Hello eds, I'm not an Arsenal fan but I've got a questioning relating to Arsenal. Are any teams interested in Hector Bellerin? I ask because I think he's a fantastic player, really made that RB position his own! I'd love to see him at Chelsea to replace Ivanovic in a few years (sorry guys). Still very young as well! Cheers

Saim

{Ed002's Note - Bellerin won't be moving this summer.]

If Bellerin was ever going to go anywhere it would be back to barca. There style of play would be more suited as well as they play attractive passing football and like to attack it would be like putting wellies on fish going to chelsea

2.) 04 Jun 2015 01:02:07
I see him going to barca in the next few years. The lure of playing for Real Madrid or Barcelona is too strong these days

3.) 04 Jun 2015 17:44:45
with alves leaving, is there much danger of it happening soon?

Alright lads, me again. Was wondering if you reckon you're favourites to win the title? You're looking very good with lots of different options. I still think city will win the league but I expect you'll run them close. Spurs, Liverpool and City looking good but vulnerable and United will obviously take time but we all know what they're capable of with their team and Jose.

I was also wondering where you lads think Chelsea will finish this season. We've been pretty good the last 2 matches after the defeats to you and Liverpool. If Hazard can get some consistency, our defence continues to improve and Costa keeps banging them in I think we can win the league. However, I don't expect that'll happen. I'll take top 4 for definite (the irony) ;)

Morning fella, I honestly don't see any clear favourites after 8 games, it's all about staying in the mix over the next few months as I don't see anyone running away with it.

You are 3 points from the top and still have a lot of quality in your team so I wouldn't write you out of it at all.

We certainly look more solid and have turned, so far, draws or losses into wins. It's more mentality with us and if that stays as it is then who knows.

City, Liverpool and United all look vulnerable with Liverpool and City looking great going forward. Spurs look good all round but ultimately they're Spurs 😉.

The top 5 right now could well be the top 5 come May, clearly I'd love Arsenal to be top but I couldn't pick an order right now.

2.) 16 Oct 2016 10:14:10
I think it's going to be the most competitive top 4 battle for years with Arsenal city Chelsea Utd Spurs Liverpool and Everton all pushing for a place in next seasons champions league competition.
As for actually winning it I think there are 3 to 4 teams capable of that
City have proven winners both on the field and picking the team and directing things from the dugout so to me are favorite's.
Arsenal no question about the quality but until we actually stay the pace over a season and genuinely compete into May there will always be a question over our mentality ( I'm very hopeful this will be the one where we actually answer that question but we need to actually walk the walk again to be taken seriously.
Chelsea players who were champions just 2 seasons ago plus no European games to fit in have to in with a shout imo but at Chelsea it seems to me player power is never far from packing the managers bags for him for one reason or another.
Spurs no question of what Poch has achieved there in a very short space of time but there is a question mark on both quality in depth and mentality so while they can't be discounted I make them the outsiders of the potential winners.
Utd Liverpool and Everton will all chase the top 4 and be more than ready to replace any team or teams who lose their way from the potential winners group.
That's my take on things combined after the 8 games we've seen so far and what I felt before a ball was kicked.

Big thing for us will be injuries and mental state. We must believe we can win it but we must understand that it's not a god given right - so fight for it every game. On top of that we are reliant on Perez being an unearthed superstar. We may come up a little short due to injuries and potentially lacking something real special up front and the wings because there will be plenty parked buses that you need something special to unlock.

City have weaknesses and I still believe Pep has to be tested as a manager. The big thing is the size of their chequebook - if it's not working come December - they will spend spend and spend. I think next season is their season.

Utd - I don't think they are there yet and They have an old immobile striker who will be tested come December.

Spurs - similar to us in terms of mentality but without the squad depth.

Liverpool - good starting 11 but not sure about their manager and getting them to keep their shape. Running round with energy and passion will get you so far but top 3 requires more than that

Chelsea - No European football is a huge benefit. Look what that did to a reasonably good Liverpool side with no depth. They almost won the league and could have if Gerthug had not bottled it and fallen over again at a key moment. Chelsea are still finding their feet yet still in touching distance after 8 or so games. They could be a surprise top 3 this season. Don't forget their special power - blank chequebook.

I would think City, Arsenal and Chelsea top 3, followed by Spurs then Utd

Biased Gooner perspective.

Hello SY4, Chelsea fan popping over here (be gentle lads) . Just felt like I ought to reply to your comment on how we didn't know what European football was before Roman a bit further down this page.

So are we just going to ignore the Cup Winners' Cup in 1971 and 1998, plus the super cup in 98 as well? There's no need to be bitter about European Cups, you might get one one day! Just remember though, it's the taking part that matters most.

I guess when you've won 13 league titles,12 FA Cups gone a whole season unbeaten or spent 89 consecutive years in top flight football instead of 26 you won't have to mention just little old Europe. 😉.

2.) 26 Sep 2016 12:14:47
Go easy on Saim, he's a good lad 😁.

3.) 26 Sep 2016 14:31:21
When you've not won a league title in over a decade and not beaten your rivals in 9 league matches (or scored in 6) you can celebrate the match on Saturday.

In all fairness you completely dominated us, we were truly shocking! If Zouma and JT were fit I think it might've been a different story, but I guess we'll never know. Hopefully we'll be right up there come the end of the season. I expect City will run away with the title. Top 4 battle will be very interesting with you, Liverpool and Spurs looking very good and obviously United will be up there. If we don't sort things out we will get left behind, though I expect this is just a blip.

Back to my original post. We clearly did have European experience and some massive name players before Roman came in so I'm not really sure where this joke has come from. We had players like Zola, Wise, Poyet, Di Matteo, Weah, Gullit, Vialli, Deschamps, Desailly, Le Bouef, Petrescu, Hasselbaink etc etc, hardly a nothing team!

4.) 26 Sep 2016 14:33:27
Saim 1994 eufa cup look who the winners were.

5.) 26 Sep 2016 16:16:04
It's like boasting how many bronze medals you have won.

6.) 26 Sep 2016 21:15:57
But we've also got the gold medal sanogolovesbentner, only club in London who can say that I believe. And the most recent in England!

7.) 26 Sep 2016 22:56:16
Oh god and here's me thinking your a spurs fan lol.

8.) 27 Sep 2016 00:49:35

Nice one Saim,
Now that's banter, well done mate, nice to know you do have a sense of humour.
Great reply Grow, love it.

3.) 05 Nov 2015 09:21:28
Stevie G - The slippery one.

4.) 05 Nov 2015 09:21:33
Lol it does seem we enjoy losing 3-1 this season, its quickly becoming my least favourite scoreline! Genuine question now, do you guys think you will qualify now? I'm 50-50, could see you easily beating Olympiacos by 2 but then again you never know. As much as I dislike your club I do hope you qualify. It's good to see the English teams do well in Europe and my brother is an Arsenal fan so for his sake it would be nice.

5.) 05 Nov 2015 10:00:53
Saim,
Just a quick reply because off to work.
I don't think we will qualify, we have lost 3 out of 4 games and the 'purist' in me says that's not good enough.
We will give it a go, narrowly miss out, and end up in Europa League, thus shooting ourselves in foot as far as Prem League is concerned.

As a Chelsea fan I really can't understand all the hate for Ozil. He's one of the best players in the league without a doubt and your team would be much worse without him. If I were an arsenal fan I'd be very worried about losing Sanchez and Ozil, you'd be a much worse team without them. It would be similar to chelsea losing Hazard and Costa, City losing De Bruyne and Aguero, Liverpool losing Coutinho and Mane etc. You need to tie them down ASAP.

Is Muniain not one of the players caught up in that whole De Gea scandal from before the euros? I know that all died down very quickly but still.

Another Chelsea fan- must admit I laughed at your clubs situation for a while. Today I genuinely feel sorry for you Arsenal fans, that must’ve been rough. I don’t think you will be anywhere near a relegation battle but realistically if results don’t improve it’s something to think about. Arteta is not the man for you, you need a ball breaking manager that doesn’t take no for an answer. Get Conte in, give him the money he needs and you’ll be top 4 again. My family all support Arsenal so for that reason I wish you Good luck for rest fo the season. Just don’t beat us.

So Arsenal never spent money to win all those trophies? And haven't spent hundreds of millions in recent years to win a few FA Cups? I'm not saying we would be where we are without Roman, however, every club spends money on talent and as proven by the club you support itself it doesn't always guarantee success.

Oh you mean when we won the FA Cup and Super Cup in late 90s, Cup Winners Cup etc all in the decade before Roman took over. Champions League semis before his investment. Suggest you read your facts raver!

Thankfully I support the London team that wins meaningful trophies unlike both you boys but felt I had to comment on this after seeing that comment by the raver. Few wins away from the complete European trophy haul? Don't make me laugh! Your lot haven't won anything in 10 years and even then it was the least meaningful of all available! And you last won the league when raver? And the CL? Oh sorry shouldn't mention that trophy in an Arsenal/ Spurs debate, oops!

Nothing better then seeing Arsenal and Spurs fans argue over who are the bigger bottlers.
