We enquired about both. Isak wasn’t interested and Rodrygo was after £350k per week which I agree for a player who could be flaky was far too big a gamble.

Crazy window. At the beginning someone suggested something like 6-8 signings. I said that was too many players in one window. While i still think my point was valid (as i think too much change can bring too much instability) , clearly the club agreed with the other guy (if you're reading this i'm sorry i can't remember your name) .

Is Hincapie seen as primarily a center back or full back? I wonder if he can be the overlapping full back to complete our new left hand side. That's the last kind of profile this squad lacks in my opinion, and it will maximise the impact Eze will have.

Guess he’s a replacement for Kiwior and once Kiwior and Zinchenko are sold we have 7 defenders- Hincapie makes 8 and can cover LB and CB. No idea if he’s any good - seen him mentioned across the sites but if he’s an upgrade then ? . Maybe Saka not missing many games hopefully maybe waiting for Jesus to cover come October time. Just hope Victor stays fit - seems risky - one Hincapie=1 Watkins but need two defenders in each position I guess COYG.

Context is important Sussex. You're counting defenders as a whole whereas we're looking at CBs. We have four at for two positions with one looking to leave whereas you all already have 6 CBs and are looking to add one more. Maybe it is Arteta's ultimate game plan to fill his entire starting 11 with them eh? He's already more than halfway there ;)

White, Mosquera, Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori, Timber. That's six right there.

And before you say that White, Calafiori, and Timber aren't CBs since they play as RBs/ LBs for you, I would just like to add that they were primarily playing as CBs in the previous clubs before they moved to Arsenal. Similar to how Hincapie is playing as a CB now for Leverkusen.

Am I missing something? Great news regarding Eze but how does that solve the problem regarding Kai’s injury? Depending on severity we need cover as if Viktor gets injured who plays? Unless Martinelli is set to cover playing centrally! At least he won’t have to worry about defending Certainly explains Tross situation. Or as we are bringing in Gooners to the club maybe Watkins as Villa interested in Jackson apparently! If Kai is out for a short time then sure we will use viktor and cover with Martinelli/ Tross/ Merino COYG.

I think you're right that the cover will be trossard/ merino and maybe martenelli if desperate. It makes sense as if we got another cf in then we'd have gyokores and the new cf with havertz and jesus to return. Seems too stacked for one position.

Arsenal enquired and spoke about price structure but no offer was made. Not really sure we need him there’s enough midfield quality. He’s 27 hardly going to have a resale value and he’ll probably warm the bench a lot. I’m sure there’s another better player for Arsenal incoming.

The word going around is that we do not have to sell to buy eze, but we are holding off bidding because rodrygo is our main target and we are waiting to see if he wants to leave or if Madrid will let him leave.

Not entirely- Eze has been considered as a midfielder. Rodrygo fulfils a different role he’s a versatile attacker who can cover all the front 3 positions. The problem is wages…. he wants over £300k.

As Nathan ? says himself he’s versatile across front five and happy to play and cover where needed. Think he’ll mainly share Saka cover with Max and cover Ode with Eze hopefully! I thought he was excellent covering Saka last season and will only improve ( and not his position either) Brilliant news COYG.
