Who do you think was a better player for Arsenal, Giroud or Lacazette? Both have a 0.4 goals per match return. For me, it was Giroud. Was it necessary to buy Lacazette when we had Giroud who was always ahead of Lacazette in the French national team?

Giroud was much more consistent regarding impact in games for me, both always give their all but Laca had long spells where nothing worked out for him or us where Oly had a big impact in 8/ 10 games whether he scored or not.

I think many of us forget just how much of a liability he was. He missed so many chances. I think it's more lacazette perhaps didn't live up to expectations. Giroud certainly needed replacing at the time

Perhaps we should've looked elsewhere.

Giroud certainly did miss a lot of chances D16 mate but he also did so much for the team with his all round game.

I always thought we should have played Olly in a front 2 rather asking him to both number 1 creater and taker of chances over 38 games each and every season.

Would have been fun to see Giroud with PEA in a front 2 - really liked Giroud but lacked pace which PEA would have made up for and benefitted from Giroud unselfish play.

I think Laca failed to live up to expectations while Giroud exceeded them.

I’d take Giroud all day.

I genuinely think we'd have won the league in 2014 if Olly had a partner to share the load with up top, come that February he was knackered due to giving so much to help us be top up to that point.

Agree 62 I always thought he'd be great in a 2 as his link up play was top notch.
