Looks like man citys john guidetti is looking for a move in january, has anyone on here seen him play, is he any good? All I have heard about is his loan when he got 20 in 20 or something like that in holland.

Would he fit in at arsenal? {Ed002's Note - I expect that Guidetti will be allowed to leave with interest remaining from both long term suitors Borussia Monchengladbach and Trabzonspor as well as Liverpool.}

Edds I won't ask who we are most likely to sign in january but who at the moment do we have a genuine interest in that are obtainable, granted no one seen ozil coming but who is being looked at?

Cheers {Ed002's Note - There is very real interest from Arsenal in Benzema although I expect interest from elsewhere. There is interest in Draxler but I don't see a move happening - at least not in January. Mitroglou has attracted a lot of interest with Mainz, Inter and Dortmund also declaring an interest in the player. Certainly Arsenal has had the player scouted and I suspect others have done the same. Cabella, Pogba, Abel Hernandez, Gonalons are on the list of admired players. Arsenal spoke with Gundogan's agent but made no approach to Dortmund. Finally, Konoplyanka has been subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which have been turned down. I expect to see Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player.}

Rumours still around that we are in for Draxler, why? I don't think we really need him myself now, anybody else have an opinion on signing him?

Trev179

1.) I think if we sign draxler he will slot right into the lw role

2.) I think draxler would be the best signing we could make. sort out the lw with one of the best in the world and allow pod to play as striker to give us the depth we need there.

3.) Not sure if wenger will spend another £30m on another midfielder, although draxler is bloody good and it will free up the pod to help out olly giroud

4.) If he's available u wouldn't say no would u

5.) He played as a cf in the week
Looked good

6.) Julian draxler? where do I sign?

with Ozil it may not be far fetched. we got the germans best player.

Draxler on one wing and theo on the other. jesus. speed derby. unfortunately. even at 18 draxler is the better player of the two. absolute beast.

we buy draxler and we can win the league.

7.) Draxler is going to be a great player. He has a directness to his play that makes him so very dangerous. This guys can shoot and score outside the box with both feet, great close control, has a trick or 2 to go by players if needed too. What a player he is already.

I don't know what the Germans are doing to create such a wealth of young players. I shall not compare what the Germans are doing to what we are doing in England, but we should be envious.

Buy him and buy him now.

8.) Paying that money we should go for Mata for left wing!

New starting line up if we get him should be; schezney, gibbs, kos, mert, jenkinson, wilshere as holding, ozil on left, chamberlain on right, ramsey in middle, draxler just behind giroud. I know ill get slated for putting jack as our holding, but he's our toughest tackler and puts a good shift in when fit. Might be worth a try. Plus on the bench we'd still have flamini, walcott, cazorla, arteta, podolski. Not bad really.

Well I just had an argument with a tottenham fan in the pub after our win today, and asked him in what way are tottenham a bigger club than arsenal, here are his results.

1. There are more letters in Tottenham than arsenal (I gave him that one).

2. They have a bigger firm than us, I have no knowledge of numbers or even if they still exist in the form that he means, but I'm sure they are because I just don't know.

Even with the avalanche of info and facts and stats against his assumption he still reckons tottenham are a bigger club.

All in all I forgot to ask him does he still believe in the tooth fairy and santa.

True story :-D

Hey guys been away for a while but back now for all the summer madness, I'm all hyped up for Saturday evening now COYG!

Having read a good portion of the page now and after the season we have had I think that we as fans of the club should expect more than remy who is okay but not going to kick us on to the next level in my own opinion.

My question is is it right for me to expect more from the club ie.bigger signings after we got ozil last summer?

Are we as a club ready now to spend like chelski and citeh or will it be the same old same old just good enough signings? *leaving out ozil of course :-D

Trev179

1.) I think it is right to expect top class signings after the transfer of Ozil.
Once you have signed a quality player, you have set a standard, and now that we have some spending cash in the kitty(and almost CL qualification), there should be plenty of world class players looking at us, and also, Ozil would not have come to us if there wasn't the promise of better players to come.

2.) Welcome home Trev, we have to add real quality this summer anything less and its a 4th place fight Again yawn yawn.
Utd city Chelski will all be much stronger next season as will Liverpool if they keep Suarez, the injuries didn't help this season of course but we shouldn't kid ourselves that's all that stopped us being champions.
Two or three top players and we will be in the mix, two or three ok players and we will be in the something different and not as pleasant smelling

Well that's Theo out for the rest of the season, and the world cup, time for gnabry to shine, hoping for a fabregas style rise to prominence

Chant of the night for me by a long distance has to be :

How does it feel to be Tottenham, how does it feel to be small? You sold bale, we signed mesut ozil, mesut ozil, mesut ozil :-D

Trev179

1.) We sing that at every game mate.

2.) I'd snap your hand off for Pedro. A real quality player who can play left or up top. I still want Theo to play up top as he really is improving his runs, movement and his finishing has definitely improved over the last 18 months.

Looks and I emphasize "looks" like we might have bagged Alvaro Morata on loan from Madrid in January, Now I have only watched a few madrid games this year so I can't comment on the lad but has anyone here seen him, and if so what kind of player does he look?

I don't mean to be personal or to insult and maybe my post was an immediate reaction and not well thought out but if I was to take us not getting a player or selling a player eg a cdm this year or selling Henry/van persie like that I would have stopped following the club years ago, yes it does hurt and it's not nice but the club has a plan and sometimes it doesn't work out for various reasons which we will never know but we need to move on and be strong and support the club through thick and thin.

If we had bought welbeck during the summer and not alexis and then yesterday we got alexis I have no doubt things would be very different on this page today, it's all relative in its own way.

What I loved most about his display and what we have been lacking for a good while is that he had the tactical sense and know how near the end of the match to just keep the ball up the other end of the park and waste time and by slowing the besiktas attacks, a bit of "match craft" as the commentators kept bleating out :-)
