Gabriel Jesus has had a medical at Arsenal ahead of a move from Manchester City, as they look to replace the non-scoring Alexandre Lacazette with a similar low-scoring forward.

Another player who has had a medical ahead of a move is Divock Origi ahead of his free transfer to AC Milan from Liverpool. I am sure Everton fans will be breathing a sigh of relief to see him leave!

Ed01 do you want to bet we'll score more than Nunez?

{Ed001's Note - I am not stupid enough to gamble, it is a mug's game.}

Hey Trish, how’s it going mate

What do you think of Jesus, do you rate him?

{Ed001's Note - not really, hard working, good touch but no, not a fan at all.}

At least I'm not the only one of the opinion he's not the 20+ goal a season striker we need.

I do hope he proves Ed01 wrong though!

I think it’s an excellent signing to be honest. His link up play is tidy as is his finishing and will only get better with more games. Think he’ll flourish at Arsenal.

Interested to know who’s getable to get you 20+ goals in the Prem without the pulling desire of champions league?

Think we did the best we could here.

To be honest Jeg mate I think we are punching in getting Jesus, I definitely thought he'd end up at a CL club.

Hopefully he will lift us up to the next level and show he was right in joining us.

Totally agree 62 lucky to get him I think.

Absolutely 62,I had serious doubts whether we could entice him.
Hats of to Arteta and Edu for getting the transfer done.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? It wasn't like you had a lot of competition for him.}

I read Chelsea and Spurs were interested in him Ed.

{Ed001's Note - right, of course.}

Proper windup! I've changed my mind - Jesus is an excellent signing. He'll score for fun this season and may even tangle with Haaland for the Golden boot.

Seriously sharpey, you’ve got your head so far up ed01s backside he’ll be brushing your teeth instead of his own ?? Jesus is an exiting signing for sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinion of course, but time will tell.
Betting is a mugs game for sure but doesn’t have to always involve money, so I “ bet” that Jesus scores 20+ goals in all competitions next season and my stake is that if I lose I will go on a night out with raver in the suburu.

My thoughts exactly G62 mate ?? as it was well rumoured champions league placed clubs were after him too so I think we've done well here. Could be a very smart piece of business at £45m considering Richarlison’s just been sold for £60m.

Ed who would you have chosen as Arsenals new number 9?

{Ed001's Note - Schick, David or even Toney I would have gone for as a striker ahead of Jesus.}

337, you seem like a chap that is in need of some context, so let me try and break this down for you. A few days ago I said that I didn't think Jesus was a 20+ goals a season striker. Today it turns out Ed001 thinks even less of him than I do and seems to be trying to wind us up about the signing. I wasn't being sarcastic; I actually don't appreciate the passive aggressive windup and I'm hoping Jesus does fantastically now.

I'll leave you to get on with watching Ed01 brush his teeth.

I was a bit concerned about us signing Jesus then seen that he scored 14 (I think it’s 14) league goals last season mostly from the bench, so I think a starting Jesus will score goals, he’s premiership proven too, personally I would sign Toney also because I think he’s going to be a beast of a player.

Your teeth mate not mine, and cut the big words it a banter site and that’s exactly what I was doing “ banter” the reason I stopped coming on here was exactly this! So let me put it to “ context “ for you.
You said, being pessimistic as always and before he has even kicked a ball for us “ he’s not a 20 goal a season player” and I said “ I bet he scores more than 20 goals next season “
My opinion and your opinion that’s it, main difference is that I’m an optimist and never put a player down before he kicks a ball in anger for us.
So have a wonderful weekend, and don’t be worrying that it may rain, or snow or you may get stuck in traffic etc… try and look on the bright side mate.
Oh and you may wish to wipe that brown stuff off, there’s a little bit on the end of your nose.

337, Seems like the reason you may have stopped coming here is because you're an *****.

I wasn't being pessimistic at all, just stating an opinion. No harm, no foul and along comes you, thinking you have it all figured out, calling me a brown noser. That's not banter. Trust me, I know banter and you haven't got it. Shuffle doing.

Might be nice if the club actually announce his signing before we all fall out over whether he is any good or not. Not saying we are slow, but Spurs seem to have wrapped up and announced the Richarlison signing in the period since Jesus was photographed at our training ground.

Interesting choices Ed, not sure about Toney but Schick is a great talent that looks like he’d excel in the Prem. surprised there aren’t more clubs after him to be honest mate.

We are waiting until opening day to announce it Epping, by which time he will feel like a new signing ?.

21.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 10:43:46
It's lucky no other teams were interested in Jesus. Raphinha and Martinez are showing we can't compete in the market.

22.) 02 Jul 2022
02 Jul 2022 12:02:12
You all need to calm down

We will get signing’s and I’m confident it will be a good window.

23.) 03 Jul 2022
03 Jul 2022 03:08:56
GH that comment is nonsense. Raphinha has his heart set on a move to Barcelona (as do most elite players) and Martinez might take the easier option of working with someone he already knows.
You can’t hold that against the club mate that’s just reaching.

24.) 04 Jul 2022
03 Jul 2022 23:49:13
RSharpe agree he's not likely to be the 20+ goal striker we need but name one prolific 20+ goal scorer we could afford and who would come to Arsenal right now with no champs league.

25.) 04 Jul 2022
04 Jul 2022 14:26:07
I think the one thing it isn't is a bad signing and we can prob all agree on that, whether he can be the striker we are all wishing for and go on to be in the mold of some of the great strikers we have had at this club I think will divide opinion, whilst I am sure we all hope that's the case.

but £45 million does not seem a bad price for a 25-year-old, Brazilian international with solid prem experience and a decent (ish) scoring record.

I like ed had others in mind David, victor osimhen, and Nunez was the players I wished for, but all hugely more expensive it would seem and none with prem experience.

I really feel is a signing that we should all be absolutely buzzing about, yet like a lot of people, it just feels a little bit underwhelming.
