Can people please for the love of god stop p. ing off ed002 and being ungrateful with all of the info and hours of work he puts into this site. I just want to see his transfer reports but he deleted the New Years one now because people were being ungrateful. Is there a way we can ban these people to stop them from ruining it for the rest of us? ?
Ed002, for all of the rude members of this site I can assure you there are at least 50x more people who are thankful and grateful for the work you do, even if they don’t post and are usually just lurkers (like myself) . Hope you have a great new year and eventually you can maybe come back to this site.

Fellow gooners: I’ve seen reports we’re looking at getting Wijnaldum on a 6 month loan… would you be happy with that?

Players where interest has been shown:
Bernd Leno (G) will be sold to raise funds.
Calum Chambers (RB) a decision point of new contract or another Free Agent.
Sead Kolasinac (LB) Will leave as a Free Agent if he cannot be sold in released in January. Available but Lazio and Schalke interest may have waned.
Konstantinos Mavropanos (CB) Loan to permanent with Stuttgart or an escape route from Arsenal to Dortmund.
William Saliba (CB) Marseille want a permanent deal. Player wants out.
Matteo Guendouzi (DM/CM) loan to permanent with Marseille. Player wants out.
Mohamed Elneny (DM) another Free Agent. Will be allowed to move on in January.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RM/RWB) looking for more playing time. Arsenal will try to keep him. Roma offer the player a way out.
Bukayo Saka (LM/LW/RW) Atletico have enquired after his availability and Juventus have declared an interest. Arsenal want to keep him. If he were to come up for sale then Liverpool might well be interested - he is young, home grown, versatile and doing well scoring goals from midfield.}
Omari Hutchinson (AM) Seen as a potentially very talented youngster by Arsenal is perhaps unhappy with his lot and maybe Kia can find him a better home with better prospects.
Nicolas Pepe (W) Not really working out. Arsenal will struggle to find a buyer but could look to a loan with an option to buy deal with Crystal Palace looking for a RW. The players wants out and is being offered around.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangadingdong (F) wants a new start elsewhere and Arsenal know his value is plummeting. PSG may offer him a way out as an Icardi replacement in the short-term. Juventus may offer a short-term loan deal whilst they regroup. Napoli may retain an interest in Aubameyangadingdong as a preferred option to replace Mertens - Barcelona could look to add a cheap experienced striker as early as January. Newcastle offer an initial loan. He is another player who wants out - club will not stand in his way if a buyer can be found.
Alexandre Lacazette (S) I expect him to leave as a Free Agent. It has been proving difficult to find interested potential buyers and may well run down his contract. Offered to Inter and Sevilla.
Eddie Nketiah (S) Will look to other options in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen, Brentford and West Ham might provide one, Leeds perhaps another. Injury made a move difficult last summer. a decision point of new contract or another Free Agent.
Folarin Balogun (S) is frustrated at the lack of opportunities at Arsenal and his "agent" is again offering him around with interest from West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen.
Khayon Edwards (S) Youngster who, like so many do nowadays, is demanding guarantees of game time and refusing to sign a contract. Southampton are cherry picking such kids and can offer better guarantees than Chelsea who will give him a roadmap but no guarantees. Scouts from a couple of German clubs have looked at him. Arsenal are very keen to keep him.

Players where interest has been shown:
Andre Onana (G) Inter and Napoli are very keen. If Leno leaves Arsenal will look to him again. Lyon and Nice saw him as an option, but no longer. Barcelona need a ter Stegen replacement and financially he is attractive. Inter likely have the edge and I expect him to agree the move.
Odysseas Vlachodimos (G) At the right price Benfica will sell. Lille were keen but no agreement and turned elsewhere. Newcastle and Arsenal have a declared interest.
Sergi Roberto (RB/RWB/RM) Arsenal would like to take him when he becomes a Free Agent but the player hopes for better options.
Noussair Mazraoui (RB) Out of contract in the summer and seen as a low cost option to replace Dest in Barcelona. Arsenal and Leeds have declared an interest. Ajax will not sell in January and would like a new contract.
Keiran Trippier (RB) Atletico will sell. They are likely hoping for Arsenal or Everton interest as well as Newcastle and Manchester United - but Everton interest may have left with CA.
Tyler Adams (DM/RB) has attracted the interest of Arsenal with Manchester United asking his agent about availability – RBL will not be looking to sell.
Guido Rodriguez (DM) The club have said that if someone comes up with his €75M release clause then he can be sold. There is no interest at that price, but Arsenal have watched the player but without further departures do not need another DM player. It seems very unlikely the player would want the move after only being in Spain since January 2020, although Real Betis would be open to a sale. A reasonable fee might be €20M-€25M - but that may not be enough for them. If Liverpool are interested, it would not be as a Wijnaldum replacement but more likely a Fabinho replacement - makes no sense. Potentially on the list for West Ham as a Declan Rice replacement.
Renato Sanches (CM) Lille are happy to let the player move on due to the constant muscle injuries he suffers; they wanted €20M cash or €30M with payments spread out although that could increase if Jorge Mendes can find multiple bidders or if there is no sale in January. Klopp has praised him in the past and he would be a more affordable replacement for Wijnaldum, but interest is not yet firm again, but Liverpool could look to reducing the fee or even perhaps offering Origi in exchange - but Lille need cash. Barcelona had a sustained interest, but they have moved on. I had thought prior interest of Wolves would likely have left with NES but they could take a chance on him joining on a loan to buy deal after his recent injury - they may even be in a position to look for a cheaper straight cash deal in January. Arsenal would need to make space due to their imbalance between DM and CM. Milan may provide an option but would rather save money and utilise loanees Tommaso Pobega and Yacine Adli to cover for the departing Kessie. The concern would be injury issues and, although talented, he is inconsistent. Something could well happen with Arsenal.
Philippe Coutinho (AM/CM) was available in the summer and was actively being offered around to English, Italian and German sides - but the clubs approached like Spurs, Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester Liverpool and Everton had preferred options or no interest and would only look to him if options dried up and if a loan to buy option were available - but Barcelona ideally wanted cash and still do. Italy may provide an option on loan but that won't suit Barcelona which might well rule out Lazio. Milan would not be a surprise at the right price. If Barcelona cut their losses then they may look to an exchange and might see who clubs like Juventus have available. Kia wanted to get him in to Arsenal ahead of Odegaard or Aouer - but that came to nothing. Kia will knock on Edu's door again in January and try and strike a deal - but with Odegaard signed it is hard to see where he would fit in without Smith Rowe departing. Kia will likely try Spurs again, who do have space in their squad but unless they soon turn things around their focus might be elsewhere. Kia will keep pushing him toward Arsenal.
Ianis Stoica (RW/F) has been watched by scouts from Brighton, Arsenal and PSV but FCSB have no interest in selling in the short-term unless a very significant offer were made. Not first choice for PSV who are looking for an upgrade on Doan. Arsenal are very keen and see him as a Pepe replacement – but it is a huge step up.
Raheem Sterling (W) At the right price his sale will help the start of a rebuild. He will be available for perhaps £60-70M. Could be one of the players offered to Spurs for Kane or Barcelona if any part exchange is possible. Arsenal may offer an option as a Pepe replacement. Else he will have to settle for a new contract. Seems unlikely.
Christopher Nkunku (AM/LW/RW) Manchester City have been told by RBL that the player is not for sale. Chelsea and Real Madrid have watched him and he is on their respective lists of potential wingers as all look to shuffle what they have. Arsenal provide a very much less attractive solution. RBL will resist a move. Not going to happen.
Noa Lang (LW) was purchased for a €6.5M option from Ajax by Brugge in the summer and was due to be sold on at auction. Brugge say there were no offers but Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Leeds have sent scouts to watch him each has declared an interest. Borussia Muenchengladbach consider him an option if Marcus Thuram leaves - but they don't wish to sell. The player comes with serious baggage which is why Milan seem to have stepped away after showing a great deal of interest. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool but they may well have had scouts watch him as he is doing well. Brugge will look for perhaps €30M in January or next summer. For Arsenal he would be a Saka replacement.
Youssef En-Nesyri (S) West Ham and Manchester United apparently, via a third party, have made an approach to ask about availability and price for the player who has done well this season, but has mot set the world alight previously. Will be off the AFCON when it comes around. Makes little sense given Sevilla are not looking to sell and would demand around €50M but there remains the thought both sides could look again. It would be doubtful he would be a starter for Manchester United. Arsenal has also shown interest in the player as a replacement for Lacazette but they need to raise funds to balance the books and could only be a viable option if a significant sale were made.
Paul Onuachu (S) Arsenal and West Ham showed some interest this past summer. Unclear if it remains.
Tiago Tomas (F) Sporting are happy to letter the youngster move on as they see his development having stalled. Arsenal has been suggested by his agent as a possible destination - although he would not be one for the first team at this time but might be a potential replacement if Arsenal were to lose Folarin Balogun.
Luka Jovic (S) there was the option to return to Eintract Frankfurt on a loan with an obligation to buy but it depended on selling Andre Silva and not replacing him - but they opted for the well thought of Rafael Borre. Milan have a sustained interest but have opted for a cheaper solution. Inter wanted to take him as cover but they have much preferred options. Was offered to West Ham but nothing came of it. A third party enquired on behalf of Arsenal but come the end of the summer window there was no space for him - could return for him as a Lacazette replacement. Roma were offered him but the coach turned him Real Madrid will offer him in part exchange for others.
Charles De Ketelaere (AM/LW/F) There has been interest from Nice and Lorient who were worried about losing Terem Moffi. Arsenal have watched him but taken it no further. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool.
Moussa Dembele (S) just possibly still an option.
Ivan Toney (S) The player decided on a move to Brentford instead of Swansea or Brighton and that has worked well for him. Celtic also made enquiries. After a very good start to last season he has attracted scouts from a number of Premier League sides including Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Arsenal, and again Brighton. Brentford have no interest in selling unless the player pushes for a move. Proposed to Chelsea as a Tammy Abraham replacement.
Inter wanted to take him as cover but they have much preferred options - but don't rule them out. Was offered to West Ham but nothing came of it. A third party enquired on behalf of Arsenal but come the end of the summer window there was no space for him - could return for him as a Lacazette replacement, and that would not be a surprise. Roma were offered him but the coach turned him elsewhere. Real Madrid will offer him in part exchange for others. Everton could be open to discussions, but I am not aware of an approach just yet.
Darwin Nunez (S) Benfica don't want to sell Nunez but they have had serious interest from two sides. Manchester City enquired about Darwin Nunez in the summer were told he won't be available before the summer of 2022. Borussia Dortmund are keen. MIlan have a sustained interest and tried to sign him before he moved to Benfica, but significant financial issues mean they will need to sell other assets as they have other players they wish to add as well - and he is the most expensive of their primary Ibrahimovich replacement targets. Barcelona have enquired knowing that signing their preferred option is unlikely but were told they would have to pay his €150M release clause to sign him. Inter want to replace Alexis Sanchez with Nunez but moving on Sanchez is a serious problem for them. Suarez will leave Atletico in the summer, and they might provide the best solution. Brighton has a declared interest, but it will go nowhere. Arsenal have shown an interest but are far from attractive option and possibly a step back. Scouts from many sides have been watching a number of Benfica players. Would be too expensive for Arsenal.
Andrea Belotti (S) of Torino is out of contract in the summer and may provide a solution for Barcelona to add cover. Spurs could also look to him as cover and as a Free Agent he provides a potentially viable addition for Arsenal. Cannot move in January due to injury. I think this is one MIlan can win out but Arsenal may decide to push.
Jonathan David (S/AM) Lille, like many French clubs were hit hard by the loss of broadcast revenue and will need to sell some of their more valuable assets even though they do not want to. Jonathan David is valued by Lille at an unrealistic €60M with Real Madrid keen if a deal cannot be reached for Haaland. Another option for Madrid might be to pay a deposit on a transfer for 2023 and leave him at Lille. Real Madrid may try and negotiate Eden Hazard being included in a deal. There is likely to be plenty of interest in him for a summer move if his price comes down a little - West Ham, Inter and Arsenal are three clubs cited having sent scouts to watch him.
Arthur Cabral (S) Basel have fended off the interest of Leeds and Nice utilising their regular involvement in European competition. The player could be attracted to Barcelona as a Braithwaite replacement but will understand that he would be no more than a second-string player and it would be a huge step up. Arsenal have scouted him.
Alexander Isak (S) Michael Zorc wanted to take him back from Real Sociedad regardless of any different wishes of the coach at Borussia Dortmund and the interest from BD may continue still. Barcelona see him as a possible addition but are not well placed to add him. Manchester City have a desire to add the player and Chelsea have considered him as a Tammy Abraham replacement but consider the asking price high. Manchester United have watched the player but are less attractive as a destination. Arsenal see him as an option to their preferred Lacazette replacements but the price is a concern and again they may not be attractive. Juventus also offer a solution for the player. Real Madrid are keen but have preferred options. Real Sociedad have financial woes and may take the opportunity to profit now they have removed the buy back clause to keep him this season. They will seek the full €70M termination fee in cash from sides other than Borussia Dortmund who will have a discount - but will likely not get takers at that price. Arsenal and Juventus may look to a January solution.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) with Everton in need of adding a striker the chances of DCL being sold unless a very significant offer arises are small. However, Arsenal are still looking for a striker and interest remains. The Real Madrid coach has said he is one of the rare English players who he thinks would take to football on the continent - so there may be interest. Other clubs looking for a striker such as Spurs have other preferred options. Manchester United may also provide an option.
Dusan Vlahovic (S) Fiorentina eventually managed to hang on to the player last summer regardless of the interest of Manchester City and Atletico Madrid and now want a new contract. The player’s agent has made it clear to the club that the player needs to make a step up and move on. There is significant interest in the player. Milan are keen on the player as an Ibrahimovic replacement - Spurs have the same view in respect of Kane and Antonio Conte is an admirer of the player. Whilst Paratici is keen he may be scared off by the price and could turn to an alternate solution Spurs have in mind. Dortmund see him as a Haaland replacement but a move seems unlikely. Manchester United have had him watched but, like Roma and Arsenal are an unattractive option and can be discounted; whilst the rising cost of the transfer will remove Atletico Madrid from the equation, and they have a far more economically viable solution in mind. Bayern Munich and Juventus offer attractive options which would see him at the top of the game. Juventus have an advantage as the player is keen to remain in Italy – but the club are being pressed to sign another. Bayern Munich are looking for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski and know that their first choice is very unlikely to join them as it stands right now. Chelsea are still a striker short and may put a proposal to Fiorentina but it is difficult to see the move happening. Barcelona may become an option if they lose out on Haaland and, critically, if Fiorentina would accept players as part of a deal. I think it unlikely. PSG cannot be discounted as an Icardi replacement. Inter want the future of Lautaro Martinez resolved else they will also look to him. Manchester City should still not be discounted and he I seen as a very clear option to Harry Kane. The player was happy to stay this season but there will be efforts made in January to agree a transfer, perhaps for the summer. The compelling case for him to stay where he is for this season has proven correct with his value increasing and a wider range of clubs interested. The best advice would be to see what happens in Munich and Turin - and don't rule out a bid from Spurs or Manchester City. Fiorentina will look to €90M or €100M. Can't see a move to Arsenal.

Thanks for that post Muska, wonderful info.
I'd be happy with Wijnaldum. It looks like AMN seriously wants out and it doesn't seem right to heap too much responsibility on Lakonga atm with Partey and Elneny at Afcon.

2.) 04 Jan 2022 15:14:01
Just want to confirm I did not add the extensive player list to my post - that must have been Ed002. Thank you my man it’s greatly appreciated!

Sally - exactly my thoughts. Looking light in CM now, maybe arteta wants to give patino more responsibility also.

Genuinely feel majority of us ask a reasonable question, there are some (myself included) that seem to not word it right.

However, there are those that know what they're typing and know how they want and mean it to come across.

Id just like to mirror remarks regarding ed002.

You're insight and knowledge are gold dust. And we're privileged, as to all of the eds that keep this fantastic site going.

Hi all,
I’ve been visiting this site for literally years, but have only just created an account .

Firstly, Ed002, thank you so much for all of the continuous stream of information, you're the sole reason I keep coming back. You are very much appreciated!

Secondly, can we all appreciate the massive cahoonas on Saka for willingly stepping up to take probably the most important penalty in English football history. Immensely proud he’s one of our own! Hope he’s not kicking himself too hard.

I’m feeling optimistic about this season. If we can shift some players and invest well, let’s hope we can make a push for top 4 again.

Any new updates on outgoings now the Euros have finished Ed?

Cheers.

Muska

{Ed002's Note - It looks something like this:
Bernd Leno (G) Leno could well leave.
Matt Lacey (G) left as a Free Agent
Hector Bellerin (RB) Real Betis would like Bellerin to replace Emerson. He is seen as a serious option for Inter as a Hakimi replacement. Atletico Madrid are keen at the right price. Villareal may just offer an option. Kia did look a straight exchange of Bellerin and Neto knowing Arsenal are interested in a GK in the summer, although they have now sugned Hakimi.
Sead Kolasinac (LB) wants to leave Arsenal and has been offered to Lazio and Roma by his agent. Fenerbahce have asked for details. Schalke have proposed taking him on loan but will only pay part of his salary. Will likely be allowed to leave as a Free Agent.
Dinos Mavrapanos (CB) Will stay at Stuttgart for another year with an option, rather than obligation to buy.
William Saliba (CB) No future and his time is being wasted at Arsenal - but they may well force him to stay to save spening money on a replacement. Loan at Nice has gone well and Marseille have asked about a loan for next season whist discussing another player with Arsenal and likely losing out of their first choice Caleta-Car replacement and perhaps Newcastle - but that would be dependent on another matter. Marseille have finally got an agreement for a loan after a lot of messing about by Arsenal.
David Luiz (CB) will leave at the end of the season as a Free Agent. A return to France is possible although PSG have opted for Ramos instead. Other options exist.
Granit Xhaka (DM) One of several options for Roma - but price is an issue. Roma are not pleased with Arsenal and are also going down the take it or leave it route.
Lucas Torreira (DM) will be made available in the summer if a deal cannot be struck in advance with Fiorentina as Arsenal are pricing him out of the market and Lazio have the same opinion, the player may get his wish to move to Boco on loan as they only offer an option to buy at a low price. CSKA and Lazio will likely battle it out and I suspect Lazio will win out.
Matteo Guendouzi (CM/DM) Hertha Berlin will not be taking up their option. Marseille are keen as a Kamara replacement but think Arsenal are asking too much. Real Betis and Villareal will be priced out of a move. 'l'OM have given rsenal a take it or leave it price and they have taken it.
Dani Ceballos (CM) loan will expire at the end of the season.
Joe Willock (CM) Newcastle want loan to permanent. Arsenal would like to keep him but if they persist in looking to other options there will be no space for him and he will be squeezed out. He is now 21 and would count as part of the full squad.
Reiss Nelson (CM) new contract and a loan seems a possibility but a decent offer could see Arsenal bite as they reshuffle midfield.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (CM) An enquiry has been made by both Newcastle and Southampton. Due to his versatility there will likely be interest from elsewhere as well. He and his agent have made it clear he wants to play in midfield and not as full back. With midfield additions it is hard to see if there will be space for him going forward.
Emile Smith Rowe (AM/CM) Aston Villa are certainly interested in ESR and Arsenal are certainly in need of selling players but I doubt Arsenal will want to sell him as there are plenty of others they want to let go of first. So it is possible rather than probable.
Eddie Nketiah (S) Will look to other options in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen, Crystal Palace and West Ham might provide one, Leeds perhaps another.
Alexandre Lacazette (S) proving difficult to find interested potential buyers and may well run down his contract over next season and leave as a Free Agent.
Willian (W) Arsenal want to sell but the price combined with his wages make a move to the MLS and Inter Miami most unlikely. They will look for other solutions.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangadingdong (S/LW) Arsenal were kind enough to give Aubameyangadingdong a nice new contract 6 months ago - it is unclear why, but coming up to 32 it would not have given a boost to or protected his value meaning that which he sucks £350k a week out of the club the future is pretty bleak unless he wants to move to China or to Turkey. Dropping wages and seeing his time out in the graveyard of elderly strikers at Inter Milan or perhaps Manchester United might be an option but there is no obvious interest.}

Wow. Thanks Ed for the huge amount of detail. Top bloke!

Apart from Aubameyang, I would be happy enough to sell every single one of those players to raise funds for incomings. Let’s see how we get on this summer.

Cheers again Ed, much appreciated.

2.) 13 Jul 2021 12:04:10
Thanks for this comprehensive review Ed, much appreciated. We don't make things easy for ourselves do we?
Sounds like the same old Arsenal!

3.) 13 Jul 2021 12:12:35
Great stuff ed002 and totally agree Muska. Saka stepped up when there were plenty of players ahead of him backing off. He was the main reason I kept tuning in last season.

4.) 13 Jul 2021 15:54:54
Amazing Ed.
