Ed any truth in the Asensio rumours, is Arsenal interested?

{Ed002's Note - Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City and Leeds so far and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal. Real Madrid may be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type.}

1.) 22 Aug 2021 14:43:32
👍🏾 Nice one.

16 Aug 2021 20:45:13
Auba / Cortinho swap making the news.

1.) 16 Aug 2021 22:10:04
Getting rid of one player on stupid wages who seems to have lost it for another with the same problems. Typical.

2.) 17 Aug 2021 07:55:53
And Kia Joorabchian is his agent 🤦.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 08:21:32
I see arsenal would like coutinho neto or lenglet as the swaps I'd rather the cb or gk I don't want coutinho.

4.) 17 Aug 2021 08:51:09
Id be asking for both Neto and one of Untiti/ Langlet.

5.) 17 Aug 2021 09:43:59
Im a fan of Lenglet, not a fan of Neto or Coutinho. But, I don't think we need Lenglet at all. If Auba doesn't want to be at the club, or doesn't see eye-to-eye with the manager, sell him. Swap deals always seem weird. Invest the money in a new striker (no idea who at this stage mind)

{Ed002's Note - Who do you expect to buy him?}

6.) 17 Aug 2021 10:09:22
Think there desperate enough to put Pedri and Fati in the deal Ed 😂😂.

7.) 17 Aug 2021 10:46:47
Hi Ed how does a swap works exactly especially if one player is on a higher salary especially if no exchange of funds is involved? Is it just a bilateral loan where one club take the other player and pay his existing salary and vice versa?

{Ed002's Note - No, it is a case of salary's being renegotiated.}

8.) 17 Aug 2021 11:33:06
Being honest Ed, I don't see who could buy him with the crazy wages the club provided. Not his fault of course, its the club who were daft enough to offer him such a wage, but absolutely limits his options. Barca's current position surely rules them out.

{Ed002's Note - Unless they can move Griezmann or Coutinho on and he reduces his demands.}

9.) 17 Aug 2021 11:35:07
Ok thanks.

10.) 17 Aug 2021 12:07:44
I suppose a straight swap with Griezman is out of the question?

In your dreams Sally

11.) 17 Aug 2021 13:40:10
The whole coutinho swap with auba rumour confuses me (a common occurrence! ;) ) Wouldn't Barcelona have to reduce a lot more of the wage bill before being able to register a new player? I am guessing just coutinho is nowhere near enough to meet the requirements of the Spanish league.

{Ed002's Note - Messi has gone, Coutinho earns a lot, as does Griezmann. Others are leaving as well.}

12.) 17 Aug 2021 13:48:59
Fair enough Ed002. I know this is the arsenal page, but I struggle to see who would take those players without Barcelona having to pay a large part of their wages. Anyway, you have addressed this rumour earlier, thanks ed.

13.) 17 Aug 2021 17:13:01
One thing arsenal have lacked for a while is goals from players outside the box that aren’t the striker. Coutinho would add that threat you’d like to think though my gut is saying it’s another William case waiting to happen where we’re stuck with an aging player that’s not in the starting team.

14.) 17 Aug 2021 17:14:39
Ed Artetas job has to be being monitored closely. The board may not care about winning things but they’ll certainly be worriesd about the lining of their pockets and Arsenal now not even in Europe, our kudos is dropping fast. Any truth in the Conte links?

{Ed002's Note - Be they lost one game?}

15.) 17 Aug 2021 20:19:53
I hear ya Ed. I really like Arteta and how he holds himself, but can you honestly say you can see an identity in our style of play? What I can see, correct me if I’m wrong, inconsistent intensity, very predictable plays out from defence which time and time again we get caught out and possession style that looks like we’re keeping the ball for the sake of it?

09 Jul 2021 19:16:09
Hi Ed whilst it's a little quiet can we touch on the ESR saga again?

In your opinion or knowledge is he stalling to extend his contract or what? Is he Villa's main target and given that they are already bidding for him I presumed they have already received bid (s) for Grealish? If they are bidding before they sell or they sure they will get the price they want.

It appears they are quite comfortable / confident not just financially but also in sense that that they can manage their squad I. e. ins and out.

Thanks as usual.

{Ed002's Note - You seem to be complicating a simple situation. Aston Villa are interested in adding Emile Smith Rowe to their squad and are buying and selling players like most teams. They are aware that their will be a side interested in Grealish but that is not their motivation.}

05 Jul 2021 19:50:01
Hi Eds,
Not find much via the search option, is Arsenal shown any interest or bid for Edmond Tapsoba?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - He was of interest previously but only moved last summer and is not for sale unless a huge offer would be made.}

09 Jun 2021 19:17:10
Hi Ed, have Xhaka agreed terms with Roma? If yes has Arsenal already have a replacement inline, discounting all the rumours, are we close to signing a replacement if that's their plan?

{Ed002's Note - Roma have made what I understand is a third offer for Xhaka which his agent's lawyer has suggested should be acceptable to Arsenal. I don't really understand the next bit of the question, but assuming it means "have Arsennal found a replacement, the answer is no but the club has options they are considering and a preferred option as has been explained.}

1.) 09 Jun 2021 20:41:46
Thanks. Now just fishing for some concrete info among all the rumours. So, rather than vague questions could you provide an update, new info since you last reported on the below players?

Yves Bissouma
Noussair Mazraoui
Achraf Hakimi
André Onana
Edmond Tapsoba
Albert Sambi Lokonga
Tosin Adarabioyo
Nicolo Barella

Oh and is there any bonus/ surprise info you can give, something no one has asked about?

Appreciate it!

2.) 09 Jun 2021 22:10:46
Bissouma is an option; Hakimi is too expensive; Onana we are pushing for a deal and not sure about the other players.

3.) 09 Jun 2021 22:25:27
Tapsoba isn ot happening. Tosin Adarabioyo, Nicolo Barella, not even sure where these came from.

4.) 09 Jun 2021 23:22:23
Tosin apparently has a 10m release clause or something. If true we had been liked with him. Also hearing we are looking at a young Brazilian rb named vanderson. Although must admit I've no idea on who he is or what he is like.

5.) 09 Jun 2021 23:54:26
Well they’re players and the transfer market is open and we don’t know the club’s actual list of transfer targets. People tend to ask about a player base on what they have heard, read or if they like the player.

Hi Ed who is this kid -Ilaix Morib- representative and did they or talk to Arsenal?

{Ed002's Note - Ilaix Moriba (CM/DM) Barcelona fended off interest from Chelsea when he was 16 and the sustained recent interest of RBL who offered a structured career growth option when he turned 18 in January by explaining they would sell if his release clause was met. He is playing in Spain, and for Spain, initially under the Cotonou Agreement but for Barcelona he is reufusing a contract extension and has for now been relegated to the B squad. He and his agent need to think about what is best for the player - Barcelona will listen if Chelsea or RBL return with a very good offer or Manchetser City follow up on their declaration of interest. Chelsea have serious reservations about his attitude. Manchester United, PSG and others have sent scouts to watch him. Spurs looked but opted for Sarr instead.}

1.) 25 Aug 2021 23:05:56
Thanks Ed I like his style of play but seems we are not an option.

22 Aug 2021 10:11:00
The Kronkes in today's match day program have committed to a young team with a mix of older players. So clearly they're building for the future, which may include the manager.

Let's be positive and realistic. MA ain't going no where unless the club is at risk. Their target is likely to be top 6 so anywhere above 8th would be seen as progress.

1.) 22 Aug 2021 11:29:59
I think that's a realistic summary of how it is Yard mate.

Mikel and his bosses have a close relationship together where each accept and defends the other without exception.

I am not sure even relegation would break up this relationship where niether party makes huge demands from the other.

If the time came as it did with Arsene where the stadium seats began to be remain empty then a rethink might be necessary but until then I think we can expect Arteta at Arsenal for a long time yet regardless of improvement or not.

{Ed014's Note - I really want to get behind Arteta and the idea of building for a long term future is great.

I just want to see more as we stand, he wants to play from the back, then at least play Holding and White, two ball players, keep Saliba who looks the same.

Don’t change the team every game, we’ve no Europe, rotate for cup games.

Decide whose going to be your go to RB and at least give him a run to get into it and preferably not Bellerin.

Replace Xhaka, DO NOT give him another contract.

Just inspire me rather than demoralise me!

2.) 22 Aug 2021 12:00:24
I was listening to talk sports yesterday and the fella was saying how us Arsenal fans demand more because of where we used to be. The squad available to us is a mid table squad. We were spoilt before that why we expect to be up there now. He was saying how Arsenal don't have a way of playing anymore. We did, but now its starting from scratch time. To be honest it wound me up but it made sense. Would any other manager be able to get the squad we have performing better? Get us further up the table? Challenging for champions league places?

3.) 22 Aug 2021 13:04:55
Hi McCain mate, can it really be true that our squad is not as good as Leicesters or West Hams?

Is 50 0dd points a season really the limit for the players we have?

I don't believe this squad is worse than the ones that used to regularly hit 70 pts plus

I'm not saying top isn't more difficult now than it was before but I am definitely saying 70pts is still a very reasonable expectations of such an expensive squad, 50 odd points under Mikel is nothing short of dreadful by anyone's reckoning.

4.) 22 Aug 2021 14:36:01
Completely agree with you. We have been terrible, but when do we start saying its the players? Mikel clearly has an idea. On paper, This squad should perform better we've seen them down tools before for Emery. The way Mikel speaks its obvious that his players let him down, i think that's why he is buying young players. Players who actually want to play for Arsenal. Within the next 18 months i would expect a few of the 30+ players to be gone. Auba, laca, willian will soon be gone. I would also expect a few more years of 7,8,9th place finishes too.

5.) 22 Aug 2021 14:57:50
I think you’re being reasonable and realistic McCain. I think we must now be patient, maybe it shouldn’t have taken so long to rebuild a dominant squad again but it happened.

Wenger would mapped or played the game out in his head before hand but in latter part of his tenure he just didn’t ha be the players to pull it off. Didn’t help that he didn’t modernised his approach.

This squad is building and will need time. Your right 14 MA need to know his starting 11 soon and stick to. It doesn’t build player’s confidence chopping and changing and out of position, e. g. Tavares coming on to play RB on Friday with Bellerin, Suares and AMN in the squad.

6.) 22 Aug 2021 12:53:21
Hi Ed014 mate, for me Arteta does not have the abilty and skills required to let and help a team evole naturally into a successful outfit.

How can anything grow and develop organically and naturally when you yourself are so rigid in your ideology how things must be.

Accept and adjust to other people's limitations and weaknesses and if your really lucky they will accept and adjust to your limitations and weaknesses too.

{Ed014's Note - that’s my impression too mate but here’s here, unlikely going anywhere so we just wait and watch.

7.) 22 Aug 2021 16:29:03
Totally agree mate, Arteta is here for the long hual regardless.

{Ed014's Note - yep 😭🤣

14 Aug 2021 20:13:36
Ed14 you've been quiet. What's your opinion on it all.

{Ed014's Note - in my opinion we’re genuinely wasting our time with Arteta.

We are exactly the same easy pushover we’ve been for years, he’s instilled no steel or genuine style of play.

We play with a Captain whose not fit for purpose, we have a manager who fails to get on with senior players because they don’t believe in him.

We had Mari and Leno arguing with each other with less than 5 minutes on the clock, it showed a huge weakness and Brentford and their crowd were all over it.

We are wasting some genuine talent in our squad on a manager with nothing in the bank other than he’s a Pep wannabe.

Nothing about the club sits right with me from top to bottom, we could and most likely will be zero points on the board 3 games in.

I don’t see anything right now to make me think we are anything other than a bottom half team at best.

I’m not supposed to be negative as it upsets a few but I’m just not being duped into thinking or believing this is getting better anytime soon.

1.) 14 Aug 2021 20:32:01
It’s reality Ed, end of . No point in saying things to please people, we are going to be a lower half side I’m afraid

Be interesting to see how many times we fill the stadium.

{Ed014's Note - it is reality mate, how long can you keep watching the same thing over and over and not realise it.

See signings like Luiz and Willian, see players wasted like Torriera, Saliba and even Guendouzi.

Failing to move on players that are clearly just not good enough like Xhaka, Nketiah, Elneny, AMN, Kolasinac, Mari and Nelson.

Hear that senior pros have no time for Arteta, not learn from the mistake of paying Ozil a weekly fortune and then do it all over again.

Hearing that Edu is a hapless negotiator unless he’s spending 72 or 50 million on players we didn’t need.

And then there’s Kroenke!

2.) 14 Aug 2021 20:34:04
Nail. Head. Hit.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 20:50:40
We don't appear to be able to learn from past mistakes. Arteta reminds me of Henry Winkler in the Waterboy. Just muddling along hoping something will work, its not good enough for Arsenal.

4.) 14 Aug 2021 21:06:02
Shut up Ed you're upsetting me lol.

Joking aside everyone be as negative as you like there's no positives from yesterday. I get the whole reason people want arteta gone. But do we not think others above him are doing a rubbishter job. Like edu.

{Ed014's Note - I think I covered that mate, the whole club is getting a bigger joke by the week.

Sorry to upset you though fella. There are positives but they are mostly the young guns.

That aside we honestly haven’t taken a step forward in the way we play have we?

We, no matter who was missing from our side, got out fought, smarted and played by a Championship side with not one stand out player!

5.) 14 Aug 2021 21:38:03
I think it's much important to be you and share your own honest opinions than to be right or keep others happy.

I like hearing all opinions especially when people explain why their reasons are for feeling a certain way as it can sometimes help you see things differently yourself.

{Ed014's Note - I want to see a hat full of positives 62 but they’re simply not there.

6.) 14 Aug 2021 22:15:30
Good to hear your opinion Ed and I support every point you make. But the naivety in me makes me want to still be believe. That’s because I can’t switch and support another team and I’m not ready or will to give up on club football just yet.

The situation we’re in sometimes makes you want to question yourself. Why you must come through this year after year. You can’t choose your family yet we stick to a club like we were born into it.

I have to be explaining to daughter that I can’t switch team it’s just not acceptable.

{Ed014's Note - I think the truth is we all what to believe that what’s happening isn’t really happening.

I want to see things going in the right direction but it clearly isn’t.

I’d never support another club, Arsenal is mine through thick or thin it just happens to be pretty thin right now.

The right man in charge could easily change all that!

7.) 14 Aug 2021 22:38:25
I totally agree Ed014 mate, there is nothing positive about what's happening right now

People say we have to back Arteta, he will come good, but no one ever explains why will he suddenly become good?

I'm positive about the long term because we have a fantastic fan base and sooner or later something will give and we will start moving forward again, we are a sleeping giant just waiting for someone to come along and wake us up.

{Ed014's Note - agree totally, especially your last paragraph 62.

8.) 14 Aug 2021 23:07:23
You can't wake up something that blindly believes its following the right path. We are no better now than we were 5 years ago despite spending millions.

9.) 14 Aug 2021 23:45:01
Ed stop beating around the bush and just say what you mean 🤣🤣.

{Ed014's Note - good point, I must remember to stop sitting on the fence! 😂

10.) 15 Aug 2021 00:01:10
Out of interest Ed014, who would be your realistic candidate (s) to be that right man to instil hope and belief?

{Ed014's Note - Nagelsmann has forever been the one for me but to be honest I don’t think we can trust the owners to have a cat in hells chance of being switched on enough to get the right man.

11.) 15 Aug 2021 01:54:46
Not upsetting me here Ed its all the truth. I'd happily agree with all the signs point to getting rid of arteta but for me I don't think it'll change much. There's just so many useless people above him.

What frustrates me enough is we haven't seen enough to know if arteta will become good or not. Perhaps that's me being blind but with the players we have not seeming to care less and edu not sealing the needed transfers how can we see what he truly is capable of. It's just one big rubbish show 😂.

{Ed014's Note - that’s the thing though mate, we watched the same pathetic stuff all last season to then see the same thing in pre season and low and behold the first game of the season against what in all honesty are still very much a championship club.

No disrespect to them as they are clearly really well run and have a half decent manager.

12.) 15 Aug 2021 06:19:14
Who would you have in charge Ed. i think a coach that knows how to get players to defend would be a start and I will never give up on arsenal but might stop watching them as it doesn't excite me no more I watched man u yesterday and I hate to say it but the way they played was good to watch.

{Ed014's Note - right now I’d take Sam bloody Allardyce! 😂

13.) 15 Aug 2021 08:23:07
Someone who can get on with and the best out of established players and young players alike, would be a step in the right direction.

Sparky mate, the Kronkee's Edu and Arteta are not the club, they simply have control of the club right now but it won't be that way forever.

The Arsenal are a sleeping giant, the people currently running The Arsenal are lots boys, so completely out of thier depth, change will come, it always does.

14.) 15 Aug 2021 11:50:09
What's so frustrating is the culture of mismanagement over the last 4-5 years, with all three managers complicit. I love Wenger but he should have moved on after the Cup Final. Emery was a reactive manager and didn't build a rapport with the fans or players, Arteta has been handed the keys based on putting out cones at city and realises how lucky he is to have this job. Strong managers would challenge the ineffective executive team; Arteta won't do that because he must be aware of his own job security. We've got guys running the club who know nothing about football - a new director of football who signed a promising CB for 50M when the other end of the pitch should have been the focus - Edu who spends most of his summer on holiday. When you look at the numbers, you can't say the Kronkes haven't put the money up - they absolutely have - it's just been spent terribly. They are guilty of trusting the wrong people and delegating to individuals that are not experienced or skilled enough for the job Arsenal need. We're a huge club, we spend more money than Chelsea on wages, and we're lightyears behind them on the pitch. We need some proper football people at the club that remember our standards - until that happens, we're not going anywhere.

15.) 15 Aug 2021 09:34:34
I can`t disagree Ed at all . I think the telling points are MA has said he had 5 great training weeks and the boys were ready! For what exactly?

No difference at all and Oedegaard is hardly the answer, fed up of lightweight pushovers all over the place. Bissouma a priority. Him and Partey please .

Genuinely believe we aren`t as bad as Friday and am hanging on to fact that PEA Laca Partey Saka and Gabriel would have made a difference but time is running out as no change and think MA and EDU should go as a pair as recuitment and selling poor.

This sickness thing - unless C.V. - with PEA and Laca is bollox and football is full of managers sacked because of player power. Never been upset by people being negative but as I said before I would give until Christmas but that time frame is shrinking particularly after the same old on Friday and if MO is the saviour we are in trouble and a change of driver looms .

An easy six points coming up though! COYG Sam Allardyce though Ed haha.

{Ed014's Note - obvs Sam Allardyce was a joke!😂

Nothing smells right though mate, the sickness thing is defo bollox and two of the senior players who don’t like his methods.

I’m certain we have plenty of talent and I can’t believe Bissouma is available and we’re still sat on our hands. We could have held onto Saliba and used the White money to get him in.

I certainly can’t see him lasting long mate!

16.) 15 Aug 2021 09:48:56
I like it Ed for me I'd like Sean dyche think he would do great with what we have but don't think others would have my view.

{Ed014's Note - it’s how he’d be offensively that would be the concern, but he’s never had the chance at a big club so it’s hard to know mate.

17.) 15 Aug 2021 11:35:22
It would be good to see change before this window closes 62.

I shouldn’t be so caught up with it because I said sometime back we’ll be crap until 2022/ 23 season if memory serves me right, but at this stage it looks unlikely.

You said it as joke Ed14 but Big Sam would stabilise this team and have them fighting.

I have never seen the coaching staff looked so concerned/ worried even when we were losing all five games on the trot. That’s a sign there’s big problems behind he scene.

{Ed014's Note - whoever it is we need them to be like Klopp and take the by the scruff and get some bite into them.

We had that with Guendouzi and Arteta sacked him off!

18.) 15 Aug 2021 12:26:02
Exactly that’s what I want to see players get angry 😤 and frustrated when losing. We use to have players with bite and passion and Guendouzi represent that now he’s gone. We can get the best ballers out there but until we start to knock people over and instilled fear every team will have a go. We use to challenge the opponents and even the referees in packs now they just shrugged us off, it makes my blood 🩸 boil.

To honest I think it goes back to Arsene Wenger he made us soft once the cards were stacking up and media jumped on it. I just can’t understand why it still lingers, it’s bad.

One of MA problem now is he wants to play slick football without an enforcer in the team.

{Ed014's Note - that’s why Partey and Bissouma would be ideal in our midfield.

City and Liverpool play slick football but the have Fabinho and Fernandinho and plenty of others that aren’t powder puffs! Even David Silva, when he was there and Kevin De Bruyne get stuck in.

19.) 15 Aug 2021 13:34:05
Exactly, and part of the issue is he’s not fixing the now.

Spare a thought for the new boys, Sambi looks shields his ball well and play mostly the simple passes which keeps the game flowing. Tavares looks like he has a desire to shire. But this is another level for them and will need time. They need fighters and winners otherwise mediocrity will seeped into their boots. And White looks like he need a stalwart beside him. He’s not reading the game well and sells him easily a few times. Seen it in preseason as well and seems to lack any sort of aggression whatsoever for a defender. Apparently he can play DM, RB and CB but he can’t jump, which is a shame. I’m not a big fan of Maguire but he’s aggressive.

Sadly I can’t see us buying Bissouma again. Looks like the emphasis is on an AM centred around Odegaard. Intelligent footballer but not effective enough for me. He might make a good manager one day 😁.

14 Aug 2021 13:54:52
Lord Alan Sugar tweeting we should bring back Arsene Wenger and Rwanda president Paul Kagame also making his feelings known "We just must NOT excuse or Accept mediocrity. A team has to be built with purpose to win win win. So that when we lose. it was not to be expected! I am sure we all know on whose shoulders the heaviest burden rests. I hope they know too or even accept it! ".

1.) 14 Aug 2021 14:10:25
Is Alan Sugar also in favour of all those whose computer isn't working replacing it with an Amstrad? They were good in the 80s!

2.) 14 Aug 2021 14:18:17
What would he know about building a successful football team.

3.) 14 Aug 2021 15:19:22
Probably the same as us Mal - not a thing.

My beef now is with the leaders/ owners of the club. People say the Kronke's have put a lot of money in the club. Regardless, I must conclude they are not good at what they doing at this club. This club have a reputation and its being ruining while they drag their feet.

If the issues is between the senior players like PEA, Laca etc and the manager one side must leave. If it's easier to get rid of the manager so be it, but is there a guarantee he will be replaced with one the players will accept. Do the players get to have a say in the next manager? Can we get rid of these players? This is also a difficult one more so with PEA who is 32yrs old and on a very generous £300+ pw.

Yes you could argue the manager could change to suit the players, but often we see that happen. The manager is being allowed to build a squad to his liken and the bucks stops with him.

I am going to speculate that we are not playing ball because there are underlying issues and the team is just not gelling. People complain about the type of football MA wants to play and it is not working. I say its not working because the players are not trying. How often have you seen PEA pressing from the front or coming back to support Tierney rather than pretending or acting like a shadow. If he plays central his he good at holding up the ball or winning headers from crosses? Did Leno attempted to play from the back from goal kicks? No. He did when the ball was already in play and played back to him. How difficult it is to transition into playing the ball around with your feet as a keeper? No wonder there are rumours he and the goalkeeping coach doesn't get on.

To be honest at this stage I am not siding with any player or the manager I am an Arsenal fan so I my interest is in seeing The Arsenal do well.

13 Aug 2021 18:00:43
Hi everyone, we all know it starts tonight and it starts with us.

Time to be committed. So I have three questions.

1. Where will The Arsenal finish this season?
2. Who will be Arsenal player of the season?
3. Will Mikel Arteta still be manager at the end of the season?

My answers are:
1. 6
2. Pepe and if i'm allowed a 2nd choice Partey
3. Yes

Go on you Arsenal!

1. 12th
2. If allowed game time, young Martinelli
3. Sadly, yes.

2.) 13 Aug 2021 19:33:43
Without a ball being kicked this season there is nothing to go on yet, maybe ask the same question 5 games in when we've seen something to form an opinion on.

Anything I predicted now would have to be based on last season so not the most optimistic outlook 🙃.

3.) 13 Aug 2021 19:35:14
RSharpe damn you! My beer came out of my nose with the twelfth prediction haha. I personally believe that this team without additions should not be 8th. We have enough firepower to challenge top four if we had a manager who can motivate our players to do better. There are few Man U players that I would accept at Arsenal but somehow Ole making it work. I want to see the genius of our manager this season!

4.) 13 Aug 2021 19:48:33
I'm with you Ru in so much as the team is better than its performances and results.

I remain convinced the car isn't bad as it performed last season and that last seasons problems wre down to the driver error.

5.) 13 Aug 2021 19:58:00
Come on G62 stop sitting on fence and be committed. You can't really back a horse after the race has started. It's only fun / banter your house is not on it.

6.) 13 Aug 2021 19:58:04
Buzzing for this season. We will finish 5th, player of the season will be Ben White and Arteta is in this for the long haul.

Come on The Arsenal.

7.) 13 Aug 2021 20:02:39
If we sign no one else and Mikel refuses to learn from mistakes ;

We haven’t addressed any of our issues and we still have the same manager

Hopefully the boss learns and we sign a few key players with the money what’s left.

8.) 13 Aug 2021 20:04:39
Ben White

9.) 13 Aug 2021 20:42:18
Ben White
Hopefully no and take edu and the krankees with him.

10.) 13 Aug 2021 21:39:22
I would like to change my answer. 👀.

I guess we really don't know what it seems so bad for us. Is it majorly a lack of European football that affects the players we can bring, is it the players we have bought so underwhelming or just the way we conduct business in seeking to buy players? I can see we were determined to spend big money on two players and got the deals done eventually but was that because of lack of competition for those players?

The Ben White deal may later prove to be a good one, but in this moment it is not because of his lack of experience in the EPL. I can see us buying another defender in about 2 seasons from from, especially if Saliba doesn't return unless someone breaks through from the youth team. Holding is capable but just doesn't have the finest and Mari I can't believe is that bad for is experience. Is he lacking confidence or what?

Ramsdale purchase is similar not a good one in this moment unless Leno leaves this window, which is clearly not happening. Even if he becomes number 1 this season it's too much money concentrated in the squad.

Sorry Ed14 it just never looked realistic for Bissouma happening with Partey a mainstay in the team and Sambi Lokonga coming in. I think that would have been three players with basically the same profile. Torriera is different and should have stayed for the difficult games to break up games with less chance of being carded.

Honestly, I worry for us having ESR and Odegaard as our creative mid. They are not top four and doesn't even feel like top 6 in the present moment when we want break back into that group.

The frightening thing is I even worry more about our strikers. We couldn't score goals in pre-season and expect to score goals in the league. It's such a sticky situation because we see PEA as a better goalscorer that Laca and he may score. However, the team score more goals with Laca. How do you bench your captain, apparently best striker and highest earner and make it work?

We can’t blame the club much in this regard as some of these player are just not attractive to others. Unless one wants to argue the club bought them in the first place.

I must chip in and say thank you too to the Eds.

To Ed02 for the regular and up to date catalog of info. It’s like picking your lecturer brain on a particular subject. Absolutely priceless! Scholarly.

To Ed14 for your balance opinion, a gooner and your love for Bissouma 😀. January is just around the corner 🤞🏾cross! Objective.

To Ed01 for the player analysis and general football news. Connoisseur.

Really appreciate it. Only thing missing is the app.

Stay bless everyone.

Hi Tris are you saying Santiago Munoz is a very good business for Newcastle?

{Ed001's Note - no mate, I have no idea if he is any good. I am guessing you haven't seen the film Goal! then?}

Mentioning Elneny just left me dumbstruck for about 5 minutes 😩😭

Like 👍🏾 Your selection SY but wish we could sneak Laca in instead of PEA better for the press, hold up play and passing to with of the two wide players cutting in.

{Ed014's Note - tell me, for some reason I’d totally forgotten about him and bang! A reminder 😭😂

Just think he needs cover until he matures and read the game better. He does tend to rush out and get beaten.
