Big Rumours Max has signed scholarship terms! Nice to see him MLS Nwaneri trusting if good enough they’ll play! Unlike others who jumped elsewhere COYG.
21 Aug 2025 05:59:29
Am I missing something? Great news regarding Eze but how does that solve the problem regarding Kai’s injury? Depending on severity we need cover as if Viktor gets injured who plays? Unless Martinelli is set to cover playing centrally! At least he won’t have to worry about defending Certainly explains Tross situation. Or as we are bringing in Gooners to the club maybe Watkins as Villa interested in Jackson apparently! If Kai is out for a short time then sure we will use viktor and cover with Martinelli/ Tross/ Merino COYG.
1.) 21 Aug 2025 10:07:26
Don’t worry great transfer incoming.
2.) 21 Aug 2025 10:46:08
I think you're right that the cover will be trossard/ merino and maybe martenelli if desperate. It makes sense as if we got another cf in then we'd have gyokores and the new cf with havertz and jesus to return. Seems too stacked for one position.
3.) 21 Aug 2025 14:27:10
Sammy the only ‘Great’ transfer to cover CF is surely Mr Isak . Am I close to? I am holding you personally responsible if we don’t get a great incoming transfer ??? COYG.
4.) 21 Aug 2025 16:14:16
I wonder whether we might see Nwaneri play as a false 9 as well. Arteta has talked about it and Eze plays in the same position Nwaneri does, so it could be a thing. Guess we'll see.
5.) 23 Aug 2025 00:55:12
I know I'm dreaming, but if liverpool upset Newcastle and Newcastle are forced to sell elsewhere for a lower price something could be done.
6.) 24 Aug 2025 21:15:37
We are a wealthy club we can afford one more great signing. Isak is an issue because we may compete against Liverpool but there could be a spite sale. Rodrygo looks to be our big target…. now him saka and chunky viktor wow.
29 Aug 2024 16:25:44
Hi Ed002 hope you`re well. You said a while ago Arsenal were in for Ivan Toney if the price reduced. Is this still the case or as you like to say have we moved on? Thanks in advance COYG.
{Ed002's Note - I understand that efforts are being made still to take Toney to Saudi.}
1.) 29 Aug 2024 18:45:02
Hi ed002, you mentioned on the europe page before that Arsenal were likely bidders for Gyokeres. Is that unlikely as we near the end of the window.
{Ed002's Note - I am not sure I said likely bidders but it would take a single payment of €100M now and the player to agree. There may be an offer from elsewhere tomorrow but suspect Arsenal will step away at that price.}
26 Jul 2024 10:19:27
Hi Eds hope you are all well. Is there any interest in Thomas Partey as he enters the last year of his contract? Seems we are looking to upgrade him and just wanting to know if he`s aiming to run his contract down. Thanks in advance.
{Ed002's Note - There has been interest from Turkey and the Middle East but he wants to see his contract out. Arsenal want him moved on.}
1.) 26 Jul 2024 14:05:30
Thanks Ed002, frustrating for the club I guess but if ( a big if ) he stays fit for the season he is a big asset. Much appreciated COYG.
{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}
2.) 28 Jul 2024 16:35:50
From what I’ve seen merino isn’t an upgrade on Partey. Any CMs Eds you’d be looking at that’s up for potential grabs or you like the look of merino?
{Ed014's Note - I’d never heard of Merino prior to the Euros and never watched him there either.
Ugarte was supposed to be the dogs but looks like PSG are trying to off load him, have to ask why. Think Utd are looking at him to replace Casimero, but let’s be honest, any elderly lady would be better than that lump.
I liked the look of Wharton at Palace from what little I’d seen of him.
That aside no real idea mate, who do you like the look of?
3.) 28 Jul 2024 18:25:21
Wharton would be a great signing but I think Palace would want stupid money for him. I’ve seen Ruiz linked with us which could be a good signing.
4.) 29 Jul 2024 03:15:05
Well Ed I think the player I think Arteta could coach to be a worldy that would fit into the quality of squad we have is Mainoo not that we could get him. But he’s the kind of player. I always thought Kimmich could be an interesting one but I’ve seen you mention about his high wage and he looks maybe city bound if he moves?
{Ed014's Note - Mainoo does have a lot about him and I’m sure he’d be better here than where he is but that move would be very very unlikely.
Kimmich would definitely want big money and at 29 doesn’t have much of a shelf life.
I’m sure Arteta has someone in mind so it’s just a bit of wait and see unfortunately.
5.) 29 Jul 2024 18:59:02
Ed do you think though with Saudi buying players of all ages, teams will be thinking it’s now a possibility to get your money atleast back if you can get a quality player relatively cheap for the individual market valuation even if they’re on the older side of 20s?
{Ed014's Note - it’s possible mate but I don’t think things are going quite as swimmingly as the Saudis hoped and maybe the crazy money signings will drop off.
The other thing with Kimmich is how he’d affect the wage structure. There also doesn’t seem to be a mass of clubs looking to sign him.
14 Jul 2024 11:53:40
Hi Ed002 Hope you are well. Do Arsenal have any interest in Julian Alvarez at City? Not sure they would sell to us but would be a great signing COYG.
{Ed002's Note - There is interest from other clubs, but not Arsenal.}
1.) 17 Jul 2024 16:25:23
Thanks as always Ed002 ?.

Phew! Thank goodness Politics and Sport don’t mix! WTF COYG.
1.) 05 Dec 2025 17:39:40
Just when you think fifa can't be anymore corrupt!
2.) 05 Dec 2025 17:47:04
Its so openly corrupt now days its almost laughable mate, in fact now that any expectation of anything different has gone it actually is laughable. Personally I feel much better since I gave up on the lot of them mate ????.
3.) 05 Dec 2025 20:28:09
It was cringeworthy that's for sure!
03 Dec 2025 15:21:45
I`m sure you lovely people know ( and MA has reminded us all ) but 7.30pm KO tonight. COYG 3 points please.
21 Oct 2025 21:34:43
? ? COYG.
1.) 21 Oct 2025 22:04:26
???.
{Ed025's Note - i love it too.. :)
2.) 21 Oct 2025 22:06:30
Unbelievable result ? ? ?
We can only expect Liverpool and their team full of superior players will hit Frankfurt for at least 8 without reply.
3.) 21 Oct 2025 22:10:57
When life gives you lemons, take the mick out of Ed025!
{Ed025's Note - "one swallow does not a summer make"...and thats my defence Sharpey M,lud.. :)
4.) 21 Oct 2025 22:33:47
Couldn’t resist Ed025, he’s scoring one in two in all comps but it his work rate that impresses me. Apparently he runs further than any prem striker but it leads to defenders and keepers rushing which leads to turnovers which are important! He seems popular with his team mates and they see him in training! My view is he’s one of us he tries his arse off he’ll do for me COYG Or is that a one game knee jerk? I don’t think so but WTF do I know.
{Ed025's Note - i hope he proves me wrong SUSSEX, but that has not happened since 1978 mate.. :)
5.) 21 Oct 2025 22:43:53
Ed25 you every time he scores you will see some lemons in the thread right hahahah.
{Ed025's Note - i would expect nothing less Moe mate.. :)
6.) 21 Oct 2025 23:21:31
I'm in Scotland, I don't have a clue what a summer is, mate.
?? #COYG.
7.) 22 Oct 2025 07:38:15
It was a great win, and lovely for Gyok to get a double, but let's not forget Arteta and Merino were being slaughtered for achieving the same numbers last season. More lemons required!
02 Oct 2025 21:43:08
If we say late goals are 80th minute onwards we have scored a late goal in seven out of nine games this season! Bodes well! Also as a kicker the league leaders have scored six late goals in the league while we have managed five! Shows we keep going too. Just means keep the faith even with 10 to go! Thought it showed a good mentality ? COYG.
1.) 03 Oct 2025 07:53:39
Well said sussex
The team has spunk.
17 Sep 2025 09:40:02
Good solid performance again. We’re a funny lot lose 1-0 to a worldie = meltdown good away win in CL silence. Only caught last 20 mins as working but Martinelli well taken goal and Tross a nuisance. Well played Gooners COYG.
1.) 17 Sep 2025 13:04:19
Hello Sussex mate. First half performance was poor. Arteta made the substitutions and we came away with the 3pts. CL games are so different imo and i said this last season, Artetas tactics are better suited for CL.
Big game Sunday but i fancy us strongly.
Enjoy Florida??.
2.) 17 Sep 2025 18:51:30
So far the increased competition seems to be having a positive effect on Martinelli, long mate it continue ?.
3.) 18 Sep 2025 04:29:12
Not just the increased competition but I think he's currently well-suited to coming off the bench. Gets a chance to run at tired defenders. My hope is that he comes off the bench for a couple months, scores a few important goals, and learns to back himself again. I'd love to see him earn that starting LW spot back again and make us forget all about his troubles. I'm very emotionally invested in Gabi's success, he and Saka were the only bright spots for a good year or so.
4.) 18 Sep 2025 10:35:34
Comparing our squad when we won fa cup under Arteta to Liverpool we had two left last season Saka and Martinelli! Liverpool had Nine. To compete we needed to buy at least SEVEN first teamers to catch pool up and more to really compete. It explains why we spent a fortune- we had to - and why I give MA Edu and Berta credit in the bank. It’s tricky buying the right players. So we had to spend to make up for the extremely poor buying circa 2016- 2020. Thank feck for Hale End. So yes Martinelli has been poor but like Wire he has credit with me. Maybe emotional rather than head but to me that’s football COYG.
5.) 18 Sep 2025 14:57:54
Hi Kent, I think Martinelli has a lot of emotional credit with many of us and we'd all love to see him earn an extended contract at Arsenal.
He was a sensation when he first burst on the scene, along with Saka and ERS they were one the one good thing happening at Arsenal back then
Unfortunately ERS neeed to move on from Arsenal to try and make his way in the game while Saka has become a superstar of the game with Arsenal.
I think virtually all of us want Martinelli to replicate Saka rather than ERS and hopefully he will take every chance he gets to do just that. With the arrival of Ezes and Noni, Martinelli must be aware its now or never for him to show what he can consistently at Arsenal, and fingers crossed ? that's exactly what he will do between now and May.
{Ed025's Note - for me G62 the problem with Martinelli is that he cant put a full 90 minute shift in, hes good for the odd 10 minutes here and there but for me he is nothing more than an option from the bench mate..
6.) 18 Sep 2025 16:00:47
Hi Ed025 however are you?
I disagree mate, I've watched Martinelli put in a full shift in the past and I believe he can do so again. He definitely lost his edge for some reason or another but i'm hopping competition for places will help him rediscover that Edge on a consistent basis mate. Time as always will tell ?.
{Ed025's Note - you obviously see more of him than i do G62 and while i do think he is a very good player he could do a lot more for me, yes a lot goes down your right because Saka is an exceptional player and Madueke is very good as well, but Gabi for me flits in and out of games and lacks concentration and physicality and he also loses the ball too often, there is a player in there mate but he has to do a lot more..
7.) 18 Sep 2025 18:15:29
Hi Ed025 hope all good and enjoying new shiny stadium. Most Gooners i know think we have for once real competition for places and Martinelli if he wants to play needs to outperform Eze Tross and probably Madueke when Saka back. Where it leads us who knows but strongest squad for us in recent history is a good start. Quietly confident COYG.
{Ed025's Note - i so want you to do well SUSSEX but at times i find Arsenal very frustrating mate, take the Liverpool game...they were there for the taking but your tactics was to play to not get beat rather than go and win the bloody thing, you are the only hope we have to stop Liverpool walking this league again but you have to be more ruthless imo, you have a very good squad now and the title is within your grasp...but you really have to want it, im good thanks and hope you are well too my friend..
8.) 19 Sep 2025 08:07:56
I agree with you 100% on the Liverpool game Ed025 mate, that was very disappointing to say the least.
Mikel can't afford to lose with that approach again, the squad we have now raises the bar for everyone and for Mikel more than anyone.
{Ed025's Note - i feel this may be last chance saloon for him G62, i do like Arteta mate but if he cant win it with this squad then i think you may need someone who will..
9.) 19 Sep 2025 09:50:11
If Arteta was for some bizarre reason to ever ask my advice it would definitely be " go for it 100% you've nothing to lose " because if he allows his over cautious nature to get the better of him he will end up getting be sacked anyway.
10.) 19 Sep 2025 09:22:47
All good here Ed025 and 865 hope you`re all good too. No one more frustrated with Liverpool game than us. Obvious we went for draw and had we got one landscape would be different . It is the lack of trying to win the game that irks us Arsenal fans but think he didn`t trust the team without Saka Odegaard and Saliba (obviously injured) . Hoping performances over international break and v Leeds and Forest and Bilbao means he trusts a bit more as Mosquera Madueke and Nwaneri have impressed. Fingers crossed anyway COYG Would we have won if Salah VVD and Gravenberch missing? I think so.
25 Aug 2025 17:23:21
?? some on the pool page wondering why with ( once Kiwior and Zion go ) seven defenders we need another defender while they have NINE and looking to buy Guehi! Why let the facts get in the way of a good post COYG Ed01 seems to rate him too, good enough for me.
25 Aug 2025 17:04:50
Guess he’s a replacement for Kiwior and once Kiwior and Zinchenko are sold we have 7 defenders- Hincapie makes 8 and can cover LB and CB. No idea if he’s any good - seen him mentioned across the sites but if he’s an upgrade then ? . Maybe Saka not missing many games hopefully maybe waiting for Jesus to cover come October time. Just hope Victor stays fit - seems risky - one Hincapie=1 Watkins but need two defenders in each position I guess COYG.
21 Aug 2025 14:27:10
Sammy the only ‘Great’ transfer to cover CF is surely Mr Isak . Am I close to? I am holding you personally responsible if we don’t get a great incoming transfer ??? COYG.
15 Aug 2025 10:03:07
Selling Kiwior, Tross, Zinchenko and Veira - In for Eze and Malik Fofana. Who knows but would be spectacular COYG.
08 Aug 2025 18:01:47
As Nathan ? says himself he’s versatile across front five and happy to play and cover where needed. Think he’ll mainly share Saka cover with Max and cover Ode with Eze hopefully! I thought he was excellent covering Saka last season and will only improve ( and not his position either) Brilliant news COYG.
30 Nov 2025 09:46:02
I just hope win lose or draw we have a go at them today! Trust our defence and ability overall. Not a Liverpool away attitude. That was a poor misjudgement COYG.
24 Nov 2025 18:03:09
I`ve long hankered for a Cannon to go off pre kick off (can be done -looked into it, even had a company up for it) as well as a cannon going off when we score! Probably too American and Health and Safety would have a coronary! Do it at the Buccaneers though gets the crowd going COYG.
24 Nov 2025 13:04:33
Hi Banbury hope all good. Totally agree and go further to say Zubi, Madueke Hincapie Mosquera Gyorkeres and even Kepa as well as Eze have all bought into the system and performed well . I looked at Spuds bench and injury list which is littered with £40 / £60 Mill players who just have not performed.
Kudos to the buying team. On a separate note as a motto To Dare Is To Win - not vey daring yesterday, very very poor approach. Four goals from open play from the new Stoke! Very Happy at the moment COYG.
16 Nov 2025 17:04:50
Why Declan is playing again god only knows! Stacked in midfield! Time for Mosquera, Hincapie MLS and White to carry on the good work - but Rice being injured in a meaningless rubber is unforgivable . chance for Foden etc Hmmmm! COYG.
06 Nov 2025 16:32:18
Agree a good read. Couple of points Bournemouth aren`t too bad up front scoring one less goal than us ( just not so good at keeping them out) which is hardly surprising. League is nowhere near a formality, we are well in it but City and Pool have a real chance too. I think Sharpie we agreed on having perhaps Allison and Ekitike from the Pool team.
Yet Gyokeres has almost an identical record to Ekitike. He`s doing fine and I think with his workrate/ style of play it is no surprise our wingers are thriving - Saka and Martinelli speak highly of him. He`s one of ours not a lemon and I feel will be fine. He`s helped us to top of the league too COYG.
