That's contradictory too, Dags. The scenario that you gave about Arteta reaching three finals and winning none of them, and finishing second is also a stupid extreme scenario. So can we say that your argument is poor as well?

That's fair them Sparky. But either one of Spurs or Utd would get a European Cup this season and would qualify for the CL next season. So all in all, they would still have had a more "successful" season in that regard.
I'm with Dags here actually. I think you have a team that's on the cusp of winning great things but the manager is the one holding you all back. Arteta did do well to get you all to this point but maybe an upgrade should be looked at as he seems unable to take that final step up from merely competing for titles to actually winning them.

Good run in the CL and you all can definitely hold your heads up high. There's no shame in losing to what is in my opinion the best team in the CL this season. I still think you all would be right up there again next season and getting a new striker in may push you over the finish line next time.
And Ed014, please take no notice of the Liverpool main page. It has gotten increasingly toxic in recent weeks. It's like we haven't just won the PL with the things that have been posted on there.

The league is already done so not sure why that result would put a downer on anything. It's clear that Arteta is now putting all his eggs in the CL basket. What takes the cake is your own fans wishing you'd lose just so they can say "I told you so".
It's only half time and your team are only 1 goal down. Score an early one in Paris and who knows what might happen next. I can't fathom how a Liverpool fan has more belief that your team can pull through the second leg than some of the posters on here.
