Tomiyasu? A right back is going to fix our squad? I am so confused about our transfer dealings this year.

Why are we signing utility players to play a key role of right back? Sounds like Takehiro Tomiyasu can play CD, right side in a back 3 or right back. Surely we don’t need another CD but rather a top quality right back…. What’s the deal here? Am I greedy asking for a proper right back as Cedric isn’t good enough so we need a starting 11 right back not another squad player or back up….

I hope this geezer is good. No disrespect but even YouTube couldn't make him look brilliant. Not sold but happy we are bringing in someone who can play at RB and CB. let's all get behind him 😎.

SY, in my opinion its a bonus that he can play in various positions, there has been many players in history that have been world class in 2/ 3 defensive positions (Lahm, Alaba, Ramos, Maldini) I understand that the chances of him reaching those heights are VERY slim. But it definitely doesn't mean he's going to be poor in a few positions rather than good in one.

He's been on the radar all year according to Ornstein, so happily he's not a panic buy. So let's hope he hits the ground running.

I don't see how we don't need another cb. Aside from gabriel and maybe white the others are very average.
