Hey gals and lands,
What do you all think if Martinelle. He's been scoring some important goals for us this season.

23 Oct 2025 12:31:42
Always been a fan. He lost form last season, and I'll admit, I wobbled slightly on whether we could be a productive part of the squad, and he's definitely proved that he can be.

Have to hold my hands up here Mo, I wanted him gone so, I got egg on my face, will gladly eat humble pie for desert if he carries on scoring.

{Ed025's Note - i think you were right first time Bill, useful from the bench i would say mate but never a starter, just my opinion of course..

I think he’s one who has benefited from our squad depth giving more competition! He’s upped his game and we can only benefit! COYG.

I do think he upped his game this season as he can see its his last chance.
Yes Ed he is a very good squad player but I think he's proving to be more than just that for now. Hopefully he can keep up his form and even get more better.

{Ed025's Note - he has the ability Moe but he seems to flit in and out of games, he needs to get involved more for me and i know a lot goes through the right hand side with Saka but he could certainly do a lot more mate..

Ed025, behave and don't make us break out the lemon emoji 😂.

 0

{Ed025's Note - im not saying hes a lemon Sharpey, but he is certainly a light shade of lime mate.. :)

I agree, the added competition seems to have helped Martinelli rediscover his early form.

Hi All - bit busy currently but thought I'd post about the recent win. A good performance and drubbed the awkward squad 4-0 is very immpressive.

Raya has a rush of blood which in another fixture could prove costly. needs to calm down a bit, that said he is still performing well with a solid four in front of him.

For me the real test will be when Bayern visit town with an inform Harry Kane. That for me is a yardstick of where we currently are.

Also of note is look at the quality we have to come back in, quite remarkable really, for the first time in many years, true strength in depth.

Hi Banbury, totally agree on the squad strength mate.

Real last season and Athletico this season, these results were unimaginable as little as a year ago. The Bayern game will be interesting and a very exciting prospect as are all big games nowadays👍👍👍.

Ed01, was there a quick roundup this week that I missed?

 0

{Ed001's Note - no mate, my parents are here, not been able to watch (or mostly hear) all the games or to type anything up as we have been out and about all the time, sorry. Back to normal soon, as they are going home on the 27th.}

22 Oct 2025 15:16:20
Please tell them they have been a major inconvenience to me.

 0

{Ed001's Note - I tell them that they are a major inconvenience, in not so many words, all the time. I will happily point out that they are now inconveniencing everyone else as well!}

22 Oct 2025 16:41:19
Don't you dare Ed! Lol 😉 😜.

 0

{Ed001's Note - too late Sally. It's ok, they are old and will have forgotten by now.}

22 Oct 2025 17:43:24
Hopefully you got them to give you your Christmas presents before you were honest with them.

 0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, they got me a robot vacuum cleaner (mainly because we found a shop selling them for about 20 quid). It is great, just set Rob-E off in the morning and leave him to do the flat while we do other stuff.}

 0

22 Oct 2025 18:41:53
20 quid? I looked at getting one, mainly because I know the missus would trip over it, and they are extortionate.

Are they coming back for xmas or are you heading home?

 0

{Ed001's Note - yeah, it was a good price - listed at over 800 on Amazon in the UK. The one they got me was a little more expensive, as they were feeling flush, still a lot less than 40 quid though and listed on Amazon at over a grand. You can get bargains here if you avoid the tourist areas.

I doubt we will spend Xmas together this year. It is too expensive at that time to fly. This is their second trip out this year though, they love the area I am in now - my balcony overlooks the training pitches for the local football team's academy and it is just a case of crossing the road to take in a game. We went to the Asian Champions League match last night and it was free entry for normal tickets, you only pay for premium or hospitality seats.

When you next visiting the region mate?}

I've been doing all my holidaying local lately because the dog won't do kennels. So it's all dog friendly, out in the boonies stuff for me, and frankly, I've been loving it. Pity it's more expensive than a holiday abroad or I'd do more of them per year.

If I'm out your way though, I'll definitely give you a shout. I'm not drinking these days so we can both do teas.

Morning all Ed's and fellow gunners. hope alls well. just wanted to give a shout out to our manager mr Mikel Arteta. some may agree and some may not. (which is the beautiful thing about opinions) . and this is only my humble opinion. he left a cushy little number at city. to come home to the arsenal the team he genuinely loves, just as much as we do. i wouldn't call it a sleeping giant, I would call it a giant that fell flat on its face and was in a comatose. toxic environment in the squad which was leading to a more and more toxic environment in and around our fan base. he came in and installed a much better environment in everything we were aiming to achieve. he has carefully put us back together again. helped us heal. we now have a squad to be super proud of and a real fighting chance of doing some great things. and as a fan of this great club. I'm thankful to being back where we are. silverware if possible would be the cherry on the cake. COYG/ VTH 🔴⚪️❤️.

Hello Gabi mate, hope you and everyone are good. Mikel certainly had his doubters, me being one of them.3 runners up spots on the trot might be fantastic for some clubs but not for us. My main criticism has been his reluctance to change things I. e. subs but because I had tunnel vision there wasnt the quality in the bench to change things, but a big shout to Stan&Josh who put there money where their mouth was and Andrea Berti for getting the deals done and now we have all the bases covered.
Absolutely delighted for Big Vic last night to get a couple of goals.
He puts in a shift, pulls defenders all over the place and puts it about as well.
All in all, we are in a very good place
Take Gabi mate.

Hi bill, hope alls good… regarding Arteta. I watched an interview with Mikel merino he claimed Arteta to be the best coach he has worked with. a lot of the players he worked with at city really rated him, pep really rates him. if you listen to any of our players and a fair few people in the world of football rate him. he’s built us back up, provided us with some decent squads over the last few years. now he definitely has the squad to take us to the promised land. if the squad stays fit, focused and hungry and also a bit of Lady Luck on the way. then I believe we are in with a real shout. COYG/ VTH.

Great performance against a very good Athletico side and a great start to the champions league campaign. Finally, we look like a formidable team with strong bench and everyone contributing 100%. Read some statistics that since returning to Champions league, we have won all our home matches 27-0, if true that is a sign of a great team. Only, if we had a little luck on our side in the semi finals last season. We need the luck sometimes in football and we definitely had that yesterday, Raya’s moment of horror and Alvarez striking the cross bar, if those two goals had gone in, it may have been a different night. I said it at the start of the season, Raya has this indecision in his game that we need to cut out, it can prove costly in important matches. This is not a complaint or I am not whining, just a critical feedback as I want us to keep improving and achieve great things. COYG!

Morning Highbury. well said…by the way I was watching talksport online and the worlds biggest 🛎️🔚 that goes by the name of Jamie o’hara reckons athletic Madrid are bang average. what a melt. if the spuds had beaten athletic Madrid 4-0 he’d be raving about it for the next 10 years. still so twisted that he couldn’t make the grade at the Arsenal all them years ago. and yet the athletic Madrid boss came out last night and said the arsenal are the best team they have faced so far this season…last night was a tight game first half, second half we made one of the top teams in Spain look average by the way we took the handbrake off and put our foot down on the throttle hard. 🔴⚪️❤️.

22 Oct 2025 14:12:18
As if proof was needed O’Hara is a cock womble Atletico (same line up as last night) beat a full strength Real Madrid ( top of La Liga) 5-2 three weeks ago. Yep bang average! There’s a long long list but O’Hara is top of the worst pundits ever. COYG.

Hi Sussex. hope alls good. your bang on geezer. I do watch talksport online just for the cringe comedy that o’hara and Cundy produce on a regular occurrence. o’hara’s latest bit of nonsense is arsenal are killing the game because they are good at long throws and set pieces. also the other Womble that is Jamie carragher almost a year ago today praised Bournemouth for the quick thinking well coached set piece against the Arsenal. Forward a year and he also thinks we are killing football. I think the mighty gunners are starting to scare them and they truly can’t handle it. 🔴⚪️❤️.

Decent result thought it was a very professional performance from start to finish. well pleased for victor. hopefully he can go on a bit of scoring streak now, what I will say about him. you can not knock the effort he puts in. I think once he gets fully used to this team and them to him. we will see him hit beast mode. then we will really be cooking. 🔴⚪️❤️. COYG/ VTH.

Decent Gabi? I'd describe it as much more than decent mate 👍.

Hi g62 hope alls good. it was a mr Kipling of a result…. exceedingly good. 🔥🔥🔥🔥.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned much is that Gyökeres causes so much chaos that Martinelli has been getting far more space to play in. His goal (and MLS' run) tonight were our goal of the season so far for me. So pleased for Gabi.

I loved the reception he got when he left the pitch, made me quite emotional for the guy.

Very happy for Victor l, infact it looked like all the team were happy for him too.
Hopefully that can build his confidence.
