Hi Ed, are you aware of any Arsenal interest in Emmanuel Dennis, Todd Cantwell or Max Aarons? All decent players who I assume won't want to be playing in the Championship next year and could add depth to the squad. Any other relegation battlers we have shown interest in?

AWRAWA

{Ed002's Note - Max Aarons (RB) Bayern Munich decided against a move as the cost was seen as too high and Roma opted for another last summer although could yet return. Relegation will see him leave this summer. A scout from Borussia Dortmund attended a match in March to watch another player and recommended the club look specifically at Aarons. Manchester United want him as cover only and that may well price him out of a move at something like £30M. Spurs opted for another so there interest has gone. Whilst Everton and Arsenal are looking elsewhere right now, both could return to focus on Aarons.
I doubt Cantwell will move now.}

Nice, thanks Ed. A few very good players facing relation.

Does Arsenal have any interest in bringing in any free agents in the immediate future?

AWRAWA

{Ed002's Note - I assume you mean Wilshere - I would doubt it unless there is an injury.}

1.) 06 Feb 2022 16:47:05
Thanks for your reply Ed. Not just Wilshere, there's been some tabloid talk about Diego Costa and Bafetimbi Gomis. Though from your reply I gather we're not actively looking to bring in anyone right now.

{Ed002's Note - Diego Costa is being hawked around. Bafetimbi Gomis is available. If I were Arsenal I would ride the season out with what they have and utilise Khayon Edwards a bit - else he will be joining the queue to leave with Bagolin, Lacazette and Nketiah.}

We don’t need Jack back for gods sake

Let’s try Diaby as well.

3.) 13 Feb 2022 00:26:25
Slight difference between someone who is actively training with the first team and someone who retired 5 years ago.

Not saying we should sign Jack, but I also don’t understand such opposition. Of all managers, MA doesn’t seem in the slightest bit sentimental. He’s not going to pick him without it being warranted - and even Jack has said MA doesn’t want to sign him.

No need to get out of shape about a former player who just loves the club, and who the club are helping.

Latest name in the frame is Morata.

AWRAWA

God no.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 09:25:21
Morata. just no no no. Do not rate him at all, and just feels like a signing based on necessity rather than a crucial cog needed to complete the team.

Seen a few stories saying we're putting in serious offers for Sander Berge from relegated Sheffield United. He's had his injury concerns a lot of this season, but a big, tall DM is just what is required. At 23 he has plenty of potential and for the price region being quoted, should be a fairly good ' investment asset' too if things don't work out.

Jack Wilshere has been training and travelling with the squad. is there any intention for him to join us?

AWRAWA

1.) 25 Jan 2022 07:20:07
I hope not - he’s had his time.

2.) 25 Jan 2022 20:33:31
No mate, pretty sure he is there to make up midfield numbers for drills etc.

So Auba contracted malaria while on international duty. That guy has had some rotten luck lately. he's saying all the right things, so I think he still genuinely has a drive to get back to playing like his old ways. WIshing him a speedy recovery!

AWRAWA

1.) 16 Apr 2021 21:17:56
I wish him a speedy recovery as well though to be fair, he hasn't been anything like the player we signed for sometime.

Bored waiting for a delayed flight. so let's have some fun and play the "guess Ed002's source" game.

I'm going to say I heard a radio interview with Malcolm Clarke the football supporters federation chair who sounded uncannily similar to Ed in his sharkopods.

Let's hear your conspiracies!

Shame. El neny is a fantastic squad player with a brilliant attitude to not being a "1st 11 player" as far as I can tell.

It's now been announced on Skysports, that came out of no where, gives me hope that our more pressing concerns (a striker) is pretty much already wrapped up if we're working on deals like this.

I have a feeling ESR is still niggled by that injury, guess Arteta is being cautious.

I always think with youth/ squad players that it's better to send them out to attack the game and hopefully outscore the opposition than to ask them to play the patient, slow build-up type game for 90mins. I think it's very difficult to maintain composure with so many inexperienced players who are unfamiliar with playing the system and with each other. I'd have preferred to see us go all guns blazing, put on a show and worst case go out in a blaze of glory, rather than fizzle out like a burnt out sparkler.

A more reasonable way of answering your question Oxfordshire is probably to say that as well as the broadcasting cameras that we see the game through, VAR also relies on a number of slow and ultra-slow motion cameras as well as dedicated offside cameras and use of Hawk-eye style software. In addition you also have the issue of limited personnel, and limited VAR operation rooms to oversee all of the games that are running at the same time.
