It's the same old same old. It ain't worked for years not games! What sort of arrogance is it that says just 'cause it didn't work the last 70 odd games doesn't mean it won't today.

The players don't believe it anymore we ain't for ages but Wenger does. The next game. Will be exactly the same as this. He sadly is now clueless. I just want him to leave with a degree of honour, if nothing else he deserves that. But this season as we look it's 6-7 for us.

Hi guys not Arsenal related but today is Merchant Navy Day when we have a Remembrance Day up at our memorial at Tower Hill. Sadly I'm not well enough to go this year. But share a thought today for all those boys, you went to sad at 14-15 then, and men that fought on ships to keep us going during the wars. Thanks guys.

{Ed014's Note - will do saga and sorry to hear you’re not so well at the moment.

Take care mate. ?

Morning fellow gooners. Your original gooner grandad requires a bit of time. Way back in the 50's when George Swindon was our manager, the land was grey. Every male over the age of 5 was subject to the compulsory hat wearing law. I became a gooner, I've suffered those grey dark days when a man was judged by the style of his muffler. They were tough days with Billy Wright moving us backwards. Then in the 60's a burst of colour burst of the land we were free to remove our caps and feel the blast of wind in our faces and the sun on our hair. Or was that the other way round hmm. then a as we moved towards the magic of the 70,s we were back with a double George improved us and the sainted Wenger created the new Arsenal. Sadly we struggled again, butt . now shout this out. ladies and Gentlemen! A toast WE HAVE A TEAM BACK. Strength in depth good solid players that want to be here. Not yet the finished article but we are growing into a great team. North London is red and not the dark end as further along the road. So let's gloat when possible and thank the lord for being a gooner!
Enjoy the times everyone.

2.) 08 Aug 2023 12:13:01
Saga, I'm struggling to remember a time when you were 5, mate.

3.) 08 Aug 2023 13:41:09
I remember Billy Wright Saga mate.
Played Leeds in a midweek night game at home, lost 2-0 and only 5,000 people turned up
Think it was 1965.I was 8 and had gone to my first home game the previous August.

Morning all, well it ended with a smile. Guess we are all slightly down, 2 more wins would have had the title. But we would have all settled for this at the start of the season.
A massive thanks to all the eds especially ed1, hope its onward and upwards mate. and from me a big and I mean big thanks to you all for your kind words and support, it means a lot. Have a great summer and let's hope we have a great window this summer and we kick on next season.

sagalout

{Ed001's Note - thank you saga, it is always a pleasure to chat with you mate, so that means a lot from you.}

1.) 29 May 2023 18:50:14
One win against City and we’d have had a better chance but if it was still tight you can guarantee City would have dropped any points to Brighton or Brentford .

Next season is a bigger challenge let’s hope we are up for it.

3 inspired buys Jorginho, proven class doing a superb job. Trossard PL ready doing a great job. But then Kiwior is a brilliant buy, probably ended Holdings Arsenal's career. With all CBs fit we've got a solid defence at last.

sagalout

{Ed014's Note - evening Saga, agree mate although I still wouldn’t mind Marc Guéhi from Palace to replace Holding.

1.) 07 May 2023 19:44:31
I agree 3 very astute January signings in a window that is notoriously difficult to get top targets without paying way over the odds inflated prices.

Players, manager, fans, behind the scenes team, everyone at Arsenal have performed brilliantly this season ????.

2.) 07 May 2023 20:19:14
Actually came on here to take back talk about ex-Chelsea players and Jorginho being a desperation buy. Might have been too much of an emotional statement. He was big today and marshal those around him. To be fair I've seen him done before even when we don't play well.

{Ed014's Note - I was the same mate but he’s made me eat my words, especially today

3.) 07 May 2023 20:24:23
Great result in such a difficult place to play will keep City at least keen for a while yet. Impressed by Kiwior to handle such a game with calm and composure in only his 2nd start bods well, maybe holdings time is up tbh.

Jorginho just adds that extra bit of experience and game management in difficult situations was not sure on the signing at first but he has definitely added an extra option now. Trossard making himself hard to drop really.

Jesus not been that great since coming back from that long time injury will take till next season to get full best Jesus I think. There is a strong argument to start Trossard in the false 9 position again.

Tbh I love Tierney to stay with us think he is better defender than Zinchenko but can understand his frustration at not starting if he does leave.

{Ed014's Note - I’d really hate Tierney to leave as he offers so much both defensively and offensively. Love his attitude too.

4.) 07 May 2023 21:20:45
Tierney seems a great professional. I think he must stay and make that spot his again. I think him and ziny gives to different type of lb which great to have but arteta need to start him more next season and I think he will but he might stay put and fight for his spot back.
Also Jesus been decent, his hold up play was brilliant today, however I feel for Trossard he deserves to start but also Martinelli is our top scorer and saka is saka.

5.) 07 May 2023 21:21:41
Tierney is an excellent player when available unfortunately injuries have made it impossible for him to command a regular place in out best 11 ever since he arrived, and in my opinion playing a settled best 11 whenever possible this season has been the biggest factor in our dramatic and quite unbelievable improvement.

Newcastle are keen on him apparently and it's much closer to home for him, so of he does choose to leave it wish him nothing but well.

If any player isn't happy at our club, then move them on! We've seen in recent years what 'player demands' have cost us. Yup he's a great player but if terms don't suit him sell him.

But i'm back in the sun with several pints on a mates 70th birthday talking about old London when scooter louts would have had a visit from a bloke in a Crombie and Trilby and told to behave themselves or get a slap.
Oh met a few gooners today as well and a really good mate that just happens to sadly be a spud. We had a good few EFES tween us as well. No hate here.
Looking forward to a great season

Well i got to eat humble pie regarding the god that is Havertz! My grandson who was on The Arsenal training (never get tired of saying that) course and at Brunel Uni has Schooled me on his role plus a couple of blogs on systems etc. He’s never going to be a big striker but the other stuff he does is very good. So for the for see able future I can be found in a corner with the dunce cap on. A small beer would always be well received guys.

'You have cancer', is a phrase you never forget. You hear it with mates [I just lost a 30yr friendship to it just recently] and neighbours in all walks of life. But when it is said to you, you realise how big a word cancer is. How any parent can survive that very big word being said to a kid of 4, 5, 6 is beyond me. There are no words to describe these 2 men.

Maybe get them to work on a cancer unit for 3-4 yrs just to see the pain these kids and adults live thru and the suffering the parents and spouses go thru when the drugs stop working and an inevitable end is faced. I'm 73 and just don't get some peoples' attitude today. Maybe I'm just old as I sit tapping this message out with my eyes watering and a deep sadness for this family and all of us that don't pull thru. I dunno Know.
