Fair writeup ed001. I am by no means a Liverpool fan but was incensed at the cards shown to Gravenberch. I was surprised at the lack of scrutiny in the media following the sending off too, even though the 114 is the bigger story at the moment.

It would be better for everyone if this was resolved quickly, cleanly, with titles stripped and with CFG forced to sell.

{Ed001's Note - it does need sorting quickly before we have another tainted title to consider, as it is clear they are being helped along this season once again.}

We shouldn't be very hopeful of a big retribution as the level of commercial and political involvement will destabilise the football ecosystem. Any punishment will certainly not be proportional to the charges.

If the punishment is lame, or perceived to be so, the game will be irrevocably changed. It comes to something when we discuss the political and economic pressures that are bearing down on the principle of fairness, as though it were a legitimate consideration. i'm not pointing fingers at anyone here BTW.
