Another day, another name. Anyone have any information on Ralf Rangnick? Wikipedia makes him out to be the perfect fit.
1.) 24 Apr 2018 22:57:45
I’d be very happy if he brought Red Bull ownership with him but I doubt that and doubt anyone else would be happy other than me.
2.) 25 Apr 2018 14:17:38
Red Bull seems to bulldoze over lots of important club history and traditions at their other purchases. I know a Salzburg fan who was disgusted with how they conducted things and ended up not supporting the club at all after that. Not saying the same will happen, but there are red flags.

Ed, you mentioned below that arsenal have looked at Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma. In your opinion and knowledge who is the better player?
{Ed002's Note - I have no way of comparing players.}
1.) 04 Jun 2019 04:43:58
Zouma for me. Keane is overpriced and too easily given the runaround. Wenger wanted Zouma before he went to Chelsea, incidentally.

How much of a say has Dick in arsenal's transfers? Would he have been involved in last summer's transfers?
One of the Ed's said in the summer that Dick is to be the coach and Sven and Raul were the transfer men.
Thanks in advance.
1.) 04 Feb 2019 21:42:33
Who really knows but the fact he had Gouendouzi at psg and suarez at seville, may mean he has an input. don't know about leno soc or lich, the first two sound like sven. Lich is a mystery.
2.) 04 Feb 2019 22:01:28
I understand people's frustration with the lack of defence organisation but when people are having a go about his signings then that's unfair. Dick has to work with what he has got.
3.) 04 Feb 2019 22:53:59
Paddy I think the summer signings are the highlight of Dicks tenure so far, whoever chose them, Sven is my guess because that's was his job.
Lich is the only slight downside but 1 out of 5 bad signings, wow if we'd had that strike rate with all our deals of the last 10 years we'd be champions of the premier league and probably la liga too :-)
The lack of progress on the field is the problem.
4.) 04 Feb 2019 23:34:55
Think arsene snuck in for the lich one Steve. And without looking in sure guendozi didn't come from psg mate.
5.) 05 Feb 2019 00:58:29
D, Gouendouzi was at psg when emery was there. He then went to a team in the french second division.
6.) 05 Feb 2019 03:18:30
He was a psg youth, D.
7.) 05 Feb 2019 04:47:51
Steve, Gwen was a Mislintat’s buy. Unai might have a suggestion. But Unai hasn’t worked with Gwen, as Gwen left PSG at 2014 and Unai joined PSG long after that.
{Ed001's Note - Emery has had input only in the January window and the only player signed because of his input was Dennis Suarez. Emery had nothing to do with the rest, he has never really had much involvement in transfers at any club he has been with. He is a head coach, not a manager. His remit does not include transfers.}
8.) 05 Feb 2019 05:32:21
Sen i stand corrected on his departure. i'm quite sure i read somewhere that Dick had been following his career. But i wouldn't take it away from mislintat, he's a great kid.
9.) 05 Feb 2019 06:38:23
Thanks Ed.
{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}
10.) 05 Feb 2019 08:19:19
Well full credit to Sven on Papa Torreira and Guendouzi, Leno I'm uncertain about and Lich was definitely worth the gamble for a season on a free and he has been needed.
Looks like we will miss Sven next summer more than we actually realised.
11.) 05 Feb 2019 09:29:55
Thanks Ed001 for the clarification.
As Ed001 stated, Emery has always worked with the players he has, and he has inherited a squad which has finished on top 6 last season. And in addition to that he has got a proper DM which we were craving about (a great one as well) , kid who is doing very well and a full season from one of a lethal strikers.
It's pretty clear he wants to ship Ozil out, but until club manages to do that, it's imperative that the best creative outlet which we have should be played. Playing Ramsey (who is leaving) and Suarez ahead of him is not the right approach at least to me.
Thanks.
Sen.
{Ed001's Note - welcome Sen.}
12.) 05 Feb 2019 09:44:46
Good post Sen
I'm torn on Mesut because of him being unavailable so often more than anything else.
But he might be and Aaron won't be here next season so it doesn't make sense to play Ramsey before Mesut.
Personally I'm happy for Dick to play neither in order to build for the future my biggest problem with Dick is either not being capable or not being focused on sorting out our defence and forming it into an any more effective unit than it has been for a decade, for me that at is a huge concern because what we needed more than anything after Arsene was a manager who understood the value of being organised and effective at the back in order to be competitive.
13.) 05 Feb 2019 10:37:26
I can't imagine Emery as manager doesn't have the final say in signings. As stated Guendouzi was with Emery at PSG and Suarez was with him Spain. Of the 5 signings made during Emery's time at the club, only Lichtsteiner has been a disappointment and we have to see how Suarez shapes up.
We must be more positive as we are one win from 4th placed Chelsea who are away to Man City at the weekend, whilst we face bottom club Huddersfield. We have a decent draw in the last 32 of the Europa League.
14.) 05 Feb 2019 12:47:03
Accept it RG Dick didn't chose the players we bought last summer Sven did.
I know you want everything good to be down to Dick and all the bad bits to be someone else's fault but if that's not the reality then it's silly to pretend otherwise just to make Dick look good.
Accept facts mate even if they don't suite your argument.
15.) 05 Feb 2019 13:56:35
So the one window Emery has a say in - we sign the wrong bloody player and not what we need 👠ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘.
16 May 2018 11:29:26
Where is everyone getting their information from about Arteta. Seems like people are overreacting to daily mail and sky "sources" rumours.
1.) 16 May 2018 11:52:09
Paddy your my new favourite :-)
Why would every media source in the country know what the Eds Ornstein and BBC don't know?
It's Irrational to think only the reliable sources are wrong and the hit seekers right.
2.) 16 May 2018 13:12:48
As much as i will probably get slated for posting this, ill do it anyway. People can slate Sky Sports all they want but how can everyone say they're unreliable when this page is just a forum also? Nobody really knows on here either until its confirmed by the clubs itself! Info on here and on Sky Sports is talk until its confirmed. Its just makes a good read for the club supporters! Papertalk is papertalk, simple. Sky Sports is as close to correct as you'll get until the club makes it official.
3.) 16 May 2018 13:46:04
Agree with Glenn.
I don't read too much into paper talk, but if it's on Sky Sports it has credible substance.
{Ed001's Note - or, more often, there is a betting market to stir up.}
4.) 16 May 2018 13:51:39
Sorry but haven't you read ed002's posts? He hasn't state Arteta is already the man, but he has been clear about how our options are getting slim, as well as Arteta has come to the fore.
It seems from this information, as things stand, that Carlo could be our only option to the Arteta move. And I do trust ed002 here.
5.) 16 May 2018 14:46:04
I think it would be dumb not to make a few concessions to get anew manager. Most managers like to take a player who they have worked with or can implement their style.
6.) 16 May 2018 14:52:21
I pretty much only trust what ed002 says. I am aware of the 'rumors' from media everyday, but choose to ignore them. If you think about how much football gossip has changed over the years, it makes sense why so many stories come out. When I was younger, you would buy the weekly newspaper and have a small section in the back pages for football gossip.
These days, with the internet and advertising, websites are expected to produce 'new' stories and 'breaking exclusives' every. single. day! Heck, every single hour! All they want is clicks, and at the moment anything resembling Wenger's replacement is the hottest clickbait around.
Sky sports for me are included in this. How many stories over the years have looked genuine, odds on, and then turned out to be bull? The only information that i've ever seen turn out to be true, came from this website.
7.) 16 May 2018 16:17:20
The Eds tell us what they know and if they don't know they just say " I don't know " Sky makes its money from ads so if there ain't no news they make it up like the rest of the media that is ad or hit dependent.
There just isn't enough real news to sustain a 24/7 football news so they simply invent what they don't know.
8.) 16 May 2018 15:43:12
Good point Ed001.
{Ed001's Note - don't sound so surprised, I was bound to make one eventually!}
15 Apr 2018 15:40:54
Just read that allegri is learning english. Not a reliable source but it's nice to dream.
1.) 15 Apr 2018 16:47:52
Probably to go to chelski.
03 Nov 2019 13:59:43
What about Rafa? Premier league experience, can organise a defense and has won trophies.
08 Aug 2019 11:10:22
Luiz and papa in aback 4 will keep referees happy.
07 Aug 2019 23:45:00
Luiz would be a good signing. Scores regularly for a cb, can pass long range and good on the ball. And in fairness for less than 10m its worth a punt. Who else is available that wants to join arsenal?
06 Aug 2019 19:31:07
Jack, i tink she's from sampdoria or narnia.
17 Jun 2019 12:52:00
Was it ever on or was it all agent noise and media speculation.
08 Nov 2019 10:23:38
Cant believe mourinho is being mention for the Arsenal job. The biggest asset of Arsenal is its youth. Mourinho's track record is terrible with young players.
04 Nov 2019 20:29:10
Thanks Ed, great seeing you on the page again.
04 Nov 2019 16:27:51
In your opinion Ed, who's door should arsenal be knocking? What managers would you see as a good fit for Arsenal?
{Ed002's Note - The problem, Paddy, is that the structure is skewed and that makes it tough to recruit someone and explain responsibilities. Arsenal could try the safe and boring route with the likes of Thomas Tuchel who may not care about the structure, Jesse Marsch who is not the kind of guy to walk away from a problem but that would be an adventure too far. Maybe we will see in the summer.}
02 Nov 2019 22:34:58
And it's our favourite month too.
{Ed047's Note - ahh heck I’d forgotten that! 😩
02 Nov 2019 21:50:29
This time next week we could be 9 points off 4th going in to the international break.
{Ed047's Note - yep, I doubt we’ll get anything from the Leicester game and that’ll be 2 from 12.
