Good Evening Mr Ed,

Arsenal have supposedly been interested in Tielemans for a while but still no approach with a bid has been made.
Do you expect Arsenal to try and sign him or are there other preferred targets now?

Thank you.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - I think he would be the favoured option.}

1.) 06 Jul 2022 19:46:36
Thank you Ed ??.

2.) 07 Jul 2022 07:31:38
It is intriguing that Youri is favoured as the other names mentioned are more of DMs &/ or destroyers rather than creative CMs like Youri. I would want to know Ed002 If we are looking at 2 separate additions or do you think Youri maybe is the most realistic one and will be the only midfield addition? Perhaps a younger option? Perhaps dependent on sales?

Would love to see a list of CMs we are interested in or have shown interest in.

As always, thanks mate for your work - it is greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Youri Tielemans (CM) right now he will not sign a new contract so will be available in the summer at a reduced fee. His agent confirmed that there is interest from Real Madrid who are looking for a Luka Modric replacement, interest from Spurs and that he has been approached by a third party representing Newcastle. He is aware that other clubs, including Bayern Munich and Liverpool, have scouted the player but not declared an interest. Interest of the Manchester sides has probably gone as both are looking at other midfield options but they will be back if they cannot get their first choice players - and MU are struggling to do that. Arsenal maintain an interest. I suspect that Real Madrid will shift their interest leaving Spurs, Manchester United and Arsenal to work on a transfer.}

Hello Ed,

Is Fabio Vieira a target for Arsenal?

I remember asking about the player last June and you mentioned that the player would be interested.

Many thanks in advance for your response.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - Fabio Vieira (AM) Porto want to keep the youngster and have no intention of selling. Previously Arsenal, Bournemouth and RBL have had approaches turned away but Arsenal could look again. Has also been watched by Spurs, Leicester, Wolves and Liverpool.}

1.) 16 Jun 2022 16:15:41
Thanks Ed. I have just noticed that we have now agreed a deal and are finalising the structure of the deal ? Good bit of business that hasn't had months of speculation.

2.) 16 Jun 2022 17:11:45
The best part of the deal was how it got done without speculation.

3.) 16 Jun 2022 18:44:48
Small, skinny, attacking midfielder. Not exactly what we need.

{Ed014's Note - it was either him or a fat over rated one from Leicester!

Same build as David and Bernardo Silva and they’re not to shabby. ?

4.) 16 Jun 2022 18:50:38
Haha true. Hopefully means we won't get Tielemans now- how can you be that fat when you're a professional sportsman.

5.) 16 Jun 2022 18:55:24
Also great to see a Viera back at Arsenal ?.

6.) 16 Jun 2022 18:56:30
You just can't please some Arsenal fans ?

Sublime bit of business ??.

7.) 16 Jun 2022 19:50:42
Can imagine the Viera song back at our ground.

8.) 16 Jun 2022 19:58:09
I like what I with him free kick, penalty, passing, can play left, right and central midfield and young. Looks like competition to Odegraad.

Hey Ed014 I totally wrote Tielemans after their home game against spuds he was awful that day. Looked lazy didn’t want to run and kept giving the ball away.

{Ed014's Note - I’ve never seen him play Yard but lots of good things said about.

Tielemens is a defo no from me, lazy and over rated, 100% not what we need.

9.) 16 Jun 2022 20:45:24
He’s more of a RW and a number 10.

10.) 16 Jun 2022 22:01:35
Is this veira signed then or is it still a few more things to do.

{Ed002's Note - Nearly.}

11.) 17 Jun 2022 12:32:10
OK thanks ed.

15 Jun 2022 21:49:43
Good Evening Ed,

Is Martín Satriano a player we are looking at? Seeing some reports this evening linking us with him.

Thank you ??.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware - there have been discussions about him with another side.}

1.) 16 Jun 2022 07:13:06
Cheers Ed. Have a good day ??.

14 Jun 2022 13:16:27
Good Afternoon Ed,

Is Dominik Szoboszlai back on the list of Arsenal targets this summer?

Thank you.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - No, he moved last summer.}

10 Jun 2022 19:54:51
Hello Ed,

Is Giovanni Simeone a player Arsenal are keen on or is this just another rumour to add to the opening day of the transfer window?

Thanks for your input ??.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - Giovanni Simeone (F) Cagliari need to sell to cover themselves financially and will listen to offers. They had hoped that Atletico would come in with a good offer but that hasn't happened. West Ham have a long-term interest and spoke again with his representative but he would need to be matched with a Centre Forward due to his size. Juventus may take him as cover. Sevilla have had an offer rejected but could return.}

With Lucas Torreira reportedly leaving for 7m euros (£5.8m) , Arsenal will have moved on all 8 of the players brought in under Sven Mislintat.

They cost £129m and Arsenal are set to recoup around £26.5m with their departures (Excluding loan fees) , and stand to make profit on 2.

Glenn1308

1.) 01 Aug 2022 20:13:29
Who were the others?

2.) 01 Aug 2022 20:20:24
found them, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dinos Mavropanos, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Matteo Guendouzi, Torreira and Stephan Lichtsteiner.

3.) 02 Aug 2022 17:08:01
He got Saliba too I think ?.

11 May 2022 16:12:48
Having an interest in signing Gabriel Jesus shows the intent. Successfully signing the player on the other hand shows the progress.

It would be a fabulous signing if he's an Arsenal player come the start of the new season.

Watch this space ay!

Glenn1308

1.) 11 May 2022 21:31:13
I hope there's some legs in it and it's not just something journalists have picked up and blown out of all proportion, I think it would be a very good signing, I really like him, if there's any truth in the midfielders we're interested in too and we can get one that would be a great window, if we could also extend Elneny and Nketias contacts we should look really good for next season. If we could get promising back up left back and right backs I would be really excited, especially left back with Tierney's problems, I know that's expecting a lot, but I'm really hopeful!

27 Jan 2022 21:24:17
Stop panicking.

Look at the players who Arteta and Co have moved on, whether that be on loan or permanently and then look at who he's brought in.

It shows signs of progression and the signings he's brought in have been pretty good so far.

They've tried and albeit failed with targets this winter but the window isn't shut yet. Let's see what happens and see if anything gets done under the radar.

Glenn1308

1.) 28 Jan 2022 06:33:51
No one is panicking- we won’t - repeat won’t get a better chance than the one we have now to get into the top 4 . We still have dead wood, we really couldn’t hit a barn door with a bloody banjo . We rely on Saka far too much .

It’s fine shipping these players out but we need top quality in.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 07:55:35
Yeah we do and unfortunately money doesn't grow on trees. Arsenal aren't in the best financial situation as it is and we spent 150m in the summer. The club has their targets and of they don't get them they'll move on to others. I'm fully behind the rebuild and we are slowly but surely moving players on and bringing players in, most of them with good quality. I understand the urgency for top 4 and I hope we make a solid signing to push for that!

3.) 28 Jan 2022 07:56:54
No one is panicking

This window was the most important for years - reason …. we won’t get a better chance of a top 4 place, currently we won’t be getting 4th . We can’t hit a barn door with a banjo, we are toothless upfront . We are playing Saka to death and rely on him so much .

Finishing in the top 4 is of paramount importance if we are to attract top players . It’s no good shipping players out when you ain’t getting any in .

4.) 28 Jan 2022 09:00:43
Let's wait and see on everything, both the window and progression.

Finish 8th again and you will have an easier time convincing people Boris can be trusted to tell the truth than convincing them Arsenal have progressed.

The proof of the pudding is always in the eating, and in 3 days time we will get to know exactly what the January window pudding tasted like and in 4 months time the verdict will be in on the season, and no being economical with the truth will be enough to disguise the taste of either leave a nasty after taste.

5.) 28 Jan 2022 09:19:05
Then ship a player who we pay £350 k a week and we aren’t even playing him. Sell him at cut price if we have to

No wonder we aren’t in a good financial position.

Points in the Premier League in 2021:

Liverpool - 77
Arsenal - 76

Depsite this stat being the tail end of one season and the start of another, I still think it warrants being seen. It's a sign of progress nonetheless.

Big games coming up, let's see how we go. Happy New Year Gunners ??.

Glenn1308

1.) 31 Dec 2021 12:13:37
Yet Liverpool finished comfortable above us last season and are comfortable above us currently this season, how is that possible given these stats?

League position is an indisputable fact while stats are very subjective and very popular among all politicians world wide for some reason ?.

2.) 31 Dec 2021 13:29:30
Stats 89 always brings forward the good old Confirmation bias! I`ve given up on the C.V. stats driven by a biased media on both sides. We need as Sy has said to play a good 90 minutes - which we have at least done - now we need to play a good 38 games when it counts. Davy on my bias I draw some hope from the stats so thank you but I have started drinking early! Happy New Year to all Ed`s and posters as I think it`s going to get messy very early . Happy New Year! COYG Let`s give em a game tomorrow.

3.) 31 Dec 2021 13:31:31
*Glenn ( apologies Glenn ) hic.

4.) 31 Dec 2021 14:39:29
That old human conformation bias, it's impossible to get rid of Bucks mate, none of us can defeat it completely but just by knowing we do it we do stand half a chance of not being dominated by it

If I start drinking now I'd never make 8 o'clock let alone midnight ? have a brilliant evening and Happy new year both Bucks and Glen.

Did you know the last 21/ 22 season finished with Liverpool as champions and Manchester United rock bottom and relegated ???⚽.

22 Dec 2021 08:14:43
Oooooohhh Charlie Patinoooo! ?

Well happy for the kid scoring on his senior debut. The future is bright for our starboys ⭐

COYG!

Do you have any info on Yéremy Pino Ed002? Thank you ??.

Glenn1308

{Ed002's Note - Yeremy Pino (RW/LW/AM) His agent spoke with Manchester City and Chelsea last summer about the player but he agreed a new contract at Villareal with a significant €80M buy-out clause and a contract to 2027. Barcelona opted for Raphina. Wa orginally the first choice replacement for Pepe at Arsenal. Real Madrid have him on their lengthy list of potential replacesments for Eden Hazard.}

The attitude they are showing in pre-season combined with the looks on their faces in games and the managers comments, would suggest that they are happy to be here for this season at least. I would be very surprised if one let alone both were allowed to leave.

100% agree with Shambo. Just because you sit quietly with a smile that doesn't mean your attitude is up to scratch. He comes on and looks like he cba and causally jogs around as if we're 4 nil up. Even if that was the case he should still be busting a gut. There us no urgency with him and if he really tried he could be something at Arsenal, even now.

I imagine it is disheartening Sally but the player only has his attitude and performances to blame for that. Do I think he's being played to his strengths? No, far from it. However, he has to be the one to show the eagerness, willingness and confidence to learn and be the best he can be.
His talent is up there with the best of them but he needs to show he is capable of playing in arguably the best league in the world.

I don't need to tell you to keep fighting Saga mate because clearly you already are. I am so sorry to hear about what you're going through but from one Gooner to another I will make sure I continue to show the club the same loyalty as you have through your life so far. Wishing you all the very best mate ?⚪️.

Hey bud!

I am also a 28 year old Arsenal fan!

For me, I was lucky enough to be able to go to my first 5 games last season! Until then all of my friends have supported other teams and it's a 460 mile round trip for me so have had never gone on my own.

I signed up to get myself a RED membership which I have done this season as well. You get priority access to tickets approx 6 weeks before the fixture. However, tickets are usually in the upper stands which are still brilliant seats! Tickets for big games like the NLD though are very difficult to get!

Your best bet for the NLD is to try and find a season ticket holder that cannot make the game. You would would need to be a RED member as a minimum because you then have access to ticket exchange. If someone else can't attend they can upload their tickets to ticket exchange and it can be transferred to you but for the NLD I imagine there won't be many available.

There are plenty of places to go for food but we get off the underground at Arsenal and head to The Coronet for beers beforehand. It's a glorified Wetherspoons but it's where a large number of fans go before the game. Usually there is a big screen with old Arsenal games on which causes a good atmosphere!

I hope you manage to get to a game mate!

Agree with that Epping.

I also think he deserves a chance and maybe that run of games towards the end of the season gave the him the nudge he needed.

Do I think he will get the golden boot? No. Do I think he could get 15 goals as a number 2 to Jesus? Most certainly.

He seems to be working hard whilst on holiday and was doing sprints on the beach in Miami in his Arsenal gear ? maybe we will see the best of Eddie this season. I hope so!

Different players mate, stop comparing them. Did Bissouma get 6 goals and 15 assists? No. Did he have a 50m release clause that according to Romano, we negotiated down to 35m? No. Great bit of business and a solid buy ??.
