Hi Ed a while ago you mentioned Guido Rodriguez could be available at £25 - £30 mill . In the last month have Arsenal expressed any interest in him? Thanks in advance COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Yes, nothing has changed, Guido Rodriguez (DM) If someone comes up with €75M he will be sold. There is no interest at that price but Arsenal have watched the playerbut without several departures do not need another DM player. It seems very unlikely the player would want the move after only being in Spain since January last year although Real Betis would be open to a sale. A reasonable fee might be €20M-€25M - but that may not be enough for them. He remains a potential option.}

1.) 19 Jul 2021 15:52:29
Thanks Ed.

Medical on 26th July for Ben White! Heard a rumour during Euros that he was going to Vegas with Jack Grealish! What could go wrong lol COYG.

Johnny will look after them 🖒😎.

Hi Ed I know it was only a week ago you gave info on Locatelli but since then it seems we have lodged an "important bid " according to Sassuolo. Do you know if the bid is close to their asking price and is the player interested in joining us? Thanks in advance COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Manuel Locatelli (DM) Juventus have tried and failed on a number tried to take him from Milan and now Sassuolo without luck with the player saying he wants the move but cannot see how he will get a game in Turin and that is the only issue to resolve. Real Madrid have him on their list of optional targets to Camavinga. Milan would like him back whilst his agent has said Sevilla, Chelsea and Manchester CIty provide options but not as first choice. Arsenal have made an approach to Sassuolo through a third party.}

1.) 01 Jul 2021 10:09:47
We're only 'ahead in the race' so to speak because we're the only team to make a formal offer.

"There is interest from Juventus, we haven't explored all the terms and evaluations but we have an excellent relationship with Juventus so we will continue these talks. It's true that other clubs from abroad are interested, Arsenal are one of these and they are ahead of everyone else because they tabled the only concrete offer we have received so far".

Personally I can't see this going anywhere for us but of course it would be great if did happen. I dread to think what our 'concrete offer' is but no doubt it's nowhere near the asking price.

2.) 01 Jul 2021 11:36:20
HaHa Glenn or an offer nowhere near the asking price plus a pound! I read he wasn`t nailed on for Juve as couldn`t see where he could get a game. Whereas he would for us I guess. Remains to be seen but I`m interested to see if we still are taking the p8ss with low offers ( some would argue prudent in current times ) or have we identified definite targets and gone Boom and offered at least close to the asking price and stop embarrassing us on the world and domestic stage. I`ve long stopped worrying about transfer fees and wages etc and let others worry about it - we`ve all got enough on our plates without worrying about that! Used the word worry too many times! No worries COYG.

3.) 01 Jul 2021 13:22:04
You're not wrong there Sussex mate. My only concern is selling players for the right price, or for any price for that matter. None of the sales are near completion yet with the closes probably being Xhaka to Roma. We really need to offload and we seem to be struggling.

I am pleased with the sort of players that we are being linked with which is awesome but if we don't manage to offload a large portion of players we'll just be overcrowded again.

We seem to be doing business relatively quietly so I'm going to sit back and keep everything crossed that move players on for a good cumulative figure.

Hi Ed002 I read on the European pages that Arsenal were interested in Camavinga but ruled out as we didn`t have the money . I am assuming that is still the case but do you know if we are the only club prepared to trigger Isak`s release clause or are we still lacking in funds? Thanks for any info in advance COYG.

{Ed002's Note - Eduardo Camavinga (DM/CM) Rennes will look for a summer auction as he the player has no interest in signing a new contract. Serious approaches for Camavinga have been made by Real Madrid, PSG, Arsenal, Manchester United and Spurs - but Arsenal can be discounted as they do not have the money nor the real need for the player and Spurs, and possibly Manchester United, as they are not attractive destinations for many players. Interest has also been shown by Borussia Dortmund (who were quoted €100M), Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Genk - but the last two can be discounted as they simply don't have the funds and the others have other targets. A move to England for the kiddie is less likely than a move to Spain. He is perhaps a little way from first team football at the highest level but PSG, Barcelona and Real Madrid are considering taking a chance on him in the summer but will not pay the revised COVID-19 asking price of €75M and with Zidane departing Real Madrid that might change. Bayern Munich see him as an option to Zakaria. There was a discussion about the player with Chelsea who have a very good relationship with Rennes, but they have a preferred option and see the price as too high - but perhaps something could be negotiated depending on departures which would be the driver for Chelsea. PSG would be best placed right now as Real Madrid have other priorities.

Alexander Isak (S) Michael Zorc wants to take him back from Real Sociedad regardless of any different wishes of the coach at Borussia Dortmund. Barcelona see him as a possible addition. Manchester City have a desire to add the player as a squad member but not as a Aguero replacement. Chelsea have considered him as a Tammy Abraham replacement but consider the asking price high. Manchester United have watched the player but are less attractive as a destination. Arsenal see him as an option to their preferred Lacazette replacements but the price is a concern. Real Madrid are keen. Real Sociedad have financial woes and may take the opportunity to profit but ideally want to remove the buy back clause and keep him another year. They will seek the full €70M termination fee in cash from sides other than Borussia Dortmund but will likely not get takers at that price allowing them to keep him another year.}

1.) 26 Jun 2021 22:39:51
No sure if you have answered this Ed, but who is the preferred Laca replacement were he to go this summer? Excellent info as always mate.

{Ed002's Note - Donyell Malen but the damage has been done and he is not interested.}

2.) 27 Jun 2021 07:48:38
Thanks Ed.

3.) 27 Jun 2021 07:18:29
Fascinating info Ed and thank you! Doesn’t look good for Isak Camavinga or Malen as far as Arsenal are concerned COYG.

{Ed002's Note - I think it will be difficult.}

4.) 28 Jun 2021 19:15:04

Boooooom! Emil signs COYG.

1.) 22 Jul 2021 15:50:16
The fact they have given him the number 10 shirt speaks volumes too. Great news!

21 Jul 2021 09:24:30
Harry Hindsight here! Do a Search on this site Jorginho and see if you were one of those who didn`t want a possible Ballon D`Or winner here! I didn`t want him but a year later he`s a Champions League Euros and possible best in world winner . Funny old game COYG.

1.) 21 Jul 2021 12:34:19
Hindsight is a wonderful thing mate and we'd all be worth a fortune if we could swap it for foresight, but until then we just have to all simply put our hands up and say whoops on a regular basis :-)

2.) 21 Jul 2021 17:15:22
Great player when he’s given time on the ball. but when he’s pressured which England didn’t do he’s prone to mistakes.

20 Jul 2021 08:28:54
Is it just me wishing Danny Mills would just shut the feck up! COYG.

1.) 20 Jul 2021 09:01:39
What did he say Sussex?

2.) 20 Jul 2021 10:00:08
He's been talking crap about Ben White being too good for Arsenal and that he expects him to only be there a few years and then move on to a better team.

3.) 20 Jul 2021 12:32:32
Constantly ( or might be just once rehashed ) as Jaybo said Arsenal a stepping stone, too good for Arsenal etc etc Also included in the shut the feck up club Gabby Agnickedaliving Smith Rowe going to a big club Lineker Maddison a step down etc . As Arsenal fans we can have a pop at Arsenal but no one else can Irrational? Totally! Right? who knows just what I think . They`re only sticking up for their clubs like me which is why football is so tribal and we love it. Mills has just irritated me today - although the good news is he has said Ben White is a hell of a player . Rant over and relax COYG.

4.) 20 Jul 2021 13:00:07
Well, unfortunately Leicester probably are a more attractive club than Arsenal and Utd are bigger.

Hats off to Edu for getting Ben White’s deal over the line. To be fair, Liverpool were second tier a few years ago and before all the money no one had really witnessed City or Chelsea winning.

Hopefully Ben returns us to where we should be and we can give Danny and Lineker the finger on our way back up. Great to hear he’s a good signing and hopefully that’s our first step back to the future.

COYG.

5.) 20 Jul 2021 13:20:29
yep let's hope we shake top four up this season and like the buying young and good policy as opposed to Luiz and Willian style transfers COYG.

6.) 20 Jul 2021 13:40:41
I don't see Leicester as a more attractive option over Arsenal. What do they really offer? Arsenal are still a massive club in world football. Yes they've fallen off the past few years but that's expected when a new infrastructure is brought in. I have faith it'll all come good. I'm not one of those blind Arsenal fans that just expect everything, i can see our failings but i can also see what they are trying to do. But Leicester being a more attractive option, no chance.

{Ed002's Note - European football.}

7.) 20 Jul 2021 14:51:24
That's not the be all and end all though is it? To the huge stars it might be, but the players who aren't established, its really not that important. Maddison isn't a super star so leaving Leicester to Join Arsenal would still be a huge step up.

8.) 20 Jul 2021 18:59:57
20 year old European and world football fans might not agree with you about Arsenal being a massive name on the world stage Jaybo mate, it was 13 years ago that Arsenal last took part in the later stages of the champions league when those 20 year olds were just 7, so I'm not sure outside England our name counts for much at all and even in England our reputation is in heavy decline.

We need to walk the walk as a big club again because we can talk the talk all we want but few people but Arsenal fans are buying our big talk and ignoring their eyes.

Sir Kieran back in training a week early! I know the Scots were home before the postcards but even so! Bet he fancies the Rangers game! going to be a Ledge COYG.

{Ed014's Note - good time to stop with the throwing the armband around and give it to KT.

1.) 14 Jul 2021 20:28:39
A matter of time Ed COYG.

{Ed014's Note - 🤞🏼

2.) 14 Jul 2021 20:47:29
Tierney is everything you want in a player and captain.
He's a brilliant example for younger players to look up to and follow both on and off the field.

3.) 14 Jul 2021 20:50:02
It’s embarrassing how Wenger and Arteta have treated that armband. I can’t imagine the honor you would feel wearing that armband and shirt.

We need more winners and leaders in our squad.

4.) 14 Jul 2021 22:13:43
Give Mr T the armband you fool.

5.) 14 Jul 2021 23:00:43
What about Emery and his Dr Who The 5 captains approach?

It's devalued the title and stripped all meaning and authority the position once held.

6.) 14 Jul 2021 23:55:00
Bloody forgot about him completely - 5 bloody captains but no leaders.

Would love a Chiellini, Ramos, Aguero or Fernandinho type player or two so we had that mentality and winners in the squad. Like Luiz but good.

7.) 15 Jul 2021 07:58:01
We do SY, the very chap this post was about. KT 100%.

8.) 15 Jul 2021 13:06:07
True but he’s not an experienced winner - look how Chiellini handled himself in the final. Experience, winner and a rock. KT will become that but we need an old head also. I’d like an experienced CD and either CF or CM to get the spine and attitude right. Then better people around Arteta.

9.) 15 Jul 2021 18:18:38
Well that’s why I was a bit surprised by the B White link. Thought we would have tried to replace Luiz with experience like Chelsea did Thiago Silva.

10.) 15 Jul 2021 21:32:32
We don’t run our club as well as Chelsea and have poorer standards and expectations. Top to bottom.

Depends on fee and more importantly who we don`t buy if we spend big on him. Don`t sweat the fees and wages they`re ridiculous! He is good enough and could be a very good signing great on deadball situations too. Think he fell out over C.V. breach and dropped for fa cup final so wants away maybe. Prem ready and much prefer to MO ( yes SirWenger I realised it was Oedegaard not ozil just obviously a poor joke ) . Keep feeling relieved MO staying at Madrid, get Aouar and or Maddison! Liking the Aarons rumours rubber stamped by ED002 saying we are interested! Exciting times COYG.

I can see why Aouar`s selling fee has dropped as Lyon need the money and his apparent loss of form but the amount potentially £35 mill less seems drastic! Seems the same with Pjanic who was worth £60mill only a year ago. Remains to be seen to see if whoever buys them they are a bargain or other teams were right to swerve them . Are Arsenal looking at Pjanic Ed? Thanks in advance COYG.

{Ed002's Note - No but there is interest from England.}

I1m looking at it I guess hoping PEA scores the goals this season but can`t see him doing it down the centre. If he`s lazy and continually wastes possession with poor crossing drop him as you say Martinelli Pepe Saka would step up. Not trying to square peg round hole but square peg square hole or bench COYG.

PEA delivered on the left for two seasons so why not play him there? If he doesn`t deliver drop him simple . I`m not saying play PEA at all costs just not down the middle . Play him in a position he has been excellent in - if he doesn`t try score or add to the team drop him. In racing terms he has form there COYG.

And yet 62 didn`t PEA score tons of goals playing off the left before last season. So not moving him from his favoured/ best position because he scored feck all from the centre last season.

Remember the balls Tierney kept playing for him? Cutting in from left - Very effective. So who is our most consistent and reliable performer down the left because it ain`t Willian, Martinelli barely played and as I stated in my opinion Saka`s best moments are down the right where he kept £73 mill Sancho out the national team, so who?

Also would you keep PEA down the centre when he`s been slaughtered on here for his performances there COYG.
