We have signed Meslier from Leeds as Raya's deputy so, guess we will cash in on Kepa?
We have lost out on Monga, Fernandes and Tonalli, Eds do you know what is the latest and realistic targets for us this window? Are we getting Guimaraes and Rogers?
Also, lot of chatter about Calafiori to Real, any truth in that?
{Ed001's Note - I am sorry, this is Ed2's area, I don't have any insight into Arsenal's dealings at the moment.}
1.) 10 Jul 2026 17:51:30
Thanks Ed, no worries. I guess we will soon get clarity on everything. Not particularly worried as we still have the same squad that won the PL
24 Mar 2026 04:24:51
I have said earlier that I have doubts about Zubimendi but will give him the benefit of first season in the new league. However, though some of his tackles are great, his passing is mostly sideways or backwards. He has been guilty of Man U's first goal in the home defeat and for the final, he was ahead of Oreilly when Kepa dropped the ball, he shouldn't have allowed him to score but he was easily brushed aside for a free header.
Hopefully he improves in his physicality for the next season.
Over analysing now that I am pissed to lose the chance of first of the four trophies.
1.) 09 Apr 2026 16:36:33
So, Zubimendi was on the right side of the player until Kepa dropped a cross he didn't need to try and catch? Bad example to use, in my opinion.
16 Jun 2025 15:01:04
Hi Eds, Eze has been linked with Man U and Spurs, surely if he is moving then we should be going in for him or is he not a target for us?
{Ed014's Note - Rodrygo is the only winger I’ve seen us linked with so wouldn’t know about Eze.
It would seem strange for him to take a step down and join the Spuds or that Manc 5h1te. ?♂️
1.) 16 Jun 2025 17:07:18
Thanks Ed, same thoughts regarding him taking a step down by going to either. It will be good for us to get one of Rodrygo, Eze or Gordon. Can take a punt on Grealish with loan.
{Ed014's Note - a case of wait and see HB.
2.) 17 Jun 2025 20:01:15
Flirt with the prettiest girl at the disco and leave empty handed or with a tramp. Great.
We need to be more strategic and deliver - who cares about the fish we wanted to catch. 3 years later and we are still chasing the dream.
If we win trophies - it would be easier.
03 Jun 2025 09:40:48
Hi Eds, do you know if we have had any serious discussions with our primary targets and their clubs? It is very early days and transfers are complicated process but I am fearing the usual hesitancy in our approach. It will be disheartening if good players are snapped up and we keep faffing around.
{Ed001's Note - yes, I believe you are trying to sort out at least a couple of signings in this initial window. It is a different year for PSR purposes than the second window, so getting them done now will get them off the books earlier in the future.}
1.) 03 Jun 2025 10:32:31
Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
26 May 2025 12:56:31
Hi Eds, do you have any latest on which wingers we are looking at if any? I would have liked Eze or Gordan, but with Palace in Europa and Newcastle in the CL, they look unlikely. We missed out on Marmoush and will have to compete with many clubs for Nico Williams. We need someone who can hit the ground running and preferably with premier league experience.
{Ed001's Note - Rafael Leao and Gittens seem to be the main two targets.}
1.) 26 May 2025 13:36:53
Thanks Ed, Leao is a good player but hasn’t lived up to the hype, Gittens also is one for the future but any additional depth to the squad will be welcome.
2.) 29 May 2025 02:26:39
I would be chuffed with Gittens, 20 y/ o with 8 goals and 3 assists for BvB? Sign me up. Williams would be the premium target but doubt we'd pay the asking price.

I am glad we are playing Villa away now. They are our bogey team and it’s a good time to get this game done because they will only improve going forward. Although they may have a reaction to their last result and extra motivation to do it against us.
21 Aug 2026 10:33:05
Spurs have spent some serious money in this window. Will they not foul any financial rules with this spending?
How will they fare this season with all these nee additions?
{Ed025's Note - i think we will leave all the fouling to Arsenal players in the opposition box at corners Highbury.. :)
1.) 21 Aug 2026 11:15:46
Here's your helmet, Ed025, for when you want to jump off that old bandwagon.
Highbury, they've pulled in 140 million with sales mate.
{Ed025's Note - i still want you to do well Sharpie, i just want you to do it with a bit more style mate and maybe now you have got that monkey off your back with the win last season we will hopefully see that, in the end its an entertainment business and as a neutral i want to see attractive football that will get me off my seat and last season that was not the case, it was turgid with the emphasis on basically cheating your way to the title whether you want to admit that or not, i cant stand all this wrestling at corners and dead ball situations and i know a lot of teams do it but that does not make it right, heres hoping you have a great season and prove all the doubters wrong by playing how you can play with the plethora of talent you have..
2.) 21 Aug 2026 17:42:54
Anything within rules is fine Ed ?
Are spurs spending within their means?
{Ed025's Note - i hope you are a more attractive team this season Highbury and that would make me happy mate, it does not matter what Spurs spend ...they will always still be Spurs.. :)
3.) 22 Aug 2026 10:59:09
Ed025, I can't remember Chelsea winning trophies with attractive football. No one was moaning then. A fair few of Manu's trophies won without being attractive. No one was moaning then.
Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get over the line. And you know what, I don't mind if you say we weren't didn't play beautiful football last season because you'd be telling the truth. My issue is with all this "dark arts" and "fouling" malarky. It's nonsense.
P.S. We definitely played some lovely stuff last night! COYG!
Oh and Highbury, not sure if you say my last message. Spurs have spent about 300 mil, but they've also sold about 150 mils worth.
{Ed025's Note - you did play some nice stuff on Friday Sharpie, and long may it continue mate..
20 Aug 2026 16:52:41
All of the BBC pundits except 3 goalkeepers (two of whom played for City) have predicted us to retain the title. Is that too much pressure or has the team now manned up to face the challenge?
With the turnaround of staff among our nearest rivals I would be sad if we don’t win the PL (AGAIN!) this season.
We must be the team to beat going forward and put on a streak like City.
1.) 20 Aug 2026 18:52:25
Hi Highbury, I think we are justifiably favourites to defend our title, but I think Liverpool were every bit as justifiable favourites 12 months ago, especially after winning their opening 3 games.
It's easy to see why we Gooners are excited about the season ahead and what it could possibly bring for us, but we'd be wise not to be carried away by our own publicity and start thinking we have a right to win anything at all.
Humility should remain our keyword.
2.) 20 Aug 2026 20:37:53
I get your point, G62, but that's exactly my question: is the team mature enough to deal with this pressure?
Liverpool were in a different situation, having punched above the expectations in Slot's first season, and were knocking on the door for so many previous seasons, and Guardiola, in his last season, was trying to end on a high, added to that the issues with Salah.
However, we are in exactly the opposite situation, where every nearest rival is in transition.
3.) 20 Aug 2026 21:51:43
In all honesty, Highbury, who knows anything before it actually happens? Do I believe our team is mature enough? Absolutely I do.
Did I believe Liverpool had strengthened well last summer, and would be even better last season than they were when they won the league the season before? Absolutely I did.
Seasons seldom work out exactly as most people think they are going to work.
Some teams always do far better than predicted (Sunderland, Brentford and Bournemouth last season) , and some teams do far worse than predicted (Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea last season) . I think we have a great chance of defending our title, but I'm realistic enough to accept our doing so is anything but a forgone conclusion.
05 Aug 2026 15:31:33
Why aren't we looking at Rashford, surely we won't go wrong with him, he is exactly what we need, covering the left wing and also the centre forward, plus plenty of high level experience.
1.) 05 Aug 2026 16:14:22
Thumbs up from me Highbury. ??
2.) 05 Aug 2026 20:01:27
Who's to say we aren't looking at him, Highbury, mate? We are very good at keeping our cards close to our chest, and things only becoming public knowledge just before deals are done.
I know this is frustrating for some fans who want to know what's going on, but it's clearly working well for the club.
I think it's easier to just believe the club know what they are doing, and that by the time the season kicks off everything will be fine. ?
29 Jul 2026 09:27:39
My ideal ( read hopeful) transfer window will be Vinicius, Alvares, Bruno plus Stones and Tomiyasu on free transfers! Tzolis, Muslier, Hincapie already signed!
Get money for Jesus, Trossard, Kepa, Nordgaard and Havertz.
1.) 29 Jul 2026 19:42:31
You're not getting money for Kai esp as he's on 280k pw - even in today's inflated market that's not happening.
Like your ambition though. ?
2.) 30 Jul 2026 06:38:51
Yildiz, Bruno, Kroupi, Ramon plus a RB.
I'd like Watkins on the bench if we could sell some strikers, but it's not Football Manager.
I much prefer a mobile, aggressive, goal hungry side:
Raya.
Timber, Saliba, Gabs, Cali.
Rice & Bruno.
Ode.
Saka, Kroupi, Yildiz.
Strong bench and plan Bs in Vik, Kai, Eze, Zubi etc.
Like what Arteta is saying about going up a level & excellence! Nice one boss. ❤️
3.) 30 Jul 2026 07:50:30
Dear God, I agree with Sy. What is happening! I'm with you, though. Haven't watched much of Yildiz, but I would be very pleased with Bruno and Kroupi as signings, even if I think it's still a little too early for Kroupi to lead the line for us next season. Poor Bournemouth just get sold for scraps every season. I doubt they'll keep Scott or even Rayan next year.
I will say, though, that the difference between a one-off winning team and a dynasty like the one Fergie built is the willingness to continually seek to tweak and improve, and while I think our squad has a great chance to retain the title as-is, I do think we need an edge to get past PSG.
After the last two losses to them, I don't just want to squeak past, I want us to outplay them. It would be nice to see a non-petrol club show them what's what this coming season.
4.) 30 Jul 2026 08:48:05
Explain again why we need a cb. I know Saliba is injured, but we have Fury, Mosquera, Ben White, Timber and more. I'd say we don't need a cb, maybe get a rb to cover.
5.) 30 Jul 2026 09:52:32
Nor should we sell Kai - excellent cover as striker (not his real position, imo) and in midfield. Kroupi is out for four months, injured! Howe's gone, is that an indication Bruno is going too? ?♂️ No idea about Yildiz, but not much noise about Pool, Chelski, C£ty in for him makes me wary, although we have a history of buying Juve wingers and it seemed to work out! Would we be happy with Martinelli and Tsolis if it meant Alvarez and Bruno signed? COYG.
26 Jul 2026 20:10:36
That is an absolute no brainer if he is available.
10 Jul 2026 17:51:30
Thanks Ed, no worries. I guess we will soon get clarity on everything. Not particularly worried as we still have the same squad that won the PL
18 May 2026 10:21:10
He still has an error in him every now and then, but his overall performance covers for that, and so far such errors haven't proved costly.
13 May 2026 10:02:49
It will be the save that won us the trophy.
01 Jul 2025 18:18:41
I think we will get Eze, Rodrygo and Sesko.
26 Aug 2026 14:05:20
I think he is decent and could have developed at Ipswich. Chelsea move was wrong for him.
21 Aug 2026 17:42:54

{Ed025's Note - i hope you are a more attractive team this season Highbury and that would make me happy mate, it does not matter what Spurs spend ...they will always still be Spurs.. :)
21 Aug 2026 23:36:31
Awesome start to the season, and we were moving the ball faster than last season, let's hope it only gets better.
Martinelli and Gyokeres didn't get a run in, should we read something into that? Also, we are overstocked in the midfield, I think Zubimendi and Nwaneri may be sold by the deadline.
21 Aug 2026 17:41:32
Totally agree!
21 Aug 2026 10:31:36
He is a good shout and still potential to develop.
