Hi Eds, Eze has been linked with Man U and Spurs, surely if he is moving then we should be going in for him or is he not a target for us?

Highbury

{Ed014's Note - Rodrygo is the only winger I’ve seen us linked with so wouldn’t know about Eze.

It would seem strange for him to take a step down and join the Spuds or that Manc 5h1te. ?‍♂️

1.) 16 Jun 2025 17:07:18
Thanks Ed, same thoughts regarding him taking a step down by going to either. It will be good for us to get one of Rodrygo, Eze or Gordon. Can take a punt on Grealish with loan.

{Ed014's Note - a case of wait and see HB.

2.) 17 Jun 2025 20:01:15
Flirt with the prettiest girl at the disco and leave empty handed or with a tramp. Great.

We need to be more strategic and deliver - who cares about the fish we wanted to catch. 3 years later and we are still chasing the dream.

If we win trophies - it would be easier.

Hi Eds, do you know if we have had any serious discussions with our primary targets and their clubs? It is very early days and transfers are complicated process but I am fearing the usual hesitancy in our approach. It will be disheartening if good players are snapped up and we keep faffing around.

Highbury

{Ed001's Note - yes, I believe you are trying to sort out at least a couple of signings in this initial window. It is a different year for PSR purposes than the second window, so getting them done now will get them off the books earlier in the future.}

1.) 03 Jun 2025 10:32:31
Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

26 May 2025 12:56:31
Hi Eds, do you have any latest on which wingers we are looking at if any? I would have liked Eze or Gordan, but with Palace in Europa and Newcastle in the CL, they look unlikely. We missed out on Marmoush and will have to compete with many clubs for Nico Williams. We need someone who can hit the ground running and preferably with premier league experience.

Highbury

{Ed001's Note - Rafael Leao and Gittens seem to be the main two targets.}

1.) 26 May 2025 13:36:53
Thanks Ed, Leao is a good player but hasn’t lived up to the hype, Gittens also is one for the future but any additional depth to the squad will be welcome.

2.) 29 May 2025 02:26:39
I would be chuffed with Gittens, 20 y/ o with 8 goals and 3 assists for BvB? Sign me up. Williams would be the premium target but doubt we'd pay the asking price.

Bayern look like the team to beat this season. We should beat anyone with the way we are performing but I hope we get them in the finals rather than earlier two legged ties.

Highbury

1.) 05 Nov 2025 17:07:06
Liverpool also looked strong last night against Madrid Highbury.

2.) 05 Nov 2025 20:09:06
Arsenal looked absolutely Awesome against Real last season and nothing short of incredible against Athletico this season.

I've a feeling Real Bayern Athletico and Liverpool are thinking far more Arsenal than Arsenal are thinking about any of them ????.

3.) 06 Nov 2025 20:20:12
Get to see how we do against Bayern in a few games, hopefully we can lay some demons to rest.

26 Oct 2025 19:56:11
Great sign to win when not at our best, we are doing everything right at the moment. Long way to go but looks like things are falling in to place, my fingers will be crossed until May!

Highbury

1.) 26 Oct 2025 23:02:59
The really exciting thing is I don't think we've yet seen the best of Zubi, Eze or VG.

Top of the league and still some individuals and the team collectively playing within ourselves, huge credit once again to our fantastic defence ?.

22 Oct 2025 09:56:47
Great performance against a very good Athletico side and a great start to the champions league campaign. Finally, we look like a formidable team with strong bench and everyone contributing 100%. Read some statistics that since returning to Champions league, we have won all our home matches 27-0, if true that is a sign of a great team. Only, if we had a little luck on our side in the semi finals last season. We need the luck sometimes in football and we definitely had that yesterday, Raya’s moment of horror and Alvarez striking the cross bar, if those two goals had gone in, it may have been a different night. I said it at the start of the season, Raya has this indecision in his game that we need to cut out, it can prove costly in important matches. This is not a complaint or I am not whining, just a critical feedback as I want us to keep improving and achieve great things. COYG!

Morning Highbury. well said…by the way I was watching talksport online and the worlds biggest ?️? that goes by the name of Jamie o’hara reckons athletic Madrid are bang average. what a melt. if the spuds had beaten athletic Madrid 4-0 he’d be raving about it for the next 10 years. still so twisted that he couldn’t make the grade at the Arsenal all them years ago. and yet the athletic Madrid boss came out last night and said the arsenal are the best team they have faced so far this season…last night was a tight game first half, second half we made one of the top teams in Spain look average by the way we took the handbrake off and put our foot down on the throttle hard. ?⚪️❤️.

2.) 22 Oct 2025 14:12:18
As if proof was needed O’Hara is a cock womble Atletico (same line up as last night) beat a full strength Real Madrid ( top of La Liga) 5-2 three weeks ago. Yep bang average! There’s a long long list but O’Hara is top of the worst pundits ever. COYG.

3.) 22 Oct 2025 16:49:24
Hi Sussex. hope alls good. your bang on geezer. I do watch talksport online just for the cringe comedy that o’hara and Cundy produce on a regular occurrence. o’hara’s latest bit of nonsense is arsenal are killing the game because they are good at long throws and set pieces. also the other Womble that is Jamie carragher almost a year ago today praised Bournemouth for the quick thinking well coached set piece against the Arsenal. Forward a year and he also thinks we are killing football. I think the mighty gunners are starting to scare them and they truly can’t handle it. ?⚪️❤️.

Go and have a look, Highbury. There's one clown there, I'm sure you'll find it (Olired) . I can almost taste the bitterness myself. Makes for a good chuckle I suppose.

26 Sep 2025 21:16:57
The one that got away……Harry Kane, the goal machine. Already 100 goals for Bayern and could possibly reach 100 for England. Glad he moved to Bayern and got the trophy his career deserves.

Highbury

1.) 27 Sep 2025 09:52:27
That's a bit OTT Highbury mate LOL.

2.) 27 Sep 2025 17:21:05
Not really Bill mate, baffling how our academy didn’t see the potential in him, always hated when he scored for the spuds against us but he is one of the best England strikers of all time.
On the other hand, one of our own has done us a huge favour against Liverpool, our turn to do the job tomorrow! COYG!

3.) 27 Sep 2025 17:43:37
Can see your argument Highbury mate.
Deffo Eddie has done us a favour, it's must win for us tomorrow
COYG??.

4.) 27 Sep 2025 18:21:41
Wasn't he 10 years old or something when the club let him go?

Loads of kids who went on to become great players suffered rejection at some stage and equally loads of kid's who were retained throughout their childhood get released by clubs at 16 to 18 and end up drifting out of the game completely.

How did Newcastle allow Shearer to end up at Southampton and didn't Chelsea let Salah and KDB go when they were in their 20s?

{Ed001's Note - Keegan scrapped the youth programme at Newcastle, so Shearer went to Saints.}

5.) 27 Sep 2025 18:34:00
Thanks Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome. }

6.) 27 Sep 2025 19:06:20
Just out of curiosity Ed mate, why did Keegan scrap youth system, was it for economic reasons.

{Ed001's Note - he didn't think it was worthwhile as he had no interest in developing youngsters.}

7.) 27 Sep 2025 19:12:59
Yes G62, that’s always the case, we can never predict, however, I can’t think of anyone except him who we released or who left us and went on to have a stellar career like he did. So for him, I always have the ‘what could have been’ thought at the back of my mind.

8.) 27 Sep 2025 19:15:35
Thanks for the insight Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

9.) 27 Sep 2025 19:35:08
Zlaten Ibrahimovic was arguably a bigger slip up Highbury mate. Admittedly it was pretty arrogant for a 17 year old to say " I don't do auditions " but he certainly backed up that arrogant attitude on the pitch over the next 20 years.

10.) 27 Sep 2025 19:57:20
Serge Gnabry was a big miss although not a youth product.

11.) 27 Sep 2025 20:27:20
Zlatan is Zlatan :D but we never had him on our boooks.
Yes SY, Gnabry is a good shout, he had decent tome in Germany after leaving us.

12.) 27 Sep 2025 21:16:27
Apparently Zlaten was very happy to join us and willing to sign a contract but not do an audition before signing Highbury. Personally i'd say letting a 17 year old Ibrahimovic slip through our fingers was a much bigger mistake than allowing a 10 year old Harry Kane leave the club.

There is a rumour around MLS being tracked by Real Madrid. Nwaneri will also be looking for assurances on more game time. However, we must extend their contracts and my be give them an option to review next year.

Morning gooners!
We all are rooting for the same thing and hoping the best for our club, it’s just the different ways of looking at the present situation. I think the discussion started on the argument whether we lost two points or whether it is one of those games where any team may drop points. When we win without playing well, we say it’s a sign of a great team so when we drop points from winning position that may feel like we aren’t at it and with the demands of the league, we can criticise the team for it.

However, in each and every post, all of us agree that we are in a great position and will achieve something this season. So COYG!

Hi 62, Bill,
I admire your posts but we don’t have to be always philosophical, we can be critical of performances as well. We are in far better position as a club and team than we were 4 years ago but this position will demand more and any shortcomings will have to be analysed. We crumbled under pressure in the last three years so the point is that the team must be matured enough now to deal with it. Man City play before us after the break and if they win the gap is 1 point, under this pressure we must win in the NLD else doubts will start creeping in everybody’s mind including the players.

And something isn’t right with the amount of injuries we are seeing, we have a strong squad but they need to be available throughout the season, however, I am pretty confident we will achieve something by taking the next step this year!

Totally agree with you Banbury. The fact that city are hot on our heels will kick in the psychological aspect and we’ll have to see how the team deals with it. The league these days demands so much consistency that we need to win all the matches and not loose to our title rivals. Whether we can do that over the course of the whole season this time is a question mark again.

We have a good squad but injuries aren’t helping, against Sunderland we had a depleted bench. Hopefully, all injured players are back after the break and we push on hard and achieve our goals (no pun! )

We must accept it as good point, Sunderland have been doing very well for a promoted side and will cause problems to many teams. I just thought we were not 100% at it today, the goals we conceded today were very unlike us this season and we didn’t control the game in the additional time.

We were good after taking the lead but then took the eyes off in the additional time. Still top of the league at the international break so onwards and upwards, COYG!
