According to one news outlet we have passed up on Sterling and Coman both.
If that's true then we go with what we got
COYG.

Highburybill

1.) 30 Aug 2024 19:56:56
Apparently we're back in talks for sterling.

2.) 30 Aug 2024 21:12:27
Apparently so Bristow mate.

3.) 30 Aug 2024 23:38:13
Taking their time ain't they haha.

23 Aug 2024 18:23:27
Fabio going back to Porto on loan
Surprised tbh.

Highburybill

1.) 23 Aug 2024 19:18:58
That came out of the blue HB!

2.) 23 Aug 2024 19:46:09
Yes it did Sally
Hope he returns to us, think there is a very good footballer in there somewhere.

3.) 23 Aug 2024 20:58:08
I think it's a great move, he needs to be playing to get his confidence back and couldn't ask for a better place than somewhere he's familiar.

He's barely going to play here to build any confidence or rhythm here.

Nwaneri may even have gone above him in terms of who would get any available minutes for a run out.

Hopefully it goes well for him.

4.) 24 Aug 2024 08:41:33
I agree, this is a win-win-win. He's getting regular game time at an age where it's make or break, he frees up space for Nwaneri, and he probably improves his stock if we choose to sell next year.

Hello everyone.
Would like to ask the Eds about our striking options.
Sesko, Osminhen, Rashford, Isak. Toney
They are main ones being linked.
If it came down to personal choice who would be their choice and why.
Have not seen hard anything of Sesko or Osimhen, so out of the other 3 my choice would be Isak
My thanks in advance.

Highburybill

{Ed002's Note - I have already answered about Osimhen and Sesko today.

Marcus Rashford (LW/F) Much will depend on what happens in the summer regarding a new coach, but I am sure Manchester United will be regretting the new long-term contract. A third-party has spoken to clubs, including Juventus and Arsenal about him on behalf of Manchester United, but I am not aware of any serious interest and both clubs have other targets. Spurs may offer a wildcard solution to replace Richarlison. Suggestion that he could be a Mbappe replacement at PSG seem far-fetched given they have other clear targets in mind.

Alexander Isak (S) Newcastle have no intention of selling Isak and will let Bruno Guimaraes be sold.

Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer - but will likely not get anything close to that. Newcastle, if they can sell their project to him, offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there - but that would only be in the most unlikely event they lose Isak. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban, but Chelsea and Spurs have preferred options meaning West Ham, Arsenal or Manchester United are likely best placed to complete a transfer. First choice for Arsenal.}

1.) 04 Jun 2024 13:09:42
Thanks Ed mate
In depth as always.

2.) 05 Jun 2024 13:15:29
Arsenal have moved on from Toney. Sesko is priority it seems.

{Ed002's Note - What if Sesko signs for one of the other interested sides?}

3.) 05 Jun 2024 22:10:32
Then we move onto the next option but there is no way he chooses Chelsea or UTD over Arsenal. Chelsea are a shambles of a club.

4.) 07 Jun 2024 10:30:08
Money talks mate if they offer more wages then arsenal he might join them.

5.) 07 Jun 2024 16:53:46
A shambles of a club? We took 2 years off to rebuild after the sanctions and sale of the club. Hopefully coming together now and looking forward to giving you lot a challenge next season. In peace.

6.) 08 Jun 2024 21:40:51
Chelsea have quickly turned in Tottenham unless they get their act together and get world class manager they ain't winning anything.

7.) 09 Jun 2024 08:16:02
Ed002 is sesko going to chelsea then? And what is stopping us doing the toney deal now? He has a year left and a deal should be pretty straightforward i would guess? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Benjamin Sesko (S/F) RBL could be offered a quick profit. His agent has not stopped offering the player around since his move to RBL. Described by a well known ex-Premier League player and high-end scout as "raw but improving". Was on the list for Spurs as a potential Kane replacement but their interest has moved on to another player that they are now pushing for. Newcastle enquired as they were concerned they will lose Isak - but continue to struggle to sell their project to players and will look to keep hold of Isak over Guimaraes. They can now be discounted. Borussia Dortmund offer a wildcard solution. Chelsea have spoken with his agent when they had a preferred option, do not discount them as he is now likely their first choice. Arsenal have met with his agent but he appears to only be second choice for them still. Milan offer an option as a potential Giroud replacement and they are looking at adding two strikers this coming summer, but they are resigned to not signing Sesko and are looking to another now. A option for Manchester United who need to replace Anthony Martial this summer - but Sesko will not move to simply be cover so that needs to be clarified. Does not want to move to Saudi Arabia but is on Michael Emenalo's list. The release clause will be be €65M until June 30 after which his cost will go up - but RBL want an answer before the Euros begin so they can secure their preferred replacement. Chelsea would look to a deal on the cusp of the year end with the fee not paid before July 1 unless they are pushed.

There is nothing stopping Arsenal making an offer for Toney.}

Hello Ed
Have Arsenal shown a interest in Brian Brobbey of Ajax
Much appreciate your insight.

Highburybill

{Ed002's Note - Brian Brobbey (S) Everton interest remains but so does their financial plight. Manchester United interest will go with ten Hag. A wildcard would be Arsenal. Ajax will not want to sell.}

1.) 21 May 2024 13:31:38
Cheers Ed
Much appreciated.

Good point Saga mate.

3.) 31 Oct 2024 09:15:49
Saga! Where have you been? Hope all's well with you mate.

4.) 31 Oct 2024 10:16:09
Still on for the quadruple ?.

5.) 01 Nov 2024 14:03:29
Hi Mr Sharp. Been a tough few months, but some good news recently my cancer has leveled off for 2 months my daily pill has been dropped and slowly coming off the steroids, which were causing real aggravation so all in all looking a lot better for the 1st time in 2 yrs. Not out of the woods yet but the trees ain't so big. How are you and yours mate all good I hope.

28 Oct 2024 10:37:27
4 really tough away games on the bounce before international break
Hopefully we will get the results we need, no more injuries in the international break and then everyone in the squad fit and raring to after the break.
COYG.

That's the plan Bill mate. As long as you and me continue to dance around an open fire naked at midnight singing Bewitched songs while drinking dark rum each and every Friday night, what could possibly go wrong mate ?.

2.) 28 Oct 2024 11:34:08
We could get arrested John mate and christ knows what the wife would say.

3.) 28 Oct 2024 12:03:03
Fair comment Bill, OK let's ditch the Bewitched songs and go for Frank Sinatra "you go me under your spell" that should keep both your missus and the local constabulary happy mate ????.

4.) 28 Oct 2024 14:00:58
????.

5.) 28 Oct 2024 17:49:42
? ? ? ? ? ?.

27 Oct 2024 21:18:23
Hello everyone, just got in.
Fantastic day
Fantastic performance.
Gave it everything.
Stadium was banging.
Unfortunately my pointed hat and cauldron was confiscated at the turnstile so I could not implement my dark arts plan, sorry Gooners.

Highburybill

1.) 27 Oct 2024 21:53:40
You made an outstanding contribution just by being there Bill mate even without your pointed hat and cauldron, the Liverpool players were viasbly aware of your presence and the fact if they accidentally made eye contact with you they'd be automatically turned to stone and sold to Man United, they looked terrifyd to me mate. ???.

2.) 27 Oct 2024 22:00:15
Hi bill, hope all’s well mate, glad you had a good day. gutted you didn’t get in with your pointed hat and cauldron.

3.) 27 Oct 2024 23:49:59
You aren't alone Bill. I heard Arteta tried to bring in his voodoo dolls and sacrificial virgins, and the 4th official made him leave them at home. Unbelievable that our natural game has been stifled like this.

4.) 28 Oct 2024 06:39:10
Thanks for all your posts guys.
Ain't it great to be a Gooner❤️??.

27 Oct 2024 08:46:02
Saka and Timber are in the squad apparently????.

Highburybill

1.) 27 Oct 2024 10:46:44
I hope they are both fit to play Bill mate ? I just hope we don't panic and bring them back too soon and end up losing them for much longer than necessary. The premier league race is a marathon not a sprint and nothing will be decided today regardless of us winning losing or drawing.

2.) 27 Oct 2024 10:52:56
Morning Billy and John

I just have a good feeling we are going to win, what ever team we put out.

3.) 27 Oct 2024 11:02:03
Hello John mate, I think Timber is fit and raring to go, but as you rightly say it's Saka that could be a gamble that backfires.
I am very fortunate to be going to the game today, look out for me, I will be the one wearing a pointed hat, holding a cauldron which will be bubbling and shouting out gobblygook??.

4.) 27 Oct 2024 11:32:58
Morning Mal mate, hope everyone is good.
I have put down 1-0 to us on my SUPER6
COYG.

5.) 27 Oct 2024 11:46:59
Excellent Bill mate, I'm counting on you to voodoo and vex us to victory mate, may Liverpool have no resistance to your dark powers and those dark powers of our player's manager and millions of beastly and ghostly gooners around world who will casting our dark spells in Liverpools direction for 90 minutes plus this afternoon ?‍♀️ ?‍♂️ ?‍♀️ ?‍♂️ ? ? ???????????.

6.) 27 Oct 2024 11:51:08
Hope your right Mark mate, I am relying on you to play your dark part this afternoon on live chat to make your prediction a dark reality that haunts Liverpool all the way back to Anfield.

Oh and Bill, have a brilliant day at the game mate, up the Arsenal ????.

7.) 27 Oct 2024 11:52:42
All good Billy mate, enjoy the game mate.

8.) 27 Oct 2024 15:33:46
Starting 11 stronger than I expected ?, keeping 11 player's on the pitch for the full game is imperative, no room for moments of madness or giving the ref unnecessary decisions to get right or wrong. Control the Controllable and avoid the avoidable ????.

24 Oct 2024 17:03:43
Defence wise, we are looking a bit thin for Sunday aren't we.

Highburybill

1.) 24 Oct 2024 20:47:01
It worries me that Zinchenko may have to start and he always struggles against Salah.
Wouldn’t be surprised our defence is- Partey White Gabriel Zinchenko.

2.) 25 Oct 2024 08:21:29
We look a bit thin everywhere Bill mate but we do have a lot of injuries to some of our very best players and of course Saliba is suspended. its impossible to plan for a time when you don't have Saka Ode and Saliba available as you can't have an alternative Saka Ode and Saliba sat on the beach just incase. It's just one of those things and we have to go with what we have and somehow get something out of the game.

3.) 25 Oct 2024 10:42:42
Hopefully John mate, we will get something out of the game?.

4.) 25 Oct 2024 13:12:09
That would be an awesome achievement with so many key players absent Bill mate ?. I'm certainly not feeling defeatist but I do appreciate the size of the task ahead without so many of our best players being available, a draw would be an excellent result while getting 3 points would as I said at the beginning of my comment awesome.

It's not about making excuses just in case we lose but we have to be honest about the task we face and not over react should we come away empty handed, Liverpool fan's will I'm sure be expecting their excellent team to capitalise on us being so far below full strength I know we would if the boot was on the other foot ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️.

5.) 25 Oct 2024 21:34:47
I reckon we should take our 'dark arts' to the next level on Sunday Bill, our players should hypnotise the Liverpool players in the tunnel to believing they are goldfish so they run round and round the touchline for 90 minutes shouting Bob Bob Bob to each other ???.

6.) 26 Oct 2024 08:45:18
Have you spoke to Mikel about this John, I think you could be on to something.

7.) 26 Oct 2024 10:09:15
Hi Bill, the way I see it is, if you've got fluant it. If we really are the masters of the dark arts we'd be crazy not to turn Pep into a duck the week before play City and Liverpool players into goldfish for 90 minutes, there is absolutely nothing in the rule book to say we can't do this ????.

8.) 26 Oct 2024 12:31:35
Absolutely agree John
Doesn't even come close to the 115 financial irregularities but if you turned Pep into a duck then very soon after you turned Salah into a goldfish we might get into trouble with monopolies commission for over use of the dark arts.
I think I need to lay down in a dark room till after the game tomorrow.

9.) 26 Oct 2024 13:07:11
I think its good to embrace the ridiculous and have fun with other people's crazy talk Bill mate.

Maybe we could use our dark powers to put a hex everyone but Arsenal fans tomorrow where Saliba looks like Trossard to everyone but us for 90 minutes ?.

10.) 26 Oct 2024 13:42:11
Now that's a plan John mate.

Just seen it Glenn.
Tbh his recruitment policy concerning strikers has not been great imo.
Wasted transfer windows chasing Vlahovic/ Sesko when perhaps we should have gone after other options.
Then again what goes on behind the scenes concerning transfers stuff that we never hear about.

Some good defending but the rest was sloppy passing/ no creativity and poor finishing from us,

Hello Sy4 it would be wrong to make excuses and I will not make them.
Totally different mentality from what I saw at the Emirates last Sunday. The problem for me is we have drifted into late Wenger mode with tippy tippy football. We have had no run of consistency all season. If you compare Ben Whites ball to Saka last Sunday and boom in the net. Too much passing in and around the area and the final ball is bad, but then again we have not got Ode.
I am not in Arteta out mode yet but this needs to be sorted, I don't want to be in the Wenger mode hoping next season will be the one
