PEA has a good chance of going according to SKY just now

1.) 31 Jan 2022 19:42:45
Their saying agreement reached.

{Ed014's Note - thank god for that!

2.) 31 Jan 2022 19:47:41
Ed14, that’s our business done then.

{Ed014's Note - yep can’t see anyone else coming in. We apparently made attempts for Melo and Vlahovic neither worked out and that was that.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 19:51:04
As long as we are not paying the balance of his salary Ed. He wanted to go play for Barca, so he should accept whatever they can afford to pay him, but we shouldn’t be making up the difference.

{Ed014's Note - sadly I’d imagine we’re paying a fair chunk Epping, can’t see Barca as affording a lot to be honest.

4.) 31 Jan 2022 19:56:30
Free transfer on a permanent deal…. That must of been some rift with arteta.

{Ed014's Note - £350 grand a week off the wage bill, result!

5.) 31 Jan 2022 20:05:32
Roughly £25m but we could lose just about the on Nketiah.

6.) 31 Jan 2022 20:09:32
If that’s true Wilfred, I am over the moon

Good riddance.

7.) 31 Jan 2022 20:10:28
It’s no result without a replacement ED

We are weak end of.

{Ed014's Note - the other question to ask is who around us has got stronger?

8.) 31 Jan 2022 20:26:06
Mores to the point

Arteta could have dealt with it better and kept him until the end of the season

It’s very costly to have no CL football as we know.

9.) 31 Jan 2022 20:26:44
I disagree Banbury mate

We started playing well as soon as pea was dropped. So we lost nothing.

10.) 31 Jan 2022 20:33:59
Apart from partey and god help us xhaka we are going to the end of the season with the team that couldn’t beat Burnley at home… let’s hope lacazette don’t get injured otherwise we will be scraping to get in the nations conference for me.

11.) 31 Jan 2022 20:39:38
We're are 2 injuries away from disaster imo but that's life I suppose.

12.) 31 Jan 2022 21:20:44
Spurs might of got stronger ed.

13.) 31 Jan 2022 21:25:35
I'm with Malaga, we had Auba haunting the place like a well paid ghost. Better for the players he isn't there, he has been awful for 18 months.

14.) 31 Jan 2022 21:15:37
Some of that £350k can go to new contracts for some of the younger players who actually care about the club.

27 Jan 2022 20:24:15
Chambers gone

Thank god.

1.) 27 Jan 2022 20:36:54
Didn't even hear rumours of this transfer happening. Kinda gives me hope of incomings now. As for Chambers, i am glad he's gone. Never really did much and it's another one of the wage bill.

2.) 27 Jan 2022 20:50:35
Does any one know how much we got.

3.) 27 Jan 2022 20:59:33
Bit harsh - he was a professional and did alright for us. Don’t understand people jumping on players just because they leave.

4.) 27 Jan 2022 21:31:11
Would of rather kept chambers as back up to Tomi than Cedric. good luck to the lad, always professional and did a job when asked.

5.) 27 Jan 2022 22:21:37
We got 2m for him.

6.) 27 Jan 2022 22:52:15
Yep better than Cedric all day long But no one wants to buy Cedric I guess - figure that one out we’re left with the worse player hmmmm! COYG.

7.) 28 Jan 2022 10:24:14
Must admit I really don't get the "thank god" comment.

I understand he was never a regular starter, but he always gave his best for the club, never embarrassed us, never complained, always played with a smile, and seemed to always get us out of a hole when he was called upon during injuries etc.

and much prefer him to Cedric.

wish him all the best at the villa, I'm not sure he will get much more playing time tho, but deserves respect from arsenal fans surely.

8.) 28 Jan 2022 12:34:41
Well I cannot say that I am dissapointed .

9.) 28 Jan 2022 18:39:42
I thought he was a good guy, always available, always tried his best and didn't cause problems. I'm going to miss him in the squad.

10.) 28 Jan 2022 20:24:05
People do need to understand teams need a squad? Would I want him starting away to Man City. No, but then again whoever we pick we would lose anyway. As much as we would all like a squad of 22 world class players, it ain’t going to happen. Even if we were some kind of super rich club, for me, Any player not in the starting XI, by definition is not world class, as if they were they would be in the starting XI, or they are world class in their own mind, but are now majorly peed off and will quickly become troublesome when not picked. I think you need a squad of about 15 top top players, with other good players to back them up. Chambers and Elneny fit that template. They are not world class, but good players who know their place. No toys being thrown out the pram when not picked, but professional to the best of their ability when played. So am I happy seeing a squad that still contains Xhaka and PEA while Chambers goes, absolutely not.

11.) 28 Jan 2022 22:12:51
Good luck to Chambers at Villa he only going ever be a a bit part player for us and has never really nailed down a primary position between RB and CB, jack of of all master of none situation which happens to a lot of players really. A good pro sure but we have held onto these types of players for too long in my view to detriment of us and the player really so time to move on and free up space and wages. If Saliba comes back (hope he is given a proper chance as being doing well at Marsille) we have 4 Cb's anyway so we covered there with Holding, White and Gabby assuming Mari will be sold at season end.

09 Jun 2021 10:55:08
So EK is preparing another bid, 2 billion, if correct still not enough IMO. I think he has to be 2.5 billion and above to tempt the Americans.

1.) 09 Jun 2021 15:34:40
You just tagged on half a billion like it's nothing. Do you realise what half a billion actually is.

2.) 09 Jun 2021 20:08:26
Oh dear understand it in the context of the situation which you clearly don’t - to us it’s huge but the new offer won’t even raise an eyebrow on the Americans forehead . Yes to us it’s huge to a billionaire who has said “ we don’t need the money “ it’s nothing.

3.) 10 Jun 2021 00:12:47
Quick google search says that Arsenal are valued roughly around $2.8bn so I imagine the owners would want more than that.

4.) 10 Jun 2021 08:09:19
That’s right fuser which is why the yanks would want something approaching 3 billion . EK is way off the mark.

5.) 10 Jun 2021 15:09:17
It’s great to want someone who is passionate about your club being the owner but is he a realistic prospect? Spotify is only worth £3bn itself, so without another backer alongside EK I don’t see it as being realistic.

6.) 10 Jun 2021 21:16:37
Spotify is worth $46bn.

7.) 11 Jun 2021 13:26:54
It doesn't matter how rich or poor you are half a billion is a huge difference. I understand the original statement. Also $2.8 billion dollars is just under £2 billion pounds sterling as of this morning, if you can't grasp basic currency, don't band around fictitious figures.

8.) 11 Jun 2021 14:08:15
They aren't going to sell at all. Arsenal fc makes them money. Its a fairy tale that is never going to happen.

06 Apr 2021 11:15:12
Talk of Odegaard being offered out to other PL clubs this Summer, let’s hope he’s that happy with us he stays.

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have no option to buy him.

Martin Odegaard (RW/AM) Arsenal beat Real Sociedad to a loan in January but have no option to buy. Real Madrid are happy to include him on a lengthy list of players that they are open to selling or including in exchanges in the summer - and that may suit Seville who have a player that Real Madrid are showing an interest in. Ideally Real Madrid would like an auction for him but will seek €40M for a cash sale. Arsenal would consider him on a permanent deal but it depends on finances which are tight.}

1.) 07 Apr 2021 20:20:25
If he has good options it's difficult to think why he would want to be at Arsenal next season.

Reasons staying would be game time he gets at Arsenal.

Reasons for not staying are it's highly likely we won't be playing European football next season plus there is nothing apart from wishful thinking to argue Arsenal will be any different next season under Arteta than they were last season or are this season under Arteta.

I don't know the lad and maybe there are reasons I'm not aware of why he would want to be at Arsenal next season but there certainly isn't any obvious reason to think he would.

05 Oct 2020 19:10:57
Partey isn’t done yet - I’d be amazed if we were to get him.

1.) 14 Oct 2020 10:09:55
Are you not amazed?!?!

We have one of the youngest squads in the PL yet I hear oh they were tired don’t give me that we haven’t had a testing season, so who is to blame, if we can’t be up for a CL spot and say we are tired then we have no hope.

1.) 17 May 2022 17:36:13
how many players have had C.V. though, it takes a while to fully recover saka not been the same since he got it on international duty.

2.) 17 May 2022 18:57:56
Of course sorry CV was restricted to Arsenal.

{Ed014's Note - the managerial incompetence defo was! ??

17 May 2022 06:22:11
The likes of Newcastle will finish above us next season ……watch this space.

1.) 17 May 2022 07:49:44
Next seasons top is definitely has the potential to be even more difficult that this mate I agree with you there.

I think we can safely say City and Liverpool will take up 2 of the 4 spots, as for Chelsea I think no matter what happens with a takeover they will be there or there abouts once again, if Conte makes it through the summer as Spurs manager and is still there in August and makrs it through to next May they will be better next season than this.
Yes Howe has done a brilliant job at Newcastle and you have to think they will be huge spenders this summer plus can United possibly be any worse next season than this?
And with West Ham and Leicester possibly pushing top 6 could be very difficult next season let alone top 4.

As for us, I think we will continue to improve one way or the other but whether it's enough to keep pace let alone be good enough to finish above 16 other clubs? It's a big ask of what is still a rookie squad with a rookie manager.

On the upside we do have 2 bites at the Cl 23/ 24 cherry next season and EL might be our best option for both a trophy and a CL return and no matter have we feel right now, we do have that EL alternative route next season we didn't have this season ????.

16 May 2022 21:21:01
63 minutes in and it’s a shocker.

15 May 2022 17:35:17
Everton win today and they are safe, certainly helps us a week today.

15 May 2022 17:26:22
I only see dropped points for us tomorrow night, our back four just won’t cope, this game will be tougher that the recent NLD .

I’ve settled for 5th.

1.) 15 May 2022 18:02:25
I've no idea what will happen tomorrow night mate, we could just as easily surprise everyone yet again ? as we could get trounced.

I do know that from 8th to 5th is our biggest improvement in a 12 month period for over 25 years so if not everything comes up roses, once the dust settles I think we will soon become accepting that it's not all thistles and thorns.

2.) 15 May 2022 20:00:51
We are a bit like a bag of Revels, you never know what you are going to get.

3.) 15 May 2022 21:01:49
Absolutely sparky mate, I'm hoping for the srummy orange revel tomorrow night that will send us into game 38 with everything in our own hands ???.

4.) 15 May 2022 21:06:41
Ironic 62 as that's against The Toffees mate.

5.) 15 May 2022 22:26:46
Ouch sparky mate, that's not good is it ???

No one wants to end up with the sticky difficult to chew Toffee as their only option, luckily they have Frank at the wheel so it's not all bad news ????.

We don’t need Jack back for gods sake

Let’s try Diaby as well.

I’m afraid Dags is right, we knew what was coming up and we all know that Xhaka is a HUGE liability, blames lies firmly at the clubs door

Short sightedness at its best.

Oh I agree Ed, Arteta isn’t the man to get them to the next level but he’s not going anywhere soon is he?

I also think you need to look at who we have lost to and that says everything I’m afraid, forget City and ‘pool but we’ve had some shockers

Yes ED totally agree my concern is with MA it was a big gamble IMO.

{Ed014's Note - mate I’m agreeing with you but think there’s more in the squad than Arteta is getting from them.

No where near challenging for titles I might add

Against who Ed? A poor Man U a very poor Chelsea side away that were also thumped at home 4-1 by Brentford . We are average without a doubt and if we don’t buck our ideas up this season will go down as a season we punched above our weight . The squad needs to be so much bigger in quality, the ridiculous sending offs have to stop, Arteta has to have a change in tactic .

{Ed014's Note - against City and half a game against Liverpool until Arteta gobbed off.

I’m not saying we’re class by any stretch but the players are better than Arteta and we’ve been hamstrung with no striker.

On our day?

I like you Mal but you really are a dreamer we are nowhere near as good as anyone - read you comment back mate . We are bang average I’m afraid I love Arsenal but see us for what we are …. at the moment.

{Ed014's Note - to be fair Ox we have put in a couple of performances with what you’d call our best 11 which would include Tierney, Partey and Tomiyasu where we’ve actually looked pretty good.

They are so few and far between though, which age of the squad has to be a factor and I think we should have comfortably secured 4th amongst the other shite sides (big six) below the top two.

None of the rest have impressed me all season, including Chelsea. We are just above bang average.

My worry is our manager and I’d swap him out for Potter in a heart beat.

It’s called realism Mal, eh Ed?

I threw my rose tinted glasses away during the Don Howe era.
