If Arsene is to leave come May as Wright has predicted would Arsenal have to make an announcement in advance like Man utd did with fergie.
{Ed025's Note - no mate..
1.) 11 Feb 2017 00:08:40
What do u think about what wright said ed?
{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what IW has said.}
2.) 11 Feb 2017 00:27:02
He basically said that he spoke to arsene and gets the feeling that he will leave this season. Ed i checked the old posts and didn't find your opinion on the topic, can u repeat it please?
{Ed002's Note - I explained in the past couple of days that the club are making provisions for him to leave as planned this summer - but they would have liked another year out of him.}
3.) 11 Feb 2017 07:40:04
Am I right in thinking ManU had to announce it as they are on the New York Stock Exchange? I hope the Wenger contract is resolved swiftly either way at the end of the season to allow plenty of prep time in the summer.
4.) 11 Feb 2017 09:24:28
Was a listed company I believe. UTD would have needed to declare things in line with exchange rules.
5.) 11 Feb 2017 07:56:47
I can't believe he's actually going to go. Ed i'm sorry i really don't know how to use this website but can u tell me the list of candidates plz. It will be the last question because i know u hate repeating urself.
{Ed002's Note - The problem is that evrytime I have explained what has happened so far and what the options might be the vegetables come out of the woodwork and wreck it for everyone. I have explained previously that approaches have been made to two people and that the first told a third party acting on behalf of the club that he would not welcome an approach. The second is Allegri as I have explained.}

Apex, towards the top of the page is a search box. Simply type Ed002 into it and it will bring up anything Ed002 has responded to. You can then scroll down and view all the nuggets of wisdom.

I think we need to stick to our guns keep faith in Wenger. I hope he signs another 2 year contract. We have been in a very dark place. We are coming through and can see the light but let us not abandon our leader.

Afternoon all. Hope you all have a cracking summer and ready for another rollercoaster of season.
I am looking forward to this season and hoping for more success this season than previous season.
We all have mixed feelings about this Alvarez deal. I personally am not a fan of him coming over after he himself has publicly stated that he wants Barcelona over us. Although I'm not the one in the know.
I will be gutted if we got rid of Martenelli but we have to balance the books and if Arteta thinks that he has achieved what he is capable of then my trust is with him.
Selling MLS and Nanweri is a big mistake at this early stage. I think both have huge potential and we should not sell or loan them out to get the playing time up, but don't sell them; they are our future.
It's good to be back. Come on Arsenal.
1.) 27 Aug 2026 14:51:12
Hi mate, hope all is well. Can you explain why you're gonna be gutted if we sell Martinelli? Personally, I think most Arsenal fans are too sentimental when it comes to players. We have to move on or get caught again and wait another 22 years for a title. If players aren't good enough to push us forward, they have to leave.
2.) 27 Aug 2026 18:38:29
Hi G4, mate, I'd like to see Martinelli stay too, if possible.
Obviously, if the club can bring in a superior upgrade, then that's the right thing to do, but as things stand, Tzolis is the upgrade on Trossard, and, despite his fantastic start with us, he can't replace 2 players and us retain our strength in depth.
3.) 27 Aug 2026 19:22:03
All good, DG. It's my personal opinion. I felt that he has more potential and will give a lot more in the coming years. I'm not a football genius, and I don't have inside workings of the club and the football market.
I do think we are in a better position than we were 22 years ago, and I don't think the decline over the 22 years was down to sentimental fans who wanted to stick with players past their prime. Cheer up, pal, they are all opinions.
4.) 27 Aug 2026 19:31:39
But, to get better you need better players. He hasn't got better, and probably won't get better than he is now. He's coming up to his prime years and scored one league goal last year! Yes, I know it's your opinion, and I was just asking a question. Don't get me wrong, if we don't have a replacement I'd keep him, but I wouldn't be "gutted" if we sold him and got someone better.
Poor buys and bad recruitment was the reason, and poor management. I'm always happy, I don't need cheering up, I support the champions lol. Just wanted to know the reason you are gutted, that's all.
5.) 28 Aug 2026 00:15:03
I would have kept Trossard over Martinelli as he's a more intelligent player & good off the bench.
We need to roll with the hard line that we need to act like a big, ambitious but also genuine club when it comes to players. We don't sell well, and we pay too high wages which makes players very sticky & hard to move on.
Who would buy Kai so we make a profit, & they can pay him at least 280k PW.
No one. So we can't recoup. Just like Jesus, Zinchenko, etc etc.
Hi, 4ever! If we get sentimental, we regress. If we act like a bad club, no one signs. Let's be honest - who wouldn't want to sign for PSG, Real or Barca before us? I'm sure many players play for clubs that weren't first choice.
6.) 28 Aug 2026 08:58:05
Granted, historically we haven't sold well. You mention Jesus and Zinchenko, and I can't disagree, but I would argue they were part of the successful process which has made us champions. We haven't sold well in recent years because we have bought well, and in a previous post I said that a vast number of our first team are worth twice as much at least as what we paid for them. This means we have bought extremely well, and the squad worth is excellent. Edu, MA and Mr Berta deserve massive credit for this. Say we bought Saliba at £26 mill, he stays with us until he's 32 and we sell him for £15 mill; is that a terrible sale considering he's helped us to multiple Prems? Let's use our considerable assets.
The point being we don't need to sell them or buy excessively because we bought well! In today's market I would wager Kai is worth £60 mill or close to it if he was put up for sale, although wages could be the issue in a sale, I agree. He's now fit and scoring regularly, but thank you for the daily Kai kicking, I didn't realise how much I'd missed it. ;) COYG
PS. Not so much gutted Martinelli is going but would be gutted if we sold him and didn't upgrade him, but as I say we are currently buying well so hopefully someone is incoming.
7.) 29 Aug 2026 11:03:20
Hi Sussex, even in the past few years, it's poor. Noni is a squad player & lacks end product, guess we bought Bruno to upgrade Zube. Viera, the Brentford lad, was poor, and Vic was average.
Did Arteta buy Saliba? Saka? I could spit Rice, let's be honest. The club have stepped up and progressively purchased better, but not great - no real start attackers. We buy players who play CB or fullback combined.
It's a journey, and we need to get better, acting faster, more decisively & in the bigger pond so it improves the starting 11, not just the squad.
The players I referenced are still decent but not top top whereas Rice, Saka, Gabs, Saliba are.
Funny, as they were signings from ages ago, but I think he has a good defensive eye. Not great attacking philosophy or delivery - perhaps why Ozil went, Aube went, Eze has flopped, etc.
We kissed a lot of frogs, but we have a great squad and some amazing players. I'm being hyper-critical, as we want to win the Champ league. That's another level.
09 Jun 2026 18:56:36
Dr Sacked been saying it all season. We need to look at the backhouse team fitness, dietary, recovery requirements. First departure, Dr Zafar Iqbal, Head of Sports Medicine. Certainly looking in the right direction. If true, good riddance. 2024 he joined Arsenal. Look at our injury and recovery time over the last 5 years; don't look good for him.
1.) 10 Jun 2026 02:14:28
My (possibly controversial) opinion is that you can't really prevent injuries except by resting players. Some players are just injury prone, and it's luck of the draw. I certainly wouldn't be confident enough to pin a club's injury record on one guy who might be very good at his job, or not -- we don't know.
Arsenal played like 70 matches last season. That's a lot of football.
2.) 10 Jun 2026 21:36:31
I don't know, wire, pal. My theory is that the medical team let us down. Players who are coming back are not looking physically fit or performing at expected levels. Recurring injuries. Unfortunately, I don't have contacts within the club to understand the full ins and outs. However, the number of injuries we had definitely negatively impacted us, especially forcing us to play defensively and not risk further injuries.
We have been better at providing appropriate cover, but they needed more time to gel together. Next season, I'm hoping for an even better season. Let's bring it home.
3.) 11 Jun 2026 06:16:26
No disputes from me about our injury record! I just think footballers play too many games and that's the elephant in the room, the FA needs to address.
I would support a players' strike, personally, especially in the context of the abominable Club World Cup and international friendlies.
01 Jun 2026 18:34:08
Evening All. Hope you are all living the dream. Yes we are champions and no one can take that away from us.
Arteta was talking about reinforcements required and freshing things up. I'm sure he has identified positions he thinks we shoudl be improving on. It's now time for Berta to show his worth.
Get the palyers we need.
Get them early so that they can train proper as a team.
We have one of tthe best defence in the world, a really good midfield, and ok strikers.
We certainly have the best squad in the country but we need to improve quality. Here's hoping to Berta and Kronke doing their bit to improve the squad and the back room team.
1.) 01 Jun 2026 20:58:11
Hi G4, mate, I think it's about balance, and bringing in quality additions without losing what we already have in our fantastic team spirit, and, in my opinion, wonderful humility. For me, it's very much like employing people in the real world, where it's important to hire people who not only have the ability you're looking for, but also have the personality to fit with, and buy into, your existing ethos.
2.) 02 Jun 2026 14:42:48
Sadly, it looks like Saliba might miss the World Cup, as I read he played through an injury in the final and made the injury worse.
3.) 02 Jun 2026 16:38:18
I hope all our players miss the World Cup or get out early, injury free.
4.) 02 Jun 2026 16:40:48
G62, always good to hear the wise words from you. Yes, it's important to have someone who fits your ethos, and has a personality that fits, but occasionally you need to throw a rocket in just to wake everyone up.
5.) 02 Jun 2026 19:09:53
Hi G4, mate, it's always good and very healthy to have fresh ideas and alternative opinions, but you don't want a rocket thrown in that blows everything off course. I really like our humility and our collective "win as a team, lose as a team" mentality, but much like with the Ramsdale/Raya decision, it's important to try to improve where possible, even when not always initially popular.
It's a real balancing act between not standing still, and, as a consequence, falling behind, and not acting in haste and repenting at leisure. Luckily for me it's not on my shoulders to get the balance right. ????
6.) 02 Jun 2026 22:13:11
Get some people that will ruffle the odd feather & want to win. White fits but I don't want a player like that. Let's get a few winners who speak up and take us to the next level. Someone who wants to pass fast & forward, take a chance with a thru ball or a shot from outside the area.
We dont want cookie cutters - im not saying trouble, but look at how lazy Eze appears, how comfortable Ode is running round in circles. Let's be brave and go to next level.
01 Jun 2026 02:25:20
We are champions. We are champions. We are champions. London is Red. We choked the bird on a ball and spanked the Blues with it. We are champions. We are champions. Watch us rule World. Long live Arteta n the Team. Come on down join the Party. We are champions. We are champions.
18 May 2026 09:39:30
Tonight's game is one of the biggest games we have faced in the last 20 years.
I'm hoping the team is up for a tough game and come out al gus blazing. We need to secure three points.
Come on you Gunners, let's get behind the team and get us through this season and become champions.
1.) 18 May 2026 10:24:10
For sure, G4E, this is the most important game for us, which will define our next seasons as well.
Win tonight, and I think Bournemouth will do us a huge favour tomorrow.
If it goes to the last game, it will be nerve-racking, not only for the fans, but the team as well.
COYG!
2.) 18 May 2026 12:33:57
4 Nil tonight - COYG.
3.) 18 May 2026 15:13:44
I was hoping 3-0.
4.) 18 May 2026 16:12:41
I think we will be surprised with Burnley's fight tonight. If our players are of the same mentality as Sy4 and Highbury, it may end up with custard on our faces. Hope the boys dig in deep.
Even a 1 nil win by our former top scorer OG corner free kick I don't mind, as long as we get the three points. Really nervous, contemplating missing the game, so I don't jinx it.
5.) 18 May 2026 17:49:11
That's what we are discussing G4E, that mentality of we should 'somehow win the game' 'somehow win the league'. Against an already relegated team and a bottom half team with one eye on their European final, we are still not confident we will win. I understand the anxiety and apprehension from the previous seasons, but we must be fairly positive.
If we get custard on the face, then we definitely don't deserve to win. We should then just hope that City are deducted points for their ongoing charges and they hand over the trophy to us.
Having said that, it is a Must win game for us tonight!
6.) 18 May 2026 19:12:10
I'm not self entitled, but they are relegated and we have a super important home game to almost tie up the league. I'm thinking we are 200% up for it, attack, fight, put bodies on the line like our lives depend on it. If not, then shame on Arteta and the players.
7.) 18 May 2026 19:14:58
G4E, I would say the opposite. If you talk like that, your demands on our club, players, and manager aren't high enough. What would City do? We are either killers or we aren't. Games like this should be a home banker, or we got the wrong set up. See you on live chat. ?
8.) 18 May 2026 19:42:34
Where can I access live chat?
{Ed033's Note - can you see the following text before the start of the posts? - The real time Arsenal Live Chat page will be open for you to talk to each other 1 hour before and during today's Arsenal game.
9.) 18 May 2026 19:52:05
It's at the top of this page, just below the links to the other sites.
13 Jan 2026 11:26:57
Hopefully the competition for the RW will give him boost. Not really content with Noni to early pass judgement but his shooting is not there yet for me.
07 Nov 2025 15:16:29
Has been turning up about this time of year for the past for seasons and then goes off injured by january. I do like him and hope we can serious look at the medical issue with our team. Do we need to look at better facilities maybe training schedules better doctors and physicians.
{Ed025's Note - getting rid of him is the correct plan G4E, well past his sell by date mate and to be honest a bit of a liability when he does play, just my opinion though..
09 Mar 2025 09:38:22
Andrea Berta is a step in the right direction. If he gets the financial backing and players coming back from injuries Next season has to be a phenomanal season for us.
02 Feb 2025 15:47:47
unfortunetly I am getting ready for the fall out in the upcoming weeks when the club states we tried (Watkins) but nothing availble, and Nwaneri is like a new signing.
02 Feb 2025 13:52:41
I thought about that until I heard he turned down Tottenham for potential loan deal at man united.
12 Sep 2026 18:29:18
I don't disagree with wanting better signings. If we didn't look to improve, and stood still, that would be the same as going backwards. What I do have a problem with is this instant success some of us look to get, and the fire and fire mentality. If a change is made, give it time to bed in, work the system, and then adjust. If a player is bought on a multiple year contract, don't get the knives out after season one.
This window, we all saw us being linked to players who turned us down. The day is on where players of a very high calibre will be knocking Berta's door for him to sign them. It's coming, boys. It's not going to be easy, and it won't happen overnight, but we are almost there.
Stay together, stick to the process. F*** the others. It's all about us, and we are the champions, and will remain for a long time to come.
12 Sep 2026 07:45:22
It was not long ago we were all saying the same thing about Kai. Some called him a donkey. Some called for Arteta to be sacked for bringing him in. The same with Raya replacing Ramsdale. We are too quick to jump down the firing line. Give the lad time to play and adapt. At first, he scored more than I anticipated. Currently, he has had very little game time, and the team is still adapting. The beauty of our team is we are not depending on one player to bring the goals in.
Give it time, and Victor will become victorious. Just look at teams who go down the hire-and-fire route. We are in a great position; trust the process, and watch us eclipse the Fergie era and the Liverpool era. Looking at our team, management, and fans, we are in a very strong position. Let the people that are paid very well do their job n let us do ours. Enjoy the games n support the team, be that extra man on the pitch.
04 Sep 2026 11:49:17
Can't wait.
We are the current champions, and we will be retaining our crown for many seasons to come. I think Chelsea are going to be close, as they don't have much else this season to aim for.
Champions League is going to be tricky. I hope we can add the cups to our collection this season too; we have enough depth.
We are the champions and will remain for many seasons to come. This is going to be the Arsenal era. We are in a very strong position, and I see goals coming in from all angles. Teams won't know who to watch out for.
27 Aug 2026 19:22:03
All good, DG. It's my personal opinion. I felt that he has more potential and will give a lot more in the coming years. I'm not a football genius, and I don't have inside workings of the club and the football market.
I do think we are in a better position than we were 22 years ago, and I don't think the decline over the 22 years was down to sentimental fans who wanted to stick with players past their prime. Cheer up, pal, they are all opinions.

Because they spend billions on the officials.
