Looks like Julian Alvarez could be on the move. Wish we could have signed him. He'd definitely hit the ground running and would be an excellent addition to the squad.

Guess he’s a replacement for Kiwior and once Kiwior and Zinchenko are sold we have 7 defenders- Hincapie makes 8 and can cover LB and CB. No idea if he’s any good - seen him mentioned across the sites but if he’s an upgrade then ? . Maybe Saka not missing many games hopefully maybe waiting for Jesus to cover come October time. Just hope Victor stays fit - seems risky - one Hincapie=1 Watkins but need two defenders in each position I guess COYG.

Context is important Sussex. You're counting defenders as a whole whereas we're looking at CBs. We have four at for two positions with one looking to leave whereas you all already have 6 CBs and are looking to add one more. Maybe it is Arteta's ultimate game plan to fill his entire starting 11 with them eh? He's already more than halfway there ;)

White, Mosquera, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori, Timber. That's six right there.
And before you say that White, Calafiori, and Timber aren't CBs since they play as RBs/ LBs for you, I would just like to add that they were primarily playing as CBs in the previous clubs before they moved to Arsenal. Similar to how Hincapie is playing as a CB now for Leverkusen.

That will be a very bad situation, us mates were discussing if we get another winger and Martinelli and Trossard stay, then it will greatly limit Nwaneri’s game time so should he be sent on loan? He should be developed as Odegard’s successor and rotate with him if he doesn’t go on loan.

I'm surprised to hear we're extending Trossards contract, two back up LWs? .
Nwanieri has bags of potential and he'll know he's good enough to play but rightly doesn't fancy his chances of taking Ode or Saka's positions. You'd very much hope we'd send on loan or at the very least include a buy back, but this PSR nonsense has really been financially motivating teams to sell off all their academy talent.
I hope he stays.

Are there genuine rumours or is it all coming from Ben White saying that it's unfortunate Nwaneri has Saka and Odegaard ahead of him? He's still a kid and he'll get a lot of games. Saka needs a rest from time to time and Odegaard has not been untouchable this season.
Agree that Dowman looks unbelievable though. Long term surely we want to be starting both if they progress like they have been?

Prior to yesterday, I'll admit to feeling that we just weren't addressing the key areas that needed addressed. For me those were LW and CB. I felt we were properly covered in other areas - well, maybe a RB.
My surprise was how Prem ready Tzolis looked. Lad has hit the ground running and is quite industrious. I'm hoping he has a great season and scores a few goals.
Mosquera, I liked the look of this lad last season, but he did also look like someone who had a mistake or two in him.
He was brilliant yesterday and he made me remember that even Saliba has a mistake or two in him.
I'm not sure if we'll see any more incomings, but will say we've got a very very decent squad.
MLS's pass for a Fury goal was sublime. Just thought that needed a mention. Ode is looking like the player from a few seasons ago. I hope he stays fit and in this vein of form.

I've seen others say we need an RB, but it makes no sense to me.

Hi Stoner, personally I think we need someone to cover CB/RB for injuries (Saliba & Timber) . I'd still want a LW (Saka quality) , so we have cover & quality, esp as Tzolis will need to get up to speed & play lots of games. Great if he was the cover.
Surely we want players at Saka, Rice, Gabs & Saliba in every position.
That's not being disrespectful to the squad or team. With that said, we need a decent striker that, like Haaland, gives defenders nightmares. Kai & Vic can be back up, with Jesus sold.
To win the Champions League & defend the league successfully, which we haven't done for 90 years, we will need upgrades.

I'm not convinced by either Konsa or Quansah, especially the latter. Why did Liverpool get rid when their defence is pants?
But if Konsa is a backup then maybe ok.
Hopefully Timber, with rotation, will be fine for the majority of the big games.
All a bit in the dark with Saliba.
I'd like Alvarez from Atletico. Don't fancy Oshimen; must be a reason why no big clubs want him.
Hopefully we have goals from all our mids and forwards if we play like we did Sunday.

Tzolis is an excellent replacement/upgrade to the brilliant Leo. And, ? we keep Martinelli as a strong left side back up/cup/impact player. Saka/Madueke right side, maybe Konsa and White as back up for Timber. Mosquera, Salmon, Gabbie, Saliba, Hincapie.
MLS can play defence and midfield. Taking of our midfield, it is world class. Even the squad players are high quality. For me, only a quality direct threat on goal is needed desperately right now.

Stoner, RB, simply because we can't seem to keep the otherwise exceptional Timber fit. That's the only reason, really. When he's fit, the lad is simply brilliant.

Banbury, it does seem quite an odd window. Trossard, Martinelli, Jesus and Nwaneri out when the area of the pitch we've struggled with is attack.
I guess we'll see where the chips lie soon enough. Can't say I'm wholly confident though.
