This is just a feeling but I think Di Maria could come in on loan in the next couple of days. {Ed044's Note - The window is shut mate.}

Davros

1.) This is optimism in the extreme considering it is technically impossible.

2.) A sorry that completely made my morning!

3.) Does the loan and free transfer window not close later (Football Manager style).

4.) 03 Sep 2013 18:39:52
Not technically true

Free's can be completed at any time as long as they've been made clubless prior to deadline and loans could be completed if the provisional agreements in principle are logged prior to transfer window closing

but its not going to happen or we woulda have heard of it by now

scottish goon

5.) I want this rumor to stay up a long time, time stamp in bold ideally

This is an all-timer

6.) The loan window opens on Sunday, it's possible but I don't think it will happen. {Ed044's Note - There is no "loan window" mate.}

7.) The loan re-opens next week for the Championship and below for English to English team loans, but not for Premiership. That is perhaps where you are getting confused.

Only free unattached players can be signed now, Not sure if there are any really decent free agents out there to be honest. They are usually free agents for a reason.

8.) Apologies, my understanding was the loan window was for anyone.

Is it slag the BFG off day today? Not sure why. 2 games in, he hasn't cost us any points and an able replacement is on the bench if he does. Calm down lads. He is a top pro who should garner more respect from his clubs fans. He's a million times better than Senderos or stepanovs or Cygan. Seriously think on.

Davros

1.) 22 Aug 2015 05:20:24
Agreed Davros, he IS much better than those you mentioned however, he DOES lack pace and the game gets quicker every season and it WILL cost us points! He has been a model pro but I think it's time we have Gabriel a run in the side OR look for a top quality addition.

2.) 22 Aug 2015 08:11:51
Please stop pointing out that Per is slow. It is not a useful insight. What's the next scoop? Messi is good?

3 new kits, 1 new player, tick tock, tick tock!

surely if akpom goes out on loan we will be getting some kind of backup for giroud? or is arsene planning on welbeck being that player. i think we are done in the transfer market now, at least for first teamer players.

Davros

1.) 04 Aug 2015 05:37:09
Assuming Akpom departs, we still have the following players for the three attacking roles: Giroud, Walcott, Welbeck, Oxlade & Sanchez. Ideally we could do with one more, but how we would fit them is difficult to imagine, as the five players mentioned are all worthy of being in the starting eleven, never ming having a sixth player.

2.) 04 Aug 2015 19:53:07
i agree robbie as long as they stay fit, all of them except sanchez have concerning injury records

21 Jul 2015 08:53:44
Walcott has undoubtedly been offered huge money to go elsewhere in a year. That is what I expect him to do. We are one of the few teams if not the only one that would let him do it. I just hope it doesn't hang over us all season and cast a shadow that holds us back. This is our year!

Davros

1.) 21 Jul 2015 13:58:09
Could see City wanting him as Navas' replacement if Navas fails to deliver again this season

{Ed001's Note - isn't that why they signed Sterling?}

2.) 21 Jul 2015 15:02:59
I read that they planned to play him across the board? Left, behind the striker and on the right.

3.) 21 Jul 2015 16:29:52
I thought the were playing Sterling on the left where he played today and were looking to get Kevin De Bruyne to play the other side of Aguero.

That has immense potential as a front 3 for them.

4.) 21 Jul 2015 16:30:10
I thought Sterling was to replace Milner or even Nasri who used to play left when he was a regular starter but yeah true it could be Navas, he didn't have the greatest season last year.

5.) 21 Jul 2015 18:12:15
If City do land de Bruyne, a front 3 of him plus Aguero and Sterling with Silva just behind could be massive for them.

Lucky for us, they don't have a single decent DM between them, Delph is not good enough for the top 4, and their defence is shite. Classic Arsenal, actually!

Theo is the closest thing to Henry :-)

Davros

1.) 18 Jul 2015 07:48:08
We either need to find out how close he can get or get shot this summer, he's not a very top class winger so play him down the middle or take the money.

2.) 18 Jul 2015 09:04:24
Unfair to compare the two, although Thierry started off as a winger.

Theo, in my opinion, is not good enough to lead the line.

Sure, he could fill in from time to time, but for 60 games in a season?
Nope.

Terrific winger, a proper old fashioned winger, but not a full time forward.

3.) 18 Jul 2015 10:04:08
But Dags I know your a big Theo fan mate but would he play regularly for city Chelsea Bayern or Barca on the wings?
I'm hoping this season both Jack and Theo will finally do what Le Coq and Belerin did last season and Aaron the season before and have a season that convinces everyone that they are the real deal not just more of the same hero to zero inconsistently brilliant bits.
My own view is Theo's only chance of ever doing that is down the middle because Bale Reus Ribery Robben he still ain't and doesn't look like ever being at 26 years old how long do we wait and hope on him mate?

4.) 18 Jul 2015 11:42:55
Look we can either buy a like for like upgrade on giroud (Benzema , lewandowski) and use theo from wings to play striker to change the direction in games where we get no joy. Or we can buy a quicker striker ( lacazette or aubameyang ) and have giroud as a plan b or play along side in a more traditional line
I'm sure we are going to get some good business done . I'm also confident that we will get someone that we thought wasn't on our radar and will have us all saying omg.

Absolutely right Melbourne. Our most consistent defender by a mile. No one works harder. It would be stupidity to let him leave.

Looks bad G62 but sometimes being too ill to play a PL match and being too ill to go to a trendy night club are two different things. No doubt the press will use it to try and unsettle the team.

Not sure he'll ever get a work permit unless he now has European passport. Never seen him play though. :-)

The most different goalscorers in the league proves we are not a one man team! Now pundits. they all read off the same hymn sheet. When employed to comment on a game that you are paid to watch, the criteria for experience should be based on games you have watched, not played in. I have heard some right drivel this season from ex pro's who know best! Arsenal being a one man team is just one of many poor bits of punditry this season.

{Ed025's Note - fair comment davros..

If you are on the pitch you are interfering with play. That is a fact. Offside is offside,Unless you are injured in a heap on the floor near the corner flag.

IMO We need a DM for that very reason. Lecoq cannot pass. He is a destroyer and able to play the short passes. His long passing is v.poor generally and this has always been the thing that held him back. We need his steel in certain games but in the majority of games we will need that and the ability to pass long and short. Another DM is a must, far more important than a striker. We have 4 players in the squad that have bagged 20+ goals for us in a season and plenty more that can chip in. Our frailty at shutting up shop did not disapear with Lecoq although vastly improved.
