Hi Ed, is Arsenal showing any interest in Darwin Nunez?

{Ed002's Note - Darwin Nunez (S) Benfica don't want to sell Nunez but they have had serious interest from two sides. Manchester City enquired about Darwin Nunez in the summer were told he won't be available before the summer of 2022. Borussia Dortmund are keen. MIlan have a sustained interest and tried to sign him before he moved to Benfica, but significant financial issues mean they will need to sell other assets as they have other players they wish to add as well - and he is the most expensive of their primary Ibrahimovich replacement targets. Barcelona have enquired knowing that signing their preferred option is unlikely, but were told they would have to pay his €150M release clause to sign him. Inter want to replace Alexis Sanchez with Nunez but moving on Sanchez is a serious problem for them. Suarez will leave Atletico in the summer and they might provide the best solution. Brighton has a declared interest but it will go nowhere. Arsenal have shown an interest but are far from attractive option and possibly a step back. Scouts from many sides have been watching a number of Benfica players.}

Very detailed, thanks.

22 Aug 2021 10:23:53
Ed any truth in the Asensio rumours, is Arsenal interested?

{Ed002's Note - Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City and Leeds so far and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal. Real Madrid may be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type.}

1.) 22 Aug 2021 14:43:32
👍🏾 Nice one.

16 Aug 2021 20:45:13
Auba / Cortinho swap making the news.

1.) 16 Aug 2021 22:10:04
Getting rid of one player on stupid wages who seems to have lost it for another with the same problems. Typical.

2.) 17 Aug 2021 07:55:53
And Kia Joorabchian is his agent 🤦.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 08:21:32
I see arsenal would like coutinho neto or lenglet as the swaps I'd rather the cb or gk I don't want coutinho.

4.) 17 Aug 2021 08:51:09
Id be asking for both Neto and one of Untiti/ Langlet.

5.) 17 Aug 2021 09:43:59
Im a fan of Lenglet, not a fan of Neto or Coutinho. But, I don't think we need Lenglet at all. If Auba doesn't want to be at the club, or doesn't see eye-to-eye with the manager, sell him. Swap deals always seem weird. Invest the money in a new striker (no idea who at this stage mind)

{Ed002's Note - Who do you expect to buy him?}

6.) 17 Aug 2021 10:09:22
Think there desperate enough to put Pedri and Fati in the deal Ed 😂😂.

7.) 17 Aug 2021 10:46:47
Hi Ed how does a swap works exactly especially if one player is on a higher salary especially if no exchange of funds is involved? Is it just a bilateral loan where one club take the other player and pay his existing salary and vice versa?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is a case of salary's being renegotiated.}

8.) 17 Aug 2021 11:33:06
Being honest Ed, I don't see who could buy him with the crazy wages the club provided. Not his fault of course, its the club who were daft enough to offer him such a wage, but absolutely limits his options. Barca's current position surely rules them out.

{Ed002's Note - Unless they can move Griezmann or Coutinho on and he reduces his demands.}

9.) 17 Aug 2021 11:35:07
Ok thanks.

10.) 17 Aug 2021 12:07:44
I suppose a straight swap with Griezman is out of the question?

In your dreams Sally

11.) 17 Aug 2021 13:40:10
The whole coutinho swap with auba rumour confuses me (a common occurrence! ;) ) Wouldn't Barcelona have to reduce a lot more of the wage bill before being able to register a new player? I am guessing just coutinho is nowhere near enough to meet the requirements of the Spanish league.

{Ed002's Note - Messi has gone, Coutinho earns a lot, as does Griezmann. Others are leaving as well.}

12.) 17 Aug 2021 13:48:59
Fair enough Ed002. I know this is the arsenal page, but I struggle to see who would take those players without Barcelona having to pay a large part of their wages. Anyway, you have addressed this rumour earlier, thanks ed.

13.) 17 Aug 2021 17:13:01
One thing arsenal have lacked for a while is goals from players outside the box that aren’t the striker. Coutinho would add that threat you’d like to think though my gut is saying it’s another William case waiting to happen where we’re stuck with an aging player that’s not in the starting team.

14.) 17 Aug 2021 17:14:39
Ed Artetas job has to be being monitored closely. The board may not care about winning things but they’ll certainly be worriesd about the lining of their pockets and Arsenal now not even in Europe, our kudos is dropping fast. Any truth in the Conte links?

{Ed002's Note - Be they lost one game?}

15.) 17 Aug 2021 20:19:53
I hear ya Ed. I really like Arteta and how he holds himself, but can you honestly say you can see an identity in our style of play? What I can see, correct me if I’m wrong, inconsistent intensity, very predictable plays out from defence which time and time again we get caught out and possession style that looks like we’re keeping the ball for the sake of it?

09 Jul 2021 19:16:09
Hi Ed whilst it's a little quiet can we touch on the ESR saga again?

In your opinion or knowledge is he stalling to extend his contract or what? Is he Villa's main target and given that they are already bidding for him I presumed they have already received bid (s) for Grealish? If they are bidding before they sell or they sure they will get the price they want.

It appears they are quite comfortable / confident not just financially but also in sense that that they can manage their squad I. e. ins and out.

Thanks as usual.

{Ed002's Note - You seem to be complicating a simple situation. Aston Villa are interested in adding Emile Smith Rowe to their squad and are buying and selling players like most teams. They are aware that their will be a side interested in Grealish but that is not their motivation.}

05 Jul 2021 19:50:01
Hi Eds,
Not find much via the search option, is Arsenal shown any interest or bid for Edmond Tapsoba?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - He was of interest previously but only moved last summer and is not for sale unless a huge offer would be made.}

Hi Eds, what is the requirements to be compliant to avoid my messages being filtered out? My last message as not been posted.

{Ed002's Note - It will be there somnewhere - Discussion perhaps.}

13 Jan 2022 21:39:46
Well done boys! A good example of how not to lose a game.

1.) 13 Jan 2022 21:50:46
I thought we'd get stuffed by City, didn't happen, I thought we'd get stuffed by Liverpool, again didn't happen

Fantastic effort tonight and I'm really looking forward to Sunday with genuine optimism.

2.) 13 Jan 2022 21:57:44
Great result really tough to watch but we didn't get beat and in the last few years we would have been put to the sword in this situation and lost by 4 or 5.

3.) 13 Jan 2022 22:17:39
The question is now who we will play in the middle on Sunday. Might need to push White up and play Holding or Mari along side Gabbi.

02 Jan 2022 17:24:39
With Olly being mentioned as an option for us shouldn't Emmanuel Dennis get a mention or is he a one hit wonder?

He's 24 and currently with a good goal and assist record playing in a poor Watford team.

I found this quite funny ?? Martin Keown in support of MA

29 Dec 2021 21:41:33
The stars are aligning.

1.) 29 Dec 2021 22:02:59
Taurus is rising in Sagittarius which in itself is set to enter Bognor Regis by the weekend.

It can only mean one thing!

2.) 29 Dec 2021 22:23:00
Oi 46 leave Bognor Regis out of it! COYG.

3.) 29 Dec 2021 23:08:16
Sorry Shropshire mate, I meant Beeston Regis with Aquarius ascending and Leo looking rather chuffed about the prospects of those who have an auntie called Julie, Annie or Chantele.

4.) 30 Dec 2021 18:59:05
Sagittarius entering Bognor Regis; i am sure I have watched a ‘film’ where that happened ?.

{Ed014's Note - was that starring Candy Samples? ?‍♂️?

5.) 30 Dec 2021 21:05:05
Don't be so modest Epping mate, watched it ?

It's no coincidence you live in a forest and are known away from this site as Dick who is known to always stand and deliver ???.

I understand your point DG but I should actually stress is that we shouldn’t get too worked up over it. Every fan have a player or two they would like to see in the but we can’t have them all.

Of course I was expecting a midfielder at least in this window not because of loan or AFCON but because I haven’t though we were there.

We can still make top 4 if we use the squad wise, there’s nothing else to play.

We can't be questioning the club or getting disappointed every time the club don't sign a player we fans like, it wouldn't be possible to sign them all. We just have to wait to see who they sign or not and them praise or critic after.

It's there day job and they have got more info on players than we do.

I definitely would like to see him in the team more often. If playing central we could have to compact the midfield to compensate.

Adama Traoré must be getting more game time than him and can’t be far better than he is.

Well Pepe is on his way back soon ?.

We will get Pepe back soon. Saka can't play all the games especially with all the knocks he keep getting. MA need to get the best out Pepe, even if it means playing a more defensive mid. Also try him on the left with Martinelli central.

I don’t think he’s majorly our issue Ox. He has some lack of know how yes. In particular, he’s sticking out games with Lacazette as the striker even when he’s clearly not impacting games as he did with Auba.

Teams are starting to work us out, especially Martinelli and Saka, defenders are doubling up on them killing off the creativity. We’re getting no joke out of the miss to compensate.

I also think he should talk out more to protect the players against the number of cards we’re getting and lack of against us, even if it means taking a fine or two himself it will benefit him in the end. Props to Paddy in for making an effort to just that following their game against Liverpool today. Some people might think we’re careless or deserve the cards and sending off we received but people like to follow the hype.

The secret society or gentlemen’s club of referees is embarrassing at times.

Possibly Bill or we may decide to pay over the odds now. The obvious has become even more glaring.
