Afternoon,
Having read through a number of posts regarding last nights game I felt I had to stick my pennies worth in.
A couple of questions to begin with:

Were the selected starting 11 not good enough to beat Zagreb?
Would we have got something from the game had Giroud not been sent off?
Had we not rotated last night and then lost to Chelsea, would you all be blaming Wenger?

This site is often so negative following a defeat. Most of the negativity is aimed at Wenger, who by the way does not even kick a ball during the 90 minutes of the game. I am not here to defend Wenger, but would like to understand how last nights loss falls on his shoulders as some of your posts suggest. The 'Wenger Out' and other comments are not justified following last nights defeat. The 11 selected were good enough to beat Zagreb and probably most teams in the EPL. Giroud is a fool for getting himself sent off, not Wengers fault, The OX is a fool for not tracking his man, not wengers fault and Ozil, Giroud, walcott etc are all fools for not finishing the chances created, again not wengers fault.

Please help me understand? We lost, THE PLAYERS were not up for it and GIROUD got sent off and gave us a mountain to climb. END OF.

Support the club, Support the players, Support the Manager. I honestly cannot get my head round fans who wish us to lose to see a change in management... please

I thought that arsene would want to put out what he believed to be his strongest 11 get the three points and get off to a good start. Steve r yesterday called the team that was named on the sheet because he obviously knows what wengers like.

The team he put out should have been good enough but it wasn't and I levelled criticism at the selection of arteta not arteta himself. With him in the team forced the whole dynamic and shape to change we had cazorla coming deeper than usual and big holes between mid and attack thus getting over run. In addition to this any balls that were then sent up for giroud weren't sticking and that was the start of his problems leading to decent because he was frustrated and the ref was not allowing him to use his physicality (coupled with a poor tech)

People are rightly annoyed if you love a club it stands to reason that you would get more upset than the passive fan.

A lot of people believe that arsenal can't perform under pressure and we have just turned up the heat with results like last night results that shouldn't happen. It wasn't just the defeat we were well beaten and never looked like winning pre giroud red card.

Teams are far to wise to arsenals style and teams with limited resources are now finding an almost bomb proof remedy to our play. We always just pass it around with no penetration. Opposing teams are happy to let us do this as long as they keep their discipline . We need a CF who makes intelligent runs. And ozil will find the ball.

Ultimately, the manger, buys the players, does the training, prepares the team, picks the team, sorts the tactics and when he wins, gets the plaudits. If he doesn't he carries the can for the teams failings.

I'm sorry but how can Wenger not take blame for last night?
He could have bought Schneiderlin but didn't so we play Arteta to give Le Coq a rest, the shape of the team suffered because Arteta hasn't got the legs for it.
Where was Belerin, if not injured then I'm afraid that was another mistake as playing Giroud rather than Wallcott meant we had no frightening pace making us one dimensional, their manager alluded to this afterwards which cuts deep coming from a team we should have rolled over.
Why no Cech?
I like Ospina and I'm not saying the result would have been different I just question why you make 3 changes in defence in your first group game?
It reeks of arrogance and disrespect and we got exactly what that deserved

The team was rotated due to a busy schedule and two derby games approaching. Debuchy is an experienced international, as is Gibbs and Ospina did excellently when he replaced Schenzy last year. Those changes should not have meant a loss and in my opinion did not 'reek of arrogance', the players did not perform.
Should have bought Schneiderlin? how do you know that we didn't try? Perhaps he wanted to go to UTD? forgive me if i am wrong but he is not exactly cementing his sopt in the UTD team.

As i said, I'm not saying it would have changed the result having Cech played but, to make 3 unforced changes in defence then play an inferior cdm with no legs due to age and no game time is crazy.
As for if we went for Spyder or not, I'd lay a fair amount of money on the fact we didn't and more on him choosing to play for us over United, but that's just my opinion

You win the game first THEN rest who u want. I agree with a lot of the points that the players are to blame, but so is Wenger. Wenger/Arsenal embarrassed ourselves in the transfer market. Arteta should have never been given a new contract. A CF and.DM (that same broken record) were a must. Yesterday selection was wrong for me. Theo should be starting. He's scoring, we should be building his confidence. Giroud seems to be on a confidence suicide mission after those 2 bookings yesterday. Did we really need to "rest" Cech? he's not exactly up and down the flank. Coq and Monreal, atleast win the game and then withdraw players. Instead we finish with 10 exhausted players. Wenger definitely got some decisions wrong but no way was yesterday all his fault.
