Hi ed002, heard anything about us and Kvaratskhelia? Can't see it happening but there's rumours. Thanks in advance.

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (LW) In late 2021 Torino, Borussia Dortmund and Lokomotiv Moscow were speaking with Rubin Kazan who said they were not willing to sell at that time. Previously the player had been watched by Bayern Munich and his agent had been hawking him around the Premier League clubs including Everton with, according to him, Leeds showing some interest. Ancelotti had been open to the idea of replacing Bolasie and Bernard with him but it was clear something was going on in the background. Remarkably he was sold to Georgian side Dinamo Batumi for a small amount of money but well beyond their means in March 2022. For 3 months Napoli and Juventus discussed a deal with his agent and on July 1, 2022 he moved to Napoli, giving a small profit to Dinamo Batumi. A move to Spain with Real Sociedad was ruled out. Paratici had originally identified him for Juventus and it is was surprise Spurs did not follow up. Roma waited too long to be a viable option. The transfers are potentially going to be looked at by UEFA. Don't rule out Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City looking at taking the player in a year or two and he has also attracted scouts from Liverpool and Juventus. Newcastle have a declared interest but a move seems unlikely. Napoli have no intention of selling and will offer a new contract - which I expect to be initially rejected.}

Thank you ed002! Have a great weekend mate.

Hi ed002, hope you're well. Just wanted to ask about any potential links of us with xavi Simons. Probably just paper BS.

Also not sure if you've covered this (checked the search function but nothing recent) but could you let us know about some potential links for striker.

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Xavi Simons (AM) Joined PSV over Chelsea Youth and having a great season this year. Gets first team football which he won’t do at PSG or Chelsea but PSG offer a route back in a year or so and a significant profit, but would like to agree a deal now. Any link to Arsenal is likely due to his agent - but it makes no sense for this summer, perhaps next.}

1.) 18 May 2023 00:08:08
Great thank you!

Hi ed, just wanted to ask if you knew of any alternatives to Mudryk that Arsenal are / were looking at. Thanks!

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Thurman, Trossard perhaps - and others I have mentioned. The club should not buy for the sake of it.}

1.) 14 Jan 2023 23:45:25
Great thanks. Have a great rest of the weekend.

2.) 15 Jan 2023 05:53:43
Ed002, with Chelsea signing both Nkunku and Mudryk and City having "accepted they will lose out" Leao, is there any chance we might be interested for him? The deal would be around 120 mil euros I understand. Milan won't let go in January i suspect.

{Ed002's Note - I would discount Arsenal.}

Hi Ed, just wondering if you knew of any names that could be considered for striker in view of Jesus' injury.

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Balogun possibly. Martinelli could cover if a wide player was added.}

1.) 06 Dec 2022 13:37:15
Thanks for the prompt reply Ed. Have a great rest of the week.

2.) 07 Dec 2022 00:29:21
Hi Ed. What do you reckon arsenal should do? Obviously we are doing well this season but there’s a long way to go. Do you reckon we should make a long term signing such as Vhalovic (only an example) , a short term (someone cheap over 30) or just replace internally such as bringing back Balogun?

{Ed002's Note - He will only be out for a few months so Arsenal should be able to cope without him and use what they have.}

3.) 07 Dec 2022 22:44:49
A few months is more than enough time to see a promising season derailed.
Ed makes a decent point about Balogun but we need to see progression there.
I’m going to say it again, go get Zaha on the cheap, play Martinelli central and try get Danilo done.
There’s no way we get any value for money in a January window when teams can see you coming a mile off for their prized striker.
Arteta will not overpay and would be right not to do so.

4.) 23 Dec 2022 02:39:08
Zaha would still not be that cheap, and you would still be reliant on Nketiah or Martinelli out of position. If Martinelli plays centrally then Smith Rowe comes in. Best of all options is to recall Balogun.

Hi Ed, was just wondering if we were still in the market for a striker. Only reason I ask is that West Ham are being linked with Scammacca and we should surely be able to pip them to signing him if we wanted him (as before) . Thanks!

Groger

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in trying to add a striker but I cannot see any chance of Scamacca being interested in joining Arsenal or West Ham.}

1.) 21 Jul 2022 22:13:02
Really hope we don't settle for the likes of Calvert-Lewin. Thanks for the prompt reply Ed002.

2.) 22 Jul 2022 07:51:40
I’d have Toney all day.

3.) 22 Jul 2022 12:04:21
Hi Eds, have we ever looked at Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic? Just had a marvelous season, might be a great addition + he's a different type of forward to what we already have. Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - No.}

4.) 22 Jul 2022 12:17:31
Ok, thanks again for the reply!

5.) 22 Jul 2022 12:45:12
Scamacca is joining West Ham.

Hi eds,
Was wondering if you knew anything about Ozil's contract situation? Is it looking likely that he will sign a new contract? Same goes for Jack. Both playing well!

Cheers.

Groger

{Ed002's Note - I try and avoid everything about contracts - they are not of interest. However, if Arsenal make a stupid offer Oezil may agree another contract. I can't help about JW}

Welbeck given Number 7 shirt at the store. Thanks for the good times Alexis.

1.) 21 Jun 2017 14:41:27
Another example of media spinning things and people being gullible. It doesn't mean he's leaving. Granted he probably will but this indicates nothing. At the top of that very same list was alexis with the number 7. They wouldn't have advertised both if he was 100% leaving.

2.) 21 Jun 2017 17:42:13
You can't buy a Wilshere 10 shirt, what do you think about that Sanogo?

3.) 21 Jun 2017 18:39:47
I'm having trouble getting this season Benzema shirt too, I've had not problem the last 5 seasons, I've had to settle for an Higuain home and away for this season :- ( what ever is going on?

4.) 21 Jun 2017 18:48:44
Ffs stoner it was going to be my one saving grace mate. Get his number on my back every year. In an ideal world we make signings that we need and Jackie boi comes back and does the business for the gooners. i love anyone who bleeds arsenal mate.

5.) 22 Jun 2017 07:09:56
Sanogo it would be fantastic if that happened and having been a huge fan of his nothing would please me more.

Sadly the games I watched him play for Bournemouth he looked a total shadow of the player I believed he was going to be.

6.) 22 Jun 2017 18:51:13
I don't believe it stoner the guy looks like a world beater. And no I'm not taking these rose tinted specs off.

7.) 22 Jun 2017 19:40:06
OMG Stoner! You just said something negative about Jack! You think you can just speak about his shadow without repercussions? Now Sonogo is going to have to keel you! Was nice knowing you mate.

8.) 22 Jun 2017 22:12:21
Jesus Sharpie, I thought I'd got away with it but you've just stoked his fire. I'm leaving the country A-sap! 😂.

15 Jun 2016 00:09:06
Don't see why we don't go in for Lacazette. PSG, Tottenham and West Ham are all showing interest as far as i am aware. Does Wenger not rate him?

Thanks Eds.

Groger

{Ed091's Note - ill text him and ask.

1.) 15 Jun 2016 12:51:36
Few times I've seen him live he's looked pants.

Anyone notice who's been starting up front for France? ;-)

2.) 15 Jun 2016 13:40:28
Did he reply ed091 :p.

{Ed091's Note - he says he rates them all as equal, like his children.

Hi eds, hearing that we recently put in a bid for Mahrez. Bit of a longshot I know, but any truth in it?

Hi Eds,
Just reading all this stuff about pep would be a perfect fit for us. Say Wenger does win the league, would him going upstairs and pep coming in be a possibility or is it just between City, united and chelsea for his signature?

Thanks!

Groger

1.) 09 Jan 2016 10:00:17
If Wenger were to leave at the end of his current contract in 2017, I do not believe he will consider moving upstairs. Assuming his health holds, I believe he may, if offered take another club job abroad, possibly at PSG and then manage the French national team. As Wenger keeps himself fit and loves the day to day work running a club side, I could see him managing at club level until his mid-70's. Don't rule out an extension of his current deal at Arsenal. He is taking the club into a new era, with 2 FA Cup wins and a serious Premier League challenge this season. Imagine he were to win the Premier League this season and follow that up with a successful 2016-2017 season, would he want to leave without winning the Champions League, assuming he has a squad capable of challenging?

{Ed025's Note - its called going out at the top RG, SAF did the same mate..

2.) 09 Jan 2016 13:09:58
I may be proved wrong, but I don't think Wenger would depart as a desire to go out at the top. He has stated that assuming his health holds, he would depart when he believes he has taken the club as far as he can. I also believe, he was wounded by the fans turning on him, as well as the possibility that now his marriage has broken down and his daughter has grown up, he may have other reasons, possibly a new partner, to be in France.

3.) 09 Jan 2016 13:51:13
Rg69, he will be offered a role uostairs. He might or might not take it. But as for moving abroad full time, no he wont. He's lived in the same part of London going to the same restaurants and seeing his same local friends for 20 years practically. He's settled. At most he'll take the France national job because that is practically part time. But I know for a fact he's settled where he is.

Hi ed, any interest you know of evan Ferguson?

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Evan Ferguson (S) Maybe an offer from Newcastle will eventually happen but they have other targets. Spurs are trying to offer a structured way forward for the player who needs to stay where he is for a while. Brighton offered a new contract which places him out of bounds for some years whilst the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea look on.}

Hi Ed, in this list you hadn't mentioned Raphinha but is he also a possibility? Lots of paper talk about us and him and remembered you said on the Barcelona page that they may be open to offers.

Groger

{Ed002's Note - Raphinha (RW/LW) Has struggled to displace Dembele or Ansu Fati but won't be sold in January. Perhaps they will be oipen to offers in the summer.}
