Some good news and bad news from arsenal.
Finally announcing Zubimendi, agreeing terms with gyokeres and getting closer with sporting. But for thr love of god stay away from chelsea garbage for once and get Eze over the line.

It all seems great.
Zubimendi against stiff competition.
Kepa a quality back up keeper.
Nanweri has agreed new terms.
Gyokeres has agreed terms.
Rodrygo and Eze bids in.

Hey fellow gunners,
Hope you're all well.
I mean what hell is going on with arsenal and transfer. 1 day we are in for Eze which was brilliant link and suddenly we agreed term with this noni guy.
We nned a striker badly and we are dragging to get it done.

A lot will be going on behind closed doors that we are none the wiser off.

Seemingly Leo is off to Türkiye, Saudi clubs sniffing about Martinelli and if that is true opens up two spaces on the left.

Noni is back up for the right side and tbh he ain’t a bad option to have. Can’t keep pushing Saka he will be playing 50+ games and we seen how badly we struggled last season when he went off injured.

Berta is cooking something special.

So Chelsea are after auba.

Moe gunner

{Ed014's Note - that’s been doing the rounds for a while Moe.

1.) 18 Aug 2022 14:43:01
But we can't talk about it ?.

2.) 18 Aug 2022 16:12:53
What still? He must have had at 5 medicals by now.

16 Jun 2022 18:16:03
What? That came out of no where.
Fabio Viera welcome to arsenal.

Moe gunner

1.) 16 Jun 2022 19:48:24
Looks a good buy Moe mate.

2.) 16 Jun 2022 20:02:44
Seems like the papers don't know anything.

3.) 16 Jun 2022 20:32:09
If there is one thing I like about those who run the club is how they don't get involved in tittle tattle and just get on with the job quietly behind the scenes.

There is much I openly criticise them for but credit where it's due, in this they excel.

4.) 16 Jun 2022 20:59:23
And I am reading we are still in for Tielemans as well unless ED02 confirms otherwise. Me I like Tielemans ever since Monaco and a Belgian international - don`t understand the "don`t want him " stance VTH Tielemans and Jesus to follow - would be very happy sorry ED014 lol.

{Ed014's Note - don’t say I didn’t warn you when he turns out to be a dud! ??

5.) 16 Jun 2022 21:57:41
If the Papers are saying it Arsenal ain't really doing it, seems to be a very familiar trend in recent years Bucks mate, think sky, think lie ????.

6.) 16 Jun 2022 21:18:00
Maybe Ed but 50 caps at age 25 in a strong Belgium team - it`s a yes still. We have to buy him first though VTH.

{Ed014's Note - is that a Belgium team that have won nothing??

7.) 17 Jun 2022 07:29:33
What about an England side with Harry Kane that has won nothing. One player doesn't necessarily win tournemants. Look at Cristiano Ronaldo, arguably one of the best players in the world and where did Many finish.

23 Jan 2021 18:21:43
Anyone knows what's going on with auba?

Moe gunner

1.) 23 Jan 2021 23:04:24
Nope but it seems like it's going to be a while whatever it is. Doesn't sound great but hopefully everything is okay. Maybe it's time to let Balogun play step up in the first team 👀.

2.) 24 Jan 2021 01:23:32
Ffs glen get a room with Balogun! He does not want to play for arsenal his agent has turned his head with dollar signs, get over it.

3.) 24 Jan 2021 09:09:55
To be fair 337 multiple reliable journalist have said he wants to stay.

4.) 24 Jan 2021 09:17:10
Saying his mother passed away.

5.) 24 Jan 2021 12:03:31
337, wrong. His agent wants him to leave, he wants to stay. He's class and he deserves his moment over Eddie end of story. If he leaves it's another huge mistake. So thanks but no thanks 👍🏻.

6.) 24 Jan 2021 14:17:34
If he wants to stay then I suggest Balogan needs a new agent! On what earth should he be picked ahead of Nketiah? He scores a goal and plays well just makes it easier for his agent to get the price up elsewhere. Unless he signs a new contract with us he should never get near the first xi again.

7.) 24 Jan 2021 16:31:41
In fairness, Nketiah has not exactly set the world alight recently. Regardless of the position with Balogun's contract, whether he plays or not ought to depend on his ability to make a difference. It hardly needs pointing out that Nketiah, as well as Willian, Pepe and a few others, are at best making no difference at all.

8.) 24 Jan 2021 17:47:14
Thank you EG I’m glad someone else see’s that the club is bigger than the players especially an unproven kid!
If people need reminding how it should be read the story about when wrighty signed from palace
Basically he wanted to play for arsenal, his agent told him they needed to meet to sort out wage demands etc, wrighty told his agent “ I don’t care how much, just do the deal” then went out and bought his mum a colour TV.

9.) 24 Jan 2021 19:21:55
Just read that Balogan is 5th in line, behind Auba, Laca, Nketiah and Martinelli. If he signs the article says he will go out on loan, apparently that's the pathway the club has for him. Not sure if its true or not.

10.) 24 Jan 2021 19:49:03
That would be the perfect pathway I reckon sally, if he really really wants to stay his agent should listen to him and negotiate the best deal possible and he should sign it, unfortunately these young players are sometimes manipulated by agents to get the most money over happiness ( not saying his agent is doing this of course) 😜.

11.) 25 Jan 2021 10:06:25
I wouldn't play him unless he signed a new contract, end of.
Why put him in the shop window so he and his agent can get a better deal at another club?
Why put any more effort into developing a player whos leaving?

I see Arteta is saving his players for the Madrid game. And I think it's a good call.

Moe gunner

1.) 05 Apr 2025 13:15:04
Got to agree with you Moe mate.

2.) 05 Apr 2025 15:08:15
Hi Moe mate ?, beating Real would have everyone absolutely buzzing where as no disrespect to anyone but even if we had got 3 pts today few people would consider it party time.

I think you are spot on mate, Arteta was looking at the bigger picture and playing as safely as he dared to.

3.) 05 Apr 2025 19:43:33
A point further ahead of 3rd place and one game closer to the finishing line.

I've never been big on complaining about dodgy decisions as I think things usually even themselves up over a season, but we do seem to have had more than our fair share of both poor decisions and injuries to important players this season, but ultimately you have to deal with whatever comes your way to the best of your ability and in my opinion we're actually doing OK given the number of things that haven't quite gone our way this season.

05 Apr 2025 02:32:18
Sy, I see you mentioned me mate, what's up? Your opinion is your to have brother.
And yup I've been way too slow these days. Life is going way to quick for me, it hard to catch up to everything. But any way I still think arteta is the guy and we've been hit big time with injuries over the season and i doubt most of the transfers or not having a CF was the gaffer decision.

Moe gunner

1.) 05 Apr 2025 07:57:42
Hello Moe mate. You ok brother?

2.) 05 Apr 2025 10:35:25
Hi Moe, hope you are well. Fancy us against Real? Looking forward to it. Glad Saka is back….

3.) 05 Apr 2025 12:04:17
Hey Mal and SY, all good brother.
Sy you won't like What I'm about to say hahah. I fancy us against anyone especially saka is back but if I'm being realistic as you are is too tough especially now Gabi is injured, but I think we have a shot mate of uefa.

4.) 05 Apr 2025 18:48:45
Gabi out will be a miss. Perhaps it Arteta will just shut up shop, put a very defensive side out, protect the back 4 and hope Saka has a moment of magic to sneak it. Fingers crossed. Big ask but we are the Arsenal ?❤️.

15 Mar 2025 02:56:25
Question lads, and Salley
When are we expecting saka to be back?
Will he be ready for the R. Madrid game?

Moe gunner

1.) 15 Mar 2025 07:31:29
Morning Moe mate

I really believe we can do a job on Madrid

I believe in the boys.

2.) 15 Mar 2025 09:01:11
Hello Moe mate. I think he is in light training and their was a sort of timeline of being ready after the international break. After the break we have 2 fixtures home to Brentford then away to Everton then ist leg so if he was going to play against Madrid then I would expect an appearance in one or both of them to prem fixtures. Like Mal I think we can do it with or without him
Take care Moe mate.

3.) 15 Mar 2025 09:25:10
Hi Moe mate hoe's you?

Having Saka back would be a huge boost and unquestionably would improve our chances of getting to the semi finals, fingers crossed ?.

4.) 15 Mar 2025 10:36:59
Hi Moe, lots of reports he might be back for the Madrid game. I think we must be patient though as it will take him a while to get back up to speed, both physically and mentally after such a horrible injury.

5.) 15 Mar 2025 11:37:32
Hi Sally, I don't think Mikel would gamble on Saka just for the sake of the Real game if he isn't 99% sure it won't set him back long term, fingers crossed he can finish this season as he started it and still be 100% for next season too ?.

23 Feb 2025 19:26:26
Just read the very interesting and long thread below, you all have good points and very hard to disagree with any of you, SY is frustrated like all of us we have a big and long term injury list and we still didn't/ couldn't find a CF when we are pushing for the title and we paid a bigger price when we pretty much lost all our first starters.
Happy to be second absolutely No, but this season our lack of squad depth and losing our best players put us in a very bad position.
I think the players are losing.

Moe gunner

1.) 23 Feb 2025 19:50:01
Hi Moe mate, we are all different and all have different feelings and attitudes to life. I love a trier and people who give the best they have to give, even when what they have to give isn't always enough.

For me personally to see our player's giving 100% and wanting to be the best again even when they fail is a beautiful thing compared to the years when this wasn't always the case so my gauge of success is very different to many other people's personal gauages.

Personally I believe fans have the right to be demand 100% effort from the players and manager but no fans anywhere are entitled to see their team win the league. As we are all different people who just happen support the same club and it's only natural we should all see things at least slightly different to each other.

2.) 23 Feb 2025 20:20:47
This weekend has absolutely broke me!

3.) 23 Feb 2025 22:06:50
Yes 62 - the players give 80% but the manager has to ensure the right players give 100% in the right positions applying tactics to win.

Then it’s Arteta whs the problem as you are happy with the team.

This isn’t about effort - they are on over 100k per week and wear the cannon. The cannon is heavy - if it’s too heavy. Leave. Did Freddie just put effort in or was it effort with purpose, or Pires, or DB10, or Paddy or Cole, or Adams or Keown…they fought.

Effort should be a given however I haven’t seen them putting effort in to follow the West Ham man back yesterday, or to play the ball forward or to push forward. Is walking and sideways passing 100% effort exerted to win a game? Or coasting to not lose…I don’t think they have put enough into their games. Look against Everton - we turned it on for 15 mins. Against Villa at home?

I like Rice but he was lazy yesterday for that goal. Jogged back and lost his man who had a simple header at waist height… is that 100% effort? I can pick many moments like that and there's the difference between us and Liverpool.

How lazy or goal shy has Kai been when he should have got into the box to score or get into dangerous positions. Ode is playing at 70% …

Plenty other teams get 5 against 3 with us while we attach 2 against 5. Plenty other teams put effort in. Brentford put effort in, Hammers did, why is that enough? The manager and the club must equip the team to win. Yes there’s been injuries but we’ve been poor this season when injuries weren’t our concern.

Efforts not enough to win the league mate.

Arteta cleared out the non-effort brigade although they put effort in before him. That’s gone. He can’t eat off that forever.

I don’t buy this effort eg they put 100% in or effort alone is enough. Effort with purpose and a team with purpose is required - managed by a manager with purpose….

4.) 23 Feb 2025 22:08:30
O’Leary - is that Kieran?

5.) 23 Feb 2025 23:00:38
Hi Sy, I stopped reading your post at the players giving 80%.

We are chalk and cheese in the way we see things and I honestly can't be bothered to even try and find common ground anymore. Your a nice bloke but our differences are to great to bridge

Take care mate I genuinely wish you well.

6.) 23 Feb 2025 23:19:49
Fair enough mate = I am moaning too much. I enjoy reading your posts and will continue. I will try to limit my posts and frustrations as it’s probably getting a bit much. ?.

7.) 23 Feb 2025 23:32:40
I think our players giving 100% but the system failed with the injuries we have. You can blame Arteta for his tactics but that's what he havs in his disposal. Sterling is a massive disappointment when he worked his magic last week and his sub won us the game it was a master class, he tried it again using him the target man. To be honest I would rather he plays ben white up front instead of sterling.
Also, what makes so sure that arteta didn't want to buy a striker or add to the squad in January.

I think we are short in numbers and that will be addressed in the winter and we go again. Yes not satisfied with 2nd but I think we are going through rough period with those absentees.
And do you really belive had Liverpool lost salah and 2 more of there forwards they will be in this position or they even have a replacement to put them where they are now?

I think sometimes we need to look at the situation we are in before throwing anyone under the bus.
And just a reminder arteta's ball brought us back competing so I would at least give him another year to have a go.

8.) 24 Feb 2025 00:04:57
Sy, you said in livechat that you didn't watch the game yesterday, shall i assume from this post you watched the full 90minute replay?

9.) 24 Feb 2025 04:05:35
I have to say that I disagree with SY4 about the players not putting in effort because effort was the one thing that was very evident in the West Ham game. The passing was good, the effort was amazing, and the players were obviously fired up, especially after we drew against Villa in the midweek. The only things missing was someone who could play the final pass and someone who could put it in the back of the net. And with four attackers out right now, that's quite understandable. You lot were unlucky with injuries this season with all of it concentrated in one area of the field. If not for that, I'd imagine the gap would be much closer. We aren't pulling up any trees this season tbh and we are lucky that City fell off the way they did this season.

10.) 24 Feb 2025 07:49:42
Got to say I'm slightly concerned if that was our players giving 100%. We really are capable a lot better and the tracking back from rice and cala for the goal was very half arsed. However think thr blame lies with the manager. He needs to step it up a bit and stop over complicating every single decision he makes. All season we've had players out of position in areas due to over thinking and lack of trust.

If course if we really want to get into it whoever thought we'd be okay without a cf needs to hold there hands up and leave asap.

11.) 24 Feb 2025 09:18:42
Sy4 Keiran?

12.) 24 Feb 2025 11:03:30
Lots of interesting points of view in this thread.

Regarding Arteta switching things up, surely he needs to do that to see who could cover certain positions in case of injury? Playing our best 11 week in and week out is not doable. Yes he could try out switches during training but that's a million miles away from a high pressure PL or CL game.

I'm resigned to top 4 this year so am not suffering as much as some posters.
I don't think the players are slacking, overuse of the same players and the mental realisation you probably won't achieve your dream (again) is a hard pill to swallow and I really don't think wages has anything to do with it.
Our current front line is nowhere good enough to deal with a back 5 and this is the reality we find ourselves in. All teams know this and take advantage of our situation.

Think, City without Harlaand's goals, Liverpool without Salah's, Villa without Watkins, Newcastle without Isak so its pretty obvious what we need. I'm not sure it was Arteta's decision not to go in hard for a striker, why would that make sense?

I am not a defeatist but in our current situation I am a realist so let's do our best to get behind our boys this year, regroup, recruit and release well in the summer and I can't wait for next year! :)

13.) 24 Feb 2025 14:43:16
The boot lies with the owners. If they are not happy with coming second and have been duped by Arteta to sign Sterling and in some cases Havertz (i Like him and appreciate his contribution) than let's look elsewhere and bring on a new manager. However if the owners have restricted his ability to buy then its with the owners. With Edu leaving still no replacement feels like ground hog day if we leave the recrutiment to Arteta too.

When Arteta took over his contract would have been to make us competitive. With the squad he had and the envirnoment that he came in he needed to get the deadwood out and bring in players that would work for him and the club. Also needed to get the fans back. IN my opinion he achieved that. Second contract would be to bring in the trophies. The players he bought or kept on may not be enough to bring in the trophies so he needs to reset. He has an excellent core of players, starting 11 no striker needed. HOwever we need depth as we can't keep playing the same 11 week in week out. WIth that depth we need a striker. I remember Wenger saying to be competitive on all fronts you need to have atleast three different teams plus have youth team. We are still some way away from that

The media keeps mentioning bringing up how much we have spent in the last 5 years look at how much kronkes have spent acroos their tenure of arsenal and factor in the value of average player and you will see how far behind we are in spending. When we had Wenger we were not spending anything isntead we were simply asset stripping everything they could get their hands on. In the last few years we have spent an enormous amount, but overall this is nothing compared to what others have spent and we need more investment rather than throw out what we have that works.

That saying don't cut your nose off to spite your face, don't throw away Arteta that is simply providing what his owners are looking for but replace the pwners that are not demanding bigger things.

14.) 24 Feb 2025 20:30:13
It is soooooo competitive at the top of the table g4e, we are just one club on the verge of the big prize. It's never going to be easy with the likes of Liverpool, City etc etc.
Hopefully our time will come soon :)

I seriously don't see how we can through the blame at arteta when he obviously doesn't have the final say. Also if we want to get our target we can't just spend crazy money on a striker just for the sake of it. Nonetheless, I think it might cost us for the final run as we have no strikers available.

At least you have the guts to say it how it is. And shame some of our dear friends over here might be happy of where we are now. We showed everyone for the last 3 season that we can compete but we need to show that we can win and not just be in the mix.

That wasn't soft mate, that was never a pen. The foul was outside the box and what happen inside the box was 2 players falling down from my point of view atleast.
Anyway, imo the league even tho mathematicly not over but realistically is done.
We have Madrid to look forward too and with the main guys rested we should be alright, atleast I hope so.
Up the gunnes.
