Hi eds - seems we are down a potential striker and don't have a credible list of potential targets - can you offer any help?

Any interest in Dzeko?

Red Rooster

{Ed025's Note - a striker will be one of the priorities for arsene this coming season rooster but i cant see it being dzeko mate, hes not really an upgrade on giroud for me and im looking for better to be honest..

1.) 20 Jun 2016 10:05:15
Thank you sir - can't wait to see some names and for the record, I like Giroud and would like to see another striker with different qualities so that we have a strong rotation. Vardy would have offered that.

2.) 21 Jun 2016 17:00:54
Hello ed, many newspapers report that arsenal are holding talks with everton over lukaku, is this true?

{Ed025's Note - im hearing that he is likely to stay at everton alex..

05 Jan 2015 19:52:40
Hi eds, lots of talk re Perrin is he done or is there a possibility for Nastisic?

Red Rooster

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine.}

Eds any interest in getting Song back? Not what many are looking for but great for depth in CDM and CB.

Red Rooster

{Ed025's Note - nothing that i have heard RR..

Like some other seasoned and wisened participants on this board I am quite keen on Schneiderein to join the rotation with Arteta and Flaminin. However, as good as the pick up sounds on paper.age, skills, potential and cost . I don't recall any credible sources on this one, help me out here, has there been anything to give us hope that he is a serious target? Many thanks and ed 02 this means you!

Red Rooster

{Ed002's Note - Both Arsenal and Napoli will look to Southampton's Schneiderlin this summer.}

1.) My source is from within Southampton. Talks have definitely already been held for Schniederlin. I'm sorry that I can't name who my source is but I can definitely say that it is someone who should know.

2.) Pretty much common knowledge that after Bender he is our number 1 target!

3.) Pretty much common knowledge that after Bender he is our number 1 target!

I like the idea of Arsenal signing Loic Remy - would like it even more if ed 002 told me we were serious about it ;-))

Red Rooster

{Ed002's Note - He would not be first choice.}

1.) Do you know who first choice would be then Ed?

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Ciro Immobile from both Arsenal and Dortmund.}

2.) Any idea who the first choice would be ed?

3.) 15k a week at the moment region of £9-10 mil. Only problem is Dortmund will be tenacious in the market due to the departure of lewandoski. Ciro sounds like a decent player though, newest flavour in seria A

Haven't posted in awhile, but can't hold back. Monreal tries hard but he is a terrible football player and a liability. Total howler today beginning to end. Sorry for the boss.

Red Rooster

1.) 03 May 2018 22:05:11
The final ball was shocking throughout we are so poor at crossing. Monreal just has not got that technique. Bellerin was equally as bad. When you rely on the fullbacks like us for that only bit of width it really kills us when they can't get decent balls in the box.

{Ed0333's Note - You got into some great positions but no one wanted to take the responsibility to shoot. You needed some men out there and all I saw were lambs.

2.) 03 May 2018 22:15:04
Exactly Ed. It's so frustrating these are the games players should be dreaming about making names for themselves. I saw no one do. That. Monreal and bellerin I thought were terrible. Switching off at the back and poor crossing. I really can't explain what bellerin was doing on the goal. Such basic defending.

{Ed0333's Note - maybe nerves play a part. It’s a semi final of a European Cup competition and its high stakes. That’s the only reasoning I can muster. I agree both full backs were wasteful. But then again will Wilshere, Ozil and Wellbeck didn’t cover themselves with glory either.

3.) 03 May 2018 22:59:32
That's very true Ed. Ozil is the kind of player that should step up to these games that's why he's earning the ridiculous salary. Welbeck to be honest just doesn't seem to add much for me and wilshere I'm still not sure he's good enough. Doesn't seem a coincidence to me he is looking poor again now Ramsey seems to be picking up some sort of form.

{Ed0333's Note - wilshere is not the answer in any way shape or form. If you guys give him a new contract shame on you guys mate.

4.) 03 May 2018 23:12:29
How on earth are people slagging Nacho? Yes his distribution wasn’t tip-top tonight. but. He’s been one of our if not our best player this season.

One bad game n get shot of him. 🙄.

With all of thee comings and goings and more to come - what is the plan for Lacazette - the kid has shown great promise but has been subbed every game and now is on the bench. I am a little concerned we are going screw a up a big signing and not for the first time.

Red Rooster

1.) 07 Feb 2018 11:51:24
Lacazette started so promisingly, but as can happen with new signings under Wenger his form declined, the same as Kolasinac.
Perhaps, Wenger will use him in EL matches and to give Aubameyang a rest when necessary or Wenger may experiment by playing Aubameyang wide left and Lacazette in the centre.

2.) 07 Feb 2018 12:25:00
You can look at it both ways rooster. We have often been soft and giving some players best part of a decade to then find they are never going to be good enough. For me if laca is mature enough he will realise that he’s a very important part of the team . Until iwobi is replaced I think we should continue with auba through the middle and then if needs be take iwobi off move auba into his possition and laca up top.

3.) 07 Feb 2018 15:36:39
I think Lacasette arrived full of confidence but slowly but surely had it subbed and benched out of him.

4.) 08 Feb 2018 13:13:58
You could see his confidence drop, as time and time again he sets himself up for the ball to be slipped in behind the defence, only for us to continue to pass the ball sidewards in front. Unless we change our style, I can see him becoming another Walcott, in that he just gives up and comes short towards the ball all the time, gets it, passes it sidewards about 5 feet to Xhaka, and does nothing else. I really hope we try both Lacca and PEA together with Ozil feeding through balls quicker.

5.) 08 Feb 2018 17:37:23
his problem is he is not used to playing in such a physical league, and with not getting a winter break added in, performances drop, this is why he gets subbed every game after70 min, in the prem 70 mins is like 120mins in the french league, i think come march, warmer weather and softer pitches you will see the best of him again, players need to be given the chance to adapt, just look at morata, scored 8 in 9 over used due to lack of cover now everyone thinks he is shiiiiite, when in fact its a physical league and he is used to a winter break.

6.) 08 Feb 2018 19:33:56
We got stuffed by Liverpool in late august early September Ricky and both Laccazette and Kol were playing well prior to that game so but Arsene still left them out for some strange reason, sorry mate but I don't think your explanation is water tight there mate
The fact is everyone but Arsene was mystified by them being on the bench as we all were by Sanchez being benched at Anfield the season before only to be sent on in the second half to try and turn around a game that was already a lost cause after 45 minutes.
Arsene's strange decisions can't be nothing to do with why players don't perform as they can and results go so badly so often mate.

Chambo is class, talent plus heart. should have made him captain not shipping him out to a rival like Reds. Past time we built a strong core MR WENGER!

Red Rooster

1.) 15 Jan 2018 15:08:06
The best thing for the ox was to get away from wenger.

2.) 15 Jan 2018 15:43:59
It was one of those transfers that made sense to both player and club. Plus he wanted to leave don't forget that. Haven't been too overly impressed since his move it just seems everyone is now piping up about it because he scored against city.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 15:53:32
We got £35m for him.

Good business.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 16:08:48
Agreed Dags. Seems to be a decent deal for both sides with the way things have gone. Though I think its leaning towards a better deal for us at this rate!

On a side note: I'm not even an Arsenal fan and I want this Sanchez saga to end. IT JUST WONT GO AWAY. Keep checking this site for updates on it haha.

5.) 15 Jan 2018 16:37:32
I feel the same will be true for Walcott, Szczesny is playing a blinder at Juve. Maybe a pattern is emerging.

6.) 15 Jan 2018 17:43:21
We paid a fair price he’s a good player and getting Better under Klopp he needed a change and it’s worked wel for all parties, as time goes on I think it’ll be us who got the better deal. You have a few in the squad who have gone a bit stale and need a change, Walcott etc.

7.) 15 Jan 2018 20:15:06
Does the boss count as "in the squad"? Seems to be the one that's gone a bit stale.

14 Jan 2018 16:30:15
Wow - we have been down so badly that this chat space can't even get too disappointed.

It probably sounds simple but for me, really good teams need a balance of flair players for hire (Sanchez, Ozil etc) and core players with undying loyalty to the badge (Adams, Keown etc) and those in between. It seems for some time that Le Boss has tipped too far to the players for hire with no core and it really shows. It will take a lot of money and a bit of time to get this right but Wenger has surely lost the plot.

It only have pains me to say, because I was in favor of signing him. But Vardy is going to have a rough year, career and regret snubbing Arsenal forever. Pas mal buddy!

Red Rooster

1.) 06 Oct 2016 12:39:29
Like they say better to regret the things you have done rather than the things you haven't.

2.) 06 Oct 2016 15:05:11
It would be amusing after he was speaking from such a high horse about how snubbing us was such an easy decision. Found that very strange as he took a month to announce an actual decision.

3.) 06 Oct 2016 15:13:27
Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

So not suited to Arsenal.

4.) 06 Oct 2016 19:40:06
This time last season people were calling Harry Kane a one season wonder.
I'm no idea if Vardy will get back last season's form but like many Leicester players he's having a problem getting going again after such a high.

5.) 07 Oct 2016 09:41:15
I hate Vardy but he has a PL winners medal and on 80,000 a week - if that's a rough career than I want to be doing whatever it is you do for a living!

Your not wrong sir, sometimes he is pretty slow to get the new guys in and they have a hard time settling in. Gabriel, xhaka, Perez even someone like Ox etc.

Good question, but how are we supposed to know how our formation works with the bosses' choice of personnel?

Holding/ Merts/ Kos at the back, bullerin and the hulk on the wings and elneny/ coq plus xhaka in the middle would at least give us a chance to understand.

Baffling.

Steve you are bang on this time. Mahrez can be a beast for us and it's all about motivation. I hope we have enough leadership to keep him focused.

Would like to see Mahrez on an incentive driven deal for the player and for the seller. would be a beast with Sanchez and Ozil.

Am I missing something with Perez, he had some nice moments but never got a serious chance. Creative player and can find the goal.

I have no strong feelings on a manager, but would really like a manager that plays with flair - the Arsenal way.
