I have been a staunch "Wenger Out" person, but now he's staying I guess it's pointless to bang on now. At least until next seasons promises disappear, or the close season sees little happen bar Sanchez and Ozil leave after protracted holding out for huge fess that don't actually materialise and then Wenger complaining that other clubs want too much for their own players, and anyway there isn't enough time now (sigh) .

On a separate note, Tuchel to Southampton anyone?

ed with atletico transfer ban being confirmed, do you see us pushing for lacazette now or is us not being in the champions league means we won't get him?

{Ed002's Note - They may look to him again.}

Hi Malaga Gooner.
Should we be interested in purchasing Sandro Ramirez?

Max Farnham

1.) 09 May 2017 13:37:26
Hi max

No we have no interest.

2.) 09 May 2017 14:50:43
Sorry max read the post wrong

From what I have seen of him, he's strong quick and has good link up play.

3.) 09 May 2017 17:10:08
Hahahahahha.

4.) 09 May 2017 21:21:15
So Malaga, is that a "yes" from you then?

5.) 10 May 2017 14:51:32
I would give him a shot max, he's a younger version of Peres.

I rarely post these days but do read regularly: I normally can't type for crying tears of mirth at Mr Dagenham Gooners' wonderful jokes. I work in recruitment and some while ago met with the head of Arsenals' Human Resources. I've kept in touch and whilst I have never had even a sniff of any gossip or rumour - they are way too professional for that - I have struck up rapport with an individual in that team. Clearly I cannot say who (Eds can check out my linked in profile if they want to to verify I'm in recruitment) but in last days have given a cryptic clue that points possibly towards Javi Martinez. I'd love it to be true and do note that I am putting 2 and 2 together and might be getting 22 but it would fulfil our obvious need for cover in DM and CB. I'm no pretender to the crown of Malaga Gooner (no offence intended MG), but as a special effort to pass this on, I've learned how to add an avatar, especially for you!

1.) That is great rumor and well presented - Thanks for the hope Max, that would be amazing!

2.) Thank you Max.

Always a pleasure.

3.) I have a suspicion you could be correct max

4.) Would be a typical Wenger keep it schtum until it's wrapped up kind of deal. Even if it's only 5% true this rumour made my day.

5.) So dags, your not only spursman and malaga, your max farnham now as well ;). in all seriousness though, I can't see us signing martinez

6.) I think this maybe a bit far fetched. i'm sure wenger will try to land the player.

however considering bayern signed him for 35 mill, and will probably want the same or more, i'm not quite sure if we can afford that sum.

it makes sense that he can play CB, CDM, just as Howedes makes sense where he can play LB and CB.

im not quite sure what is going on at the moment, but unless Bayern have some interest in Khedira or Lars bender or someone of significant talent, I do not see them selling Martinez who is integral to their team.

IMO we are still a player short after buying a DM and CB, and that player for me is Reus, if we manage to land him, a DM and CB then we can genuinely contend on all fronts, otherwise we are relying on some pretty injury plagued players to lead us to silverware

Dick's out!
At last. Is this just the beginning of the very much needed clear out of past-it, has-been, never-we're, ne'er-do-wells that are sucking our club into mediocrity.

About ten transfer windows too late but at least Sick Law has had the decency to acknowledghis abject failure.

Wenger next, Kroenke and his cronies too.

Demarai Grey.
That's who we should buy, not Mahrez.

Could be as good as Dele Alii has become.

Max Farnham

1.) 16 Jul 2017 18:08:47
We have Nelson, will be bettwr.

2.) 17 Jul 2017 04:19:06
Grey is all flash and little substance. At the moment there isn't much to suggest he'll be great. Rather give Iwobi more minutes.

13 Jun 2017 08:02:49
I read that Spuds are possibly in for Demarai Gray from Leicester. I'd be hugely disappointed if so, as I think he is tailor-made as an Arsenal player. Another Dele Alii type signing.

Be interesting to see how Poch improves Spurs this summer without getting involved in all the superstar speculation or spending a fortune.
Hes done a brilliant job so far but can be keep finding the players to improve Totenham season after season? Obviously hope not but I wouldn't be against it either.
I do like the way he stays out the lime light and quitely goes about his business.

2.) 13 Jun 2017 09:31:07
Spurs are in a unique possition where they don't need much. Trying to keep their players is the main job.

3.) 13 Jun 2017 10:01:29
trippier ready made replacement for walker. they need a top class wide man. douglas costa would be great for them.

4.) 13 Jun 2017 10:20:21
They are also in the unique position of having a lot of very good players in depth but very few superstars where people are beating thier door down to get them and those who would be highly sort after like Kane seem very happy and committed.
Very good squad with very good attitude and little if any if any player who fail to deliver a decent performance in almost all games.
They don't have too many absolutely brilliant individuals but they do have an excellent team and squad Sanogo mate.
We could do worse than look at thier model and learn from it, starting with letting players go who have been around to long and are accustomed to 4th place chasing as success, if we can break up the cosy club and bring in some really hungry determined if if not the most outstanding individual players to replace them we will have had a good summer in my opinion.
I don't think there is a quick fix that can see us become a real premier league force over one summer but I do think we can lay some solid foundations for the season after next.

5.) 13 Jun 2017 10:46:47
The 'Gray' Spuds are after is Dorian. They are just looking for a safe place to hide the mirror.

6.) 13 Jun 2017 14:17:13
I think one reason spurs did well last season is that they played players in their prefered position which increased cohesion among the players. Wenger must learn to play players in their favoured position, sign players to cover holes in the team.

10 Jun 2017 11:07:51
AsI firmly expect (but don't want) Sanchez to be gone, anyone fancy a double espresso as a replacement?
What about Diego Costa and Douglas Costa: both would appeal.

Max Farnham

01 Jun 2017 14:52:46
How about Sanchez and Ozil out for £80m and a, "saving" of £35m per year in salaries, and that bloke from Real Madrid, whossisface, in.

I know he's been injured, is debatable whether or not he's a first teamer now and had a sad part, made to play in a very poor second rate club, but that Gareth Bale has a few years left in him, doesn't he?

Max Farnham

1.) 01 Jun 2017 16:01:52
He's real's wilshire.

2.) 01 Jun 2017 19:07:35
Only 80m got to ask atleast 60/ 70 for Sanchez and easy 30 for ozil.

3.) 01 Jun 2017 19:47:44
You can ask for a billion each of you like but we will only get what someone is prepared to pay.
They are under contract for another year but there would be little point in Holding them to it as if they had to stay against their will they'd hardly be motivated.
80 million would be a good price meaning we showed a profit plus had 7 years service from them.

4.) 01 Jun 2017 20:33:02
Jelfy 60/ 70 million for Sanchez with 3 years on contract yes! With one year it's not going to happen.

5.) 01 Jun 2017 23:37:26
i would prefer mbappe to bale.

Couldn't agree more with SLB. Anything north of £40m for bellerin is good wedge, especially if we actually reinvested that with Lacazette for only slightly (relative term) more.
Maitland Niles, is a fine prospect and can surely act as cover for The Ox who we simply MUST MUST re-contract.
I'd say its good news for us as Wenger can surely then persuade The Ox he has a "permanent" place and function in the team.

Don't get me wrong, I like Bellerin and a year ago would have wept at the prospect of him going back to Barcelona, but the price, the "replacement" and the new formation dictate otherwise now.

I typed Sanogo but didn't check pesky auto "correct". Hence accidental reference to (nearly) Sanchez.
I do feel the players have responsibility for some of their own development, of course, but if the coaching didn't have any influence then what would we have coaches for?
As for Holding, yes I think he has done well this season and long may this progress continue. I suggest Chambers as counsel not to expect too much too soon.
And yes, bacon sandwiches can be a discovery at any time in life but (a) they aren't a £100m gamble and (b) whilst I don't know the author of the bacon sarnie epiphany, I make my comment of extreme doubt based on the last few years if watching Kroenkes business moves. Any serious move for Mbappe would be wholly out of kilter and in my view, as Wenger is nowhere near the pull of Klopp, Mourinho, Guardiola, Cute, or even now Pochetino, and with no Champions League to lure, I ask again why we would even think we are in with a hope of buying Mbappe for such a vast amount of money?

Risible to give any credibility to this "oh look, absolutely no real news to sell our papers/ load real click bait" made up drivel.
Why, why, oh why, oh why, would Kroenke and Wenger spend £100m on a 20 year old when they have never shown the inclination get even mildly close to doing so before and why, just why, does anyone think Wenger has the pulling power anymore. Look at all the talent that has stalled it's development under Wenger in the last 10 years. The Ox, Gibbs, Ramsey, Theo, Sancho (! ) , hell he even stifled the prodigious skill of Bendtner, and that takes some doing!

Being "a dick" as you call it D16 IS part of negotiation and it's entirely subjective.
I'm not saying I like it, but Messrs Law, Gazidis and Wenger ought to be well enough versed in this by now - heaven knows they've let enough deals slip through their fingers over the years!
When Lacazette signs for another club, slams in 35 goals and wins the Golden Boot/ Premier League/ Champions league with another club* will we have to endure hearing Mr Wenger mumble how we "nearly had him last year, except for the fact that we actually didn't get him" just like Kante and Mbappe (and even Ibrahimovic! ) and then blame Aulas somehow that it's all his fault and nothing to do with him.
* OK, it's not a give, but you get my point.

It's called "negotiation" guys! Aulas can do and say as he likes: it's up to Arsenal and our representatives to get a deal, not expect the club who has who we want to roll over and accept out offer.
Look at the deals Spurs Chairman gets for his players (exception: Sissoko - tee hee! ) .

We could do the same when it comes to clubs wanting our players, or are you suggesting that when Manchester City come calling for Alexis or Barcelona express a desire to sign Bellerin we should politely inquire "how much for? " and accept their kind and generous offers?

Actually, that feels like it is exactly what we DO do sometimes.

Agree with G62: he definitely can win and the answer is only to get 'em in early for so many reasons, all of them practical - "bedding" them in (they are humans and need to find somewhere to live, for example, they may have family to consider) , getting them involved in pre-season, tactical training etc and also as the later in the window the more likely the price goes up (it's a seller market! ) unless your target is not really a valuable commodity in which case, why buy them - so the "extra" wages SY talks about are potentially negated.
I was (and continue to be) a firm "Wenger Out" man, but it's based on reality (in my view) , not having a go at Wenger for any thing he does! It's little wonder the guy ignores the protests against him, if this kind of criticism gets levelled against him!
