I've seen reports that we are in advanced talks with Damiao for £16m. Any truth in this Ed's. Seems like a quality signing from bits I've heard and seen of him. {Ed013's Note - I think they want more than that for him and we haven't had any confirmed reports of this}

Ubistonk Gunner

1.) Last thing I want is more garbage. rather give theo a chance upfront

2.) Not sure you can call him rubbish Lakerville. Maybe not quite the Higuan/Suarez we hoped, but a very good Giroud back up.

Ozil completed 67 of his 68 passes, what a guy. He really is producing class performances week in, week out now. Let's hope he keeps it up because we are going to need him. On the downside (other than injuries) is that we seem to be fading in games. We looked shattered against Spurs. And again yesterday, we bossed the 1st half, but in the second we lost all our energy and couldn't press anymore when they had the ball. Consequently it turned into a basketball game. Oh, and so that I don't stand out like a saw thumb on here, Wenger out! Etc.

Couldn't agree more Ubi the guy is immense.

I've actually carried out a little experiment over the last 10 days or so just to see which of two particular options was the most pleasurable.

Option 1 was to read this page daily.

Option 2 was to watch 3 matches with the volume turned up really loud with either Michael Owen or Owen Hargreaves as co commentators.

I can't believe how wrong I was about those two guys, for me now, they are the best out there, make Gary Neville look a complete fool, they're so knowledgable about the game and not in anyway irritating.

Who would of expected that. ;-)

Oh and Wenger out with Derby coming in as an immediate replacement, what that guy doesn't know about football could be written on the land mass of Jupiter. ;-)

2.) 30 Nov 2015 12:59:56
dags he ain't bringing you the title mate as much as you want to see it. i'm sorry ain't happening.

but of course we go with what we have as there were no players available this summer.

you can't defend him anymore my friend

and jupiter doesn't interest me i prefer uranus.

3.) 30 Nov 2015 16:36:15
Yep, not bringing us the title, fact, 100 percent, should have signed Griezmann, hell of a player that boy.

4.) 30 Nov 2015 17:18:54
You banged your head ubi or woken up?

09 Nov 2015 22:45:33
A shout out to Wenger for the way he handled yesterday. He gets criticism for being naive tactically, but he spotted we were getting out fought in the middle. I'm sure there weren't too many singing his praises when he takes Santi off for Flamini, but it worked. And then when Arteta came on we finally started getting hold of it in midfield. Thought he did a good job with very limited options.

Ubistonk Gunner

1.) 09 Nov 2015 22:56:26
Totally agree,
If somebody told me he would bring on Flamini, Arteta and Gibbs in 2nd half, you would think we were defending a lead, not looking for an equaliser.
As you said Ubi, good job with limited options.

2.) 10 Nov 2015 00:11:09
Lol yes that's why he done it, I'm sure if everyone was fit the same changes would of been made.

He has done well this year but come on he had no choice but to put those 3 on! He went for experience to get him out of a hole and came up.

Hardly a master stroke!

{Ed007's Note - There's a smutty wisecrack in there but I better not :-) In fact even that reply has unintentionally carried on the smut!}

3.) 10 Nov 2015 02:39:41
I was very impressed with the Gibbs substitution, as he was originally a midfield player and looked quite comfortable. If none of the injured players are back immediately after the intermational break, I would seriously considering startting Gibbs on the left midfield role, switch Sanchez to the right and drop the ineffective Campbell. He can provide good defensive cover for Monreal, as well as making a positive effect offensively.

4.) 10 Nov 2015 08:01:59
He may have had little chioce who to bring on but he did chose well who and when to take off, he does some strange things for sure but credit where its do.

5.) 10 Nov 2015 08:07:00
RG69 wouldn't talk about moving sanchez to the right around ubi he goes mad when you even suggest it.

6.) 10 Nov 2015 09:38:19
I didn't go mad derby, I said it wouldn't happen. And it didn't. But you stick to your dream world matey, you're so much happier there.

7.) 10 Nov 2015 08:33:56
He may have had little choice but he could have always thrown in Iwobi who has impressed in pre season and while playing for the under 21's, but instead he got on Gibbs, may not be a master stroke and no one is claiming it was genius or whatever, but choosing Gibbs ahead of Iwobi, and making Flamini rb when he could have brought on Chambers or Gabriel, shows that we still wanted to get something out of the game so moved Arteta centeral with alexis on right. I think it was tactically spot on.

8.) 10 Nov 2015 10:55:16
the tactic was changed ubi. who scored? yes gibbs, thank you. campbell was terrible.

9.) 10 Nov 2015 11:07:06
Mystifier spurs at home 1 nill down. id be worried if we didn't want something out of the game lol.

10.) 10 Nov 2015 07:49:59
Bond,
You have a dirty mind :-)

{Ed007's Note - Depraved has been the better adjective of choice over the years :-)

06 Nov 2015 07:00:09
"Coman one on one, forget about it". Yeah I'm trying to Owen, but you seem to be talking about it incessantly, you utter utter waste of skin.

Ubistonk Gunner

{Ed001's Note - let me guess, you mean the gutter rat Michael Owen? The world's worst pundit ever!}

1.) 06 Nov 2015 07:42:38
Owen Hargreaves ed but yeah have to agree about Michael Owen. He's another one " Douglas Costa is probably the best in the world right now in a one on one situation " or " Thomas Muller is impossible to pick up"

Rot Hargreaves rot.

{Ed001's Note - oh Hargreaves is just clueless. I don't understand how they pick pundits. They choose ones with voices that put you to sleep, a complete lack of any insight into the game and they lack the ability to entertain even. Added to the moronic journalists like Gabriel Marcotti that they trot out to spout their complete bull on a constant basis, TV is taking away from the sport instead of enhancing it.}

2.) 06 Nov 2015 08:08:24
Not a fan of the 2 Owen's than Ed? Lol.

{Ed001's Note - does it show? There was me thinking I was hiding it well, damn.}

3.) 06 Nov 2015 08:09:30
he is very boring and i'm surprised he's been kept on. my fav person is ray parlour love that guy

coman is an excellent player tho.

{Ed001's Note - I really liked Parlour as a player, he is the kind of example you want to set to the youth players. He could never be accused of leaving anything out there on the pitch, he gave it everything.}

4.) 06 Nov 2015 09:05:31
i feel for him too whenever i think about his divorce terms. that women did well.

{Ed001's Note - didn't she just!}

5.) 06 Nov 2015 09:39:59
It's a good point when you go on about pundits talking bull when they haven't got a clue and that they can't entertain as well.

So we have Ian Wright talks absolute tosh at times but he's entertaining and everyone loves wrighty.

{Ed001's Note - that is a good point, you don't mind them talking nonsense, if it is entertaining. The best thing would be to have one to entertain and a couple to offer insight. Instead we tend to just get the Bobby Savage who are embarrassing.}

6.) 06 Nov 2015 10:00:14
You see savage crap player and an utter end. Played crap talks crap.

Gary Neville utter nob maybe one of the all time top tip ends but talks a lot of sense

Rio good defender but also a complete bum hole and talk crap

Jamie caragher top guy great alongside Neville

I want joey Barton on tv more but when he's on tv I want him in full twatter mode, he gets all sensible on tv needs to be the horrible little sod he really is. But for some reason I like Barton.

7.) 06 Nov 2015 10:50:30
3 pf the worst pundits on tv are ex arsenal players In merson, wright and keown. And for ray parlour he had to be good at something he was a crap footballer. The best pundit on tv is Glenn hoddle mind you he still I the greatest footballer ever to come out of England.

8.) 06 Nov 2015 10:57:29
Keown is a boring twinkle granted . But everyone loves merse and wrighty . Glen hoddle is another mono tone boring mongo as well.

9.) 06 Nov 2015 12:52:22
Merson is absolutely beautiful. This could be anyfink Jeff, anyfink.

10.) 06 Nov 2015 13:05:47
How can anyone not like merse and Wright legendary pair.

11.) 06 Nov 2015 14:52:26
Ed,
What about Carra and Neville?
I think they are brilliant.

{Ed001's Note - I used to love Carra but then he took Murdoch's dirty money. The pair of them are partly aided by the producers, who feed them a large part of their 'insight', as they did with Andy Gray before them. They do work together well though as a pair.}

12.) 06 Nov 2015 15:22:45
I get the Murdock hate but his money is involved in football. Without it it wouldn't be the same.

13.) 06 Nov 2015 15:03:17
Dickson is pretty solid.

14.) 06 Nov 2015 17:33:02
Fair comment Ed, understandable.

31 Oct 2015 14:36:32
Still think Chelsea can win the league Dags? 😁.

Ubistonk Gunner

1.) 31 Oct 2015 14:46:49
still think Liverpool won't finish top 4?

2.) 31 Oct 2015 15:04:24
Absolutely.

3.) 31 Oct 2015 15:14:59
Friendly bet?

4.) 31 Oct 2015 15:21:20
I'll have you a cheeky ten sheet pals.

5.) 31 Oct 2015 16:16:06
Job done :)

6.) 31 Oct 2015 19:37:50
Not a chance Ubi mate,

21 Oct 2015 13:46:05
Owen Hargreaves - "Jerome Boateng is the best centre back in the world right now".
Discuss. Once you've stopped laughing.

Ubistonk Gunner

1.) 21 Oct 2015 14:04:20
Owen Hargreaves is a TWIT, he was talking so much crap last night its untrue.

2.) 21 Oct 2015 14:46:51
Had to put it on mute eventually Ban. I couldn't cope with the words.

3.) 21 Oct 2015 18:59:46
It drove me mad how BT thing he is a good investment god knows.

4.) 21 Oct 2015 20:19:53
Hargreaves and owen are the worst two commentators in football, they droll on and on and their analysis is crap. Mark wright used to do the same to me, we don't hear from him now so there is hope.

5.) 21 Oct 2015 20:20:38
Sorry bright, can't even remember his name.

He's obviously having some kind of mental breakdown Dags. Maybe he's been watching back that hospital pass that De Bruyne played against Spurs.

50 million quid for a 28 year old who has never played in a top league? I mean there are gambles, there are massive gambles, and then this. I have to say I don't blame Arsenal for not parting with the cash on this one.

So let's replace the guy who can't get a kick because he's out for 2 months? Yeah ok, let's buy some door stops made out of solid gold while we're at it.

Ok well in that case that's the whole lot wrapped up then. No point any other teams bothering this year. Season cancelled.

I think Theo will be first choice centre forward at the start of the season. And good luck to him, I would rather see him back to his best than us sign another striker. COYG!

After the summer of 2017, Wenger will likely be given the option of extending 2 years though?

Totally agree, imagine him under a manager that actually likes to see players express their flair instead of stamping it out of them.

Yeah, he went and signed Fellaini instead. At least the jury isn't still out on him, he's definitely terrible.
