Don't think striker was the issue today, it was the lack of a creative midfielder. Partey took far too many touches and we probably would have been able to make more cutting passes with Rice at the 6. I think Nwaneri is edging closer to starting in the PL, he was electric again.

We scored four and still their goalkeeper was their best player. On the other end they were extremely efficient with their finishing. We were well worth the three points in my opinion.

He gave a simple ball away yesterday that led to their first goal when he had so many options. He sadly keeps doing it.
I was really hoping he’d come into some kind of form but it’s not happening.
Arteta has said Merino has started training and is desperate to start playing so hopefully we’ll see him after the international break.

Chelsea never played him as a striker and what did he do there? They must of been laughing there heads off when we offered £60m for him all my Chelsea mates were anyway… we should of spent that money on an out and out striker…

I think rice best positions is just in front of the back four breaking up play and using the ball… think arteta is trying to turn him into xhaka how he played the last season for us.
