On the Ben White debate I think Banbury is more surprised that when money is tight and we had the "best" defence in the league that we spanked 50m on a CD rather than a position we all expected. Fair point. Perhaps some creative flair for 50 to 70m would have been more what the doctor ordered or Bissouma or a right back etc etc

He's a decent young centre back but far from dominant but can read the game and play from the back but he's not the leader we need and we still have Leno!

I'm excited and do feel we overpaid and hope it doesn't impact other areas that really need investment

We are clearly investing with resale value in mind and players with no ego so that Emery sorry Arteta can manage them

COYG - hopefully a few more signings. Don't want Cedric at right back! Or PEA or Willian on the wing. More hope going into the season mainly as Arteta has nowhere to hide now.

Resale value in mind? This is what I meant by my last post about the sell on clause. So any profit made will be diminished.

So is a done deal, or should we wait for Wesley?

Not sure why a club of our size would be worried about resale value of a player about to sign on a 5 year deal? Surely we are more concerned about a signing being successful? Have you lot got millions of pounds worth of shares? 🤔.

If he's successful his value will naturally increase and that would make a nice change.

If after 3 years of rock solid performances in an Arsenal shirt he sadly decided he wanted away we'd at least make a huge profit on him to reinvest with as Liverpool did with Coutinho, that alone would make a nice change.
