Hi Ed002, any truth in Al-Nassr bidding for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangadingdong for a loan with obligation to buy for 9.5 mill?

Also, if this goes through does that mean we would push to sign a striker in January or its unrelated?

This will clear things for a lot of us I guess. Thanks as always.

#COYG.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - It won't make a difference to whether or not Arsenal are able to sign a forward this month.}

1.) 19 Jan 2022 16:06:22
Apologies, but is it true that Al-Nassr are interested in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyangadingdong?

{Ed002's Note - They have proposed a loan.}

2.) 19 Jan 2022 16:55:29
Would Auba be open for such a move ed? I thought he would try to move to a top club in europe or in the worst situation run down his contract.

{Ed002's Note - financially it would be attractive. Spending the tail end of a career at one of the clubs like Inter or Manchester United may be a it hit and miss. Going to a high profile side like Barcelona or PSG means less playing time. He needs to think carefully.}

3.) 19 Jan 2022 18:09:49
Honestly, it looks to be a nice escape for us from the 350k weekly, let's be honest he ain't getting back to his best.

Also, Ed002, do you see Arsenal signing a forward on January?

Thanks for all the prompt responses in any case. Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer easily about the timining of transfers. If Arsenal can get a player they are interested in during January, that makes sense. If they can't, a knee jerk signing makes zero sense. Realistically, the summer will allow Arsenal to clearly identify suitable options and do something about it.}

4.) 19 Jan 2022 18:25:31
Thanks Ed, really appreciate your insight!

{Ed002's Note - I appreciate that.}

5.) 19 Jan 2022 20:47:38
Thanks Ed002, Brilliant Info. Have a good one ??.

6.) 21 Jan 2022 01:15:18
I agree with what you’re saying Ed. Well said. Hopefully we’ve learnt from past deals to be more calculated with this promising future project.

Hello Ed002,
Any truth in the Arthur Melo to Arsenal rumours?
Tried searching the site but got no results, apologies if it has been discussed already.

Thanks in advance.
#COYF.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Arthur Melo (CM/DM) Available - has not worked out in Europe. Barcelona skinned Juventus of Pjanic and cash and it has largely been a disaster in Turin. Juventus want to revamp the midfield with Arthur, McKennie, Ramsey and Rabiot all seen as surplus to requirements. All are for sale and all can be used in exchanges. The problem remains finding takers for the likes of these players who pull a total of €600k in weekly wages will be difficult - but there are mugs out there. Arsenal have asked after taking Arthur on loan - and that might be attractive if a buyer can't be found and Arsenal were to pay his wages. I am sure there is knocking on the door of St James Park.}

1.) 12 Jan 2022 16:20:54
Hi Ed, do you know if he’s a good player? Many players don’t suit different clubs but what have you heard?

{Ed002's Note - the risk is he has not settled at Juventus or Barcelona.}

2.) 12 Jan 2022 20:48:24
Dags I haven't watched much of Arthur but my friends, who watched a lot of Barcelona, raved about him. They were furious he was pushed out (they perceived him to be pushed out rather than unsettled, so make of that what you will) as they thought he was the glue that held the midfield together.

I've heard lots of comparisons to Xavi, but I think he was only expected to get better rather than be as good as Xavi already. Leaving Barcelona did not help his development.

If we can make him feel like he can play good football with us, I could see him easily replacing Xhaka in the medium term. As a loan signing with chance to buy, I hope he's more of an Odegaard than a Ceballos.

3.) 12 Jan 2022 19:54:00
Thank you.

4.) 12 Jan 2022 21:59:36
Was very good at Barca.

Hello Ed002, hope you're well. What are you thoughts on the news that Arsenal are looking to sign Dejan Kulusevski from Juve. Any information is appreciated. Thanks as always.

#COYG.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Dejan Kulusevski (RW/CM/AM) Juventus have told Spurs and Atletico Madrid that he is not for sale but if a decent offer of €30M were made that position might change, even as early as January as Juventus look to raise funds. Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund have enquired after his availability with his agents.}

18 Nov 2021 16:58:05
Hello Ed002, hope you're well.

With the January transfer window approaching. Would be able to tell us the players Arsenal are looking at?

With incomings maybe limited to only necessities, which players would we be wanting to let go?

Thanks as always.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - It will depend on departures with plenty of players available in January or the summer. Arsenal need to move on the remaining unhappy players and sell to balance the books. Arsenal will need to focus on a striker for the summer - perhaps two. Tough times will continue. Outgoings will drive everything:

Bernd Leno (G) will be sold to raise funds.
Calum Chambers (RB) a decision point of new contract or another Free Agent.
Sead Kolasinac (LB) Will leave as a Free Agent if he cannot be sold in released in January. Available but Lazio and Schalke interest may have waned.
Konstantinos Mavropanos (CB) Loan to permanent with Stuttgart.
William Saliba (CB) Marseille want a permanent deal. Player wants out.
Matteo Guendouzi (DM/CM) loan to permanent with Marseille. Player wants out.
Mohamed Elneny (DM) another Free Agent. Will be allowed to move on in January.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RM/RWB) looking for more playing time. Arsenal will try to keep him.
Bukayo Saka (LM/LW) Atletico have enquired after his availability and Juventus have have declared an interest. Arsenal want to keep him.
Nicolas Pepe (W) Not really working out. Arsenal will struggle to find a buyer but could look to a loan with an option to buy deal with Crystal Palace looking for a RW.
Alexandre Lacazette (S) I expect him to leave as a Free Agent. It has been proving difficult to find interested potential buyers and may well run down his contract. Offered to Inter and Sevilla.
Eddie Nketiah (S) Will look to other options in the summer. Bayer Leverkusen, Brentford and West Ham might provide one, Leeds perhaps another. Injury made a move difficult last summer. a decision point of new contract or another Free Agent.
Folarin Balogun (S) is frustrated at the lack of opportunities at Arsenal and his "agent" is again offering him around with interest from West Ham and Bayer Leverkusen.

1.) 21 Nov 2021 17:32:07
AMN I’d try to keep as well as Lacca

Saka, the ground would be burnt to the ground if we sold him

Pepe - no doubt Lille will take him back ………. for 5 million.

Hello Ed002, Just to put us Gooners out of our misery, Is there any little treat you can give us with 2 days left?

Do you realistically see us getting a new player in before the deadline?

Thanks as always mate!
#COYG.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal have the opportunity to sign Aouar.}

1.) 29 Aug 2021 11:09:27
That is quite interesting ED, Do you think our priorities are there or if we look to move on some players before the deadline, A RB would be our first move? Whilst I understand it is hard to speculate, it is harder to make sense of anything that is going on right now on and off the pitch.

Thanks mate! Have a good Sunday :)

{Ed002's Note - Unless Bellerin and one of AMN or Soares were to move Arsenal don't need a RB.}

2.) 29 Aug 2021 20:08:30
Anyone interested in Soares Ed? Would he even consider going or does he want to leave?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

3.) 30 Aug 2021 12:38:19
Thanks for the reply!

Just read about the FA investigation on an Arsenal player for receiving a yellow card and hearing rumours that it is xhakas card in the leeds game. If true this is just utterly dissapointing. I don't care how good/ bad a player is but this is the line and he should be banned from Arsenal/ PL/ Football based on the actual findings.

Man, this Amazon documentary is going to get some real content ?.

IndianGooner

1.) 19 Jan 2022 19:29:35
Got booked 86th minute for time wasting in that game. 2 minutes after esr had scored our 4th to put us 4-1 up. IF, and its a big if, it's true, it's not hard to see why they're investigating it.

2.) 19 Jan 2022 20:26:42
Who ever it was, why? They are on such massive wages they really don't need the money, a player in league one or two i can see the temptation even then not the justification, but on premier league wages, why?

3.) 19 Jan 2022 20:50:34
Apparently someone wager £60k sometime after the 80th minute mark.

4.) 20 Jan 2022 07:53:26
Yes it was me I had a gut feeling xhaka would get booked.

06 Jan 2022 15:46:50
Hello Ed002, hope you're well mate! With Allegri clearly saying Ramsey's exit is imminent, would you know which clubs are interested in him?

Thanks as always!

Newcastle - they love our players.

2.) 06 Jan 2022 20:09:57
Jack and Aaron back in the Arsenal cmf again, what could be more exciting ????.

20 Nov 2021 19:45:39
4 defeats in last 21
Same points in PL as Liverpool this calendar year
Youngest team in the league.

We have been worse. Chin up lads, onto Newcastle.

1.) 20 Nov 2021 20:47:19
We’ve also been a million times better - only looking foward to crappy games against mid / bottom feeders isn’t what I want from Arsenal. I want us to fight, press and learn - always make a game a fight even if it’s a rubbish day. Liverpool cut through midfield and defence with ease. Inexperience cost us but do did a blunt attack as who is afraid of PEA - not even the three little piggies wouldn’t be afraid of the once big bad wolf. If we have a blunt attack it puts way to much pressure on the defence. We then have no beast in CM which everyone wanted and no leadership in the middle of defence. It’s not the game we need a defender who tries to run the ball out of defence of smack 60 yard passes. We need a decent strong CD pair who boss the defence. Fullbacks made a few stupid skool boy mistakes.

Who is going to develop Gabs and White as they need help defending against to
Sides.
Who is protecting them on the pitch.
Who is keeping the ball so players can breath
Who is actually going to score against a top back 4. I’ve never seen PEA bully a decent CD. He’s lazy and not good enough to expose that halitosis of a defender because he gives up and doesn’t put them under pressure so mistakes are made / capitalised on which is the opposite which Pool did and no surprise that we are looking up to them. It’s these small differences all over the pitch.

Do you honestly believe this squad and manager is good enough to get top 3. I don’t. I have major concerns about the squad, leadership and manager. He needs help and needs to improve the squad.

2.) 20 Nov 2021 21:02:40
For me the CB’s have to be much much better . Our inexperience showed but will improve year on year . We have the ability to contend for top 4 I’m sure.

3.) 20 Nov 2021 21:35:10
Same old same old you will finish between 5th or 7th come may.

4.) 21 Nov 2021 08:52:17
I can’t see any of the very average bunch finish above us - 4th mate with your spud boys propping up the top 7 ?.

5.) 21 Nov 2021 09:19:26
Same old same old you`ll win feck all come what may COYG.

{Ed014's Note - raver knows that but struggles to accept it and any loss for us is like a shining beacon in a world of grey for him. ?

6.) 21 Nov 2021 10:24:11
Haha Ed - blow out our candle so their candle shines . nope their candle still not shining bright or at all! Is a tour of the Spurs trophy cabinet billed as the Middlesex History Museum? The biggest club with the poorest trophy return - a great title for the next DVD COYG.

{Ed014's Note - they really are mate and currently not looking that good against Leeds! ?

Hi fellow Gooners,
Can I just take a moment to thank Ed002 for the incredible insight he has provided us throughout this window. I think I speak on behalf of all the posters here (most of them atleast) that Ed002 your input is absolutely brilliant and it amazes me how much you know about the business side of the sport.

I regularly visit the other pages and I've seen the insight you gave in Mbappe for example and how Madrid would go all in for him this season and so many more examples are there.

For anyone who's stupid enough to post profanity against the eds, this window is a great example of just how invaluable his information can be. Have a great one Ed002 and all the other Eds who have helped mod this forum, cheers guys.

#COYG.

{Ed002's Note - You are very kind, thank you.}

1.) 01 Sep 2021 18:41:54
The only Ed you should be able to abuse is Ed014.

{Ed014's Note - I’d much rather you abused me than Ed02 to be fair!

That and I love a bit of banter! 🤣

2.) 01 Sep 2021 20:03:13
Hold on, don't make it sound like I abuse Ed002. I have enough trouble making friends.

3.) 01 Sep 2021 20:32:42
Ed014 normally pays good money for that sort of treatment 🤣 and I have to say ED002 has been extremely patient with us gooners the last few months, I think he’s actually starting to like us lol. Joking aside thanks to all the Ed’s for all the time they give up for us lot 👍.

{Ed002's Note - We appreciate it.}

4.) 01 Sep 2021 19:54:30
What is it the Eurythmics said

Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want to be abused.

Whatever turns you on Ed014 mate 😃😂😁😀.

{Ed014's Note - thanks mate 😂😂

5.) 01 Sep 2021 21:42:33
I agree I always thank the eds for this great site it should be above sky sports I think it tells you the truth.

6.) 01 Sep 2021 23:21:48
This site has always been miles ahead of sky sports Stephen mate, no pretence or sensationalism, simply tells it like it is, disappoint or please.

7.) 02 Sep 2021 09:27:14
I must chip in and say thank you too to the Eds.

To Ed02 for the regular and up to date catalog of info. It’s like picking your lecturer brain on a particular subject. Absolutely priceless! Scholarly.

To Ed14 for your balance opinion, a gooner and your love for Bissouma 😀. January is just around the corner 🤞🏾cross! Objective.

To Ed01 for the player analysis and general football news. Connoisseur.

Really appreciate it. Only thing missing is the app.

Stay bless everyone.

01 Sep 2021 16:01:32
Hello Ed001, hope you're well. Have you gotten any chance to look at Tomiyasu!? And do you rate him? Also, do you think he can do us a job at RB, which is seemingly looking where he'll play. Any insight is appreciated as always.

Thanks and have a great one.
#COYG.

IndianGooner

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen him play mate, sorry. Just had a quick look at his report on WyScout and they say he has been playing left sided centre-back or right-back mostly, so he should be fully capable of playing there.}

1.) 01 Sep 2021 17:02:22
I've seen a few reports here and there and his percentile for defenders across Europe show that he's much more a CB than a full back. Ed002 confirmed that on the rumours page too. What's confusing is he's the same profile as Ben white. And since changing the formation looks unlikely, I really don't understand where he's going to fit. Either he's going to warm the bench and we'll see chambers get a run at RB (which isn't exciting) or we'll see him get an extended run at RB which is not his best position. I hope this is an astute signing and not a panic buy. What do the other Gooners feel here? Thanks anyways for your info mate Ed001!

#COYG.

{Ed001's Note - sorry I couldn't help more mate, it does seem an odd signing though.}

2.) 01 Sep 2021 17:17:58
I think Chambers and AMN have proved that at the very highest level you get punished when you play individuals out of position, or at least in their second position.

Full backs are special-ist positions, especially these days where they are expected to be wing backs anyway. I fear that he is too tall for a right back and will get exposed, as does Chambers.

Certainly if I was playing against Arsenal I would ensure any mobile winger was played down the left to expose the fact we have a CB playing at right back.

On the positive side though he should help in both defending and attacking corners and crosses, which is a massive area we do need to improve.

{Ed014's Note - thank god you ended on a positive note I was about to cry! 😭😂

3.) 01 Sep 2021 20:00:30
Lol Ed. I think my posts have taken on a rather depressive tone in recent months. I think a decent performance against Norwich, including good performances from the key players, and we will all be feeling much better. However lose that game, and I think I will ask the missus to hide any rope laying about the house 😂.

4.) 01 Sep 2021 20:34:47
I’ve just taken on a new premises in Epping mate and it has extremely high ceilings if you need help 🤣🤣.

5.) 01 Sep 2021 21:35:39
What if he's seen as a Wan-Bissaka-esque RB. Just okay in the final third but more than a hand in the other 2 thirds of the pitch, he's going to help us get that ball high up the pitch and become like this bull in those thirds. I can see how Arteta can use him.

Hello Ed002, you mentioned in Jan '20 that we were interested in him after a move fell with Benefica (pen in hand) but his name seems to be missing from the detailed list of players previously provided
Do you see him as a realistic option for January for Arsenal?

I think he's a quality player and an upgrade on Xhaka in the long term.

IndianGooner

{Ed002's Note - Bruno Guimaraes (DM) Lyon, like many French clubs were hit hard by the loss of broadcast revenue and may need to sell some of their more valuable assets even though they do not want to. Mr Mourinho tried to take the player Chelsea on more than one occasion and sustains his interest at Roma - and there is a good chance of an offer being made. Chelsea interest has moved elsewhere. Arsenal were keen but opted for Thomas Party and have no real need to add another DM right now. Napoli has an interest but prefer the cheaper and more versatile Nahitan Nandez. At the right price Lyon will sell if they can find a suitable replacement - they may take a chance on a rising 21 year old who is being offered around at the moment.}

That's fair G63 mate. I think the 'young, experienced and homegrown' criteria in this case has superseded that of out and out ball control ability like that of Ederson.
Having said that if you look at his first interview he says that the reason he's gotten the POTY is because of his passion and that he leaves everything on the ground every single time - that's a very welcome attribute.

Also, he said he is very comfortable on the ball, even if he's not a finished article in that aspect - at 23, you would expect Arteta to make him better there. One can only hope.
