Looks like we've got Konsa, well according to Here We Go.
1.) 19 Aug 2026 20:16:41
Absolutely brilliant signing Sally imo.
Covering all the bases.
04 Aug 2026 19:26:45
Just seen Nwaneri might be leaving. He seems to need a challenge but I've read reports from the manager of his loan club publicly stating he needed to do more. Hope it works out for him though.
.
Anyway, if true, it seems we couke insert a buy back clause, that seems like a pretty good idea!
1.) 05 Aug 2026 09:05:05
I think so too, Sally. My feeling is that Nwaneri has coasted a little since he broke through, and a permanent deal would be good for him. Buyback clause seems like the best of both worlds, as it puts the pressure on him to excel, and I think he may need that pressure to develop.
2.) 05 Aug 2026 09:25:00
He hasn't pushed on, but there is a player there. Perhaps a prem loan, say Everton or Palace, would be better than the south of France. COYG.
3.) 05 Aug 2026 09:29:02
*Still very young.
24 Jul 2026 09:49:17
As it seems we are serious about Alvarez, would a loan with an option to buy work for him? It would give his family a chance to live in London for a while as I understand Manchester wasn't appealing to them.
1.) 24 Jul 2026 13:45:24
I've never liked these arrangements, and I don't think they work for the player either. It never leaves them settled unless it's clear the intent - like with Raya and Hincapie, it was clear. Players like Sancho and Barkley get horse-traded around, and it never works for anyone. imo, if we get Alvarez, it should be a straight purchase.
2.) 24 Jul 2026 22:49:33
Why would Atletico loan a player (that they don't want to sell) and wait a year to get the over EUR150m? How are they gonna replace him if they don't get the money up front?
3.) 25 Jul 2026 08:50:48
Naively, I was only looking at it from the player's perspective. Thanks for the comments, guys. ?
4.) 27 Jul 2026 23:14:33
Unfortunately they are trading cards, Sally - bought, sold, dropped and discarded when it suits. Players also treat clubs poorly, with agents hungry for fees.
Stay lovely. ?
08 Jul 2026 12:21:00
Looks like we are about to sign Meslier from Leeds as backup for Raya. That cane from nowhere lol.
1.) 08 Jul 2026 22:32:23
Hi Sally, most of our signings do seem to come out of nowhere. ?
2.) 09 Jul 2026 07:45:25
They do indeed, g62. I think it shows the Arsenal run a tight ship, and you can usually ignore the media b*******, as speculation or drumming up interest by agents.
{Ed001's Note - it has been all over the Leeds site for weeks.}
3.) 10 Jul 2026 00:45:14
Pretty sure I've seen it in the rags for a week or two.
29 Apr 2026 10:51:17
Morning eds, are we being seriously linked with any new players does anyone know?
{Ed001's Note - I don't know of any, which probably suggests that they are waiting to see if you win something or not.}
1.) 29 Apr 2026 23:18:30
Thanks for the response ed, that makes sense
{Ed001's Note - very welcome Sally.}

I'm not liking these rumours of our Martinelli going off to the Saudi Pro League. Surely he is still young enough to get an elite club?
I'm assuming of course that the Saudi Pro League standard is still behind elite European clubs? I stand corrected if I am wrong.
{Ed014's Note - I’m hoping if he does go it’s to a club of his choosing wherever that may be Sally.
I think it’s fair to say it’s not an elite league and a fair way behind I’d imagine.
1.) 23 Aug 2026 19:01:55
I feel sorry for Martinelli, he's served the club brilliantly ever since he joined us as a teenager, but football is a brutal industry, and sometimes players do what's best for themselves and force moves away from clubs who don't wish to sell them, and sometimes clubs force players out despite the player not wanting to leave.
I hope Martinelli stubbornly holds out until a move that suits him personally comes along, even if he has to wait until January or even next summer for that to happen. He's armed with a very good contract, so no one can actually force him to go anywhere he himself isn't happy to go to.
{Ed014's Note - my hope is simply we do the right thing by him.
I didn’t like hearing Wrighty say the club hadn’t even spoken to him.
2.) 23 Aug 2026 19:46:52
Hearing Wrighty's comments about the way Arteta and the club have treated Martinelli wasn't nice to hear, mate. I get managers have to make ruthless decisions if they want to be as successful as possible, but there should surely always be a place for treating players who have got you to where you are now with respect, even when they no longer fit in with your plans.
3.) 23 Aug 2026 20:51:34
Very true, but he knew what he was getting into, and on 180k per week. Plenty of players in the 70s and 80s were treated far worse, on far less money & took on more longterm injuries to the head that were unknown. He can stay put & bag his money. Players have far more power & it is a cold game, but look at his wage.
He earns more than the prime minister in two weeks. What’s he done so much special for us that he’s any different to Jesus, Vieira, Trossard, etc.? If you are in 9m per annum, you know the stakes are high. I’ve moved my family because of work, as did my dad. What’s the big deal? He gets to say no & on 9 yes nine million a year!
{Ed014's Note - if we want to move him on, I’ve no issue but would rather we did it the right way, that’s just my thoughts on it.
4.) 23 Aug 2026 21:10:07
I'm with you Ed014, I want us to be as successful possible but I'd also like us to be respectful towards players we no longer see as part of our future. I believe its possible to be both things.
{Ed014's Note - absolutely mate and I read some later reports that suggested Arteta had spoken to Martinelli, I’d found it hard to believe he hadn’t to be honest.
17 Aug 2026 22:28:52
Just seen a post saying our 2nd team could get into the top 4. Probably not true but it made me smile at the thought. ?
16 Aug 2026 20:59:08
I'm loving this lack of bear hugs-in-the-box football lol.
Stop the silly yellows and we're good to go, can't wait. I loved the World Cup but so glad Arsenal are back ?.
1.) 17 Aug 2026 05:08:21
I thought we looked threatening on set pieces without the grappling, so I'm confident our goals from that avenue will still come. It was always about Rice/Saka's delivery anyway!
Big Gabby grabbing Khusanov's shirt was pretty amusing, but it was a clear foul, and he'll need to learn how to be a bully without fouling!
{Ed014's Note - so much was made of our corners by bitter opposing fans because they were on the receiving end of the goals.
Loads would have been disallowed had there been fouls, great corner takers and great movement in the box.
Keep them coming, if nothing else just to annoy the bitters! ?
2.) 17 Aug 2026 09:33:47
If it does become more difficult to score, I feel it will force us to be more expansive, which we are very good at (handbrake off) . How many times was Gabriel held, blocked, interrupted at corners by the penalty spot? He will now potentially have a free run, so it can be more dangerous.
Also thought Raya came and caught brilliantly yesterday, me thinks he's practiced, as without keepers being blocked it becomes an option to catch / punch etc. We looked good yesterday as C£ty came at us. It will be interesting to see us against the low block. Thought Mosquera played well yesterday too. COYG
09 Aug 2026 13:21:27
In case anyone doesn't know, it seems the game today is free on Arsenal's YouTube channel. Happy happy happy!
1.) 09 Aug 2026 14:31:19
Still happy? lol.
2.) 09 Aug 2026 14:33:29
Getting mugged. I know it's just a friendly, but this is where we try and show a bit of how we intend to run the season.
3.) 09 Aug 2026 14:44:55
Max looking good.
4.) 09 Aug 2026 14:52:21
A 16 year old and 3? under-20 year olds, a 2nd goalkeeper, so I'm not too unhappy, guys. I see lots of talent coming through..
5.) 09 Aug 2026 15:35:18
I prefer Meslier to Arizabalaga.
6.) 09 Aug 2026 15:37:45
It'll be alright on the night, Sally, and the night things genuinely start counting for anything of any huge importance is Friday 21st of August v Coventry.
Up until then, everything is simply a dress rehearsal, obviously, it's always better when rehearsals go really well, but learning from things that go wrong before the opening night is what rehearsals are really all about.
7.) 09 Aug 2026 17:34:36
Totally agree 62, I was really impressed with our youngsters, and if that is the last goal Martinelli scores for us he will have gone out in style. ? ?
30 Jul 2026 11:01:34
If we are really in for Bruno, I hope Eddie Howe's resignation doesn't out a stop to that!
1.) 30 Jul 2026 12:22:41
Hope not, or selling Bruno to us may have been the last nail for the Howe-Newcastle relationship?
Feel bad for Howe, he is a good manager, though last season's results were not good, he has done well in all his tenures.
With almost all the top PL clubs changing managers, we have a great chance to retain the title.
Let's hope for the best. ??
2.) 30 Jul 2026 14:01:51
They got Isak, Bruno, Tonnali, Hall, Livramento, so there's not much wrong in their scouting and acquisition framework. Eddie Howe is a decent manager, but imo a better calibre manager would have achieved more.
3.) 30 Jul 2026 14:40:20
Deal should be done by Sunday. Little rumour.
4.) 30 Jul 2026 20:51:20
Hi Dublin, hope all's well. My youngest son told me exactly the same thing regarding it being done by Sunday. Fingers crossed, mate.

Ornstein saying it's close, Stephen.
03 Aug 2026 11:00:02
Nope, I don't like that rumour at all!
25 Jul 2026 08:50:48
Naively, I was only looking at it from the player's perspective. Thanks for the comments, guys. ?
11 Jul 2026 12:17:16
Saw that Dublin, is he out of contract?
08 Jul 2026 12:32:59
I heard Kepa wants a move AWRAWA, so he might be 2nd choice.

Perhaps it's his wife who isn't keen on coming back to England. That can be a tricky one to navigate as it's easy to forget players have families to consider.
If he does come, I hope all these shenanigans can be forgotten.
11 Aug 2026 19:25:04
Just read The Athletic said he wants to stay with us. If his agent is hawking him around, he needs to get shot of them! Set his grandma on them lol.
11 Aug 2026 19:19:18
I really hope he's not going. He is so versatile and Arsenal to his core.
A loan, perhaps, but if he does leave, I want a buy back clause!
