As much as it pains me to say it the spuds have a great chance of clinching the title, yes they still have to win it and they probably won't but if they do then good luck to them, at least they'd have something to brag about before their manager leaves and they do a Leicester lol.

Essex AFC

{Ed025's Note - you give with one hand then take away with the other essex, i know its true but it is easter mate.. :)

1.) 17 Apr 2017 09:43:14
Yes the spuds do look to have a great chance and a great future with a good manager providing they don't do what they normally do and what we do and that is sell your best players.

2.) 17 Apr 2017 10:00:43
Any interest from Arsenal in Gueye from Everton?

3.) 17 Apr 2017 10:16:10
Guys we would never hear the last of it. People will forget they finished second in a few years.

22 Aug 2016 10:48:37
I can imagine the answer but I'm going to ask anyway, is it true we've bid £41.9mil for draxler? Thanks ed's, fantastic works as usual.

Essex AFC

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, as far as I know it is not true. At least that you have made a bid. I have asked if there has been any kind of communication regarding him, but haven't got any answer on that yet.}

1.) 22 Aug 2016 11:40:18
Cheers ed, i thought as much tbh. Just out of curiousity how do you get hold of all your info? I take it you have sources close to arsenal and other EPL clubs.

{Ed001's Note - it varies on the club. Lots of talking to people involved in the game, agents etc. The best info is the stuff you get just by having a normal conversation though, rather than when you have to chase it. Some of the things that can be found out is very enlightening, especially if you are able to piece it together with little titbits someone else has said while not mentioning names.}

2.) 22 Aug 2016 12:13:52
So do you know anything on the arsenal front if we are actually going for players so for asking thought I'd try eds and great work as always.

{Ed001's Note - Arsenal are always looking around, but there is nothing happening as such that I know of. Arsenal have a tendency to want to pay too little, so they get all these minor deals done, and right now they are being very tight on terms. I can't be sure why, I mean there is defo money there, but they clearly do not want to spend it for some reason. So deals they look at are quickly given up on. Such as defenders. Mustafi, they get told what was wanted but won't go anywhere near that amount, not even near enough for serious negotiations. I would not hold your breath for anything being done, Arsene does not like last minute panic buys.}

3.) 22 Aug 2016 12:51:41
Thanks for the update ed - any chance of a potential list? We are all getting a little nervous
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - lists is more Ed002's thing, as he has a database he can just access. I don't keep the details I get sent, because a lot of it has personal stuff in it. I keep saying I will start a database I can access from anywhere, but haven't got round to it. My memory is not really good enough to do a full list but that is not such a problem for Arsenal as right now, as far as I know, there is not a lot happening. While Arsene wants a centre back and centre forward, all his attempts seem to have fallen flat for now.}

4.) 22 Aug 2016 14:20:35
Ed, if this is Arsene's last season in charge who is the club considering to take over? I know you said Koeman was a front runner, along with Remi Garde, but both of those now seem highly unlikely.

{Ed001's Note - far too soon now mate. They will have to look at who is available at the time. They do keep tabs on ones like Koeman. Henry and Vieira are always possibilities too, depending on what they are doing.}

5.) 22 Aug 2016 14:56:00
Good work ed, any interest in the porto lad brahimi? Rumours going around that we want him.

{Ed001's Note - I know Stoke wanted him, Everton are keen and West Ham like him. I don't know about Arsenal though sorry.}

6.) 22 Aug 2016 15:14:22
Thanks for the reply ed.

{Ed001's Note - you are very welcome mate. What Arsenal need is some movement in the market to open up opportunities to pick up players.}

7.) 22 Aug 2016 17:05:50
Yer but we never seem to do it I ain't saying go spend 100mil on a player but get what we need in even if 75mil on 2 but holding looks good but he ain't the answer at the moment.

8.) 22 Aug 2016 15:59:57
Appreciate the response, Ed. Do you think Tuchel or Schubert would be realistic targets for us? Personally I think they'd both do a wonderful job and both like to play the kind of football that us Arsenal fans love to see.

{Ed001's Note - yes, if the club can sell its plans for the future to them. The budget of Premier League teams makes them extremely attractive.}

9.) 22 Aug 2016 18:45:44
Hi Ed! Is it possible the club are saving money so a new manager can rebuild without pennypinching? Thank you for your great work!

{Ed001's Note - no, I just think they are being run to make a profit.}

10.) 22 Aug 2016 20:14:50
Ed, a belated thank you. Just read your reply and appreciate it. Sounds like we need some movement which seems a similar message to what AW has been stating

Fingers crossed and hopefully we dust down our wallets and spend some money.

{Ed001's Note - I dread editing this site if no one is signed!}

11.) 22 Aug 2016 20:40:26
I can imagine especially as we signed a striker who can't play for us, a youthful CB and a CDM who many say is a luxury. If we don't sign someone, you may need to close the site or ban Malaga and Steve et al
Sounds like you have your fingers crossed also.
If you hear anything - can you post it please?
Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - believe me I will if I do.}

17 Aug 2016 15:25:06
Please clear this up ed's, have we been offered James Rodriguez?

Essex AFC

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of, though Madrid have been trying to offload him this summer.}

1.) 17 Aug 2016 15:51:09
Can he play CB?

2.) 17 Aug 2016 16:21:27
Yhh quite well actually ;)

3.) 17 Aug 2016 22:22:27
Dont rate him and they'll want massive money. They paid stupid money based on what? 6 games for columbia?

4.) 18 Aug 2016 10:26:54
he was VERY highly rated when he played for porto, galway.

03 Aug 2016 12:23:49
Hi ed's, I just red that draxler has told Wolfsburg he wants to leave and was assured he could whilst he was at the euros so is there a possibility of us signing him? thanks.

Essex AFC

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any current interest in him. He has made it public to try and drum up some interest, so maybe Arsene will turn to him, but right now he has not made any moves towards signing him.}

1.) 03 Aug 2016 12:49:23
Thanks for the speedy reply 👍🏻 well I hope we do I think he could become world class at arsenal.

2.) 03 Aug 2016 13:24:02
i want us to sign a defender fast. season is 10 days away and we need a CB.

3.) 03 Aug 2016 13:54:19
As it stands it'll be holding and chambers CB for start of the season. Even if we get someone will they be worth playing in 10 days. Won't know the team much and tactics etc. 10 days if we signed someone today isn't long enough.

4.) 03 Aug 2016 18:46:46
He won't play Holding - it will be either Gabriel/ Chambers, Chambers/ Monreal or Gabriel/ Monreal. He might even rush back Kos like he did with Sanchez last year.

We didn't let Gibbs go so he can come in at left back and we can use Monreal CB.

I think I need Arsene to come and look at my shed, it has a hole in that could do with some patching up!

5.) 03 Aug 2016 19:31:31
I dunno. He shouldn't start holding but is Gabriel still not in training? So chambers monreal. Rather holding monreal tbh or give chambers holding a go. Monreal is a lb. leave him there.

6.) 03 Aug 2016 20:56:29
I tell you what 5kywalker, rushing back Kos is one of my major fears for the season.

Look how much it affected him, he even admitted he was knackered and that when he got injured, he came back with a fear that heavy tackles would put him out again, so he was more reserved when playing.

Kos, right now is probably the most important player at the club in my opinion.

If Özil is injured (please god no) it's a big loss, but Santi/ Jack/ Iwobi can play 10.

If Alexis is inured (once again looking at you god) we can play Iwobi/ Santi/ Theo out left.

But if Kos is out long term, I honestly don't have faith in any combination of the other Cb's to be consistently performing.

The problem is, I'm increasingly less and less positive about a CB signing and even less so about one before Liverpool, I just hope Arsene has learnt at least one lesson and our lads get a proper rest!

7.) 03 Aug 2016 22:18:04
I can't see a signing before Liverpool. He might prove us all wrong, but squad integration etc when we are off on a second tour tomorrow will be difficult. Appreciate Scandinavia is hardly the other side of the world, but even if they were announced tomorrow, you'd still lose 48 hours with the squad. That takes us to 7/ 8 days before first game.

I think what we have now is what we take into Liverpool, and Wenger will wait for the wheels to really start turning on transfers with other clubs, or pull out an Ozil, Arteta, Per, Arshavin last minute voodoo that shocks us all.

Hi ed's with Leicester bidding £20mil for Troy Deeney does that indicate that they are selling vardy to us? Thanks.

Essex AFC

{Ed001's Note - they were looking to invest in the team anyway. They wanted to add Deeney regardless. The Vardy issue is a separate one.}

That Reiss Nelson is one heck of a player, has such confidence in his own ability. He should be in the first team this year 100%, have him and the ox compete over that spot will give us great options through out the season 👍🏻.

Essex AFC

1.) 29 Jul 2017 18:07:17
Don't tell the ox that 😬.

2.) 29 Jul 2017 18:19:47
If he has a good charity shield game then let's see what he can do in the premier league?
I see no reason not to try him as long as he continues to impress each time he takes a step up.
Rashford Rooney Owen all delivered at a very early age simply because they were good enough and proved it time and again.

3.) 29 Jul 2017 18:24:20
glad he is seizing the opportunity. Watch out Bellerin!

4.) 29 Jul 2017 20:12:36
Sanogo three years ago, Gnabry two years ago, Rene Adelaide last year, reis Nelson this. The common denominator is.

5.) 29 Jul 2017 20:44:29
yeah I know what you saying Steve R, But this Nelson chap has something more about him I sense, not only did he show good ball skill but more importantly showed good decision making for the most part and had some good end product with some dangerous crosses. Yes it still pre season so we should not go over the top with him like he is the next overmars or something, but I think he deserves his squad number and given a go in few of the UEFA and league cup games for sure. As a tired fullback I certainly would not be too keen facing him coming on fresh in the last 20Mins.

03 Jul 2017 19:52:13
I know this isn't arsenal related but I have never seen a transfer rumour about Manuel Neuer wanting out, every season it you see rumours about Messi or Ronaldo possibly being on the move but never him. I'm actually surprised Lacazette is coming too us, Arsene must be fantastic at convincing players to join because as horrible as it sounds for this season it is a step back for him in terms of CL football but I guess it's about the bigger picture rather than what's going on now. I see the Mahrez rumours coming back but I hope to god it's just rumours, I don't rate him any higher than what we currently have and for the money I'd prefer Lemar tbh.

Did you see pep's conversation he had with harry arter about the loss of his daughter/ current pregnancy? Things like that do show me there is still some class left in football (reffering to that Ajax player who used his injured team mate to gain an advantage, if you haven't seen it then you should read it) it's a shame that things like that don't happen that often in football, I know fans acknowledge these things but apposing teams don't seem to.
On a more arsenal related topic what are people's thoughts for tomorrow's game? My heart says 2-0 to us but realistically 1-1 would seem like a good result.

Essex AFC

1.) 14 Feb 2017 20:08:53
We will lose tomorrow night and get knock out again against Bayern because Arsene never learns from previous mistakes against the same opposition.

2.) 14 Feb 2017 21:27:43
We aren't usually very wise in games like this. I hope i'm wrong but most good managers know how to beat us and they just wait and pick us off. Our guille is not the strongest part of our game. Its a two legged game and we must give ourselves a chance to still be in it at home. I am really worried about going two goals down, as we do, before we have a go.

3.) 15 Feb 2017 00:35:19
Spot on Steve. How many seasons has it been now where we don't play smart then have the impossible task then just miss out marginally. Happened so many times.

4.) 15 Feb 2017 09:49:08
Pep has spoke about arter a few times! It wouldn't suprise me if city put a bid in the summer!

14 Jan 2017 08:57:03
Just goes too show how broken football is if a player can just decide to not play or turn up for training, in any normal job you would be sacked. When did players have so much power over a club? Payet saying he wants too leave which there's nothing wrong with that but to just stop playing because they won't let you leave is so childish, he agreed to the contract etc so why should he be allowed to get away with this? I think they should get a ban for not fulfilling their contractural duties.

Essex AFC

1.) 14 Jan 2017 10:31:42
I agree it's filthy behaviour and I just don't get it - if you want an out, don't act so unprofessional in public - but, as I understand it, breaching contract does at least usually result in a hefty fine for the player.

2.) 14 Jan 2017 10:44:33
It's the clubs fault for making the fines so small. if your penalty for paying the rent late was only one pound you'd be paying it late every month

3.) 14 Jan 2017 11:31:30
Didn't bosman ruling come in because players whose contracts expired still couldn't go to teams they wanted to go to because the selling club would not agree to let him go without a proper fee, then it was the clubs acting wrongly now it is the players, just changing times my friend nothing else.

4.) 14 Jan 2017 12:42:39
We over analyse it because of the media spotlight! This happens in all walks of life. I don't think fining him is going to help. Any club who find themselves in this possition really should just sell asap and try and get the best they can in terms of money received and replacement . There's no point in dragging it on get shot and buy payet a tube ticket to Finsbury Park 😂

5.) 14 Jan 2017 13:36:53
Agree sano and chelski ought to loan costs out to us until the summer then sell him.

27 Sep 2016 20:30:42
For anyone watching Madrid right now I'm sooooooo glad we didn't sign Benz, he was through on goal and tripped over his own feet lol guys got less balance than bambi on ice!

Wow very detailed reply, thanks ed002. So we do have other striker targets in mind by the sounds of it, interesting. Wenger needs to buy a big name striker IMO as we have all the passing ability just not always finishing it off so fingers crossed we get an awesome striker.

{Ed002's Note - I have explained that Arsenal are looking.}

He reminds me of javier hernandez at united, never a prolific scorer but he scored goals when it mattered most. I'd like him at arsenal but I think anywhere over £30mil is taking a risk :/.

For me I think we're going to run riot today, I've placed a bet on arsenal to win by 4+ goals I'm that confident. I know form goes out the window when a derby comes along but there's a resilience too this arsenal team and for once in a very long time we seem to finish teams off and score plenty of goals.

I can see a first half blitz of 3 goals then second half just toying with them, I'm going 5-0 as my prediction!

The way I look at it ludo still had something to fight for, if they beat us they stood a chance of going through so why not go for it, 2 years ago and even last season at times we would of collapsed and lost about 4-0 but instead we went on to win, xhaka's goal was the defining moment imo if they had scored it I think we'd of lost that.

Tough 3 games coming up but I'm confident that we will win them all.

Let not forget Mesut's goal, he'd never of been in that position last season and the previous 2 which shows how much he's upped his game, best goal I've seen this season so far.

Haha he was just Kanu dags, doing what he did/ does best. Yes it's a shame we can't win like that every day of the week but hey it would be boring if all we ever did was win, you need a challenge else there's nothing too fight for.

we all called out for Lacazette but he wasn't picked for the euro squad so does that make him just 'average'? I'm not saying Perez will light up the premier league but I think it's harsh to judge the player before he comes to England, we could of spend 70mil on greizmen and he could of flopped so until you have the player in your country and in your team I think it's harsh to judge him.
I've got high hopes I'm going for 30 goals in all comps this season ;) may be a tad optimistic but us gunners know all about that lol.

Essex AFC

{Ed025's Note - i like your optimism essex..dont believe a word of it mind.. :)
