Am I missing something? Great news regarding Eze but how does that solve the problem regarding Kai’s injury? Depending on severity we need cover as if Viktor gets injured who plays? Unless Martinelli is set to cover playing centrally! At least he won’t have to worry about defending Certainly explains Tross situation. Or as we are bringing in Gooners to the club maybe Watkins as Villa interested in Jackson apparently! If Kai is out for a short time then sure we will use viktor and cover with Martinelli/ Tross/ Merino COYG.

I think you're right that the cover will be trossard/ merino and maybe martenelli if desperate. It makes sense as if we got another cf in then we'd have gyokores and the new cf with havertz and jesus to return. Seems too stacked for one position.

I wonder whether we might see Nwaneri play as a false 9 as well. Arteta has talked about it and Eze plays in the same position Nwaneri does, so it could be a thing. Guess we'll see.

We are a wealthy club we can afford one more great signing. Isak is an issue because we may compete against Liverpool but there could be a spite sale. Rodrygo looks to be our big target…. now him saka and chunky viktor wow.

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure I said likely bidders but it would take a single payment of €100M now and the player to agree. There may be an offer from elsewhere tomorrow but suspect Arsenal will step away at that price.}

From what I’ve seen merino isn’t an upgrade on Partey. Any CMs Eds you’d be looking at that’s up for potential grabs or you like the look of merino?
{Ed014's Note - I’d never heard of Merino prior to the Euros and never watched him there either.
Ugarte was supposed to be the dogs but looks like PSG are trying to off load him, have to ask why. Think Utd are looking at him to replace Casimero, but let’s be honest, any elderly lady would be better than that lump.
I liked the look of Wharton at Palace from what little I’d seen of him.
That aside no real idea mate, who do you like the look of?

Wharton would be a great signing but I think Palace would want stupid money for him. I’ve seen Ruiz linked with us which could be a good signing.

Well Ed I think the player I think Arteta could coach to be a worldy that would fit into the quality of squad we have is Mainoo not that we could get him. But he’s the kind of player. I always thought Kimmich could be an interesting one but I’ve seen you mention about his high wage and he looks maybe city bound if he moves?
{Ed014's Note - Mainoo does have a lot about him and I’m sure he’d be better here than where he is but that move would be very very unlikely.
Kimmich would definitely want big money and at 29 doesn’t have much of a shelf life.
I’m sure Arteta has someone in mind so it’s just a bit of wait and see unfortunately.

Ed do you think though with Saudi buying players of all ages, teams will be thinking it’s now a possibility to get your money atleast back if you can get a quality player relatively cheap for the individual market valuation even if they’re on the older side of 20s?
{Ed014's Note - it’s possible mate but I don’t think things are going quite as swimmingly as the Saudis hoped and maybe the crazy money signings will drop off.
The other thing with Kimmich is how he’d affect the wage structure. There also doesn’t seem to be a mass of clubs looking to sign him.

Hurzeler having a pop at us taking our time at corners yet over the season the ball is in play the same amount of time as.? Yep Brighton. My ST mates at the Amex including my son are really fed up about not being entertained and want him gone and surprisingly having a pop at the club just not caring about the supporters.
They've had two wins in two which makes them safeish, relaxed and a bit more dangerous. Concerned but a win is huge here! COYG.

Guess he’s a replacement for Kiwior and once Kiwior and Zinchenko are sold we have 7 defenders- Hincapie makes 8 and can cover LB and CB. No idea if he’s any good - seen him mentioned across the sites but if he’s an upgrade then ? . Maybe Saka not missing many games hopefully maybe waiting for Jesus to cover come October time. Just hope Victor stays fit - seems risky - one Hincapie=1 Watkins but need two defenders in each position I guess COYG.

As Nathan ? says himself he’s versatile across front five and happy to play and cover where needed. Think he’ll mainly share Saka cover with Max and cover Ode with Eze hopefully! I thought he was excellent covering Saka last season and will only improve ( and not his position either) Brilliant news COYG.

It ain't pretty but it's effective. As a neutral/purist, I'd be disappointed. As a Gooner who cares (for this season only) . Also, if anyone shouts 'Corner FC' Liverpool have more corners per game than us, City the same and Brighton (always comes back to Sussex ?) , just one corner per game less. Hardly us playing for corners, it's just we are good at them. I'll forgive MA completely, this style provided we win the Prem on proviso we go back to being the entertainers we were, particularly a couple of seasons ago.
Chelsea under Moanio were hardly entertaining! But winners! Way more 1-0 wins than us this season! Lots of narrative being spouted is lazy. The narrative I want is we are not serial runners up! For that, I forgive and ignore the bitterness! COYG.

I'm all for the banning of fouling, blocking, holding, etc., in the box. I'm looking forward to an unimpeded Gabriel having a free run at it, with Deckers and Saka's delivery. He's quite good at it, even when being held, blocked, etc., at every corner, especially. All for it. Coyg.
