That was a awful performance last night considering what was at stake. Once again we were lacking in the big game mentality. Artetas tactics were wrong last Thursday and I don't think he had a scooby last night.

I said once before and I will say it again, we are a young side in age but not in experience. We had spent 150 million in the summer, had no European commitments no other Cup games to worry about and when it came down to it we were woefully lacking.

Europa might be fine to some Gooners and I totally respect that, but for me I was expecting and should have achieved more.

Agree Bill, we have experience in our side Xhaka love him or hate him is a seasoned international, Saka has played on the biggest stage, no excuses, we shouldn’t be tired we haven’t played enough games to use that .

Europa isn’t good enough, back to Thursday night football .

Arteta has taken us as far as he can.

I know Arteta will take the flack over last nights performance, but for me that sits 100% on the players. With a CL place at stake, and in their own hands, they simply couldn’t be bothered. We all fear players like Saka will leave without CL, but if that’s the best he, and others, can do when it’s there for the taking, then off you pop. The simple truth if that our first XI isn’t good enough, no winners or fighters. It’s been like that since Wengers final years, and nothings changed. Where it is Artetas fault, as it was with Wenger, and Emery before, is our apparent lack of being able to change our game plan depending on the opposition or occasion. Whether at home to Norwich mid season, or away to Notts Forest in the cup, through to Newcastles last home game of the season, or when the opposition goes down to ten men, we play exactly the same. No change in tempo, no change of style, not even any change in formation. We must be so easy to plan against, we show every team exactly what we are trying to do just by watching our previous games, no wonder every team fancies a pop at us. We are so far away from winning the league, and nothing I have seen this year, despite the 5th place finish, shows me we are any closer.

{Ed001's Note - so a manager, whose job it is to motivate the players, is not to blame when the players lack motivation? Jesus you lot make excuses for someone who is just terrible at his job, rather than just accepting he is dog muck at managing.}

Well said Ed.

{Ed001's Note - I just don't get it mate, there has not been one time I have watched you play that I have seen anything other than a good bunch of players being hampered by a terrible coach. There is a far better squad at Arsenal of players Arteta has alienated and forced out than anyone outside of the top 3 could possibly call on, but still he is the media darling. It beggars belief, but then the same media used to try and compare him with his friend Xabi Alonso, when he was nowhere near the same level at any point in his career. But because he is matey with the media he gets an easy ride and there are always stories putting his side of the story and bigging him up. Balague has his nose shoved so far up his backside Arteta can brush both sets of teeth in one go.}

I don't think he should of got that new contract and why he won't give the two French guys a second chance we have a good young squad and could do wonders under a better coach.

Think I need therapy after yesterdays performance. Ed001, realistically, arsenal aren’t going to sack the guy because we gave him a new contract. What would you do this summer, ins and outs to bring arsenal back? Not the competing for top 4 arsenal, the real arsenal who were competing for titles.

{Ed001's Note - for starters you have to build the defence around Saliba. It is ludicrous to have a player that good, who supports the club, and then spend tens of millions to replace him without even giving him a chance! And a left-back. I know you all love Tierney, but you can't rely on him and the season is too long to have a left-back who only plays every so often. Cucurella would be the obvious choice to replace him imo. Go and get Aouar finally done, the lad wants to join and is a good player. Then it is about getting an actual centre-forward in, as you really lack a top class one. Osimhen or Jonathan David would be good options. I am not sure you need to let anyone go, unless they want to leave, as Arteta has fallen out with so many you lack squad depth already.}

Not covering for Arteta Ed, as I say repeatedly, we are playing the same style, and making the same mistakes that we have for the past 10 years or so. What I do get f@caked off with though, is this fear that certain players will leave if we don’t get CL, and these are the exact same players who couldn’t be bothered to show any effort to get us in that exact competition, so for me they can Fock off as well.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok I can understand that.}
