Hi Eds, Eze has been linked with Man U and Spurs, surely if he is moving then we should be going in for him or is he not a target for us?
{Ed014's Note - Rodrygo is the only winger I’ve seen us linked with so wouldn’t know about Eze.
It would seem strange for him to take a step down and join the Spuds or that Manc 5h1te. ?♂️
1.) 16 Jun 2025 17:07:18
Thanks Ed, same thoughts regarding him taking a step down by going to either. It will be good for us to get one of Rodrygo, Eze or Gordon. Can take a punt on Grealish with loan.
{Ed014's Note - a case of wait and see HB.
2.) 17 Jun 2025 20:01:15
Flirt with the prettiest girl at the disco and leave empty handed or with a tramp. Great.
We need to be more strategic and deliver - who cares about the fish we wanted to catch. 3 years later and we are still chasing the dream.
If we win trophies - it would be easier.

Hi Eds, do you know if we have had any serious discussions with our primary targets and their clubs? It is very early days and transfers are complicated process but I am fearing the usual hesitancy in our approach. It will be disheartening if good players are snapped up and we keep faffing around.
{Ed001's Note - yes, I believe you are trying to sort out at least a couple of signings in this initial window. It is a different year for PSR purposes than the second window, so getting them done now will get them off the books earlier in the future.}
1.) 03 Jun 2025 10:32:31
Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}
26 May 2025 12:56:31
Hi Eds, do you have any latest on which wingers we are looking at if any? I would have liked Eze or Gordan, but with Palace in Europa and Newcastle in the CL, they look unlikely. We missed out on Marmoush and will have to compete with many clubs for Nico Williams. We need someone who can hit the ground running and preferably with premier league experience.
{Ed001's Note - Rafael Leao and Gittens seem to be the main two targets.}
1.) 26 May 2025 13:36:53
Thanks Ed, Leao is a good player but hasn’t lived up to the hype, Gittens also is one for the future but any additional depth to the squad will be welcome.
2.) 29 May 2025 02:26:39
I would be chuffed with Gittens, 20 y/ o with 8 goals and 3 assists for BvB? Sign me up. Williams would be the premium target but doubt we'd pay the asking price.

Looks like we could end up with having to face two PL sides in Man City and Liverpool on the way to CL finals. I personally think we should avoid this possibility but what do others think?
1.) 25 Feb 2026 15:57:25
Hello Highbury, hope you are well. Over 2 legs, we will beat either of them, imo. I have said this last season and this season that we are so much better set up tactically for CL than the prem. I know a lot of Gooners want the prem, but, personally, if I had to choose between the prem and CL, I would choose the latter, purely for 2 things: one, it's the only thing I have never seen them win, and two, I was there in Paris 20 years ago, and I was completely devastated, and only last month was I able to watch the highlights of the game.
Take care, mate.
2.) 25 Feb 2026 17:58:14
Wow, Bill, mate, I would not even try to imagine your heartbreak on that evening. I was also of the opinion, and would prefer the CL if we had only one, but, as I said earlier, just because of Pep's comments, I would like the PL this year over any trophy. I am not sure, though, about beating two PL teams; however we set up in the CL, it may again just come down to the psychological barrier.
I guess we'll just have to wait and watch. A week's time feels very long this time of the season, which brings all these weird thoughts, and we have to bear with the international break as well. ?
13 Feb 2026 07:07:18
That was a stinker, though Brentford played a good game, we were very poor, none of our players deserve more than 5 on 10 for that effort. Except for couple of goal denying tackles, we weren’t up for it. Let’s regroup and have a proper go in the last 12 games!
1.) 13 Feb 2026 12:18:59
Eze is really worrying me we bought him to be a difference maker in tight games and when he has had chances he has disappointed!
2.) 13 Feb 2026 15:46:34
Yes, he was doing great at Palace and played well in the NLD but last few games when is on the pitch he is almost nonexistent.
Another big worry is where are the goals going to come from, every now and then we manage the odd 3-4 goals in a game but most of the times it is laborious scoring goals.
Still in our hands, keeping the faith in the lads to get us home, somehow.
{Ed025's Note - the thing for me Highbury is that when he was at Palace he was full of craft and guile, taking people on and certainly a goal threat mate, bar from when he scored that hat trick he has looked a bit lost and very laid back to me, now is that because he is not the main man anymore or is it the Arteta factor wanting him to play this tippy tappy pass for the sake of it cringeworthy football?...answers on a postcard..
3.) 13 Feb 2026 17:31:25
It’s definitely mix of both Ed mate, his game time has reduced a lot that surely has affected his confidence and the style of play also a factor. I understand we need to be solid and difficult to score against but we sacrifice the other aspect of attacking and scoring free flowing goals too much.
The only fear we put in the opposition is on our set pieces. I keep consoling myself with the thought that it is just to get past the hurdle of not winning the title for decades and once we achieve that we will change tactics for next season.
{Ed025's Note - i think a lot of people are buying into that theory Highbury, for me Leopards dont change their spots mate and everything is about the results with Mikel which is a shame really because you have a lot of great players, now i know that what other teams supporters think is irrelevant but the majority seem to want City to catch you because of your style (or lack of) which is a surprise really seeing what most people think of them..
4.) 13 Feb 2026 20:37:50
Players are too confined to tatics they need to be set free to play.
03 Feb 2026 22:10:28
Hushhhh… Wembley!
31 Jan 2026 16:56:20
Good response and a great performance. Glad to see both strikers scoring goals. More of the same please, only 15 more to go! ?.
29 Jan 2026 21:08:30
Just watched yesterday’s highlights and was great to see Kai back on the field, scoring and assisting.
Ode/Eze/Rice should learn from the pass he made to Gyokeres for his goal, this will allow our wingers to also attack the box with pace and pepper the opposition goal.
Bill mate, your suggestion of playing 4-4-2 may work with Havertz and Gyokeres upfront. We may have to sacrifice Ode and Eze for this formation and the hoss won’t do it but it could be plan B in the last quarter of the games.
1.) 30 Jan 2026 00:10:32
Lots of reports Odegaard is looking to move on for a new challenge Highbury.
2.) 30 Jan 2026 07:11:31
That’s news, I haven’t seen anything on that but we can cash on him in the summer and give Nwaneri a chance at his role with Eze to cover. We can recruit a younger player to slowly slot in the next couple of years.
3.) 30 Jan 2026 09:20:28
Hello Highbury mate, thank you for your comments. We have the squad to have a plan b, something that Wenger definitely didn't have, and Mikel should.
Sally I have not seen or heard any rumours about Ode but he looks just a shell of the player he was or looking like the player he promised to be.
Take care both of you.
4.) 30 Jan 2026 11:50:45
Bang on Bill, I can see him being dropped. for the good of the team.
5.) 30 Jan 2026 13:40:08
Hello Banbury mate, it's a bit sad to see actually but as Highbury as already posted Kai, s through ball to VG is what should be happening and hopefully it will strike a cord in Mikels head. When Oode came on second half Wednesday night it completely slowed the play up. If you got teams getting players back quickly behind the ball you need to play the telling pass quickly not slow the play down and then you got the low block in front of you.
If the opposition just park the bus from the off then you should take people on, make the opposition make rash challenges, turn defenders etc, instead of pass, pass waiting to thread the ball through a needle.
Take care Banbury mate.
6.) 30 Jan 2026 16:42:13
blame his vegi diet. since he has gone vegeterian his heads gone and he has looked much weaker. Needs red meat.
7.) 30 Jan 2026 19:06:10
Your diet has nothing to do in your capabilities to pass the ball forward Gunns mate?.
8.) 30 Jan 2026 22:14:28
I think it's more likely the difficulties in his personal life and perhaps a little bit the relentless pressure of winning taking away from his joy of playing, rather than the diet.
01 Jul 2025 18:18:41
I think we will get Eze, Rodrygo and Sesko.
16 Jun 2025 17:07:18

There is a rumour around MLS being tracked by Real Madrid. Nwaneri will also be looking for assurances on more game time. However, we must extend their contracts and my be give them an option to review next year.
26 May 2025 13:36:53

Hi Bill, mate, I think 11 wins in the next 11 games is what we need. It is stressful being an Arsenal fan, but I am still hopeful I can wear my new Arsenal shirt to the parade. And just because Pep has asked his players to celebrate with cocktails, I want us to win the Premier League more than anything else this season.

It looks like a poisoned chalice that Spuds managerial position. Who would come to them in their current situation, though they are in CL knockout there is no guarantee they will go deep in the competition like they somehow managed in the Europa last year.
Looks like a very hard road for them from here but football is a different world, common logic doesn’t apply. We’ll have to wait and see.
