really odd setup today by Arteta clear does not trust Tierney no more and can see him leaving now. Totally out of balance no flow to our play atall, slow and predicatable did not really test their keeper hardly atall. Gone out with a whimper and faded when pressure of expectation was on these last few weeks. A good season overall but need to learn the lesson of why we faded so badly.

Disappointing day for us but I'm pleased for Forest and Steve Cooper, most clubs would have panicked and sacked him after a terrible start to the season. Nice to see patience with a manager paying off.

Not being negative, more stating the obvious really, the team has run out of steam and manager out of ideas.

It's been a wonderful season and we shouldn't lose track of the fact we've got our best points total for 15 years, but we are going to need to improve every bit as much again next season as we have this season on last season, just to stand still as the potential to finish lower than second next season is far far greater than the potential to finish higher

The team and manager need to get on the beach asap, switch off, recharge because if they thought this season was tough next season going to ask a little even more questions of them all.

Ultimately it was too much too soon for this young Arsenal team and manager. If the defeats had been more evenly spread across the season people would be delighted to have come from 5th to 2nd and be be back in the CL after 8 year absence, but if that had happened we'd have never had the incredible ride we've had or the dream of what might of being champions at all.

Personally i have enjoyed this this season like no other in 19 years but it's down to each individual fan to choose for themselves if It's " better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all "

Squad, energy, injuries, tired - manager could have bought and used players better. Tierney and Trossard. He really should have added better in winter and it was a poor window.

You hit the nail on the head on the loses but that’s bottle. We wouldn’t have shut up shop and played so negatively earlier in season. We acted differently in the run in.

We didn’t lose the title because of City - we threw it at them in the run in.

It’s gone now but if we wear rose tinted specs - we will never find our true love and keep him / her.

Up the gunners and great improvement but really disappointed in the what it could have been. ❤️?.

Should we beat ourselves up for not being capable of or mature enough to hold onto this wonderful time or should we simply accept what is, learn from our experience and allow ourselves to love again?

Beating ourselves up serves no useful purpose whatsoever but accepting and learning from what we got wrong is surely the only wise course of action available to us ?.

Hi 62, love the positivity and chat. Hope you are well and job still fulfilling. This feels like we were dating a great girl 12 months ago and broke up for a silly reason. 12 months later meet an even better girl and clearly the best we can ever hope for but we still break up because of me for exactly the same reason. Surely, I should have learned and changed or accept to aim lower or never find my dream girl….

Feels like the huge fish that got away but once again - with Paul Whitehorse still shouting at me to stop winding it in so fast and that's why it got away last time… it was fun fishing, exhilarating getting the bite but ultimately bloody frustrating dropping the biggest fish every time it’s about to be netted. What’s the point if you never get a result. You can argue it was a great day, relaxing, spent time with a friend. But if you don’t want to catch a fish then don’t fish, find another hobby that you can get the same feeling from. If you want to fish, then learn from your mistakes as it’s frustrating doing the same thing again and agsin expecting different results.

This team isn’t super young and inexperienced - plenty internationals etc. City are awesome but they were sleeping at the start and they probably won’t repeat that mistake again.

That’s why I’m disappointed which I think you get and I get that you enjoy the right and improvements. My question is do you just want to see improvement with no results or outcome. If you do want results - aren’t you at all annoyed / frustrated with throwing away an 8 point lead and lose by 10 plus points and to not even be in the race with City with games to go? Nothing wrong with saying we threw it away, we bottled it. Still a gooner and believer when I say it. Nothing wrong questioning Arteta as we all know someone should have questioned Wenger in the later years.

I have questions of Ode at THE highest level in big tight games but back him and hope he will develop that

We didn't just fall at the final hurdle, we f*cking collapsed! Have we improved elsewhere? Yes, I think we have. Our cohesion as a team, overall, is markedly higher. As are our ability to keep clean sheets, see off difficult games, and play exciting football.

Not much else to do but take the positives of this season into the next, and hope the club work on sorting the rest.

Hi SY mate, yes the job is going brilliantly thank you mate, I get a real buzz out of helping people turn a really low point in their lives around and achieve a happy ending, I was so lucky in getting this job ?, I hope all is good in your hood too mate.

I definitely understand the feeling of devastation about us having that huge fish on the line for so long and then letting it's escape, for me personally I always knew our fishing tackle was possibly going to struggle to see us land the ultimate catch, I certainly hoped and thought it might possibly happen for a long time but I always knew and accepted in the back of my mind that it might ultimately prove to much to soon for a group of wiling rookie anglers to land and the more experienced and better equipped anglers next to us might capitalise if we became tired and ran out of energy.

But ultimately it is what it is and we are left a little wiser and little more experienced that we were last August, as you say mate love the Arsenal and of course love you too geezer ❤❤❤❤.

Hi Banbury mate I didn't know about the level headed bit mate but I do wish I'd discovered the freedom and peace that acceptance and letting things go quickly brings and the misery and unhappiness non acceptance of what is brings 10 years ago mate.

I'd have never allowed myself to be negatively affected by Arsenes final years as I did back then, hindsight is a wonderful but pretty useless tool but looking back now I didn't half put myself through an awful lot of self inflected misery long long after the final whistle had gone and carried it through all the through to the next game and the next season, as Del boy would say " what a plonker " ?

I'm still care as much and want us to be all we can possibly be as much but I'm a lot lot less affected by disappoints now than I have been previously and let them go much much quicker now days, it took 60 years to get there, so there's still plenty of time for everyone else ????.

Really like this thread! Where else do you get quotes from the best tv show bar none - Gone Fishing - Don`t Wind! Ted is a superstar. It`s about expectation for me. Last season end I felt top four possibly a cup was a good season. For next season my expectations have been increased tons! Especially as I fully expect top quality arrivals. It may be MA`s achilles - not completing the job - but we now won`t know for sure until next May. He has earned the right to at least one more season I feel. City this season used roughly 18 players for all their games - lots more games than us - so don`t accept the tiredness excuse - I just don`t think we are as good as City. This window is vital and really hoping we still have the Mudryk and Caicedo January money still available plus money from sales etc. We need the best 18 we can afford. Bob how are you with gravity these days! It`s a clonker COYG.
