I am all for upgrading on Leno, but £32m for Aaron "relegated twice on the bounce, me" Ramsdale?
WTAF?
I mean, I know he's ten years older but Rui Patricio, a proven Premier League and international 'keeper goes to Roma for £10m and yet we are allegedly willing to stump up three times that for a decent but as yet unproven at the highest level 'keeper?

I am absolutely no fan of Stan, but one thing I don't accuse his reign of being is unwilling to splash some cash, but it's on who that bothers me.
£50m for White sounds an awful lot. £32m on Ramsdale sounds ridiculous.

Some will say "they can't win! " On the one hand the Board gets castigated for not meeting other clubs valuations of players, missing out on countless alleged 'targets' and now here I am grumbling about over payment. Well of course, it's only my opinion about the players we are apparently buying (and I've said before I don't know enough about White, just that £50m sounds a hell of a lot) but there must be better value about for a replacement for Leno than this?

Your choice if you do, no problem Glenn but it sounds crackers money to me, and I gave you a comparison.

Pepe was expensive as he hasn't ever looked like 77 millions player
But Tierney has looks a steal at 25 millions

It's what a player does on the pitch in your shirt that shows his true value and given Ben White hasn't played for us yet, NO BODY KNOWS if we've got a bargain or paid over the odds yet.

I agree Max, it's massively overpaying for home grown. I haven't liked what I've seen from Ramsdale at all.

I don't think we'll pay 30m for Ramsdale personally. However, young, english talent and Ramsdale and Johnstone or both decent keepers so I can see why they are being looked at. People need to forget about Martinez, he was left in the shadows of many keepers for years and Villa then offered him 1st team football week in week out. It was right for him move on and I'm happy for him.
Ramsdale was decent at Bournemouth and put in some solid performances for Sheffield. If he was to come to Arsenal, I would confidently say that he would be a very good keeper for us.

Leno isn't a bad keeper. If any of you read the article that Ed001 posted for me regarding back room staff, you would of read that Leno doesn't like playing out from the back and clashes a lot with the GK coach. If he simply isn't prepared to adapt and try and make his game better then so be it, I can see why Arsenal would want to replace him.

But Leno hasn't suddenly started not liking the way we play or our coaches so if this was the case last summer why not let Leno go and keep Martinez back then?

Honestly? Did I miss something or is it your money that Arsenal are spending? No wonder I try and stay off here, you lot moan when we don’t spend and now moan when we do.
And as for players joining Arsenal and playing better than they did previously there is a rather long list

And some of these players starred for us and moved on and did nothing elsewhere.
