Arsenal are expected to confirm the signings of the Nigerian teenagers Musa Yahaya and Chidera Ezeh from Benfica. don't think this will be announced formally, but will go straight into the youth teams. Saw them play at the u-17 world cup, and they are decent players, with great amount of pace.

East Anglian Gooner

1.) Sorry to tell you this but neither of them play for benfica

2.) Sorry, they are battling it out with Benfica for the signing of the teenagers

Ed. do you reckon that we will do a deal for paul-georges ntep in January, considering the injury to Walcott? If I'm not mistaken he's a similar type of player with pace to burn, and I know we were interested in him a few weeks back. Thanks for all the work you do!

{Ed002's Note - A negotiator for l'OM has been told (yesterday) that Ntep will likely go to Borussia Monchengladbach.}

Chamakh to make the move to Crystal Palace later today. undergoing medical at the moment, and should be announced by the end of today.

This surely means that another striker will be coming in. I know Walcott and Podolski can play up front, but Wenger plays them as wingers, meaning we need another out and out striker. If Liverpool are right and don't sell us Suarez, i'm quite worried that we won't have a good enough strike force to challenge. Abel Hernandez anybody? Not sure how realistic he is?

East Anglian Gooner

1.) I heard rumours (from this site, not itk) that we might line up 40m Euros for Benzema - but surely, if we are going as high as 45/50m for Suarez, Real would just jack up the price - the same way everyone who sold to City did (25mil for Milner? 25-odd for Nasri?!)

IMO, publicly stating having 70mil was a huge mistake - just means clubs will hold out for as large of a chunk of the pie as possible (or, maybe we have double that, and saying 70 was just a ploy? hmm)

2.) Shame the boss couldn't get the best out of him. One that got away, the boy had talent.

3.) There is no chance of spending any large sums of money until we are guaranteed a CL place. Only then we will panic buy the leftovers. The club are just too cautious. If we do not qualify expect a lot of disgruntled fans to be calling for change. Only good thing is that there will be plenty of spare seats available. I think that the game against Fenerbahce is massive for the future of our club.

4.) We do not need any new strikers, we got the best striker in the world - BENDTNER!!

5.) Also Giroud :)

6.) Hernandez isn't good enough from what I've seen. Would much rather have Muriel or even remy haha.

I really feel giroud can be a top top striker

Arsenal are to release information on something on Monday Afternoon. A special media conference has been set up for some important information, maybe regarding a new signing. Any news on that Ed?

{Ed027's Note - Puma, the club hope to announce a few contract extensions soon

Flamini officially signed, now for the other 3 players to come in, and actually for us to spend the money that we have available!

I know some may know this already, but Thauvin, who plays for Lille, was missing from training earlier, and he has been linked with Arsenal. One for the future definitely, but a great future prospect none the less. Marseilles have been credited with an interest though.

Probably not the player that we need at the moment, but he could turn into one of the best players in Europe in the future.

So Spurs look like they are going to complete deals for Willian and Lamela in the near future, and Arsenal get Cabaye and Flamini. AW needs to wake up and realise that if we don't spend the £70m that spurs have spent, we aren't even going to get in Europe, let alone top 4.

I'm not calling for Wenger to resign, I'm calling that Wenger decides to spend the money that he has got, and actually start living in the real world that we won't win anything with the team that we have got, and that players are now expensive, and stop offering such low amounts.

Wenger has said in interviews that he is looking to bring in as many as 3 players. AS MANY AS. I think that it is perfectly clear to see that this amount of new players will not be enough. It has been well documented on this website that we need an experienced GK (Cesar - possibly on loan, could go down Sept 2nd).

A strong, commanding CB (Williams - 10m: bargain! What's the hold-up?),

A defensive midfielder (Most of these have gone now, but Gonalons, maybe Ginter, not Diaby, who has legs made of glass)

A creative midfield player (Willian - 25m for a player who single-handedly destroyed Chelski last season, and cost Anzhi 32m.)

And a striker (Jackson Martinez, Michu - JM is a phenomenal player, consistently scoring goals, albeit in the Portuguese league. Michu - scored almost double the goals of Giroud last season. I know that he will carry a hefty price tag, but his goals may make the difference).

This means that we need to bring in around 5 players. 5 players and we might stand a chance of winning a cup, we will still not have a chance of winning the league, so all the deluded fans that think we can, you're dreaming!

There's no point speculating about players that we're never going to get - Suarez or Rooney. Why on earth would they want to come here? I don't want to sound as pessimistic as I will, and i'm sure i'll be told to lighten up, but I'm not sure we will make it through the Champions League qualy. In fact, I'm pretty sure.

Our squad is so thin that you can see through it. Now the Ox is out, we only have 3 players who can play as wingers/strikers, that actually have experience in the Champions League.

You don't see this being a problem for Man U, or Man City, Chelsea, Spurs. the list is endless.

All in all, its time to find out who is actually making us miss out on all our targets. and for them to walk. This pathetic excuse of transfer dealings at Arsenal has to end, it's gone on long enough.

AW or IG OUT!

East Anglian Gooner

1.) Im sure they will buy. we can't proceed without any signings.

now that suarez won't be joining, it looks like we may have 4-5 additions.

lets see how it goes.

2.) I know I get stick for backing the boss, but u got to admit he's got bad luck. Sells Gervinho. and it's obvious that the Ox was going to be his replacement. Looked good aswell. Gets injured.

This is a bit of a strange one. A few months ago, he was lining up for Norwich City U21 squad in pre-season, and they have a habit of not telling people who they have brought into their academy (I know, living in Norwich and going to select games at Carrow Road - Games where Arsenal attend).

Not sure what the circumstances there were though, and it looks as if he either didn't make the grade at Norwich, or he turned down their approaches in sight of a bigger deal, with a better club (No disrespect, but Arsenal are a huge club in comparison), ending up at Arsenal.

Living in Norwich, I can tell you that ruddy will only be sold for around 10 mill, not the 5 mill suggested
