It absolutely broke my heart seeing our Martinelli playing for Al Hilal last night. It just doesn't feel right.

If I feel that emotional about him leaving I hope it doesn't impact the rest of the squad ahead of the big game tomorrow.

We've lost better players, but normally replace them with quality, eg Anelka.. I will be more sad seeing Rogers playing for Chelsea, when his team begged Arsenal to sign him & we did nothing. Sounds like Wrighty wished we'd signed him too.

I wish Martinelli well in his new role.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you needed Rodgers SY, hes a highlight player who only shines for 20% of the game ( a bit like Martinelli ), its a forward you needed mate..

I don't believe this nonsense about Rogers. We have Odegaard and Eze for the 10 role, so why would we have wanted Rogers? That reported want made no sense.

Previously, having watched Eze for Palace and Rogers for Villa, it would be Eze all day long.

It was sad to see Martineli leave, but he didn't fulfil his potential or develop into the player we all thought he would. We got decent money for him. I feel sorry for him, as he is better than playing in Saudi and still could have done well in Europe.
Not bothered by Rogers, as he was a 'nice to have' addition.

Martinelli will be fine, Sally. He'll be back in Europe in no time.
All he needs to do is motivate himself to work towards his Pretty Woman moment when he gets to say "Remember me? Big mistake, HUGE."

Hi Ed025, you are right. It's ridiculous that we go into the season having sold 2 LWs and think going in with a back up LW is a good idea. Arteta talks about adding world class additions & our ambition. Goes after world class attackers & signs absolute sod all yet if you criticise you get slated. It's a mess up and most people see that going in with the attack we have.

Eze was useless last season & Ode has lost both his mojo & compass. Probably enough to challenge for league but unless we get another easy champ league run in - we will come up short unfortunately as we don't have the fire power or special player. Most see it but not everyone. I think Arteta will be furious as that's a xxxx show on LW.

{Ed025's Note - i thought you played great today SY but you still need a left winger and a striker mate, i dont know what the question is...but Tsolis is not the answer thats for sure, i think you dodged a bullet with Rodgers though..
