I know it’s the first round of games this season. But, it totally confirms the fact that a lot of new signings doesn’t necessarily maketh a team. Man U and the spuds were so excited that they’re back, they’ll be challenging, millions and millions spent etc. etc. yada yada yada. Well…. ……what a surprise. Zerbi is not the messiah just because he narrowly helped them avoid relegation. Carrick is not the messiah because he elevated a rubbish team to only being mediocre.
What I find interesting, is the fact that Arteta is the fifth manager to get 150 wins in under 250 matches in to their tenure. That's Pep Guardiola, who reached the milestone in 204 matches, followed by Jose Mourinho (231) , Jurgen Klopp (237) , and Alex Ferguson (247) , with Arteta (and Arsenal) taking fifth place.
An illustrious list of names. Arteta is one of them. Just sayin.
He’s done a great job of taking the team to level after level. All those decisions made. Raya over Ramsey? Who thinks that was a bad decision now?
It looked like men against boys in the com shield, same against Coventry. I so hope this keeps up. Tzolis is looking like the bargain signing of the season. I hope Marteinelli stays. A CF would be nice but I recon we’re all set.

Right now I want Merino and trossard off. Eze in central and martinelli on lw. Zubi seems to be taking an age to be a better fit than partay or jorginho. I wouldn’t have thought that’d be too difficult either. Maybe Saka in at 10? Honestly anything is better than this.

There's so little posting on here about any possible movement in the transfer window, I am worried if I'm honest. I love the manager, especially how he's given us the love back, loud and proud! The stadium is finally rocking and feels a little like Highbury. Exciting football at times. But please for the love of god get us a proven striker! Or trust one from the academy. Havertz is such a good player, in his role, an unselfish creator causing problems for defences, for others to pounce on. No offence to him, he's not a natural finisher. If he were 1v1 on the keeper I'd still be crapping myself that he'd hit row Z. I know we've been spoilt with guys like Henry and Wrighty who you'd almost bet your house on, and that sort of player costs a buck or two. But you don't win titles just buying midfielders. Although TH was bought as a winger! ? GOYG.

The waiting is awful KG, like waiting for Christmas when you're a kid (or a big kid lol) Just have to trust the powers that be I suppose and if we don't bring anyone in so be it. We need to get behind the team for the rest of the season.

True but if my parents knew what I wanted and needed but bought something completely different then tried to convince me it’s a transformer so I can make it into somethings it’s not naturally best at - I’d be annoyed and be nervous about Christmas., like I am with our windows ?.

We definitely do not play to his strengths. If he produces 20 goals again this season, and with the other goals coming from across the park, I'd be ok with it.
With Arsenal, there is no telling where the goals will come from.
Our midfield is just so strong. Timber and Fury are a frightening prospect for any team in world football, with Saka and Tzolis interchanging.
So excited to see our full-strength team out.

Watkins or Rashford, or both. They'd cost the same as Alvarez? Ish. Ollie could be a class act with the right players behind him. Rashford can play wide or up front, and can step up in the big moments.

Tzolis is an excellent replacement/upgrade to the brilliant Leo. And, ? we keep Martinelli as a strong left side back up/cup/impact player. Saka/Madueke right side, maybe Konsa and White as back up for Timber. Mosquera, Salmon, Gabbie, Saliba, Hincapie.
MLS can play defence and midfield. Taking of our midfield, it is world class. Even the squad players are high quality. For me, only a quality direct threat on goal is needed desperately right now.
