Just been reading some of your posts and I can honestly say I feel your pain. From the days of Hodgson saying we weren't too big for a relegation battle to where we are now is like chalk and cheese. But you get through it and the highs are even better because you see what it can be like at the lowest point.

You have some very good young players but appear to have problems from the top down. Get the top of the club right and it'll filter down to results on the pitch.

As for your manager, well, he's learnt off pep so he must be good! In all seriousness until the club sorts put the key decision makers you could have any manager in and they'd find it tough.

Hopefully your fortunes turn soon as the league would be better with a stronger arsenal team.

WYred, Top post mate. It is when the other fans start pitying you is when you realise you are in some deep deep shiz. There are so many things wrong with the club. We can only start from the very top.

2.) 30 Aug 2021 10:25:43
Appreciated WY, unfortunately it’s the very top that’s the problem until they go this going to be a long long struggle ending with the ultimate pain …………. relegation.

3.) 30 Aug 2021 11:35:41
There is no Chance this club gets relegated. Get a grip for gods sake. Lost to Brentford, chelsea and man city. Fact is, no manager could make this team play any better. Apart from the young players no one else gives a sh*t. Until the older players like Aubameyang, Xhaka, Mari, leno for example leave, the fortune of this club won't change. That would fix one part of the problem, the board is a whole different thing. There won't be success at Arsenal until they sell up and someone else steps in. We are horrible to watch, terrible all over the pitch. I blame Wenger for spoiling us with that beautiful style of play.

4.) 30 Aug 2021 12:02:28
We could get relegated mate never say never.

5.) 30 Aug 2021 12:26:08
McCain, why do the players at Arsenal not give a shoot but the players at Chelsea City United Leicester West Ham and plenty of others do mate?

Knuckle down and accept the players at Arsenal are and have been poorly motivated and managed and didn't suddenly decide to simply not feel good about thier job.

I'm beginning to wonder if you own a private jet and have an apparent in Monaco McCain 😎😀😁😂😆😯.

6.) 30 Aug 2021 13:01:11
G62 Its the players who perform. They're the ones who don't put a shift in. Remember Emery? The players got him the sack. We were all crying for him to go and we got our wish.

Didn't help anything though did it? Its the same players. And the ones Arteta has brought in, we are all praising when they play. i'm not saying Arteta is the answer, my point is, these players have shown they can play terribly and the fault falls on the manager.

How many more times are we going to keep blaming the manager before we all start aiming it at the players?

{Ed014's Note - no one gets out of this mess without blame McCain, Arteta has snags with a variety of players and he’s done nothing to resolve any of those issues.

The players themselves have also been shocking, who outside Tierney, Saka, ESR, Martinelli and maybe Holding looks like they give a toss?

7.) 30 Aug 2021 13:14:43
That's my point Ed. These players have shown they can just down tools as the blame falls at the feet of the guy who picks the team.

We get rid of Arteta, these same players will resort to type again as soon as the next manager makes a decision they aren't fond of.

{Ed014's Note - I get that McCain but as a player you have to have a belief in a managers style of play and training and I’m sure you’d agree on both counts, what style of play did Emery have and what’s Arteta’s.

It was interesting listening to Alan Smith talking about Arteta’s training methods this morning and also what Ed02 has alluded to about both that and Arteta’s coaches.

Can you imagine players downing tools for Pep or Jurgen, you never see Burnley players downing tools.

As manager he should be capable of getting a tune out of the players available and not alienating the likes of Saliba, Guendouzi and Torriera

8.) 30 Aug 2021 13:16:31
You really think that McCain? Rather arrogant I’d say, why do you think we are too good? One think is for sure the gap between us snd the elite has grown and the gap between us and the bottom 7 is closing

Don’t be too cock sure, history of the club means nothing.

9.) 30 Aug 2021 13:37:35
100% Ed. Like i said, i'm not saying Arteta is the right man but at the minute he is out only man. No one out there that can do much better that would want to join.

Conte would never happen as our board wouldn't go for someone like that. I would much rather let Arteta get rid of the players he doesn't want and bring in his own. 2 years in a job is nothing. I might be the minority but i want to give him this season.

Ox mate, you genuinely can't believe this squad would get relegated? Thing are bad at the minute but no way can you honestly believe this squad goes in to the championship? I would bet my house on Arsenal staying up.

{Ed014's Note - I’m can’t argue with how unattractive we are due to our pathetic set up above Arteta but I’m certain someone like Graham Potter or Sean Dyche who’d take the job in a heart beat would do better than Arteta.

You see coaches changing teams for the better in short order all the time and I’ll cite Tuchel as an immediate example but Arteta has been here for way longer and tell me in all honesty what has changed, because I’m saying nothing if we’re not actually worse!

As for relegation I would definitely not bet my house on it.

10.) 30 Aug 2021 13:58:59
I totally agree Banbury mate, pride comes before a fall and those who are arrogant enough to think they are beyond some stations simply by virtue of who they are tend to find themselves havubg the rudest of awakenings

If anyone had predicted before the Brentford game that we'd be bottom of the league not having scored a single goal and conceded 9 after our first 3 games they'd have been accused of being over dramatically negative and laughed off this page, yet here we are!

11.) 30 Aug 2021 16:45:55
Honestly, I still don't think we will get relegated, but it's just the thought or fear of it that is real.

I wasn't expecting us to conceded 9 in 3 games without scoring. Maybe conceding 4 and scoring 2 as we won't score a lot and can't see it changing. So i'm expecting the defence and midfield to get better.

As for EPL managers names being mention that could make us better, what happen to Chris Wilder and Ralph Hasenhüttl whose names were being branded out a season back why aren't they still being managed here? No one mentioned Martinez I thought he was good enough before he went to Belgium. Although not available before the World Cup.

Am I really the only one on here who think ESR is not good enough. He should have been sold to Aston Villa and manage the fallout thereafter. Extending his contract to me is appease the fans and a youth player maybe to sweeten others coming through. How many times have we been bitten in past with these loyalty contract? I though we had screamed at these in the Wenger era.

Glad we have you out the way, you’ve proven you can beat us and happy with three points in the bag.

As for the line ups, don’t get why your best defender didn’t start although Luiz wasn’t uncharacteristically not making errors and looked your best defender on the night.

And the game thought you showed us plenty of respect, probably a bit too much and you looked lively when you actually had a go. The only problem was when you went forward you lost all shape and we opened you up.

I think you boys are still in with a shout for top four as Auba will always grab goals. Laca should of scored his chance and makes me wonder what Auba is like through the middle instead? But you have clearly made strides from the emery days.

1.) 28 Sep 2020 22:48:08
Cheers Wyred mate, your normally home and dry against us after 20 minutes at Anfield so tonight must have been a real nail biter for you boys :-) . We're a work in process who still have a way to go, but we are better than we were.

2.) 28 Sep 2020 22:53:24
Luiz made an error that led to the Sane goal.

3.) 29 Sep 2020 08:02:50
Sane doesn't play for Liverpool mate. Luiz had a good game and so did Elneny. Luiz deserves to stay in the team with Gabriel coming in for Tierney. Tierney needs to go back to LB/ LWB and ASAP.

15 Jul 2020 22:38:00
Congrats on the win tonight, we put it on a plate for you. But you still had to see it out.

Interested to see your guys thoughts on the game?

Personally I thought we played well without the clinical finish and ten minutes in the first half where we seemed to go into Luiz and mustafi mode 😉. As for the gunners I thought you offered little but once you took the lead you didn't really need to.

But on another day Bobbies block goes in and the few times its bounced around the box and lands at our feet rather than a defender or keeper.

Best of luck for the rest of the season and no doubt we will get a bit of abuse from the media about not getting 100 points but truth is the only thing that matters is lifting that holy grail next week and I cannot wait!

WYred

{Ed047's Note - congrats on the title mate, you absolutely smashed it!

1.) 15 Jul 2020 22:50:00
Maybe tell some on our page that ed047, if you went on you’d think we are about to get relegated 😂.

{Ed047's Note - I know mate I was following the live chat it was crazy, I was thinking the same thing! 🤦‍♂️

2.) 15 Jul 2020 23:01:21
Liverpool 24 shots v Arsenal 3 shots. Liverpool 69% possession v Arsenal 39% possession, result Arsenal 2 goals v Liverpool 1 goal.
How is that possible? Who knows? who cares? The huge question is can it happen twice in one week against the best 2 sides in the county? Can lightning really strike twice in the same place in the same week? Let's hope so :-)

3.) 15 Jul 2020 23:20:01
Apologies if I spoke out of turn on there ed047. I get people want to see the team win but you can't win them all and acting like the world is ending just baffled me.

And 62, fingers crossed for you after this season think you deserve a final for your heartache. Plus be nice to see someone other then city in it!

{Ed047's Note - not at all WYred, I wanted to say something myself it was so unbelievable!

Some people are just never happy. 🤷‍♂️

4.) 16 Jul 2020 08:41:05
Cheers Wyred mate hope you are well.
I think it's crazy Liverpool fans getting upset by last night's result, 30 years of hurt ended in fantastic fashion is so soon forgotten all because of a couple of silly mistakes in what was for you guys pretty much a beach game? Whatever is wrong with some people! They really need to rethink life and chill out more. It's mission impossible done and dusted for Liverpool this season and if ever a side had the right to wear flip flops it was you boys since you became champions.

5.) 17 Jul 2020 14:21:33
All good gunner, and I head a belated congratulations is in order! Chuffed for you mate.
As for some of our fans I don't know what else they want, this is the first time I have witnessed them winning it and am willing to let them off with a few iffy results. All I want to see is hendo lift it above is head and enjoy it whilst we are able to call ourselves champions!

24 Aug 2019 21:12:34
I think you boys played much better then your last few performances. The last couple have been woeful and in some acted like you were beaten before kick off.
Your attack is going to be amazing this season, think you just need to play all three and expect fireworks. It’ll impact your defence but with luiz, you are playing with one down already. He is in Lovrens league for me, capable of great things but forgets he’s a footballer from time to time.

You are in a scrap with Chelsea, United and Everton/ Leicester/ Wolves if one of them can really get their act together for fourth. I think you sneak it because of your attack. I really think they’ll run ours for their money this year.

1.) 24 Aug 2019 21:25:20
Pressed send too soon, was also going to wish you well for the season, except in the reverse fixture. And enjoy the ride, your definitely on the up!

2.) 24 Aug 2019 21:56:48
You too WY mate hope you manage to pip City this time round, be tough but you've every reason to be excited.

3.) 24 Aug 2019 22:23:25
Fingers crossed but just think they are a different level to everyone at the minute. Hopefully they prove their human tomorrow.

4.) 24 Aug 2019 23:58:25
I think Chelsea will be more than glad you signed the Brazilian he has always been woeful.

However in the attacking group you have I actually disagree with WY. I think they are strong enough to take 3rd spot this year by a margin.

The other candidates are not great. Manutd proved that today and when you have big egos in a team it never bears well for the gel, Spuds honeymoon period is over - worse than that I think their fans will wake wake up and realise they never actually got married anyway (won naff all! ) , Chelsea are inhibited by a Manager learning and a transfer ban and I think that’s it as far as Top 4 candidates go.

It pains me to say but I think Manutd might get the 4th spot but in any case I back your lot for 3rd.

5.) 25 Aug 2019 06:32:13
Long way to go and we have to show yesterday's effort and work rate v Wolves Leicester Norwich etc if we are to get 3rd and whether that happens or not will be the real test of whether we've improved.
Emery got slaughtered on match of the day for playing a diamond which of course did bring problems but at least he did try something different in a game where we were always big underdogs.
Any top 6 manager who can't get his team up for a head to head battle with other top clubs is lacking something but as Pep and Klopp showed last season with the huge pints totals both Liverpool and City achieved it's how you approach and the respect you show the other 14 teams that really prove your worth over a season.

6.) 25 Aug 2019 08:03:21
Actually enjoyed the game even though we lost, can see some exciting things starting to happen! Haven’t seen anyone give Virgil such a hard time as Pepe did and it was only his first full game.

I thought sky were a bit harsh with their player ratings though, and we have to remember you scousers haven’t lost in the league at home for something like 41 games

Bring on the spuds!

{Ed047's Note - I think but for setting us up so badly so that the two most creative fullbacks in the league had free reign to do as they pleased we may have done so much better.

7.) 25 Aug 2019 10:07:53
Should not have dropped Lacca or played guendouzi spelling sorry or xhaka in same side Torreira willock ceballos would be my 3.

8.) 25 Aug 2019 10:53:35
I thought Guendouzi was our best player first half but should have had Torreira next to him.

9.) 25 Aug 2019 14:09:15
I thought Guendouzi and Wilock both played well and though Luis did cost us he also had some very good moments first half too.
Pepe pace was incredibly and did cause vaninvincilbe to look only human at times.
We didn't lose in the same old Arsenal way yesterday we lost trying something different which didn't work but at least it wasn't rinse and repeat.

29 Dec 2018 09:32:32
Liverpool fan in peace.

So it’s game day and a massive game for both sides. Emery has you moving in the right direction without a doubt, you remind me of us a few years ago, devastating in attack, shaky in defence and horribly inconsistent.

I’ve seen a few of you worried about today, which just shows how far we have come, but we cannot take you for granted or you will punish us. We definitely don’t think today will be a walk over by any means but hopefully we can keep our winning streak going and take real momentum into the city game.

I wish you well for the rest of the season, just not today! Always had real respect for arsenal as to remain competitive for those top positions year in year out is impressive. And it goes without saying the invincibles were just a freak of nature.

Think you will get top four which will be your first step then think you will be challenging for the title within a season or two.

Hope you lads enjoy the rest of your Christmas break and have a good new year.

WYred

1.) 29 Dec 2018 10:02:36
Good luck in the league after today! I hope you don’t go unbeaten but win the league! Think you would take that. You boys are playing nice football which I respect a lot.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 10:36:05
Hi Red I see us very much in the same position as you were 3 years ago when Klopp first joined you, we have some fantastic attributes but equally some horrendous weaknesses and it's those weaknesses that many fans want to see improved on before they get excited.
Also like you 3 years back we don't have the money to buy instant solutions so we need to work hard and buy well and hopefully 2 years from now we will have a much better basis to add the finishing touches to with just 1 or 2 really good top class signings.
The first step was always going to be to find our own version of Jurgen Klopp and I think we've done that but where you did it just in time we have left it a bit late but obviously it's never too late in football.
The competition and standard at the top is much much tougher now than it was 3 years ago when City Liverpool United Chelsea and Spurs all had new managers trying to rebuild each club, obviously Liverpool City and Spurs got it spot on with their choice of management which is why your all where you are now United are still looking for a manager that can bring sustainable progression and us and Chelsea are hoping we've found ours already.
It's always tough at the top but I can't remember it ever being this tough before as City and Spurs points total is outstanding at the half way mark but this season it's just not quite good enough.

I'm not sure robbo would be in a lot of trouble in a court of law, he appeared to touch him to get his attention.

In this scenario neither party is correct, robbo shouldn't of touched him (he got a yellow) but I don't think the linesman should go unpunished. As a side note, I think from the PGMOL point of view they have to do something, referrees and VAR are massively under the spotlight and no punishment would just get spun as them looking after themselves.

There may be no intent but he has reacted which he shouldn't do, now whether that is a game or two out of contention so be it. Both players and officials want more respect and that goes both ways.

In my opinion if that was a player who threw their elbow, they'd be sent off. Some would argue its soft but a line needs to be drawn somewhere otherwise it can get grey very quickly.

To clarify I am not on the bandwagon of he should be sacked or banned for the rest of the season (ridiculous arguments) that's just sensationalist opinions to get a reaction.

I think you have to treat him like a player, if a player gets touched and throws that elbow they get a red card. Give him a two/ three game ban and move on.

You can’t say if he doesn’t get touched it doesn’t happen so that needs to be taken into account. whilst the first part is true it doesn’t excuse the behaviour. That would be like someone getting a bad tackle and then lashing out and not expecting to be sent off as they were just standing up for themselves.

Started watching the game just as Jesus scored but you looked well on top until Xhaka decided to ignite the crowd. That paired with scoring so soon after changed the game.

After that, we were well on top but Ramsdale saved you a point in the end but a great game for the neutrals.

You are still well in the hunt but City are very experienced at this stage of a season and with a trip to the etihad to come I think they will just squeak it. Whatever happens though it has been one hell of a season for you boys and hopefully we are fighting it out next season.

Vodka, how about a Jota/ Saka swap? Think that is a fair deal! In fact, I'll even throw Ox in too.

If you did come in for him with silly money for Jota I think we might take it, the lad is a poacher but his build up play is still a huge question mark over him.
