Hi Ed002, Are Arsenal interested in Alexander Isak?

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Alexander Isak (S) Newcastle have no intention of selling Isak but it is likely either Isak or Bruno Guimaraes may need to be sold. Down the list of targets for Arsenal.}

1.) 24 Mar 2024 10:56:41
Thanks for all your work, Ed002! Can I ask, is Gyokeres the first-choice target?

{Ed002's Note - No. He will likely be priced out of a move and there is a little something else in the pipeline at Sporting that could impact his future.}

Hi Ed002, Great updates on Mbappe and Sesko. Has anything changed on Victor Osimhen?

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - He will almost certainly join Chelsea in the summer.}

1.) 18 Feb 2024 12:41:40
Ed002 what is the latest on toney? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed as far as I know. He will almost certainly move in the summer.}

Hi Ed002, Are Arsenal interested in Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna?
Any insights would be helpful!

Cheers!

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Joshua Zirkzee (S) Manchester United had a third-party scout watch him in a game against Roma in December. Milan has declared an interest knowing Giroud is coming to the end of his contract buyt don't know if Zirkee will match his goal tally. Bayern Munich have an option to buy the player back but will likely not be interested in following up on it.}

Hello Ed002, A happy new year to you mate. I wanted to ask you about our potential targets for January in the attacking positions. Wide players (Neto, Nico Williams) or Strikers (Toney, Vlahovic) - Which position and players are we prioritizing?

Also, How much of this is dependent on the sales of Eddie, Smith Rowe, and Ramsdale as you mentioned?

Thanks as always for your insights.
Cheers.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - I would not expect anything significant in the winter. Neto may be possible, you can forget Williams.

Dusan Vlahovic (S) Only joined in January 2022 but financial issues that Juventus now have and goalscoring problems will determine that he is sold in the summer – but they will hold out for €70M. Regardless of his loss of form, there will be a lot of interest if he is and his agent has approached Manchester United, Chelsea and PSG. Real Madrid are also keen but, like Chelsea, have preferred targets. Chelsea were open to an exchange of players last summer but right now there is no push as his wage demands are seen as excessive and they will look to other targets first. PSG have him as a possible Mbappe replacement - but not first choice - but don't lose sight of them. As a wildcard, Atletico Madrid or Arsenal may rekindle interest but would likely want to include players in any deal. Juventus have already drawn up a list of potential replacements and are working on those even though he has signed a new contract. A move seems unlikely in January.
Ivan Toney (S) Brentford do not want to sell but are aware Toney may look to move up a step and will reluctantly look to perhaps £70M as a sale price in the summer but will price him far higher to try to avoid a January sale. Newcastle - if they can sell their project to him given - offer the chance of a return to the club who previously could find no use for him in the three years he was there. Arsenal, Leeds, Manchester United, Spurs, Chelsea and West Ham have all sent scouts on more than one occasion to watch him prior to his ban. Arsenal and Chelsea may well start talks ahead of January, but Chelsea have preferred options meaning Arsenal are likely best placed to complete a transfer but Brentford will want to wait until the summer. A wildcard might be Spurs.

Arsenal may look to a DM and a CB in January - possibly a S.}

1.) 04 Jan 2024 10:17:44
Thanks for your reply Ed002. Great insight. Interesting that Neto is possible. Would it mean one (or more) of Smith-Rowe, Eddie and Nelson moving on? Who are showing interest in these players?

{Ed002's Note - Books need to be balanced and players will be leaving. Neto would need to prove his fitness so the summer is a more likely time for a move.}

2.) 07 Jan 2024 01:16:25
Ed, who would you rather Arsenal push for out of Toney or Vlahovic seeing as they could each cost a similar fee or do you have another forward in mind you’d like arsenal to go for?

{Ed002's Note - I doubt either are available this month, in part because their preferred replacements will not be available this month so there would need to be a huge financial premium to pay.}

Hi Ed002, Are we interested in Barella?

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Nicolo Barella (CM) Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid have had approaches turned away. Don't be surprised of a significant offer from Newcastle or PSG or a further approach from Real Madrid - but Inter don't wish to sell and would no doubt demand something towards €100M or so. Liverpool or Spurs may show an interest but Inter have not been approached by either although they have sent scouts. The player does not wish to leave and is expected to sign a new contract. Long term interest of Chelsea went with the player wanting to stay in Italy - although they could yet try to persuade him otherwise and have spoken with Ale Beltrami who acts as an intermediary. Beltrami has also poken with Manchester City. Wildcard may be an approach form Manchester United who have instructed a third party to enquire on their behalf. Arsenal may look to Barella but would need Partey to depart and perhaps offer balogun as part of the deal - seems unlikely. Newcastle seem a less likely solution. }

Hi Ed001, I am interested in knowing what you think about Declan Rice and where he fits in our midfield. If you could touch on his aspects as a player on the field as well as off-the field? Your views are taken very seriously on this page, Ahaha, I thought it is worthwhile asking you!

hope you are well mate! Cheers in Advance.

IndianGooner

{Ed001's Note - i think the easiest way to answer is this: Declan Rice profile I did a few weeks ago.}

1.) 20 Jul 2023 13:47:59
Great Read. Something I read everywhere is how he is mentally solid. He will fill that Xhaka-shaped void with this at least. He also enables us to attack more by taking so many defensive responsibilities. I am quite excited about this one!
Thanks Ed001!

{Ed001's Note - he is a great buy, though expensive sometimes you have to pay for quality.}

2.) 20 Jul 2023 21:21:46
Great read thanks.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

Hi Ed001, What do you think about Kai Havertz? Is he a good signing for Arsenal?

IndianGooner

{Ed001's Note - if Arteta can harness him and get him to play at his best, then he could be. I fear for him though as he is very Ozil like in his play and he was crucified for being lazy, even when he wasn't. Havertz is smooth, he never looks like he is putting in effort and he is not one to chase around like English football fans like to see from a player. Ability is there, but I am not sure he is suited to a high press. I don't really understand the signing to be honest as you already have Odegaard that plays a very similar role.}

1.) 21 Jun 2023 19:29:08
Just an old Chelsea supporters view.

I always compared him to George (stroller) Graham.

The lad has a touch of class about him. He enjoys coming short and is very good on the half turn. He will play well alongside another forward but definitely isn’t an instinctive CF.

His casual approach can sometimes get him into trouble but he is young enough to learn from a good coach.

I am sorry to see him leave.

2.) 21 Jun 2023 21:48:28
Thanks for your insight Tom :)

3.) 21 Jun 2023 21:55:46
Some fans not happy about Kai Havertz because of his performance at Chelsea, not all players suit a certain club and system, Salah and Kevin De Bruyne didn’t do great at Chelsea and how did they do at another premier league club?

4.) 22 Jun 2023 07:35:33
He’s to much like Ozil, I feel if he plays there will be no press and will be like playing with ten men again like it was with Ozil doesn’t suit the premiership in my opinion.

5.) 22 Jun 2023 10:32:09
Ed01, you think perhaps he'll be used as a Xhaka replacement? He may actually suit that attacking midfield position. Otherwise, like you, I don't get this transfer either.

{Ed001's Note - that is a good shout. You might be right on that actually, I never thought of it.}

6.) 22 Jun 2023 12:01:44
Probably looking at Odegaard to revert into the Xhaka role and Havertz playing the 10.

7.) 23 Jun 2023 10:11:26
Ed001, just to add to this, what do you think of Odegaard as a player?

{Ed001's Note - he is ok. Like Havertz though he lacks the ability to really take a difficult game by the scruff of the neck or when things are going against the team to turn it in the team's favour. I just think he lacks that drive to really reach the heights. He is nice to watch play, but needs more aggression and desire. I would say he is a bit soft. You wouldn't want him in the trenches with you as he lacks that fight of say Vieira.}

8.) 29 Jun 2023 19:28:41
Spot on Ed. He disappears in key games and can’t really perform in tight games. Just seems to lack something. However still a quality player and time on his side. KDB is a monster step up in my book compared to Ode.

Ode had a great season but you need him to deliver away to City.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair not many are in the same class as De Bruyne.}

01 Sep 2022 13:23:04
Ed001, What do you think of Douglas Luiz as a player and his fit if he moves to Arsenal?

IndianGooner

{Ed001's Note - I am not a big fan, he is one of those players that turns up a couple of times a season and the rest of the time he is very average imo. On his day he is good but not exactly world class. Maybe he just needs better players around him, but I don't see how he would be a good fit for Arsenal.}

1.) 01 Sep 2022 16:18:25
Completely agree Ed. Not overwhelmed with this signing to be honest…better out there that’s gettable I think.

{Ed001's Note - maybe they aren't gettable in the time that is left? Or maybe it is about being friendly with the right Brazilians?}

2.) 01 Sep 2022 17:38:01
That’s probably it Ed we may have left it to late to fill this position which sucks. Who would you prefer…Tielemens or Luiz?

I do like the Brazilian connection we’re building. seems to have worked so far (minus Willian)

I wasn’t overwhelmed with the Ramsdale signing at the time either but I’ve been happily proved wrong about that one 100% so here’s hoping
❤️?.

{Ed001's Note - it is not much of a choice. Tielemans is great in highlight reels as he does nice showy things a couple of times a game, but overall his game is weak. I think I would prefer to give the minutes to a kid out the youth team as he might at least develop into a good enough player.

Why are you saying you were proved wrong about Ramsdale? He is still abysmal but just shows 'pashun' and for some reason you all ignore his constant flaps at balls into the box and woeful positioning. Maybe it is because he makes easy saves look like worldies because of his crap positioning?}

3.) 01 Sep 2022 19:29:14
? I know yeah…I wonder who our 1st,2nd n 3rd targets were for that position. looks like we’re scraping the barrel with this one, shame because we’ve had a brilliant window thus far. Just seen Chelsea signing D. Zakaria…there’s decent players still out there Ed ??‍♂️

“Pashun” ? Ed he’s been superb for us, I’m sure last season we had one of if not the best defensive record from corners I think, he commands that sh*t, his shot stopping is right up there no? He had about 5 saves of the season last year…he’s ninja mate!
You’ll be singing his name come the WCup ?…Englands number 1.

Hello my fellow gunners!

So a quick update from the last time I asked on this forum for help on booking tickets for an overseas fan (me, duh) for the North London Derby on October 1st.

Instead of doing the Arsenal Red Membership as everyone suggested, I am planning to go for the hospitality club level premium (First 5 rows, mid-tier seats) . They are on the clock end near the away fans from what I have read.

Any particular things to keep in mind guys? Is behind the corner a better view or behind the goal or above the spurs fans?

I hope the noise and atmosphere are good there because the site I am booking from claims this to be one of the best views of the stadium.

I thought getting a confirmed ticket rather than trying to get one when I book via the website is better because that way at least I cash into my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

What do you guys think? Any other good suggestions, pre-game pint, should I carry a bag, etc?

I will be going alone but you can not be alone really when you have 60,000 fans on the same team.

Needless to say I am super excited

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you, my guys.

#COYG.

IndianGooner

{Ed014's Note - whatever you do I truly hope you have a fab day and the boys bring home the 3 points for you. Enjoy IG.

1.) 08 Aug 2022 14:10:51
Hope you have a great day IG and always remember wherever you sit you`re always above the Spurs fans! COYG :)

2.) 08 Aug 2022 14:43:47
Hello IG mate.
Tollington Arms near the Sobell Centre used to be good for a for a pre match pint but I haven't been there for quite a while. Get in the ground and get involved with the pre match singing and have a beer is great. But whatever you do have a great day and hopefully the lads will do the business for you
COYG.

? love it Sussex!

4.) 08 Aug 2022 21:35:50
Have the greatest time IG, what an adventure ?.

5.) 08 Aug 2022 23:32:46
You get a corker of a view from wherever you sit in the Emirates IG. I normally go in the upper tier corner of the North Bank, but last season I was in the clock end for the Wolves game, and I have to say the atmosphere was superb.

6.) 09 Aug 2022 10:00:44
Sussex, BG, RSharpe, Sally and EG - Thank you for sending these positive vibes toward me. Thanks Ed014!

What I have to say is that, Funnily enough, I have been a poster and a reader here for the better part of the last decade and we guys might not have met but only you guys have truly understood my excitement - My first ever game at Emirates (hopefully, fingers crossed we win) and it is a big one. Believe you me I will be the last person to leave the Emirates that day, Soak it all in. Sometimes it may not be understood but This club means to me more than anything in the world, I don't even know why. As Stuart would say "This is my effing football club"

CCMMMMOOOOOON YOU GUNNNNEERRRSSSSS.

{Ed014's Note - brilliant mate! Football for some reason does it to us all!

I think it's not to do with Tierney as it is to the system Arteta uses. Tierney is a beast but technically not the best on the ball. Tough for him as the role demands to create spaces and pockets and then pick a dart of a pass in transition into the attacking third, something KT just can't do. but a top bloke and will make whichever team he goes to much better.

He has put on his social media that he would like to leave and has requested the owners to let him leave. This is more of an unofficial transfer request.

{Ed014's Note - I read that last night IG, going to be interesting to see what happens from here until deadline day.
