Hi Eds,
With Arsenal focused on Partley but the release clause being the issue have we not looked at or considering Marc Roca?
Its mentioned AM are wanting him as a Partley replacement. He seems a solid player and has a good pass on him as well.
Surely be cheaper than the 45M we need to pay for Partley.

I am just wondering how can we make it any clearer that we are editors to keep the page ticking over and check the posts to make sure they are not abusive etc than to call ourselves eds! To be honest, I've had my fair share of blows with Ed002 over the years but that doesn't mean for a second that I don't appreciate what all of the Eds do on here, especially Ed002 for his insights on transfers.
I think that comment from Stiv was purely just to get a reaction and I don't recall seeing that name on here either Ed001.
The situation of Marc Roca has already been clarified on here so it's a justified response.
I jump on this page a few times a day and enjoy the conversations that we all have so it would be a shame if it was ruined by a small minority of people.
Thanks to everyone on here for what they bring to the page, Ed's and Arsenal fans included :)

What are your views on the comparison of Roca v Partley? Release/ termination clauses are similar, Partley maybe more experienced but surely Roca is better investment?

Marc Roca is a TP replacement for Atletico who has interested Milan - but they have gone down a different route. Atalanta made an approach to Espanyol but opted for Muratore. Arsenal have lost out on their first choice and set their heart on Partey, but did have Roca on the list.}

Even with the current C.V. impact every transfer window is the same for an arsenal fan. Lots of rumours and hopeful names thrown around then by close of window we never have any of the players that were mentioned at the the start.
A successful window for me would be to see the below,
Ins,
Partley (swap for Lacazette or funds if Aubameyang sells)
Soares
Mari
Outs,
Sokratis
Elneny
Mkhitaryan
Xhaka (if we get Partley)
Chambers
I rate Laca and Auba so can't lose them both. If Laca goes Auba leads the line. If Auba goes Laca leads. Both have great traits and Laca can bring Pepe and whoever plays on the left (Saka/ Martinelli) into the goals.
If Partley comes in I'd rather keep Torreira over Xhaka. He is more versatile and gives us a different play for pressing depending on opponent.
Maitland Nile needs to stay. Been impressed with him get an actual run in the middle and he could prove why he suits there. Him sitting in the middle alongside Partley.

Bellerin, Saliba, Mari, Tierney
Partley, Maitland Niles
Pepe, Willock, Saka

Bellerin, Upamecano, Saliba and Tierney - ## like that back 4 and should be there for years ##
Nelson, Partey, Maitland-Niles and Saka # still looks interesting but inexperienced and sure the young wingers need good back up plus can’t be relied upon for entire season. AMN need better competition ##
PEA and Martinelli ## like that plus Eddie on the bench - trouble if PEA goes cold or get injured ##
Do we have a leader and a spine in this team still? Where’s our MJ?

It's good to see the loyalty to Maitland Miles. I'm a big fan and he has always been played out of position. Maybe he's not proving his worth in training so he doesn't get a chance or maybe the others players don't cut it and are always injured so he's had to be the versatile one 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ you don't get many players like that nowadays and I certainly think it's time that he was given a chance to show what he's capable of, in his preferred position.

Torreira wants to go back to Italy. I'd say he's one of the players who will leave. I'm expecting him, Auba and at least 2 CBs to leave before next season starts but who knows 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸.

Very energetic, but also inconsistent and I have my doubts about whether he's what we need. At the moment I can't really see what we "need" as there is so much uncertainty about who will stay and who will go this summer.

I think the lad needs a massive attitude change but there is raw talent there. To early to say will be one of the best but he will be a good player if he’s willing to listen to the coaching team.
Unless it was a nice offer that would contribute greatly towards getting a key midfield target then I wouldn’t move him on. Maybe loan for a year or clean slate, see if he wants to play for us.
Remember there was a time everyone wanted Xhaka head as there was no way back for him.

The problem with Luiz isn’t his it’s people’s trust in him. He can have a good game and amazingly he has had 2 reasonably good games in a row now. Mikel should of felt good on that then brought Gabriel back in.
He over played him instead of using him sparingly.
Game has been thrown away after being their to win.
