Meslier looks to be arriving on a free after his contract with Leeds ending. Guess this will allow Setford to go out on loan to gain some valuable experience. Good move in my eyes, amazing depth to have such an experienced 3rd choice keeper.
1.) 08 Jul 2026 12:32:59
I heard Kepa wants a move AWRAWA, so he might be 2nd choice.

Ed 002, i know you said Arsenal haven't approached West Ham over Declan Rice, but do Arsenal hold an interest in him? Thx in advance (y)
{Ed002's Note - Declan Rice (DM) There may remain interest from Manchester United but they signed Casemiro so their need is less now. The interest of Manchester City went with the signing of Kalvin Phillips although I would not totally discount them. Chelsea lost out on their preferred target last summer and the club is supportive of looking again to have Declan Rice return to Chelsea, something that I understand may be acceptable to the player. If Arsenal were to move Xhaka and Elneny on then they would have space in the squad, but they have yet to declare an interest with West Ham. A wildcard would be Bayern Munich. West Ham will resist a move, but if the player were to push for it they would have to reconsider that position. The player has rejected offers to sign a new contract. Will be significantly expensive. I am not aware of any discussions for a cut price deal with Liverpool as some of their fans have suggested.}

Rice and Mason Mount are beasties which if Mount stays at Chelsea might give them an edge.

Hi Ed002, are you considering doing one of your super summaries of the Arsenal comings and goings for the January window? . please. pretty please :)
{Ed002's Note - I’ll try when I get back.}
1.) 22 Dec 2022 23:33:05
Thank you Mr Edward the 2nd, you kind sir, it would be greatly appreciated.
07 Aug 2022 00:33:59
Ruben Neves?
1.) 07 Aug 2022 12:26:42
Yesss like him as well.
2.) 07 Aug 2022 13:20:24
Would absolutely love Neves to join. Wolves though would ask for a ridiculous amount of money for him so i can't see it happening.
3.) 08 Aug 2022 09:01:19
Neves
Yes please take him in a heartbeat.

Hi Ed, apparently West Ham have agreed a fee for Onana. You previously said that he was being offered to Arsenal, are we interested in the player - have we potentially lost a target, or were we never in for him?
Thanks!
{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath.}

Darwin Nunez ??
1.) 29 Aug 2024 17:00:54
I have a funny feeling we’ll be in for Toney tomorrow, and this nonsense around Arteta not liking him was smoke and mirrors to drive his price down.
Or as Mal has said, we wanted Sesko, and will now wait for him.
2.) 29 Aug 2024 18:24:38
Just asked ed002 on rumours about Toney as can genuinely see him as our answer ( not THE answer) but he’s looking to Saudi option. Like with Osimhen too rich for us I’m afraid! With Eddie gone we surely need someone if only to replace him COYG.
{Ed014's Note - I think we’ll try and tempt Rooney out of retirement ?♂️
3.) 29 Aug 2024 19:18:27
14 are you taking the Mickey?
{Ed014's Note - I’d never do that Davy! ?
4.) 29 Aug 2024 20:20:46
Would Toney fit into how we play as a team? Will he work enough to keep Arteta happy. Seems like a strikers striker but I’d be surprised if we signed him. He will score goals but Arteta expects the front 3 to work hard…. Interesting to watch this play out
Sounds like Nunez is just a rumour.
5.) 29 Aug 2024 20:54:41
But Ed14 Rooney is twice the size of Tielemans! #Ed14nolongerweightist.
Sterling the latest rumour ??? COYG it’s madness.
6.) 29 Aug 2024 21:00:46
Rooney as player manager.

Be interested to know if the situation behind the scenes has improved as things have definitely improved on the pitch. I know Ed previously said there were big problems, and in a recent reply suggested there were some unhappy bunny's. All the chatter from Mikel, players past and present, and media seems to suggest things are all rosey.
{Ed014's Note - I’d agree we had some unhappy bunnies, but only when we had the likes of Auba, Ozil, Mustafi, Guendouzi, Bellerin and Torriera but they’ve all moved on.
If Lokonga is now our only unhappy bunny, which may or may not be the case, I really don’t mind that at all.
The squad seems united with the manager and whilst its been suggested our setup at board room level isn’t ideal it seems to be working fine as far as recruitment goes.
So personally I’m not either bothered nor interested in those suggestions.
1.) 11 Oct 2022 18:42:26
Just reading from Ornstein that Edu has turned down approaches from other clubs to stay with us.
Perhaps Ed meant AMN? And there was talk of Gabriel (not Martinelli) being unsettled a while ago.
{Ed014's Note - I just think things are much more together, especially the players, than is being suggested.
Gabriel seems more than happy and AMN isn’t even getting game time at Southampton so I’m going with what I see Sally.
2.) 12 Oct 2022 13:10:25
Completely agree ed14. I think the situation under josh's watch has improved compared to when his dad was more involved. Much more cohesion at management level with everyone seeming to be pulling in the same direction now.
Sadly I think the ship has sailed for AMN, I don't see him being able to cut it at the very highest level.
{Ed014's Note - that’s the way I’m seeing it for sure and totally agree on AMN, never considered him as good enough.
30 May 2022 07:51:19
Eddie and Elneny both signed. Good for squad depth, not great if the plan is to use them regularly in 1st team.
1.) 30 May 2022 08:28:00
Where does it say Eddie has signed mate.
2.) 30 May 2022 09:28:17
I’ve seen the pictures too and I’m sure it was on sky sports too.
3.) 30 May 2022 09:32:34
I thought it was the official Arsenal Facebook page but just checked back and it was actually a fan page 'Arsenal fc news wrap' - supposedly signed until 2027.let's wait and see.
25 Jan 2022 00:42:39
Jack Wilshere has been training and travelling with the squad. is there any intention for him to join us?
1.) 25 Jan 2022 07:20:07
I hope not - he’s had his time.
2.) 25 Jan 2022 20:33:31
No mate, pretty sure he is there to make up midfield numbers for drills etc.
14 May 2021 18:27:40
Hey Eds, is there any plans to update the mobile.arsenalrumours.co.uk site?
{Ed033's Note - Try visiting arsenalrumours.co.uk instead, it can cope with mobile phones.

Thank you Mr Edward the 2nd, you kind sir, it would be greatly appreciated.
12 Dec 2022 12:46:49
would be gutted if we lost Saliba, and even though Gabriel has a few mistakes in him, i think he'd be a huge loss too. Hopefully we can keep hold of them.
21 Oct 2022 14:06:21
No thank you! Skillful player but his attitude isn't the vibe we need in the dressing room.
{Ed014's Note - wow a huge no from me! That’s gotta be a load of hog wash!
03 Aug 2022 12:53:17
. and then we complain that it's all taking too long when in actual fact we should be asking how on earth do they manage to get multiple deals through in a single transfer window. I don't know about anyone else but multimillion investments at my place of work would take considerably longer!
21 Jul 2022 13:16:09
Seeing that a deal in principle has been agreed with Tielemans but it's dependent on departures - could be a number of different players but clubs preference is to move on Xhaka and Torreria.
11 Jan 2026 10:17:28
Not convinced at all, far too error prone and too easy to get past. That LH Side is wide open whenever he's on the pitch.
12 Oct 2022 13:10:25

In the words of Rio: "get the contract out, put it on the table. Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there"!
08 Aug 2022 14:33:51
Pretty sure Karl Hein was/ is being promoted to the 1st team Sussex.
26 Jul 2022 05:20:21
Not sure if it was the same interview that you read but saw one he gave with S*nSport which was very candid and I thought he came across very well. Not scared to ruffle a few feathers, knowing the clubs attitude was rotten to the core and needed a big shake up. You certainly can see the improvement and the 'vision'. Here's to more good things to come.
