“The pitch was a bit dry there to be honest so that didn’t help.”

3 shots on target.

36 back passes to our keeper who had ridiculous number of touches and wasted time.

Zero bottle or ambition.

Shear lack of attacking quality despite spending a lot of cash.

Please stop Eze dropping into back 4 to pick up the ball.

Please play to our strengths by playing more attacking football.

Please stop playing 4 CBs (only 3 today) and get some proper fullbacks and please get the LW and Striker you were meant to. Let’s sell a few of the attackers and get some clever fast players who are more direct.

Josh has a big decision to make because we need to invest far better and much more.

We’ve spent a lot and not recovered when sold. We are paying a lot on wages yet the players are lazy - lazy by playing lazy sideways slow passes…

We don’t have a winning mentality and Artetas win % when it counts is not good enough. He’s done this for years and been protected by many. Too many have backed every decision and won’t let him be challenged. Winning want to be challenged and questioned - there’s no cosy comfy winners sofa. You win then look to see how you can improve again. It’s relentless and it certainly doesn’t have a dog called win or surround themselves by yes men or easy to manage players.

Let’s get serious please.

We have been waiting 6 years for Arteta to deliver, sheds loads of cash but all we got to show for it is FA Cup in his first season which was his buffer from getting the sack, early on his reign.
Did it paper over the cracks like Wengers 3 late FA Cup Wins, I don't really know. 4 seasons 8 pts clear 9 games to go, scoring goals for fun, threw away a 2 goal lead at Liverpool and we went into free fall.
3 seasons ago to costly home loses to Hammers and the Villa proved costly. Villa game is when Arteta changed his tactics and we lost.

Last season 18 pts dropped from winning positions which is appalling if you are thinking of winning the prem. This season sheds spent in the summer and we are playing some of the most negative football I have ever seen. Bournemouth are a good side but you have to beat the good sides as well as the poor ones to win the prem.
So what saves Arteta?
Winning the prem
Winning the CL
Winning both.
Coming close in both doesn't save him.
Get rid and get Cesc in from Como.

Do you honestly think Cesc would be the answer?
If the trigger is pulled on Arteta, we should be looking at Enrique.

11 Apr 2026 19:41:30
Would he leave PSG though, Glenn.

11 Apr 2026 20:45:13
Cesc isn't the answer. We need a true winner and someone ruthless. Is Cesc that man?

11 Apr 2026 23:38:04
I think most managers, including him, would jump at the chance of taking us, to be honest. Arteta is currently the third highest paid manager in world football, so I'm sure we could afford most as well.

11 Apr 2026 16:48:05
League is finished, we really are in freefall and have zero confidence and no clue how to put it right, in total contrast confidence is sky high for City, they have a trophy in the cabinet, virtually a gimme in the FA Cup and now 2 games in hand over us. A miracle is need for us to win the league.

Blame Arteta. Some of his selections have been bizarre; he has totally over played players and hence playing them into exhaustion.

Eze doesn't look the player he was, Kai has to go, Vic was never the solution.

For Raya has been brilliant.

Saka - poor.
Odegaard - v poor.
Rice has had less influence as the season has gone on.

Back four less solid since Xmas.

Jesus - has to go.

Max needs to be careful. It could have a detrimental effect on him.

As I said in the week, don't be surprised if City win the treble, that is looking highly likely now.

If City beat Chelsea, Burnley and us which I now expect them to, when we play our next Premiership home game against Newcastle will be level on points.

Bill, mate, I will say the PL is out of our hands if we don’t beat City, which is very unlikely, and we would be very lucky to get that result. A draw is also not good.
We have been lucky to get some of the 1-0 wins, as we aren’t able to create or score goals. Not only that, we can’t keep the ball and thread a 3-4 pass sequence, and with this dent in the confidence, I don’t think we will be any different, if not worse.

Same in the CL, without scoring goals, we don’t have a chance. I can’t imagine our situation at the end of May, where we won’t have won a trophy. How will we build on for the next season.

11 Apr 2026 16:17:12
Everything you say there, Highbury, about our performances in the prem is absolutely spot on, mate.

11 Apr 2026 16:58:27
You're fully in squeaky bum time now. I'd argue next week is huge not just for this season, but for Arsenal moving forward. Lose that, and not only will all momentum be with City, trust me, at that point there is no going back. But you will have a bigger bottler tag than Spurs, and for any future squads it will be a huge thing to overcome.

This week, I'd expect the press will encourage Arsenal to be brave and say they need to go for the throat. But that will play right into their hands, and in a back and forth game, you will lose.

It really is a must not lose game for Arsenal. A draw sets you up and leaves it firmly in your hands and yours alone. If you do lose, I don't see anything other than a City title win.

Try and enjoy the build up, and we will see how it shakes out next week.

And Highbury, if you do get to the summer trophyless, Arteta has to go. I can't see one argument to keep him if that is the outcome. I'd even argue if it was the FA Cup only he should still go.

11 Apr 2026 17:53:22
Definitely red, mate, I have been an Arteta supporter and one reason for the support was that I do think managers need 3-4/5 years to really assert their stamp on the team. If we don’t win anything, he will have to go. I would resign if I were him. If we win any of the two trophies, I will give him until Christmas to improve performances, else make a change.

Bill, mate, don’t think Fabregas will be any different to Arteta, he will also be cautious to prove himself. We need an established manager who can win trophies, along with putting fear in the opposition. Klopp won’t come to us, but we should go for Enrique if Arteta goes.

I’m an honest fan. That just was not good enough at all. No cut, no thrust, no invention, no cohesion. Bournemouth were way better than us and deserved the victory… We have opened up the door for Man City now. They will beat Chelsea tomorrow and then they will be bang up for facing us at their place next week and the way we are playing at the moment.

I can’t see us beating them next Sunday… (sorry to say that guys) . Hope and pray we find a way to get this title over the line. But we seem like a marathon runner who has hit his brick wall with 3 miles to go… We really have hit our worst patch of form at definitely the worst time. ?⚪️❤️.

Hello Gabi, mate, what I cannot get my head around is we are a different animal in the CL.
We are confident and look like we are completely mentally, physically and tactically on the money, and then the Prem games come along. ? ? ?
Take care, Gabi, my friend.

11 Apr 2026 16:11:02
We are way too nervous to play out from the back at the moment. Take our chances and get the ball up the pitch. That will give us a 50/50. We really have to find a way to negate the teams that press every ball.

Well done to Bournemouth. I wouldn't be surprised if City trip up against their style of play.

well I wish lol.

It says something that Raya had the most passes of all the Arsenal players. I want my keeper to have the ball at his feet as little as possible.

Can we hold our collective nerves, both players, manager, and fans? Up in the air, I reckon.

11 Apr 2026 14:39:18
Today is the day it all goes pear shaped!
I see a big loss to City coming next week and don’t want to think about the CL.
If you don’t score goals you don’t get points and don’t win anything!

Really poor set up from Arteta (again) . Playing a high pressing team, he should have looked at creativity through the lines from the start. That means starting Kai in midfield was just a terrible decision. Eze should have started, but by the time he came on, Bournemouth were completely on top.

11 Apr 2026 15:20:10
Raya had the most touches today after Dekkers. Says it all.

11 Apr 2026 15:45:33
Starting Kai at all is a terrible decision, same as Madueke. Both Chelsea, both no end product.

11 Apr 2026 14:36:13
Embarrassing is the only word I can say. Any visiting team who defends well and we are bolloxed. No plan b no nothing. Their was no desire, leadership absolutely f*** all.
City will smell blood and we are the prey. No lessons have been learnt.
So miffed.
Different team different desire in the CL. Why.

Plan A - Corners
Plan B - Throw ins
Plan C - Waste time & play 4 centre backs.

The ugly side of Raya!

We Are Going To Be Champions This Season and Many More. We Are Going To Be Champions This Season and Many More. We Are Going To Be Champions This Season and Many More.

Nothing is a given until we have not crossed the line; the players, the fans, the backroom staff, and the ball boys must understand that.

Today is another massive game, hope the boys and the fans turn up. Nothing but three points.

Let's hope so!! Big, big game today.

Statement to the EPL & pressure on City - that's the job today.

COYG!!

Was watching the Porto vs Forest Europa highlights for the own goal, but couldn’t help notice the football Porto played and the chances they created. They were fast, one touch and opened up Forest so many times, but then couldn’t find the end product.

Hope to see something similar (bar the end product bit) from the beloved Arsenal for the rest of the season. Somehow, we still are the best team in Europe so far. ?
