It’s a no brainer.
Arteta would take him to the next level and you would see our other attacking players output all go up as he draws opponents out of defensive positions and frees them up.
Go get him in January I say.

Who’s dropping out? That type of comment is only two days old and already hasn’t aged well.
Nobody has to drop out while the current front three are all playing to their level, but even at their best they’ll need rotating or subbing over the course of a season.
When their not at their level they absolutely need to be dropped like any player in any top side with any type of ambition. Right now we can’t afford to drop or rest either of those 3 because there’s nobody to replace them.
As good as our front three have been up to now it would be idiotic to presume Zaha has nothing to offer this current Arsenal squad. I’d say you would have had the same opinion of Mane while at Southampton before he excelled at Liverpool had we been interested back then.
I hope he signs, certain players are made for certain teams, styles and managers and he has attributes that we lack. The closest player we have to what he offers as a ball carrier and player who takes opposition players out of position is Martinelli, and his output is still not near Zahas who plays with the pressure of having to carry a lesser side solely on his shoulders each week.
His ability to draw opposition defenders out of position would see Jesus and Saka/ Martinelli thrive with more space afforded them.
He may not sign, we may have preferred options, but to scoff at the idea of him in our squad with no other reasoning other than that on current form he wouldn’t start or because you consider him a ‘chode’ (you might know him personally, who knows? ) is more than a little silly.
