Reports in the press today that Arsenal have agreed a fee of around £35m with N'zonzi, is there actual truth to this Ed's? Much thanks as always.

Lucas_Courtney

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have been speaking with Sevilla about Steven N'Zonzi but I am not aware of an agreement at the figure you quote. There is no reason something cannot be done however.}

1.) 12 Dec 2017 11:14:15
Cheers ed, would certainly be someone to beef up our midfield.

2.) 12 Dec 2017 12:02:53
I thought it was odd that he was in London and that he was not included in the squad for the last European match.
Would be an awesome signing, just the sort of player we have been crying out for. I would like to see us try and sign Fellaini to play alongside him. I am not a fan of playing smaller, technical, attacking players in deep defensive midfield roles in the current formation.

3.) 12 Dec 2017 14:41:47
I would actually like Fellaini in the midfield. Never really considered him before, but a bit of size and aggression is just what we need. With some consistent game time he was becoming influential at United. He would likely get the same with us. i'm game.

4.) 12 Dec 2017 15:13:30
Fellaini would be great for us, just what we need, a battering ram.

10 Nov 2016 20:17:46
Eds do you have any info on Hector Bellerin's injury? Much appreciated as always.

Lucas_Courtney

{Ed025's Note - torn ankle ligaments i believe lucas, he will be out for at least a few weeks it looks like mate..

1.) 10 Nov 2016 20:51:53
Cheers ed, that's a real blow.

{Ed025's Note - it happens im afraid lucas, at least its not an ACL or anything that would see him out for months mate..

2.) 10 Nov 2016 23:09:25
Looking on the bright side, I like that. It will be time to for Debuchy and Jenkinson to prove their worth to the team in the net few weeks.

10 Sep 2016 08:04:46
Ed is it true Carlos Bacca rejected a West Ham move because he wanted to join us, and if so were we ever interested? Much thanks.

Lucas_Courtney

{Ed001's Note - he did want to go somewhere else, but I don't believe it was particularly Arsenal, more a Champions League team.}

1.) 10 Sep 2016 08:23:01
Okay thanks ed.

2.) 11 Sep 2016 15:16:05
Ed with the subtle insult. Well played.

{Ed001's Note - wasn't meant like that mate. I meant he wasn't saying he wanted to go to Arsenal in particular, he just wasn't keen on the Hammers because he wanted a CL team.}

Sky Sports are reporting that Serge Gnabry is set to go out on loan this season, with Hertha Berlin making a proposal. For me I feel this would be a good love for Serge, he has real talent and needs precious minutes.

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 19 Aug 2016 21:40:03
I'd rather keep him. Think he's a class player and I Wenger doesn't buy a striker, he'll carry on playing Sanchez or Walcott up top, so we will need another winger.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 07:52:13
Agree he's class but in reality will be about 5th or 6th in line for the position. Really needs quality game time.

3.) 20 Aug 2016 08:11:41
If Campbell does go out on loan, which would be truly bewildering, then Serge should stay.

28 Jul 2016 20:49:03
According to Sky Germany, Arsenal are in talks to sign Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi.
It is understood that no offer for the 24-year-old Germany international centre-back has yet been made.
Mustafi has a release clause of £42.1m but Sky Germany understand that Arsenal may be able to sign the German for £25.3m plus a further £8.4m in add-ons.
Mustafi and his agent is expected to fly to Spain to discuss the transfer fee with Valencia. All sounds quite promising.

1.) 28 Jul 2016 21:07:58
I never feel like I can trust sky sports.
Whenever they say x team is 'opening talks for/ close to/ looking at x player'

I feel it's basically a 'place bets on our website now at this average odds for a player that we've told you might sign'

2.) 28 Jul 2016 21:22:08
That a bid hasn't been made yet kinda worries me, but I rate Mustafi above some of the other names being thrown around. Certainly above Stones for double that price, if reports are to be believed.

3.) 28 Jul 2016 22:03:01
so a defender would cost 40 mill euros? the same as what wea re planning as a max offer for lacazette?

rather put the 15 mill more and go for john stones.

4.) 28 Jul 2016 22:53:03
The trouble is, everyone knows we need a defender - immediately adds minimum £5m if not more.

Even at that price I'd be happy. It's another German to help keep Ozil happy as well.

We have to accept we won't ever be spending the BIG money, I don't see Arsene or Arsenal ever paying £80m for a player and I think that's what Gazidis has been saying this week.

Our targets have to be tempered - £75m for Higuain or possibly £35-40m for Lacazette - I'm not even sure we will get Lacazette after the comments by Lyon. I was against it as previous comments on here will show, but I'll eat a bit of humble pie and say £20m for Vardy at this stage looks very cheap indeed.

5.) 28 Jul 2016 22:53:08
You'd rather pay 50million for stones. Wow.

6.) 28 Jul 2016 23:55:35
Yes, a solid signing, but still not the commanding tall CB we desperately need. The good thing is that he can cover at RB.

7.) 29 Jul 2016 09:22:50
first of all the numbers being reported may not even be true.

but a defender is priority number 1. we do not need 2 defenders as some suggest, per will be back buying another defender next summer if he does leave then yes but right now we need 1 to actually replace him.

i really don't think we will get lacazette. as lyon will play hardball all the way to the wire.

and as the eds said about mahrez he has had an offer for quite sometime but he has said he will stay and its unlikely he will leave, regardless of what's being said.

i reckon if he did decide to leave he would have made a decision by now.

also leicester have not had to come out and make statements so i guess that's that.

May already have been mentioned but I feel like as fans this is our responsibility now to get behind Özil. This guys name needs to be cheered 10x louder than ever before in our opener vs City. What he's done has taken a lot of balls and he has been subject to even more criticism after his statement (Bayern presidents recent statement) . He needs to know he has support from us.

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 23 Jul 2018 13:06:39
Yes for sure It was a brave thing he done in quiting Germany and stood by his principles in doing so which in my opinion shows a strong character not weak. Obviously he will no doubt get some stick from the german press for a while now acalling him out for being weak and a quitter, but good on him. Wenger always said he is one that needs to feel the love so maybe with our support we can see the best of Ozil again.

2.) 23 Jul 2018 13:36:18
Hope the whole f'in country cheers for him when he starts playing the new season, this whole thing has me fuming.

3.) 23 Jul 2018 15:14:17
the bayern president sounded like a right douche! no mention of his own players also having a howler- muller, neuer and boateng didn't turn up at the world cup, ozil taking a photo doesn't make the whole team suck! i haven't seen gundogan recieve as much criticism, although i may of just missed it? but he also called him "my president" hoping we don't draw a german team this year, it could get nasty.

4.) 23 Jul 2018 16:28:01
Im a Manchester united fan.
I will be cheering ozil for his stance. Brave and courageous move y him. i'm sure all reasonable people will support him.
On another note i think you will be much better next season. You have a good coach it looks like he has had the backing promised to him and i urhe all arsenal fans to be patient during the transition from Wenger. It may take 12 months of pain which nowadays is not recognised by supporters and media due to the need and demand for instant success but i hope it goes well. I prefer competing with arsenal than any other of the big clubs.
Back your keeper In particular. Epl football is like a different sport it will take some time for him to settle but he is a very good keeper and will prove himself when he has had time to adjust.
Enjoy the season guys.
Ken.

5.) 23 Jul 2018 17:12:10
Özil Stats speak for themselves - assists and miles covered. He’s a genuine nice guy and needs outer support. Hoping he opens a can of wopass on EPL next season to show the world what he’s capable of doing. Stick the middle finger up to the national team if they don’t love or respect you.

You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay 'em
But you won't take the sting out these words before I say 'em
'Cause ain't no way I'm a let you stop me from causin' mayhem
When I say I'm a do somethin' I do it
I don't give a damn what you think
I'm doin' this for me, so **** the world, feed it beans
It's gassed up, if it thinks it's stoppin' me
I'mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly
And all those who look down on me, I'm tearin' down your balcony
No if, ands or buts, don't try to ask him why or how can he
From "Infinite" down to the last "Relapse" album he's still s***tin'
Whether he's on salary, paid hourly, until he bows out or he s**ts his bowels out of him
Whichever comes first, for better or worse
He's married to the game, like a **** you for Christmas
His gift is a curse, forget the Earth, he's got the urge to pull his dick from the dirt
And **** the whole universe
I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid)
To take a stand (to take a stand)
Everybody (everybody)
Come take my hand come (come take my hand)
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just letting you know that, you're not alone
Holla if you feel like you've been down the same road

We’ve got your back Ozil!

6.) 24 Jul 2018 07:14:37
Liverpool fan here, I just hope the whole premier league gives Ozil the loudest of cheers wherever he plays. The german media and that piece of s**t, the bayern president are just trying to make ozil the scapegoat for their inept performances in the world cup. What he has done takes massive courage. One can only imagine what he must be going through. After all he's done for his country to be cast off like this. Disgraceful!

7.) 24 Jul 2018 12:45:10
I hope we will play a German team and Özil will trash them with his superior skills! Uli Hoennes should get fired for uttering sh*t like that!

15 May 2018 20:32:22
This is probably bias but can someone explain how the hell Jack Wilshere is not going to the WC? He would have been a centre in CM for me and sky are reporting that Fabian Delphi is replacing him! I seriously do not know what to make of this please somebody shed some logical reasoning or light.

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 15 May 2018 21:16:22
I think Gareth is making some big calls and the right ones. Jack needs to forget England and conentrate on club football.

2.) 15 May 2018 21:17:16
How would you rate Jack's season? And the one before that? How would you rate Jack in Euro 216?
Ok they were all rubbish in 2016 but on premier league form what's Jack done be on the plane ahead of others?
I can only assume your basing it on Jacks potential to be brilliant and ignoring all other aspects including injury.

3.) 15 May 2018 21:19:47
He didn’t even make the match day squad for the last game of the season, so is he injured and he really hasn’t looked good the last 5 or 6 games.

4.) 15 May 2018 21:40:10
I think jack should concentrate on his club football and hopefully for us.

5.) 15 May 2018 21:58:18
I wouldn't take Wilshere.

He'd miss the plane as he'd be stuck in duty free shop loading up on B and H.

6.) 15 May 2018 22:43:20
Liverpool supporter just calling by to say that it must be really tough to replace Arsene.

Remember how difficult it was for Man Utd to replace Fergie.

Not sure about Arteta but I am pretty sure that Ancelloti would be a disaster.

The Napoli manager might be worth a look.

You have some pretty good attacking options but you may need some steel and organisation to get back into the top four.

Anyway let’s see who you get as coach and whether he can mix it with Jurgen Pep and the current Old Trafford guy who looks pretty miserable these days.

One bit of advice I would give you though which is most likely unwelcome is that you should cut your losses with Wilshere. Let him move on to West Ham or some other team at that level. He is not a top four player now.

04 Apr 2018 20:14:28
Chamberlain has just scored an absolute belter to put Liverpool 2-0 up against City in the Champions League quarter finals. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 04 Apr 2018 20:29:38
At Liverpool, playing regularly, playing regularly in midfield and being first chioce in Liverpools biggest game for years.
The lad made the only chioce open to him and if he was still with us he'd most probably be a sub for tomorrow nights game or at right or left wing back at best.

2.) 04 Apr 2018 21:41:22
If you’d watched every game where he’s played for Liverpool since his move you wouldn’t be clamouring for us to sign him.

Whilst he’s shown flashes of good play like he did now and then for us he’s still not the player he threatened to be with us.

Maybe next year will show if he can really step up.

3.) 04 Apr 2018 22:03:11
But he is a regular in the second best team in England's midfield Stoner mate and playing in a champions league quater final for the first time ever.
Impossible to argue leaving Arsenal for Liverpool has been anything but a positive move for the Ox mate.

He's playing the most football he's ever played in the position he's always wanted to play in and felft was his best and he's playing at the highest standard he's been allowed to play at so far.

When he left I thought he had to go because he was never going to get the chance in our midfield he deserved despite our midfield being the weakest we've had for years.

4.) 04 Apr 2018 22:22:23
Don’t disagree with him making the best choice for him and playing more regularly in a position he likes either or how good the team are.

He’s just, as he was for us, nothing special mate.

Let’s see how he shapes up next year though. 😁.

31 Jan 2018 16:08:40
Wow! Auba is a very good signing and coupled with Özil's new contract, today has been a very good day thus far. I really do hope at least one DM or defender could be added, perhaps just wishful thinking

COYG.

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 31 Jan 2018 16:24:09
Raver, Ellis and north east spur, so Ozil wants out and will be gone in the summer? LMAO, that's unlike you lot to get it completely wrong 😂😂😂.

2.) 31 Jan 2018 16:36:09
nobody else showed an interest I him despite his agent trying everywhere, so he settled for a massive pay rise and a place where he didn't need to try every game.

PS Sanchez. and zip.

3.) 31 Jan 2018 17:27:36
NES, Man Utd and PSG both showed interest in him so once again you are incorrect.

4.) 31 Jan 2018 18:25:31
Sanchez odd bod, Sanchez.

25 Jan 2018 08:29:47
Wenger just spend that extra 10m on Aubameyang!

Lucas_Courtney

1.) 25 Jan 2018 13:09:06
It appears not to be up to him any longer.
