Just seen Nwaneri might be leaving. He seems to need a challenge but I've read reports from the manager of his loan club publicly stating he needed to do more. Hope it works out for him though.

I don't like either, and it's too cheap. Trouble is, we have Rice, Ode, Bruno, Eze, Zubi, Mikel, Nwaneri, plus MLS for three spaces. Surely Rice, Bruno, and probably Ode are a shoe in to start! But it's a squad game, which, if he's happy, keep him.
Worth way more than £36 mill. If it's United and he wants to go, stick 'em for £70 mill (my value for him) as revenge for RVP. Not that I'm holding a grudge. 🤣 COYG.

Our squad needs to be deep enough for a full second XI and MLS is a perfect fit for that.
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Rice, Bruno, Odegaard; Saka, Havertz, Tzolis
Kepa/Meslier; White, Mosquera, Salmon, Hincapie; Zubi, MLS, Eze; Madueke, Gyokeres, Martinelli
Hincapie and MLS are flexible and can play both LB and another position. I've put Salmon in there, as I think he'll get cup minutes this season, though, if Gabi is out, it'll be Hincapie.
The only question mark to me is if we get Vini - we can afford to shift Martinelli and even Madueke to make room for Vini and Dowman.
I think Max is ready and already better than Madueke, personally. I love Martinelli, but neither he nor Tzolis appear to be an upgrade on Leo (yet) . So, for me, keeping MLS is essential for squad balance and versatility. Nwaneri has more to worry about in terms of being sold.

Reports from hand of Arsenal very good source, Vini has agreed personal terms with Arsenal. Arteta has also spoken to him and he likes the project. Real's offer is the same offer he refused last time and they are adamant it’s sign it or leave! Arsenal's offer is better than Madrid's offer.

These journalists make me laugh. When we were linked with Vini the reports were Arsenal keeping an eye on Vini due to his contract. Real don’t want to lose him and are confident he will sign a new deal. That was last week. Yesterday Sky reported he’s staying at Madrid because they don’t want him to leave and are confident he will sign. It’s the same report, nothing has changed pmsl.
Now I’ve heard it’s not even about his contract wage demands; it’s his Image rights. He owns 50% so do Real. He wants more of his image rights. If he came to us he would have 100% rights, so that’s one reason we could afford him, plus the shirt sales sponsorships. Anyone who says we can’t afford him is completely wrong.

As it seems we are serious about Alvarez, would a loan with an option to buy work for him? It would give his family a chance to live in London for a while as I understand Manchester wasn't appealing to them.

I've never liked these arrangements, and I don't think they work for the player either. It never leaves them settled unless it's clear the intent - like with Raya and Hincapie, it was clear. Players like Sancho and Barkley get horse-traded around, and it never works for anyone. imo, if we get Alvarez, it should be a straight purchase.

Why would Atletico loan a player (that they don't want to sell) and wait a year to get the over EUR150m? How are they gonna replace him if they don't get the money up front?

Unfortunately they are trading cards, Sally - bought, sold, dropped and discarded when it suits. Players also treat clubs poorly, with agents hungry for fees.
