See Benny Sesko move is facing a new challenge from the Middle East.
1.) 10 Jun 2025 11:37:14
I've read he still wants European football Banbury. Hope so!
2.) 10 Jun 2025 12:58:58
I hope so Sally, let's get it done eh?
3.) 10 Jun 2025 23:06:47
Surely the biggest issue is us trying to get him for way less than buy out amount or whatever the term is. Lowballing offers ?.
4.) 11 Jun 2025 09:25:50
Feck it let's pay whatever they want ( it’s called negotiating) and once we’ve paid too much whacked his wages through the roof and he’s not that great we can moan all season a bit like Kai perhaps? Also maybe that extra £10 mill might be the difference between getting say Garnacho ( NO! ) and Laeo. Cat the moment maybe we are choosing to slam the club and its transfer policy while knowing feck all! I apologise for language and trying not to labour the point ? COYG.
5.) 11 Jun 2025 18:45:15
Well said Cumbria mate ?.
6.) 12 Jun 2025 11:15:06
Sy I know we have a history of doing that, but I don't think that is the case with Sesko,
I believe he has a Movable (stupid idea) release clause, so I think the RB are chancing their arm a bit as they know we have chased for 2 years and now there is saudi money involved. I think we will get him for less than they are trying to say, as, according to all the reports, those have always been the figures talked about.
funny how Liverpool don't get the same criticism as arsenal for going in under a figure that the club wants. they are short of Wirtz asking price but have been largely applauded for making the offer.
7.) 12 Jun 2025 15:59:12
You’re right Hampshire, if true it’s Liverpool’s third bid! I say even if you will pay the full amount put in a lower offer. I guess it’s a fine line between taking the mick and a sensible lower offer! COYG.
{Ed014's Note - please tell me you’re not labouring this point Sussex! ?
8.) 12 Jun 2025 22:10:09
?? I’m labouring the labouring the point point COYG.
9.) 12 Jun 2025 22:07:59

Sorry Sussex - are you saying Kai was a good purchase or are you painfully using him as a good example of a great negotiation? A player Chelsea probably could not believe anyone would want, getting 65m for EHI. egiving him the highest wage at the club while not being a player we needed. Strange point.
So if a house is on the market - offers over 2m. You think offering 1.2m is reasonable if the 2m probably isn’t a million miles away. Have you ever negotiated anything? It’s a stupid way of pretending you are interested or missing out on players you want ( sound familiar ) or getting them so late thst they don’t do preseason training with the club.
I’m not saying don’t negotiate as I’m not stupid enough to think 5m saved won’t get us a Chelsea keeper. Give me a break mate - I’ve been around and got a bit of experience. Picking Kai as example is laughable.
Crap negotiation for a player who isn’t good enough and we don’t need. That signing encapsulates what’s wrong with our club for me. Hard work over goals and not paying more for what we really need. Perhaps buying a player who’s easy to manage rather than a difficult winner who will be ruthless in front of goal but may be not track back. Was Wrighty a good defender or a good goal order. Or Anelka…. Neither of which we would sign as they like to score rather than defend.
11.) 15 Jun 2025 05:27:43
My post had nothing to do with Kai his transfer or ability! It was about you constantly slagging him off - labouring the point- and classicly you reply …. slagging Kai off! Oh and the club and MA. Not enlightening in any way shape or form, for me anyway COYG.
07 May 2025 12:00:05
Kudus
Reports that we are in for him from W Ham. surely not.
1.) 07 May 2025 14:31:34
Ed totally appreciate its way too early to be talking transfers. With K De Bryne out of contract and Martin under performing since becoming Vegan, Any whispers of any interest big or small in De Bryne who is apparently open to staying in the PL? He is 33 and would want a hefty Salary I imagine.
{Ed014's Note - I just can’t see that happening mate, I also don’t think he really has a lot left in the tank, injuries are an issue too, let alone, as you say, the likely size of his wages.
I hadn’t realised Odegaard had become vegan, I looked at him in the training photos yesterday and he looked so gaunt.
He looked ill to be honest.
2.) 08 May 2025 18:41:42
That's what I have been thinking ED14. He seems so gaunt in the face, I was worried it could be an eating disorder .
{Ed014's Note - hopefully what ever the issue is Sally he manages to resolve it over the summer, it was a little shocking to see him looking that way.
23 Jul 2024 10:18:06
Hi Eds
Any news on a potential Centre Forward, surely we need one?
{Ed002's Note - We have been through this.}

Steady performance from the boys, like to have seen big Vic take the penalty, he needs a few more chances created.
Hopefully MO will be back soon and Dec is ok.
1.) 06 Oct 2025 18:41:21
Banbury How's it going?
I don't think Marty will be missed
We have strength on the bench now, have never seen such a strong squad.
22 Sep 2025 07:10:45
Disappointing the way Arteta set up, Eze must be a bit puzzled, in saying that so must Trossard be LOL
On the City goal WTF was our defence doing, it was non existent and it made Haaland look like Usain Bolt, Gabriel looked as though his feet were tied together.
But we recovered well and grabbed a point at least.
1.) 23 Sep 2025 03:08:08
As irritated as the fans are for starting Merino over Eze or Nwaneri, I thought we looked incredibly good for the first 10 minutes before Haaland scored. I could see the plan - we just got done by a really dumb error. First time I've seen our defence get caught out like that in years. Once the halftime changes came on, we were dominant again, so this is probably a bit of a wake-up call to Arteta that a win and a loss is worth more than two draws - we probably should be gambling on the win a little more.
2.) 23 Sep 2025 12:57:17
Hi Wire mate, the manager put a huge question mark above his own head with his fearful team selection and game plan against Liverpool, unfortunately he reenforced that question mark over his mentality with his team selection against City.
If he'd come away with 6pts from those 2 games he'd have got away with his negative mentality but ultimately he only just managed to scape a 1pt from the 6pts on offer in added time against a very beatable Man City. Mikel himself has sadly given people a very big stick to beat him with and it's no surprise that people more and more people are now using that stick against him.
It will take him a long time to shake off the reputation he's truly earned for himself over the last fortnight mate.
3.) 23 Sep 2025 15:08:19
Sure G62, I guess my post wasn't very clear, but I meant that when we concede first, we tend to look overly cautious when we can afford to free up the attacking players a bit.
To be fair to Arteta, I think he's adapted a lot over his tenure, so I think he's going to figure it out.
4.) 23 Sep 2025 16:48:09
Hi Wire mate, in the 3 seasons before Arteta came along we had finished 6th 5th and 5th again if memory serves me right, initially he took us to 8th and 8th again which was awful, then he took us back to where he found us in 5th place.
During the last 3 seasons he's put us right back among the big boys and things have been the best they have been at the club for a very long time in my opinion he's done a fantastic job of putting Arsenal football Club back on the map of elite clubs, so no matter what happens in the month's ahead we have an awful lot to thank him for but he's in real danger of losing the crowd, not because of results but because of his fearful mentality.
I for one would have accepted a 1 0 defeat at Anfield as a 50/ 50 game that simply didn't go our way on the day had we stood up tall and went for all 3pts from start to finish simply because I genuinely believe we are every bit Liverpools equals, again against City i would have accepted a 1 1 draw as a disappointing result but simply one of those things if we'd taken to the field looking to show how far we've come and that our approach to the Liverpool game was a one off mistake, but unfortunately it Arteta showed he had no regrets about his approach at Liverpool.
I personally think we are far better than Arteta allows us to show ourselves to be and for me that's far more disappointing than results not always going as I'd like them to go.
{Ed025's Note - im with you G62..
5.) 23 Sep 2025 18:58:41
Hi Ed025 mate, it would be such a shame if Arteta allows his inferiority complex to deny him the honour of seeing the brilliant job he's done to its ultimate conclusion.
Last season with a heavily depleted squad he and his players went for it 100% and totally stunned the footballing world by playing Real Madrid off the park home and away, yet now armed with the best Arsenal squad in two decades he decides to try and play it safe, that makes no sense to me at all mate.
{Ed025's Note - nor me G62, which tells me that he is a very good No2 but maybe not a great No1 mate..
6.) 23 Sep 2025 22:14:33
Welcome back 62 - refreshing post from you and I 100%agree with you.
For me 6 points were on the table but the boss set us up thinking there were 2 points. He needs to figure out he’s brought us back to where we should be and now we play like the big boys. 1 win is better than two draws. Back when it was 2 pts for a win may be that was ok. Not now.
We do have a lot to thank him for but he’s had a huge wage bill and 1Bn pounds - plus >10m wage.
01 Sep 2025 09:52:23
We have assembled an excellent squad, a squad that should challenge on ALL fronts, the question and spotlight now is firmly on Arteta.
It's clearly evident that he might struggle to take us success. he has 32 weeks left IMO
Why didn't out club captain or Eza start?
It's baffling.
1.) 01 Sep 2025 11:20:57
Because Eze has only trained with the squad for a week, and Odegaard was not fully fit?
2.) 01 Sep 2025 12:12:22
Odegaard wasn't fully fit however I do believe nwaneri should've started there over merino. Left wing I genuinely believe eze who as you say wire trained with the squad for a week would've still made more of an input that martenelli.
3.) 01 Sep 2025 12:56:22
Not buying into that WIRE, Eze is fit, it's a round white thing we have to pass to each other, that's an excuse . Equally why are we then risking MO, if fit enough on the bench then he can play.
4.) 01 Sep 2025 13:28:22
LFC fan in peace the squad Arsenal have should be winning the premier league but i think you are being held back by your manager to me and no disrepect he will not let your players play with freedom they always seem to be looking at Arteta incase they have done something wrong . The manager of Crystal Palace is the manager for your club he is an excelent manager/ coach if we did not have Arne i would like him they play great football because he let's his player express their talents . Good luck for rest of the season gooners.
31 Aug 2025 18:39:08
I expected at least a draw, we looked toothless in my opinion. Arteta has much work to do BUT BUT BUT very early days for sure.
Just wondering if anyone else will join, we have just over 24 hours.
1.) 31 Aug 2025 20:02:12
Very disappointing mate, i felt 3pts were there for the taking today and we didn't make the most of the strength in depth and talent we now have available and go for it.
As you say a very long way to go mate and although today is definitely a disappointing set back its far from a season defining disaster.
2.) 31 Aug 2025 20:47:31
Very disappointing result, and martinele is becoming useless Madueke had a better game but the fact our striker had zero service is very painful. So many times where Gyogeres makes a useful run but they chose to go side ways.
Ok the game was decided with a wonderful goal but we offered nothing as the game was there for the taking if we showed some guts.
3.) 31 Aug 2025 21:13:11
Hi Moe mate, I've always been a big Martinelli fan but he's not kept pace with the teams improvement and unfortunately for him as the team have got better he seems to have gone backwards. I think come January or next summer it might be time to thank him for the memories and both go our separate ways, sadly.
{Ed025's Note - he was totally crap G62, as were most of the team today, very passive until they scored mate and by then it was too late, Liverpool were there for the taking today but you shat yourselves and from the first minute played for a draw, a great free kick won it but Arsenal were a disgrace imo and you got what you deserved...nothing..
4.) 31 Aug 2025 21:42:12
So right ED025, Arsenal were totally crap and Artita is holding them back. Try to win games Wimbledon of old style, corner to win a game.
{Ed025's Note - it was embarrassing EbW, at least have a go ffs and if you had played to win then at least you had a chance, you sat back all game and if this is the best you can offer then i suggest you pack in mate..
5.) 31 Aug 2025 21:55:28
Hi Ed025, very disappointed with our approach today mate, i agree Liverpool were there for the taking and we simply didn't go for it. A long way to go but today has to be the only time this happens, we've played our joker card for the 2025/ 26 season and after the international break we have to show we have the minerals.
The only absolutely minuscule piece positivity i can find is how absolutely gutted we all are that we didn't get 3pts away from home against defending champions, standards have never been higher.
{Ed025's Note - it was terrible G62, they were crap and you were crapper, why play Martinelli he is hopeless and always has been, and Madueke as a replacement for Saka?...your having a laugh, disgraceful performance and you got what you deserved mate...nothing..
6.) 31 Aug 2025 22:11:14
Cannot disagree with anything you said Ed mate. The missus thought i was going to smash the telly. I am not going to blame the players as this shocking performance lays fairly and squarely at Arteta, s door.
Getting on to a more calming subject, your new stadium looks very impressive Ed mate.
{Ed025's Note - thanks bill it looks great mate, but i agree with you on Arteta mate, get rid now if thats the best you can serve up, it was pathetic mate..
7.) 31 Aug 2025 22:30:42
Hi Ed025, it's impossible to have a like for like stannd in for Saka and i think Madueke did ok today and he's a good signing for us.
{Ed025's Note - very wishy washy for me G62 but was probably your MOTM..2/10..
23 Aug 2025 19:51:04

Can't see any departures now we have picked up injuries, just why do we get so many

24 Sep 2025 12:18:21
I sit in your camp SY, I can't say it's good if it's not.
Because of the BIG money signings the club are under more scrutiny than before, 2 years ago we would have got away with a 1-1 against City but in 2025 we are stronger and they are weaker so it's going to create criticism .
I still believe we will win something. but what, that's the question.
22 Sep 2025 11:38:27
It's an opinion MOE and it's facts and they don't lie, winning is ok and trophies always are key so let's see. I am not turning on Gyokeres as I had doubts from the start but if we aren't getting him the ball he has zero chance to prove himself.
We have a very strong squad and I expect a trophy this season for sure. as for praising when they win hmmmmmmm really, as Roy Keane says " it's their job " :)
5-0 v Leeds expected 3-0 v Forest expected, I haven't seen a performance that raises the brow yet, but for sure we have the squad to do it, an excellent squad it is.
22 Sep 2025 06:43:17
Hi SY
Firstly is that his fault though? Is it the way we set up that denies us getting the ball to him?
I also have had my doubts about him, if he is that good why didn't other clubs sniff around him when he was at Coventry. Don't get me wrong but 2 against newly promoted Leeds and a 5 yard tap in against Forest isn't frightening anyone, I really hope hope he can get going though.
Funnily enough I bet a work colleague that Havertz would score more than Gyokeres. he still could :)
