Will Spurs roll over for City to stop us winning or bust a gut to get into the CL? Answers on a postcard please :)

Sallyjannine!

{Ed025's Note - they will still be looking at the outside prospect of CL qualification Sally so they will be trying, but if they do get beat im sure the disappointment will be somewhat cushioned mate...win win for them i suppose..

Hi Sally I don't think there is any question whatsoever that if Spurs still have a chance of top 4 going into that game they will choose their own success 1000% above our downfall. The rivalry is huge and consistent for the fans but for the players, manager and club it's a professional business above everything else.

If Spurs season is over by the time they play City it will obviously a very different senario of course and I'd expect nothing more than sunglasses, armbands and deckchairs from them, exactly as i'd expect from our player's if the role's were reversed.

{Ed014's Note - Spurs have Chelsea and Liverpool away and Burnley at home before they play City.

7pts behind Villa with 2 games in hand.

Villa have two European games either side of Brighton away and Liverpool at home.

Everything still to play for in terms of that 4th place spot.

Wolves, Fulham and West Ham our other hopes for at least a draw against City.

We just need to ensure we turn over Bournemouth, United and Everton.

I totally agree Ed014 mate, we just need to control the things we have control over. City are an excellent outfit just as we are but in premier league football no game is ever won lost or drawn until the game has been played for 90 minutes plus, there are no gimmes in the premier league, but if both us and City make it to the last game of the season totally unscathed then its important for us that Spurs need something from the game themselves if we are to need any favours from them.

{Ed014's Note - the Spurs vs City game is one of the games in hand for the spuds and is 14th May so 5 days before the final fixtures on the 19th.

Be good if Liverpool can pull themselves together and beat Villa on the 13th so that the 14th means so much more to the spuds.

Oh, that's good news Ed014, for some weird reason I thought City v Spurs was the last game of the season, the earlier its played the more likely it is to matter to Spurs season.

Just like to say hope you all enjoy the match tonight.

Hubby is using my phone to watch City so I won't be joining livechat but I hope we get the result that would send our happiness into the stratosphere! ⚽️ ?.

Absolutely Sally absolutely.

We can be extremely confident that both mangers and set's of players will be giving it everything they have to give to be in the semi final after tonight's game. We all have days and periods where we are at our absolute best everything just fall's into place for use we've ease and we all have days and times when no matter how hard we try we just can't
seem to achieve what we desperately want to achieve at that time.

I have no clue how tonight's game will go but whatever happens I'm happy to accept everyone will have given the best they had to give on the night, win or lose. Up The Arsenal before during and after the tonight's game no matter what happens ?????.

I agree with Wrighty when he called out fans streaming out of the Emirates after we conceded against Villa. Do these fans only support our club when we are winning?
After our brilliant season this seems totally disrespectful.

I've always admired fans of who sing even louder when their team falls behind in an attempt to lift the players, now if ever fans had any influence on a result surely it then. Sing when your losing, that's making yourself part of the solution rather than simply moaning about the problem.

2.) 16 Apr 2024 13:43:26
I think some fans do lose faith quite quickly.
But having been to the Emirates often it is not the best place to get out from. I always if I am on my own leave between 5 to 10 minutes early as I live almost 65 miles away and if you are going to Arsenal or Finsbury Park station it is a nightmare and approaching my 68th birthday I would rather keep my journey to about 2hrs rather than 3.
There are fans who Jack it at the slightest problem but I would have left 5 to 10 minutes early Sunday irrespective of the score line.

Glad you're not one of the "if I can't get what I want immediately I'll scream" brigade Bill :)
