There have been a few posts about injuries and 'missing' players.
Gnabry is coming back within the next few weeks, and I hope he will feature in the first team, as I belive he is one of our biggest talents.
Rosicky will not be available for the Liverpool game due to another set back, but he might be available against QPR or West Ham.
Walcott has resumed full training, and is full available for selection, though he is not yet fully match fit.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has not been training due to a slight injury, though he might be available for selection against Liverpool.
Ospina is back in full training, following his second major injuring since joining the club.
Monreal has a chance of being available against Liverpool following a minor injury.
Hayden played 72mins of Arsenal U21's defeat against Bolton, and is available for selection, although I doubt he will be selected against Liverpool. I do however, hope to see him against QPR, the team with the worst away record in the league.
Diaby is still injured, I don't have much information on him.
Ozil is still out, and is progressing as planned, and should be back for the new year.
Ramsey has also not suffered any setbacks, but will still be out against Liverpool, and he is also estimated back around the new year.
Arteta could be back for West Ham, provided that there are no further setbacks.
Koscielny is still out, both Liverpool and QPR will be too soon for him, he has a chance of being able to play against West Ham, but it is most likely too soon for him too.
Wilshere is progressing faster than planned, but will not be back anytime soon. He has suffered no setbacks. On Jack Wilshere, I was reading though (as I normally do), and I was noticing a few people wanting to sell him. In my opinion he is the future of the club, he loves the club, and I you remember, before his injury, was one of our best players. In the past poor form and injuries have been his criticisms, but now he has got rid of one, and I just hope that he can get rid of the other.
Well, that is the summary of all of our major injuries, and also a little post on Wilshere.
I hope this helps all of those wondering.

1.) Thank you for your update. I just find Wenger's silence on Diaby & Gnabry extemely odd.

2.) Diaby still injured? He's not listed on the physio room

3.) Thanks Joshua.

4.) Wilshere will always pick up injuries, sad but true

5.) I've never understood all this talk of selling Wilshere. Sure he's not our best player and who knows if he'll ever reach the heights we all want him to, but he's still a quality player to have in the squad. That he's Arsenal through and through is an added bonus!

Apparently Draxler was having a tour of the Arsenal training facilities, and was left impressed. Do you see him coming and would you be happy with him?

Joshuafish

1.) I really think he will be an arsenal player in the summer.
But with Walcotts injury maybe we could offer bit more and get him this month. Not likely tho.

2.) He is on training camp with schalke in the middle east, so don't get your hopes up. Maybe in the summer, but not now

3.) Just saw that it's Jan Aage Fjortoft who said he saw Draxler at the training ground. He is usually very reliable, so maybe my above statement was premature. I don't know Draxler very well though. Lots of hype, but is he good enough for Arsenal?

(Btw. I still don't think we'll sign him, but Joshuas rumour is more legit than I thought)

{Ed002's Note - So Jan Aage Fjortoft (who said two weeks ago "Ole Gunnar Solskjaer not interested in Cardiff City") is now sending reports from the Arsenal Training Ground? Perhaps he is hiding behind the plane that is all prepared to take Draxler from the local training ground around to the local doctor for his medical?}

Ed, who do you think we will sign in January if anyone?
Joshuafish :-)

Joshuafish

{Ed002's Note - I think the club will do the best they can to sign a forward will be signed and perhaps a wide player as well. Whilst I can tell you where there is interest, I cannot help with the names of who will actually sign.}

1.) Ed002, any interest still on Konoplyanka from Dnipro?

{Ed002's Note - Konoplyanka was subject to two significant offers this past summer - from Galatasaray and Zenit - both of which were been turned down. I expect to see Benfica and Arsenal make a bid in January, and possibly Fiorentina, Spurs, Manchester United, Schalke and Dortmund to look to the player.}

03 Jan 2014 00:10:51
Lots of websites saying Arsenal are preparing a 32 million pound bid for Diego Costa. Please be true.
Ed is there any truth?
Joshuafish
:-)

Joshuafish

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are one of the clubs with an interest in Costa. Chelsea, Dortmund and Monaco are also interested but there will be concerns over leaving Spain in January. He is keen to go to the World Cup and has opted to play for Spain not Brazil. The concern is that if he leaves Spain he will perhaps lose that opportunity.}

What a result! Great game too! We did the same to them as we did to Stoke, they looked lost.

I was just about to list all the players who did well, but I thought our whole team did well. Not a bad player on the pitch (for us).

Wenger's tactics were perfect. He changed them for once, and reaped the rewards. Maybe we will see a more common change in how we play.

If we play like that at Sp*rs then I think we will win with (relative) ease.

What do you think of the TOTY?
David Luiz is in there. Why?

Joshuafish

1.) Personally don't see di Maria either. Still does it really matter, no not reallý.

2.) 12 Jan 2015 23:00:55
Ridiculous.

Hummel's instead of Luiz.

And, don't know why Di Maria and Iniesta are there and not Gareth Bale.

11 Jan 2015 22:08:22
A few weeks ago people were saying we had no chance of finishing third. Now it looks much more likely, and hopefully we'll see United's luck run out (which I think it is), and (although I like them) Southampton will drop off.
I think we can finish third, and hopefully get a result against City. I'm think/hope that it will be a 1-1 draw (they've not been on the best run of form lately).
Score predictions for next week? If we play as well as we did today, then I'm pretty confident.

Joshuafish

1.) 11 Jan 2015 22:34:02
Only a fool breaks the 2 second rule.

Hold on, wrong saying.

Only a fool would write Utd off.
They won't finish above Chavski or City, but they will push us all the way for 3rd/4th.

Everybody says how poor they are, how weak they are, how poor they have been playing but, last time I looked, they are still above us.

2.) Lets not get carried away clean sheets at home to hull and stoke. We don't do clean sheets away and definately don't do them at top teams. One result doesn't change much, but one good away result against citeh and two against spurs, will be a good start but let's do it first. Then move to the next game. We have nothing to crow about yet and I am still worried about 4th.

3.) Josh mate I hope you are as convenient after the next two games, because that will be after two little real testers.

4.) Sorry meant to say after next two prem away fixtures. In that time period Southampton and man u have very winnable fixtures.

5.) Predictive bloody text "confident" that's what I meant to put.

Say we were to finish fourth, get to the quarter finals of the champions league and win the FA cup, would you consider it a successful season?
What do you think a successful season would be?
For me I think finishing fourth and going on a decent cup run in the champions league and the FA cup would be succeful.

Joshuafish

1.) 05 Jan 2015 06:07:43
A decent season would be to compete for the league title.

2.) Much like Manchester united this time last season a good season is now impossible but a brilliant second half to the season is possible even if highly unlikely.
We shouldn't under state just how poor we have been if we still consider ourselves one of the big four.
For clubs like Newcastle and Aston Villa our league position is more than acceptable with a CL place still a realistic possibility but I still like to think we are A very big club who have so far this season been nothing short of awful.
We mustn't slowly bit by bit lower and lower our expectations each season and that I feel is happening to us and needs reversing before we do really become Thursday night league happy

3.) A good season but not moving forward. champions league is a nice draw but most years you finish second you will face a tougher game.

we need to start challenging but we need a spine first

gk
cd
dm
cf

4.) 05 Jan 2015 10:50:18
And as I put further down Derby, you would have Begovic, Cahill and Bony as most of that spine then think we are going to challenge.

Seriously?

5.) I said cahill when he moved from bolton 4 years ago? wenger said he wasnt worth 12mill. he was worth double looking back. at the time we all knew he should pay it.

my spine would be for now
begovic
alderwiereld
wanyama
benteke

what would yours be red dog

6.) 05 Jan 2015 11:28:00
Begovic is better than szcz
Cahill is better than mert
Bony is better than welbz and giroud

Ergo we would probably be better!

7.) Thanks AG

8.) AG, Cahill has been terrible this season, and thus the reason why most Chelsea fans want Zouma to start over him.

9.) 05 Jan 2015 13:57:30
Haha if cahill is terrible what does that make mertesacker!
Ok, let's have zouma instead he was affordable and available to us!
Deluded

10.) 05 Jan 2015 14:56:25
So what happened to the awesome Cahill and Bony. lol.

Alderweireld, Subotic, Hummels, Van Dijk, and Varane are all players I like and bar Alderweireld all reportedly available. Mangala would have been my first choice next to Koscielny but that ship has sailed and he will be awesome for City.

We need for the here and now so in reality Subotic would be good for me.

DM for me Schneiderlin, Bender or Wanyama. Pogba and Javi Martinez are hugely unlikely. They are all upgrades on what we have. With of the realistic options Schneiderlin probably the most complete. Either of the other two would do it though.

Striker, quite simply Higuian. Knows how to finish. Although I think with our interchangeable front three of Welbeck, Sanchez and Walcott we are not that shabby and neither Benteke, Bony or in fact Giroud offer that much movement or pace.

Goal keeper I have a feeling that Ospina will turn out to be a good buy and should start next game up without a doubt. Szczesny needs a kick up the butt. So I don't see the need to replace unless in a run of games Ospina looks woeful. But let's see.

To be honest, as much as I like Mertesacker, Arteta and Giroud there is no doubt they could be improved upon with numerous players and as Matic makes Terry and Cahill look better I'm sure a quality DM would make Mertesacker and Koscielny look better.

Mate at the end of the day it's a minefield out there of who will make a difference and will we get them. I'm sure 10 different posters would give 10 differing spines to us but we are all no different in that we just want to compete.

The only difference seems to be what we think of Wenger.

11.) If benteke is slow then I wouldn't want to race you red dog he's very quick. Bony isn't as quick but his first yard is in his head. Benteke for me though bony misses a month every 2 years.

Goalie wise if them two are good enough for us I'm missing some thing

12.) Lol Derby and his players, seriously deluded, talk about a spine, there is no waynama or benteke or whoever, no you mentioned that's why they play for average clubs and look great. Anyone remember Charlie Adam? Liverpool always did this every season buying carroll, Downing, Adam, mignolet, and nothing worked for either of them. And now they are back at it with lalana, Lovern, and Lambert. People just don't get it do they?

13.) And ofc golie wise Martinez seems pretty decent as well, the few games he played kept clean sheets and dint put a foot wrong.

14.) The hood iv never said charlie adam he's terrible. Every liverpool fan wanted bony they got mario lol

When kompany signed for 4mill he was over looked now he's a superstar. I believe wanyama will get better and better. When him and schinerlin go they will drop like a stone

Drogba has told jose to get bony. Surely he knows a striker when he sees one

Id love cech. Hummels. Martinez. Reus. Cavani. But won't happen

Id be happy with my picks but I fear the likes perrin and mario suarez will sign :(.

15.) Oh well since when did players start choosing thier strikers, that's a managers job, I remember RVP stating Ben Arfa is a great addition to arsenal and now look where he has ended up and doesn't even get minutes at hull. Kompany was always going to turn out good, and the same can also be said about Kosc, who when bought no one heard off. And as far as I can tell you Mario is miles better than Bony, there is a reason he plays only for top clubs while Bony doesnt, last season I am sure you would have gone nuts over Lukaku, 30 million for him everton had to spend and we can see what is happening.

{Ed001's Note - Ben Arfa can't get minutes at Hull, they sent him back to Newcastle who tore up his contract. He is about to sign for OGC Nice.}

03 Jan 2015 12:05:12
I think Arsenal's ultimate downfall will be if we rush getting rid of Wenger, and don't have a suitable replacement lined up. There's not many good managers available right now, and Wenger has bought stability to the club.

We should organise a manager to come in at the end of this season or next, and not rush into getting a manager.

Just my opinion.
Joshuafish

Joshuafish

1.) 03 Jan 2015 13:08:33
Rush!. I would take a tin of sardines as a replacement and will very likely to do a better job.
The logic is: No plan is better than a bad plan.

2.) I would think the board have a few irons in the fire regarding wengers future replacement but it wouldn't make sense to reveal in public even if it is a 2 year plan. It would publicly undermine the manager. I think keeping wenger in some capacity at the club would be great with a new manager focusing on team selection coaching and tactics

3.) 03 Jan 2015 13:52:55
Normally: I would be in total agreement, however: This man is making diabolical decisions, the like of which I have not seen from a third division manger.
Keeping him in the club at some capacity. what would that be and how is it going to stop him meddling? I can not see a sensible manger would take this position, knowing this idiot is looking over his shoulder.

I think Cazorla would play on the right, as Walcott is out. Cazorla is too good for the bench.

I'd agree that Sanchez is signing of the season, but I think that he'd go for more than £50million. If he leaves us, which I doubt he will, it'd be for a Bale/Suarez like fee.

I've seen him play, both for Sevilla and Remis, and he's very good. Very tall, very physical, still quite young, so he's got time to improve. He's not a bad distributor of the ball either. I'd probably prefer Schneiderlin to him, but if he is not available, then I think he could be a great shout.

By the way, sorry for only calling him 'him', but his name is a real bother.
