Reading lots of chatter about Zinny being moved on. I thought his cameo the other day showed we should keep him in the midfield area.
29 Nov 2024 20:00:19
Too many mistakes in him for me Sally.
29 Nov 2024 20:09:36
Hes a bit of a defensive liability at lb and not good enough for cm in my opinion. I imagine he will need to move if he wants to play.
29 Nov 2024 23:58:19
I agree as a leftback he has a mistake in him but when he is further forward he was threading through some lovely passes considering he has been sidelined so much.
30 Nov 2024 11:34:38
I don’t think sunny is the right choice but love the guy and think if used as a sub and cup games would be good further up field.
01 Dec 2024 00:51:09
Agreed, when he plays in midfield I think he adds a ton of creativity. Haven't been convinced by Merino yet and think Zinchenko could use the chance to show what he's got in that left 8 role.
01 Dec 2024 13:32:34
Crikey! Don't slate Merino, you'll wake up 14!
{Ed014's Note - not sure why anyone would slate him, he’s just got here, not even had a run of games to settle in.
But hey let’s mark him as shite from the off! ?♂️
01 Dec 2024 17:13:11
Calm down 14, it was just a joke. To make it up to you, I'll give the lad 2 or 3 seasons to come decent. After that though, all bets are off.
P. S. so what's the real reason you don't come into chat anymore? Is it because Mal swears? He said he'd stop.
{Ed014's Note - you’re very generous, thank you.
To much negativity mate.
02 Dec 2024 08:18:04
Mate, the negativity is everywhere, not just our tiny corner of the internet. It's literally everywhere, even in real life.
You're well equipped to just take in the bits you like and do what some of us do with the bits we don't like - have a moan about it.
Staying away is basically letting the negativity win, and chat is a little less pleasant without you there to take the pish out of me.
Get yourself sorted fella, and keep your chin up.
{Ed014's Note - I know mate and chin is always up, I’m just amazed with so many good things about us right now, people can still moan.
Just really can’t be arsed with that stuff where ever it is.
02 Dec 2024 11:37:27
I’ve really cut back on
My swearing, and if you wasn’t stoned all the time you would of seen that.
02 Dec 2024 19:28:53
Ed14 - pop on our livechat for the united game, they've all been whinging about missing you.
{Ed014's Note - I’m out Wednesday night SW but will endeavour to get in for the Fulham game mate

Morning lads n sally
I can't for the life of me decide who's the better cb.
Gabriel or Saliba?
28 Nov 2024 09:23:27
Big Gabby for me.
28 Nov 2024 09:34:21
Hi mal, I absolutely love the pair of them….
28 Nov 2024 12:36:02
Together they are brilliant, apart its hard to tell if they would be as successful individually. They bring different qualities to compliment each other. I'd go 50/ 50.
29 Nov 2024 22:50:47
Love them both. With either of them out we are really weak and the other struggles. We don’t really have any decent replacement for either of them keep them both and we will have success lose either one and we are in free fall.
30 Nov 2024 00:39:08
Fence sitters the lot of you (;
01 Dec 2024 00:53:25
Tbf their skill sets are different, Saliba has the better awareness and is superb at mopping up. Gabi is the better man marker and I'm not sure I've ever seen a better attacker at corners, he is just irrepressible. If I had to pick who is more important for our play, Gabi, but only just, and we don't have a RCB replacement for Saliba like we do for Gabi with Calafiori.
27 Nov 2024 08:03:26
Morning Trish, how's it going?
Lots of talk we are in for a striker in January
I watched the lad from Lisbon last night closely and have to say I didn't see much about him
If you was to choose a forward for us that would suit our style of play who would it be?
Thanks mate.
{Ed001's Note - Gyokeres certainly didn't impress last night, though he is probably the one closest to the type that would suit your way of playing. Lautaro Martinez would probably be a good choice, but at 27 it might be that he has missed his chance of that big move now. His price would probably be exorbitant and PSR will bite on finances. I think Boniface is probably the one to look at. Seems like a good lad as well.}
27 Nov 2024 08:21:46
Were you watching the arsenal last night then ed001?
What do you make of us this season?
A.
{Ed001's Note - I watched as much as I could between editing, you looked back to something akin to your best. You look much more solid with a proper left-back. I just hope Arteta has realised that he built a side that is perfect for taking the game to teams and has given up on trying to be pragmatic.}
27 Nov 2024 08:24:29
Thanks for the reply mate
I see a bit of sesko looks a good prospect.
{Ed001's Note - Sesko is very much the same as Havertz though, which is why I didn't put him forward. I don't think he would be an upgrade on him, so no point in splashing the money.}
27 Nov 2024 08:50:00
Thanks for your insight trish
Do you go to Edoo2 funeral mate.
{Ed001's Note - no mate, I am not in the country. I moved home a day or two before he passed and am still trying to get everything sorted and settle in.}
27 Nov 2024 12:48:23
Ed001 do you see Isak as a good fit for us?
{Ed001's Note - technically, yes. I have worries about his attitude though, he seems a bit happy to take the money rather than looking for trophies.}
27 Nov 2024 14:02:49
Thanks ed001, that's a bit concerning.
{Ed001's Note - it does bother me, I mean he didn't join Newcastle to win things. He has not moved yet with the intent of doing anything other than taking a good contract and signing fee, plus the standard 5% cut of transfer fee that players get. He could have joined a number of clubs, but Newcastle offered the most money.}
27 Nov 2024 15:51:03
First time watching Gyokeres for a full match and all I could really think about was how much Gabi had his number. I could see flashes of potential but given how cut off the Sporting midfield was from him, probably a bad game to evaluate him on.
I wonder if Osimhen will leave Galatasaray soon? Seems like he's wasted in Turkey.
28 Nov 2024 18:58:35
I've just read a rumour he wants ManU, to meet up with Amorin again.
28 Nov 2024 19:07:49
Do we need to upgrade on Havertz? We definitely need cover or someone to push him so I think Sesko is the best bet.
I’ve seen rumours around Wharton in January which makes sense as Jorginho and Partey will probably move on in the summer.
28 Nov 2024 19:12:13
We should also 100000% be looking at Cherki at Lyon. Could be an absolute bargain with Lyon’s financial problems.
29 Nov 2024 07:36:54
Don't know what you were watching, he went past Kiwior like he didn't exist and hit the post. He hardly got any supply tbh.

Superb
Now that's how you win away in Europe.
27 Nov 2024 09:21:42
Absolutely Mal mate.
Taking the game to them.
Keeping possession, high tempo
Fantastic performance.
26 Nov 2024 11:53:44
just went to the rumours page andfoudn ed002's comments, although never met the person just nowing tat he won't be around got mea little emotional. Good luck ed002 hope its better up there than it is down here.
If we are serious about moving forward on the pitch than Gyokeres is a must, and without Edu i'm hoping we can get this sorted quicker than usual (sorry just couldn't bring myself to putting this on rumours page)
26 Nov 2024 22:15:30
Wouldn't take him over Isak g4e?
27 Nov 2024 07:32:25
I can't post there either, can't bring myself to push the man to page 2. They should make it a shrine.
I wonder whether Gyokeres might now have played himself into the sights of bigger fish than ourselves, but I'd be happy if we could sign him. I admittedly don't watch newcastle often, but I have doubts over whether Isak can lead the line for a team that's challenging.
Neither of them will be cheap.
27 Nov 2024 18:18:00
I don't think Newcastle would sell Isak and I don't see him as the solution to our problems Gyokeres I think is a different breed a work horse always running in everywhere good with his head and feet. didn't do anything against us but do you blame him our defence is something else. Also they have switched manager so probably take a few games before team adapts to his style of play. If we have our starting 11 fit and well and no prem refs we are untouchable. I think Gyokeres will probs end up at united or chelsea if he is after the money.

Thanks Ed033.
24 Nov 2024 00:11:04
Well played boys - nice clean sheet and 3 nice goals. Bit more energy in our play. Nwaneri gets the ball and just wants to go forward fast - love it.
Saka - well played and really benefited from having another forward thst defenders are concerned about so they have to decide who to double up on. Sake or Ode - just not the case with Martinelli. Jesus and Kai as they don't really scare anyone like those two. well done
Shows the strength in having decent forwards and star players as they scare defenders.
24 Nov 2024 03:20:48
Fantastic win, full of zeal and magic, a mighty cause for optimism. Hope Ode stays fit and we keep going at teams.
24 Nov 2024 16:01:39
Night and day to how we played without Odegaard. Credit to Jesus as well, can't score for toffee but his movement was a big part of our attacking potency. I really hope that Arteta realises we don't have to be pragmatic all the time when Nwaneri can step in and keep us ticking.
Also feel that Timber doesn't get enough credit. He is a supreme athlete and his movement is so intelligent at finding space. Great performance against a good away team.
27 Nov 2024 07:35:59
I think Timber hasn't been praised as much as he might if he'd been available from the start, but he has looked very good indeed. Calafiori too, we no longer have the great big weakness to target at LB!
23 Nov 2024 19:35:41
Football is a funny old game, spurs beating city away!
24 Nov 2024 03:11:33

Well it couldn’t have happened to a more deserving complete and utter bigheaded dickhead.
